Hotel is in tranquil setting with fountains in the middle of property and a nice pool area. Plenty of parking (free). Deluxe room has lots of space besides the bed. Room is very clean and well maintained. Water pressure for shower is slightly low but tolerable. Staff is friendly and very helpful!

We had an amazing stay. Check in was a breeze. The property is beautiful. The room was very spacious and clean. We had a suite with a kitchen. They provided everything we needed including pots and pans, napkins plates, silverware, glasses etc. The mini fridge was even stocked with beer, wine and water at a reasonable price. The shower even had a jacuzzi tub with his and hers bath robes. We cooked dinner and enjoyed our evening then explored the hotel the next morning. It has a nice breakfast by the poolside. And a lagoon with ducks surrounded by beautiful flowers to walk around. One of the best parts was checkout at 12pm so we didn't have to rush. Was a 10 out of 10 experience. It's so peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend.

This hotel was rated 9.8 Excellent on Hotels.com. This is the second time from Hotels.com Ive been burnt on a hotel. This particular hotel is our of date, The hotel is under a lot of trees with water fountains all around the hotel rooms are musty and smell bad. The furniture is out dated and beat. I had to battle allergies from the must and mold.

We stayed for a quick overnight in early August. The rate was good for the Palo Alto area. We enjoyed resting by the pool after a 5 am departure from Southern California. The rooms are nothing fancy, but clean and updated for an older property. We enjoyed the complimentary Wall Street Journal in the lobby. The staff was very professional and welcoming.

The hotel room was large, quiet, had plenty of lights and outlets, a large sliding glass door (although I had no deck it was nice to open for fresh air) and extra towels. Beds were a little hard, but I had lots of pillows to make up for it. The cleaner they use is strong and gave me a bit of a headache. Pool was very awkward to swim in with the restaurant right there, but I am self-conscious, it was also salty which I would like to think is because it was a saltwater pool since Palo Alto is so eco friendly. There is room service from the restaurant, but it's overpriced for what you get. I would stay at the hotel again for sure, would get a room facing the pond though. I would not eat at the restaurant again, it was just overpriced and really did not catch my interest.

Good location, good parking situation. The room was spacious and clean. No complimentary breakfast, but the restaurant was good and A Good Morning is right down the street. Only one thing, the king bed was a bit lumpy. My wife had a "hole" on her side, hence a slightly less than perfect rating. Would def stay again.

This is a very lovely, unique property. Tranquil & beautiful, relaxing, all amenities you could wish for. The only complaint would be the noise from the room upstairs (I was on the first floor) I'm not sure if this is anything that can be helped, but I could hear the people above loudly moving their chair across the floor (it was loud!) and walking sounded SO loud, it was very quiet when they weren't moving around! But i could tell when they got up and when they went to sleep due to this noise.

Have to update my review from a 5 to a 5+… this was our second visit in the past few months and it’s was fantastic as usual. Would like to give a shout out to Chloe and Oscar at the restaurant. Alejandro and the housekeeping crew. And cannot forget Chris and the managers at the front desk. We had to make a couple of last min changes, and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay, and had room for our dog. Every time we’ve been there, it just gets better and better. The staff welcomed us back like we were family. Wish we could give higher than a five! Thank you Dinah’s!!

We spent one night at Dinah's before an appointment at Stanford Health. The standard king room was clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed, a small patio overlooking the pool, and a spacious shower in a toasty warm bathroom. We were tired and ordered a room service dinner fairly late upon our arrival, relieved that they were still open on a quiet Sunday evening, Service was prompt and the pub-type food did the trick. Had it been 20-30 degrees warmer outside, we would have hopped right into the pool before checking out. Perhaps next time! Thank you - it met our lodging needs perfectly during an otherwise difficult trip.

A little quirky, a little whimsical, and very, very comfortable — Dinah’s is unique. We come to Palo Alto frequently to visit family, and we wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere but Dinah’s. Friendly and helpful staff. Poolside restaurant offers high-class comfort food with a few interesting twists.

I stayed at Dinah’s at the end of May. Check in was easy as was check out. The grounds are cute with a mini resort type feel. There is a small heated pool with about 10 loungers. There is a pool side restaurant with many tables and chairs. The pool side restaurant serves breakfast, also. The chilaquiles were excellent. The grounds have cute little water features and even ducks and koi. The room is spacious. I would stay here again.

Great view of pond if you have the patio. Not sure what the smoking policy is, but there was a smoker next to us who just blew smoke into our place....rather annoying. The place itself was really spacious and clean. Room service was prompt when needed. But these are basic expectations. Nothing above and beyond. Only thing I would avoid (or be very careful about) is their poolside restaurant. Do not eat the salmon if they recommended it. Tasted atrocious, like a bad TV dinner....at $32, talking about insult on injury!

My husband and I stayed here last week and we were so pleasantly surprised by this unexpected little oasis of a hotel. It is almost as if you are transported to a tropical destination. The grounds were beautiful, the room was spacious, clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. I also have to mention that the food at the restaurant was delicious. We went back for breakfast because dinner was wonderful (we got an appetizer and two salads). Everything was fresh and flavorful. The staff were super friendly and attentive. For a budget hotel, we had an outstanding stay.

The restaurants is excellent, tried the chillaquiles- amazing! the steak- amazing! The french toast-amazing! The meatloaf- amazing! You get it. Stayed in room with view of the pool, if you are not a morning person do not book a room over the pool, kids love to have a good time in the pool and you won't be able to sleep in. Room was no frills, basic but clean. Definitely, booking here again.

My husband had a major surgery booked early in the morning at Stanford so I chose this hotel because the atmosphere seemed calming and soothing. We arrived after dinner during a heat wave and our room (in the 600 block) was 84 degrees. The a/c clearly was not working. The maintenance man got onto the rooftop to ‘reset’ the system but the room never cooled. The front desk manager walked us personally to another room that was a grade below our original room and promised to move our belongings to the top floor the next day. The staff followed through on all the promises which was greatly appreciated as I was returning late after remaining with my husband at Stanford Hospital. The rooms are QUIET!! Another bonus of an older property.

The property has changed since the previous owner, Julie, passed away. It’s still great, however, each time we have visited since, the property has changed in less enjoyable ways.
