I had an extended stay in the king suite next to the laundry room, which is room 215. The laundry room is supposed to close at 9pm but almost every night people prop the door open and do laundry until almost midnight. You can loudly hear the machines through the wall amd the staff didnt seem to care.

Room was very nice, spacious, clean!! We got the suite, it was larger than we expected! Will definitely get that room again! Very convenient for shopping and the beach! Everything is in walking distance. Breakfast was decent nothing special but not bad.

Good stay, they put us in room 109 which is right next to the dining room so a little noisy in morning as staff prepared breakfast. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful. Block away from the beach and across the street from Walmart. Utilized the gym and sauna. Pretty good pice for two nights.

Friendly and professional staffing in all areas who were easy to talk to. Breakfast buffet area neat and clean with all food items kept in plentiful supply. Parking areas around the hotel well lit at night. If we stay in the area again, this Comfort Inn will be remembered as a place to stay,

Good stay, decent breakfast. Needs to be cleaned more thoroughly (the wall next to the bathroom dirty with what looks like urine splatters). We’re well lit parking lot. Nice and quiet area.

Our room was fine and the staff were friendly however the property is under renovation. Our room overlooked the construction dumpster. There were bathroom vanities in the hallway, with lumber, drywall and plastic on the floor. I do not think this would be safe if we needed to evacuate or an earthquake or fire. Our free breakfast consisted of fruit (apples, banana or oranges) in a bowl, instant oatmeal, muffins and coffee or tea. Not what I expected for almost over 250$ a night.

Whenever I make my annual visit to Monterey, I stay at this property. It's been 5 years and counting, and I've had no complaints untill my most recent stay. Unfortunately, they were under renovation. Therefore, it was quite noisy. Also, I was given a room with a broken heating & cooling system. Lastly, during my 5 night stay, the room key that I was issued, failed to work. Everyday I had to get my key reprogrammed, or was issued a different one. This was not the norm for this property. Possibly just bad timing on my behalf.

This hotel is run down. In need of some upgrades. Ice maker on our floor was broken. Vending machine on my floor took my money with out delivering a beverage. Vending machine on first floor did the same thing. I asked for a refund but they didn't have cash to reimburse me. Third floor vending machine worked. Curtains and blinds were dirty and didn't quite cover the window. At nearly $300 per night I would not stay here again.

We checked in at 1am after a long road trip drive and we found roaches in our room. We grabbed our belongings and left quickly after talking to yeh front desk. Manager was nice and refunded us but would not recommend this facility. to the front desk.

When we first walked in to one of our rooms, it smelled slightly of urine. Upon further inspection I found a booger on the wall of the bathroom and something that was either blood or feces on the tissue box. In our other room there was hair on the bed and the shower curtain was dirty. When I complained to the front desk, the attendant gave us a new room which appeared clean but I was nervous the whole time that the hotel in general was not clean. I asked for a refund and received only a $97 dollar credit on the nearly $1300 I spent on this hotel for two rooms and two nights. I would definitely choose another hotel if I was staying in the area again.

Newly renovated this is clean hotel with modern updates. Our room was very spacious with all the amenities we needed. The King bed we had was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and nicely light. A great location convenient to the Coastal Hwy, shopping and great restaurants.

The hotel, the service, and the breakfast were very good, but honestly, the cleanliness was very bad, the bathroom was very dirty, and I mean the shower, very dirty, it looked black, they hadn't even cleaned it in I don't know how long, and the bathroom door even had other people's hair on the walls, and I took pictures... that was very upsetting, because I still felt like the rest of the room was dirty even though it looked clean, because seeing the bathroom like that, I wasn't sure if the bed and everything else had been cleaned. That's what I didn't like, and I don't think I'll go back to that hotel because it already left a bad impression on me…

The receptionist was very unprofessional, lacked courtesy, and did not greet upon arrival. She mistakenly activated my room key card for only one day instead of the two days I had booked. When I approached her to correct the issue, she was rude and refused to acknowledge that it was her mistake, simply saying, “I don’t know how that happened.” She clearly needs training in customer service and basic etiquette. The rooms and facility is clean and well maintained.

Staff was not friendly, no smile, seemed annoyed - both the staff that checked me in and the staff that checked me out. Also, they don't do any cancellations or refunds. Of all the hotels where I have stayed, there was never an issue if a cancellation needed to be made (especially because I have a small child and they get sick often). The breakfast provided didn't really have much options. I would not recommend and I don't think I will be staying at a Comfort Inn again.

Nice place physically but when smoke alarms went off in our room at 3 am due to their negligence they refused to compensate me for not being able to sleep which is the point of having a hotel room!! Then they lied saying it was up to Hotels.com to compensate me.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Marina as a economical alternative to staying in Monterey or Carmel. As we had a rental car, it was easy to get around to local beaches and attractions in 30 min or less. The property management was accomodating to our booking needs and a nearby Walmart offered a great alternative to expensive dining. However, to improve, the hotel could use some updating and perhaps check the HVAC in the stairwells which were a bit smelly. The continental breakfast is appreciated but I make the coffee stronger.

Stayed 2 nights with kids. Overall, the stay was nice. The room (a suite) that we stayed in was spacious enough for us all and for a great price. Bathroom was mostly clean, just the floor of the shower could be re-finished. Breakfast wasn't that great, but it got the job done (we weren't there for the breakfast, so whatevs). More on breakfast: The breakfast area was too small (extended seating was around the corner though), lines can get long for waffles, so get ready. They didn't have non-dairy milk options for the cereal. I think that was the worse part for me, as a family member of mine is allergic to dairy and cereal is their thing. The hostesses at the front weren't particularly warm and welcoming, but they got the job done completely and speedily. For what I needed (a comfy, clean bed to sleep in), this place fulfilled it, and what they didn't give (non-dairy milk and other items), I could pick up from Walmart across the street. 😂... Side note: there's a delicious Vietnamese restaurant close, called The Noodle Bar. It's small and gets packed, but worth the wait.
