Stayed 1 night

It has been over 15 years since I've visited this property. It was a very pleasant place back then. Booked online, I chose this spot for the pool, hot tub, and free hot breakfast (how i always choose my hotel). This Days Inn showed all of these to be present. The lobby area still reminded me of the good ol days but as soon as my Wife and I walked up to the front desk, the guy there stood up and walked into his office due to a phone call. He didn't wave, say hello, be right back or anything. Ok. We waited a few minutes until he came back. No smile or welcoming communication at all. A very unfriendly mannered. So i used my customer service skills hoping he'd mimmick but no change and no care to. Checked in, we were booked into about the farthest room you could walk to in the hotel (which is ok). Came back to grab my luggage and he was actually verbally fighting with a guest! Basically letting this person know that he needs to be respected and understood. The customer was a frail older woman who looked down on her luck. The reasoning I chose this hotel, the pool and hot tub were closed and the hot breakfast was non existent. No working ice machines. When I asked about the pool, he looked at me like I did something wrong, then proceeded to get ready to cancel my nights stay. It was too late for that so we kept the room. The room was decent but was still under construction. Has potential if the hotel gets bought by someone who cares.

The one thing that we chose this hotel for was the Hot tub and pool. I looked all over the web site and there was no mention that it was out of order. I found out when I was checking in... They said it was down for cleaning but when you look through the window it had cleared been non functioning for months if not longer... Then when I was checking in because I live in town I had to put down a cash deposit of $100. This to was not on there website anyplace... The ac in the room did not work well it was more like a fan rather than an AC... When I tried to call the front desk there was no answer... This was supposed to be a relaxing night for me and my wife away from the kids and just to have some us time...
