This resort has the perfect location, located at the southern most tip and end of Duval. Check in was easy and our room overlooked the Pineapple pool and bar, which made for fun evenings sitting on our balcony. The only downside to this resort was I felt the room was a little outdated and the bathroom was very small. The room was overall big, but only one chair to sit on. The rooms need work…. But you cannot beat its location and the employees were all great. My favorite was the trivia games at the pool to win free drinks and the music they played at the pool. The resort is actually very big with three pools. I would recommend spending the month on either the ocean view or pool views with balcony’s

Pools are always packed with no chairs avaliable after 10am. Beach is a mud playground. Rooms are clean, staff is nice. I was supposed to get a free bottle of wine and 30usd boucher but I didn't bring it up to their attention I wouldn't have gotten it. Parking is $46 per night plus a amenity fee of $50 per night. Good restaurants around the hotel.

We had an awesome girls trip here! The staff were accommodating in putting our two rooms next to each other. The 3 pools/pool bars are great and have fun activities daily! It’s so close to everything either a quick walk or Uber got us everywhere we needed to go. We will definitely be back!

The best vacation to Key West yet. Our guesthouse was beautiful, great location, beach, bar, clean, quiet and the breakfast in the morning is amazing. There's also a decent workout room.

In this huge property we were given a room where the elevator does not work for entire stay. A bit disappointed in the fact that we were not advised prior that the beach was closed off the beach was the main reason we booked this property.

Room was good clean and staff was friendly. Very disappointed in pool areas and beach areas which is the number one reason we picked this property. Beach area was unusable due to the seaweed and the sand was dug up at the moment. Also the pool bar closed by 5 pm which we thought was strange. Would not stay there again.

The property is adequate. Sometimes the adult pool would run out of towels. The staff was friendly. Its location is far from activities at Mallory Square. The rental equipment at the hotel is not regularly maintained. I would rent bikes etc. elsewhere.

A great location with plenty of amenities and ocean access. We loved our room with a partial ocean view balcony in the 700 block. The three pools give you choices between tranquil to party and the cafe has a lovely view of the ocean. The bathroom was large with a wonderful shower and comfortable beds. No microwave, but there is a fridge and coffee in the rooms and free bottled water is a big plus. The downside is that the elevators were down the entire time and the bar/restaurant staff are not as friendly as the others on property.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this place was beyond unacceptable. The room was filthy from the moment I walked in. Dust everywhere, like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. To make it worse, I saw cockroaches crawling around and – in the bathroom, near the bed, and even under the nightstand. Completely unsanitary. The furniture and walls were in terrible shape, with peeling paint, broken fixtures, and stains that made me not even want to sit down. The air smelled musty and dirty, and honestly, I didn’t feel safe or comfortable staying the night. This hotel is in desperate need of a deep clean and renovation. Until that happens, I would strongly recommend avoiding it. Spend your money somewhere else – literally anywhere would be better than this.

5th time staying in key west, 4th time staying at the property. Love it there but was little put off. Our balcony on the 3rd floor had ants. They were also in our bathroom and bed area. On our second day room service forgot about us. I called front desk on 3rd day I called front seat because our garbage was overflowing, we were out of paper products and needed new towels, I thought they should have waved a couple of resort fees

Pros. The room was spacious and clean and just like the pictures. We were there after the 4th of July weekend so the resort was quiet and not crowded so you can easily find sunbathing chairs and enjoy the resort facilities. The check-in staff were nice. Cons. It was seaweed season as they say, and apparently they let nature run its course without any intervention, so the private beach area was buried in seaweed, it cannot be used. Also the seaweed area emits a bad odor that extends to the surrounding rooms and pool. The pools are usually crowded and not clean ( even with goggles you can’t see the bottom of the pool). I didn’t appreciate that I was in the family pool area with my kids and the people there were smoking and cursing. Also I didn’t like that the bell boy helping with the bags was smashing it to the floor as he unload! The bag wheels could’ve break and we would’ve been so screwed! Finally during check out the front disk were sticklers for checking out at eleven am and not 12 even though the resort was practically empty. Final note; I think overall the resort was good compared to the other resorts in the area I would still recommend it to travelers (preferably kids-free) however be ware of seaweed season if you wish to enjoy the water. I however don’t see my self coming back here or to Key west in general.

The entire property stunk due to the seaweed and nothing was being done. Housekeeping did not change out sheets for our entire stay and left us a surprise in the toilet one day. Management was contacted multiple times throughout our stay and nothing was ever rectified. This place is nothing like advertised!

The amenities on the property were great! We enjoyed the shores pool and pool bar during our stay. However, we did not enjoy the pigeons and roosters roaming everywhere or their waste all over the property. There was pigeon poop all outside our room and down the steps leading to the pool area. We were there 4 nights, and we never saw anyone clean up the mess. We also found it gross to see the pigeons walking along the tables in the beach cafe. Just seemed unsanitary to me. Other than the bird issue, we enjoyed our stay. Property was at the far end of Duval, so it’s a good 20 minute walk to get to the other end.

This resort unsanitary. The rooms smell of mold, the floors unclean, the shower drains do not drain. There is no water pressure, the toilet paper holder is broken. The so called beach area is unusable due to seaweed they have allowed to rot. When you exit your room the smell makes you want to vomit. Not to mention the trees that you park your car under are full of chickens that excrete all over your car while you sleep. The droppings are also all over the pavement when you attempt to get your luggage to your room. This resort is a health hazard and a complete waste of money.

Hotel was nice, but internet pictures make some areas seem much larger. Added fees at check-in to the tune of over $500. Floor in room was extremely dirty, glass shower door did not close properly. Four people in room and only given two towel sets. Had to request more towels and toilet tissue. Most of the staff were real friendly.

We booked an ocean view room with the property and we certainly did not get ocean view. We could barely see the ocean from our room. More like a “partial” ocean view. The seaweed smell was HORRIBLE. Enough to make someone gag. Our elevator was broken so we had to climb stairs. It was just disappointing. Staff was nice enough though.

Key West in general is wonderful because everything is pretty much within walking distance. This resort is at the very end of the quieter side of Duval. Pool is nice, rooms are a good size and nicely equipped. Our room was on the 2nd floor and I had a broken foot. There’s no elevator so if you have mobility issues be sure to ask for a lower level room. Getting our luggage up and down the stairs as well as having to slowly hobble up multiple times a day with a cast on was a bit of a challenge. The beach was awful. It was black and unusable. The sargassum was terrible while we were there which is obviously not the resorts fault but be mindful of that as well. With the location being ocean side we had beautiful views ( minus the beaches current condition) but the smell was horrendous. The further we got from the resort the less we could smell it. Overall, we were very pleased and would stay here again. However, if you’re coming during sargassum season be prepared to need to visit other beaches and bring nose plugs.

Pictures don’t match watch you get. Tiny room, tiny shower, tiny sink, tiny toilet between sink and wall. Best to call and make sure you get want you want. Also beach front was smelly and mud piled up not used.

The property is beautiful, only complaint we have is size of room. When front desk offered us a room, 2201, and said you can have it immediately, they really needed to mention that it is the size of a king bed with 18 inches on all sides. Would have felt better if they had given us a choice to wait for housekeeping in another slightly larger room. Not a good way to start off.

Southernmost is an excellent resort, beautifully landscaped and kept in excellent condition. There are 4 pools to choose from, family friendly to adults only. The staff is friendly and responsive. Gabriel, one of the managers, was especially helpful. Our room on the otherhand, was far from great. It was verysmall (especially for the high price we paid), tucked under a staircase with windows covered so the room never had good light.

Best resort!! My boyfriend just said “ I would say there 100 more times”. The staff was great, upgraded our rooms since it was a big family trip. Walkable distance to everything. Special shoutout the the restaurant chef on the property who cooked us the most unforgettable meal after we brought her a bunch of fresh fish from a fishing trip during the day!!

The resort itself was clean overall but the staff refused to clean the beach full of seaweed which stunk up the whole property. Also the pictures of our room Expedia showed us wasn’t accurate to the room we ended up with. We saw pictures that we had a private balcony and instead we shared a walkway with everyone. We also had to call the front desk numerous times to get us some extra pillows and water bottles. And the employees there at the front desk kept giving us different answers when asking how the food and beverage credit worked which was also a disaster. The bar service and food service was good though other than that it was bad. I’d go to Key West again definitely but I would not stay at this resort ever again.

The only friendly people at this place were the ones behind the front desk. We actually got attitude and staff showed annoyance because we asked for our room to be cleaned. We will not be returning to this place. Staff was dismissive and rude. Not worth the cost! Never saw the concierge once, they tried to charge for parking even though we did not have a car

The Good: The property is in a great location next to everything. It's clean and large. The pools are nice and there is plenty to do as they have activities planned daily. The concierge. Julie is wonderful as she has amazing customer service and is very informative and helpful. The front desk upon checking in supplied champagne and some cheer. Justin at the front desk was extra accommodating because he took his time to explain the property and help us with an upgraded room that was on the fourth floor of one of the sections. The bedroom overlooked the ocean which was expansive and beautiful. Vlad the bartender we're super friendly and happy to see us everyday. Improvements: Much of the staff seems to have and I don't care attitude. Finding a smile on some of the staff is very hard to come by. It kind of makes it a little difficult to really feel welcomed at this property. This is a huge miss and it big opportunity for the resort to improve upon. With the right training of the staff in simple friendliness would go reveal a long way to make this a five-star resort.

There was a mixup when we checked in - we were given someone else’s room and then assigned a room that wasn’t what we paid for. However, we spoke to a manager, Alan, who did right by us and moved us into beautiful room and personally took us over to make sure we liked it. Thank you, Alan. You are the best! The hotel alerts guests to activities with a daily text plus you can message them about anything. All the staff is very obliging and kind. A shout out to Marilyn and Joyce! We really ended up enjoying our stay and the proximity to shops and restaurants. The resort is in a great location and offers access to the beach and three pools.

The hotel is okay, but may not be worth the money. We paid for an oceanfront room with a balcony. We get there and it’s a shared balcony, not private. I did complain and nothing was done. Wild to think that is something that is an extra charge. The nightlife and sunset are at the other end of Duval, so the location isn’t the greatest.

The property was situated perfectly on the more serene end of Duval, and a close walk to everything from one side of the island to the other. Having a beach was also a great option to change the scenery of the pool. Restaurants and bars were conveniently located by both and food and drink options were great.

Our stay at Southernmost Beach Resort was great!! This place offers so many amenities. They keep you up to date on everything that is going on at the resort everyday. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was enjoyable. We would definitely stay again. My only complaint is that the shower floor especially in the corners could use better cleaning. Other than that everything went great.

NOT WORTH IT - The Resort dropped the ball in so many ways. Our room was TINY. So much that there wasn’t even room for a chair – had to sit on the toilet to put on my shoes. The ”view” from our room was just a small alley with trash and broken furniture. The “balcony” was a joke. The door to our room was actually dangerous. It is a double glass door, but the only way you can have any privacy, is to pull down the blinds to cover the doors. I have to imagine this is an illegal fire hazard. The beach was an absolute horror show. They present it on the website as this pristine sandy beach. But in reality, it is a foul, sargasso polluted mess. Every resort we’ve ever stayed at rakes the seaweed every day and cleans the beach for guests. Not here. The breakfast café by the beach has an average offering. Egg station, coffee, tea, and a few breads and yogurt/granola combos with fruit. It’s served 8am to 10am, we got there at 9:30am on the first morning, and they were out of coffee. The poor woman hostess was trying to keep up with everyone’s needs (she really made a valiant effort) but they are just understaffed. The food is constantly attacked by pigeons and roosters when you leave your table. Finally, we checked in on Wednesday, they did not give us our Expedia VIP Welcome Package until Friday afternoon - so we were unable to use any of it. We never do this, but we honestly feel we are owed a financial credit for the undelivered perks, if not a refund for our entire stay.
