We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Gates at all entry points helped us feel even safer. The room was cleaned and made up, including fresh towels, daily. The hotel has beach chairs and towels available free to take to the Beach. Personnel were very helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location.

I stayed here one night as a stopover on my way to Arizona. The Bayside Hotel is just across the street from the beach and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the boardwalk. The rooms are clean and the place is very quiet. Bikes & beach chairs are on site and parking is available behind the hotel. I recommend this hotel highly.

The property was well kept up and renovations have been done. It’s beautiful inside the rooms very clean. We stayed in the room with the kitchen it had everything we needed in it and it had lots of security features going in and out of the hotel very close proximity to the beach and pier.

I love this hotel and location, there's convenient parking, you're right at the beach, and the staff are all wonderful. There's no elevator, but wheelchair accessible on ground floor. Major construction on the street, but their parking was not affected.Beds are comfortable, linens are fresh, but the rooms need some serious maintenance and updating. Tub was stained, dirt in corners, fixtures rusty, floors creaky. They were in the middle of renovations on other rooms so yes, it's happening (yay!) but I felt like the rates should have been lower due to the noise, run down bathroom, and inconvenience.

Loved our experience! To start, the hotel is walking distance to the beach. In the room, they have a beach bag with beach towels available. They also have lawn chairs and umbrellas to borrow and take to the beach. You can rent a bike and cruise around as well. I would say it is extremely convenient. I wouldn’t say “luxury” but more of convenience! Don’t hesitate!

The hotel was in good location. Clean. The inconvenient was with the parking at the moment we arrived late in the evening because they didn't have available Parking. And if you find the parking in the hotel you need to pay more than $38 every, very expensive. We parking outside the hotel and were received a ticket for $68 because we were not well advice for the girl who was there in the customer service October 4th. But anyway thanks

Room was basic, very loud air conditioning and hotel is run down with no upkeep and rust everywhere. For the rate they charge it should have nicer rooms. Around the property it’s run down, paint falling off and thin walls so can hear everything so don’t get much sleep - We left at 5am as had been up the whole night and paid $350 a night on a Thursday. You can stay at Viceroy for same amount

The cleaning was done thoroughly, but since the building itself is a bit old, the water facilities cannot be said to be very clean. Also, the filter part of the hair dryer was moldy, and it couldn't be used even when plugged into the outlet.

Bayside Hotel was very pleasant. We had an ocean view with a kitchen. Clean but could use a refresh. Loud through out the night for me (ended up putting in headphones) My daughter from Seattle heard no difference. Could hear people next to us and above us. Location was most ideal and because of it, I would stay here again.

The cable didn’t work in our room and they didn’t have a solution which is challenging with kids The beds were stuff and uncomfortable The rooms were remodeled and looked nice Bathrooms were also remodeled and looked good The location was convenient for the beach We wouldn’t stay there again

Ground floor garden rooms open onto the patio garden just a few steps to the beach. The hotel provides beach gear and each room comes with a fridge, some had microwaves (ours didn't). There's a good but small grocery store nearby, and a breakfast cafe up the block, as well as an amazing Thai restaurant with a Michelin rating a couple of blocks away. It's always quiet and beautiful here.

This place is a gem!! Steps from the beach, super clean, quiet, and friendly. We arrived around 10:00am from our long flight and were going to ask them to store our bags for the day. They actually had a room ready and checked us in! That is unheard of! They were so nice, helped us with the bags, lent us a beach towel. I will recommend this to everyone!!

Stayed here one night at start of our California road trip. The hotel has a great location - 2 mins from the beach and 5 from the famous pier. Many restaurants relatively close. The hotel is clean and functional but the staff on arrival and departure were unfriendly and cold. It’s more like a motel than a hotel - but much more expensive! Has seen better days and I wouldn’t return or recommend.

Overall it was horrible when I get there to check in at 10pm they were close I couldn’t check in at all the security told me that were close for the night.. mind you that I had pay already. So I had find other hotel pay again !! If I only knew that they’ll be close by 9pm I wouldn’t never booked a room there overall awful experience..

Great and convenient place to say near Santa Monica Pier and beaches. The room was lovely and spacious enough with fine amenities, but the real treat was being able to walk out and around the beach, but also be able to bring a car into public parking nearby and leave it overnight.

Well appointed and updated. Enjoyed my stay - very comfortable room. Right next to the Santa Monica boardwalk and pier. Restaurants just a couple blocks away. Plan to stay again next time I'm in town.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. We had a room with small kitchenette that was really great for making meals. Room was clean, I liked the aesthetic (wooden floor with big rug), all furnishings (bed and seats) were very comfortable. View to the beach was great and you could watch the sunset from the balcony/landing. Only 5 minute walk to the beach and another 5 to the SM pier. Just off Main street to with great bars and restaurants (just up on the corner was Dogtown coffee for breakfast which was great). Room provides bag with beach towels in it which was fantastic and super helpful. Minor issues (of no real concern) were: 1. Balcony is shared and not private (wasn't an issue) 2. No chopping board in kitchen (again not an issue but would be handy) 3. Shower head is a little low even thought there is plenty of head room (I'm 6' 1" and I had to slightly crouch under it). None of the points above were issue but thought to highlight it. Would gladly stay again as it was a great location for a good price (for the area) and the staff were helpful. Highly recommended

Great, friendly staff and very efficient. My only gripe would be the categorisation of the property. For English travelers, this is more akin to a motel, not a hotel as there is no restaurant, bar or pool. Units are on two levels with an outside staircase. You definitely pay for the proximity to the beach.

Really nice location, close to main street where you can find little restaurants, cafes and so on and basically across the road from the Ocean. The rooms are spacious enough and clean, parking around the property is convenient (and if there is no parking, you can pay a fee to park in the property). All the staff encounters were positive, kind people. A suggestion: update the carpets, they make the room feel older than it really is :)

It is a cozy property in the perfect location. Located in the walking distance from Santa Monica pier and mini attractions. My room was comfortable and spacious. Absolutely super clean. He had all the amenities toiletries and snacks for my convenience. There is a Caribia restaurant located nearby the front desk staff is really helpful and friendly. I’d recommend this property to anyone visiting Santa Monica especially for the first time.
