Sole reason to stay here was the Indoor Heated Pool which kids requested. However, the Pool heater was not working and Hotels.com does not tell you at the time of booking. You find it out only at check-in when it is too late to cancel. Not sure what can be done about such issues. Maybe best is to call hotel to check it before booking.

Hotel charges for parking. One night of our stay the hotel was quite full. We returned from CSUMB late and there was not a single parking space open. There was a truck and trailer blocking 8 parking spaces! Wonder if they paid for all of them?? We had to park in the sketchy Walmart parking lot across the street. Ruined our evening-other than that the hotel is very nice.

Our stay was amazing!! Very comfortable beds, very clean hotel, great customer service and the breakfast buffet was also very good. We also loved the fact that this hotel was dog friendly.

We were not told at check in that the pool’s heater was broken. That was the whole reason we booked at this location. We were told each morning that the pool might be fixed that day. It never was. We were also told by one of the desk attendants that we would receive a credit on our bill. We didn’t. In fact, I’m not sure I was ever sent a final bill. Our toilet’s flush was weak. The desk attendant when we arrived acted like I was bothering her by checking in. There was no soap in the men’s public restroom in the lobby and the water from the filling station tasted a little off. This was our second visit here and the first one was great. We will probably try it one more time and see if this location redeems itself.

Newer hotel. When the kids walked inside the room we could feel the movement. We could hear people walking outside our room, too. Seems foundation is not the sturdiest. The pool was closed. That was horrific for the kids (and me!). Not many guests there so parking was easy. It’s close to everything you want to do in Monterey. Free breakfast was great!

Excellent hotel! As a former worker for Hilton, I know where to look for issues! No one found. This hotel is newly renovated and very well maintained. Walking distance (0.4 miles) from a beautiful beach. I was looking in special for charging stations and this hotel has 4 of them (ChargePoint) and another two in a project to be added. All of them work flawlessly, maximum power is 6 kW/each. Plenty of space for electric vehicles and I noticed this hotel cares a lot for electric car drivers! Thank you Hampton, you rock!!

It was a nice hotel clean liked the beds and pillows the walk in shower, with king size bed the room was big. Good hot breakfast. But wasn’t happy with the $10 per day parking fee. I didn’t see that on their website, it was in there I just missed it. We stayed one night, $150 was a good price. But won’t stay here more than one or two nights due to the parking charge. Which is just greedy. There is no security or covered parking

Beautiful hotel with a pleasant stay overall. The only downside was a musty smell in the room upon arrival, possibly due to previous pets. Otherwise, the hotel was great—featuring a wonderful warm pool, excellent breakfast, and the bonus of free coffee available all day.

Manager and staff were less than hospitable, attitudes were unfriendly and sometimes downright rude (multiple times using profanity). Room was clean and comfortable. Spotted 2 baby cockroaches near the trash can in the bathroom. Parking was impossible due to staff allowing CalTrans trucks to take up multiple spaces (one of them taking up 5 alone). Will not be returning.

Nicest Hampton Inn of the many I have stayed in. The king bed room and bathroom were unusually spacious. Everything was modern and new. The cleanliness, staff, and breakfast were all excellent, as usual.

Great location. Easy to find parking. Near a Walmart and a couple of good options. Overall, building and everything was really clean. Easy access to freeway. Unfortunately, some linen on one of the beds appeared soiled or had some sort of blood stain on them. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay for me and my family

We had to request a new room since the original room had meldew in the shower. The heater in the pool was broke so we couldn't even swim. The room was spacious though and the breakfast was good. Wouldn't stay there again.

The hotel appeared to be fairly new, so the expectation was that everything inside the room would work. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case, as the shower dripped and it appeared someone had been trying to work on the problem and left the shower nozzle looking tattered with plumber's tape and thread lock. The shower head still dripped. Front counter staff seemed inattentive...like there was something in the back room that was more interesting than the guests- they'd quickly go through the motions of dealing with me as a guest, then jump back to either talking another employee or going back into the back room.

The mattresses were so uncomfortable that we couldn’t sleep. We were on a family vacation and stayed at 5 different hotels along the way. This was by far the most expensive, and was by far the most uncomfortable. Staff was nice and the room was clean. If you don’t want to get a good nights sleep I highly recommend.

We had a good experience here. We liked the heated indoor pool and the breakfast buffet. There was complimentary cookies in the evening and hit coffee and hot water to make tea in the lobby as well. I would stay again. The only thing that we didn't care for was the last night we stayed there there was a group of teenagers in the room next to us and they were playing loud music until 1am and running up and down the hallway. It was hard to sleep. The room was advertised as having sound proofed walls but even with the AC on we could still hear them. We didn't call the front desk to ask for help on the issue so I'm not sure if it could've been resolved by taking that action. Still, I would go back if we were passing through again. It is a clean, safe place to stay.

Check in swift and front desk very polite and informative. Room very clean, beds comfortable , shower warm and spacious , heating and air responsive making room temp great. Wifi a little slow. I used cellular. Would have been nice to have a fridge. Still a great place to stay and highly recommend. Did not have the breakfast, did not use the pool. Stayed 2 nights.

Huge room with usual amenities. Didn’t use gym nor pool, but ate a fabulous array of breakfast offerings each and every morning. Appreciated the quiet, calm environment with perfect temperature controls. Staff helpful and most courteous. Will stay again sometime.

Overall everything was clean. I wanted a room which was soundproof so I can sleep peacefully which is why I booked the hotel. Unfortunately that was not the case. I could hear every word the people next to me were saying. They were up till 4am and I can hear them all night long so to say I didn’t get any sleep. Hampton do better don’t say soundproofing and then you can hear everything your neighbor is saying.

I booked a last minute one night stay in Monterey. Booked a one king, one pull out sofa bed for my husband and daughters. Upon entering our room, we were given a room that was already occupied. We entered the room and the people that was already in the room screamed. We apologized and left downstairs. We had quite a few duffle bags and personal items so it was frustrating. How embarrassing for us and scary for the other people as well. Upon getting to the front desk, the lady up front already knew about it because the other people already called to complain. Got a new key and went back up to get situated in our room. Had about 1 hour left before the pool closed, so I took my daughters to go swimming. The clerk at the front desk said there’s towels so we didn’t bring any. Come to find out after getting to the pool, that there was none. Had to walk back to the front desk and get towels. When it was time to set up the sofa bed for my daughters, I had to call to get pillows and extra sheets/blankets. There was also not enough towels, and I had to call again for towels. My reservation did say 4 people , why would they not put enough sheets/blankets/towels/pillows in the room? Besides all that was mention, the room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fully stocked and everything was delicious

The customer service was exceptional! From the front desk to housekeeping, it was so pleasant to see that the staff truly cared about customer satisfaction. I ran into a little problem and found Carolina from housekeeping and she went above and beyond to help us clean a little mess I created on accident as I was entering my room. Thank you so much Carolina! You deserve recognition.

When we pulled up, our son threw up in the chair. We were frantically running around the car. Win, the front - saw us. They came running out to help with towels. They also offered to connect their hose so that way we could spray out my son's car seat. These people were beyond helpful and went above and beyond to help us and i appreciate it very much.

I did an initial reservation for one night, then I decided to stay a second night and I did a separate reservation. when I checked in at the hotel, I told them about the two reservations. the frontdesk person said that it was ok to stay on the same room. I assumed that this statement would take care of everything, but I was wrong. when we came back to the room the next day, the key didn't work and they told us that the "system" checked us out. even worse the room was not cleaned. the person at the frontdesk that night had a terrible attitude and gave us all kinds of excuses, the next day the same frontdesk person was there and when I complained, she gave us a different set of excuses. the hotel was ok, but customer service was awful. there was no accountability at all for their mistake. I will not come back again.

Overall, it was okay. Front desk staff was extremely rude. When I entered my room I noticed the door didn’t lock and the TV said to check cables. When I called the front desk, she made it seem as if I don’t know how to lock a door. She then came to our room and noticed that it didn’t lock and she said someone can come look at it tomorrow. I asked if we could get another room and she stated how there was only one left and that it was for people with disabilities. I mentioned that was fine, as I didn’t feel comfortable staying in a room with my children where the door doesn’t lock. She gave us a new room (same as our original not one for disabilities as she originally said that was all that was left) and once I got to the room the key wouldn't open the door. Once again, back to the lobby. Someone else helped us and said the original girl didn’t change the room key…. Lovely. So we finally get to our room and notice there’s a bandaid in the bathroom floor and no remote to be found. I call the lobby just to see if I could get a remote and they said “ yes but you’re going to have to come down and get it “. Honestly staff was rude and unprofessional. Everything else was fine. .

The hotel is clean and room is comfortable. Staff members are very helpful and professional. We didn't use other facilities like gym or swimming pool so can't comment on that. The only complain is that the hotel blocked the other side of the parking entrance. So in order to get on high way 1 south, you'd have to turn right on the main street, turn another right, then make a U-turn and another left. It's very inconvenient and tedious.

As a family with small children, I wish we would have stayed somewhere different like Carmel by the sea. This hotel was okay. The area itself is pretty run down. Wasn’t super impressed but wasn’t terrible. Just don’t have high expectations.

Staff was friendly. Food was OK. Some of the things were overcooked. They ran out of milk one morning. I asked for room service while we were gone and that never happened so I had to replenish the things in the room. Pool was nice and heated. Big bathtubs for the kiddos! Also walking distance to the beach and 15 minute drive to Monterey Bay aquarium.

We enjoyed our stay. Check in was easy. The property is new, clean, & modern. The room was nice. Breakfast was great. Omletttes, sausage, waffle maker, bagels, etc. disappointed that we didn’t get the chance to check out the indoor pool.

The most disappointing part is that there was issues with breakfast items and we had trouble in stomach. There was hair found in the breakfast item of one of my family member and we had to through the remaining food. This happened on Wed 7/10/2024.
