Margaritaville Beach House Key West

I was disappointed in broken AC and use of a portable in the room. Also there is a significant mismatch between between the pool capacity and number of guests, which causes a lot of crowding in the pool.

Upon arriving we were offered an upgrade. The room as it turned out had a leaky bathroom and we were offered a nicer room with an ocean front view. The staff was so nice. There was free shuttle transportation to and from the airport and downtown \\ Mallory Square as well. The pool was well kept and there were drinks a food as well. We had a fun time!

If you want both beach and pool options, this is a great location. Although the beach isn’t part of the hotel property and is open to the public, it’s a 2-minute walk from the hotel and is pretty nice. If you want a nicer beach, 5 minutes down the road to the south is a nicer and larger beach with parking. The staff here are great and do all they can to make you really feel like you are on vacation. The rooms are adequate, a little dated, but you won’t spend much time in the room anyway. The front desk and concierge are very friendly and helpful in suggestions for dinner or excursions. There is a free airport and downtown shuttle. It’s packed so arrive early! The pool is perfect for relaxing and meeting people from all over. While we were there the jacuzzi was out of service and construction on it was being done. A little annoying, but not a big deal. The restaurant stays busy, and service is a little slow, perhaps due to staffing issues. But just enjoy the nice pool view and don’t stress about it. We never had an issue with finding parking, even arriving back later in the evening. I would stay here again when we return to Key West.

Everything was great. Just the elevators were not working. So It was Like a workout everyday walking up and down the stairs when our room was on the 3rd floor.

The pool is ridiculously small for the size of the hotel.

I liked the property the only negative I have is the pool area is not large enough to accommodate the number of people there.

The complimentary shuttle was a plus. Front desk reception was amazing. Everyone was happy, friendly, helpful. We had a king suite. It was roomy and comfortable. The beach is just across the street. We didn’t spend any time at the beach - lots of seaweed. Resort pool is open late every night. Front desk staff available 24/7.

Bar staff brought free smoothies at 12:00 noon and popsicles at 2:00. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Also the free cookies in the lobby were quite tasty. Music by the pool was great and the free on the hour shuttle into town and to and from the airport was nice. We would stay again! Thank you Margaritaville Beach house!

Restaurant is very expensive. Property is not within walking distance of anything. You are dependent on shuttle or your own transportation to get to anything. Pool is small. People tend to go down early and "reserve" a spot for themselves.

Property and rooms were clean and shuttle service was well operated and very helpful. Pool and outdoor area was small, crowded, and inadequate for the number of guests and price paid for the rooms.

Our overall stay was wonderful the concierge and staff were absolutely excellent the one tiny problem we had was with our room smelling like must and mildew and I understand people stay in these hotels and lay on the sofa with their wet clothing but the smell was very overwhelming a clung to our clothing. The cleaning stuff was amazing and they did absolutely everything they could to get the room to smell better.

I have never posted a negative review but this place is a 20+ year old SHERATON with JB pictures and shiplap. The TV did not work, The thermostat did not work. Electricity kept going out so everyone had to use the stairs. Roaches in our room. Also fire code violations everywhere (says this Fire Protection Engineer). Horrible and why a $58 resort fee for one night???

Before we arrived manager called and advised that are booking was changed due to one of the rooms having a leak. He gave us two rooms in lieu to make up for the change. We could not stay all on the same floor. The hotel elevators were not working and we had two elderly people with us that had to climb stairs. We later found the service elevator and used that to assist our family members that no one even offered to advise. When we got to the room the room had a funny smell and it was not clean to my standards. I dropped my hair brush under the bathroom sink and found dead insects under it. The corners were dirty in the entire room and the lighted mirror had mold on the light area that was visible from the front. No place to hang the towels, bathing suits.

The rooms were VERY clean. Nice and bright with fridge and microwave. And complimentary water, which is so nice. The public areas are well kept and clean and pretty. Great music piped through!

We've been coming to Key West for the last 10 years, Margaritaville for the last 4 (because we have kids and they have bedrooms for the whole family). I never remember it being as bad as it was this time around. Doors falling off their hinges, vomit sprayed on the back of pocket doors which clearly aren't cleaned, plugs falling out of outlets, every surface covered in a layer of grime, the smell of mildew blasting through the air conditioners...it's pretty gross. If it were an AirBnB we would have left, but as it were we happened to be here during FantasyFest (which we knew ahead of time) and there were no other hotels available. No help with luggage when you pull up. Find your own cart and drag your own suitcases especially since their vans take up the whole front of the hotel so it's a long way to drag. Not to mention it was a frat party around FantasyFest which was new to us too. The usual crowd are respectful and we don't mind - the hordes of teenagers, screaming at the top of their lungs, throwing pizza off balconies, taking up every common space for the insta photos...it was all just a lot. The staff were accommodating and let us change rooms to a slightly less dirty room after a few days (which for a family five is a task in itself) and the teens cleared out after the parade. The stay got better then, except all the fleas by the pool came out and we were itching like crazy and covered in bites for the rest of the stay.

My husband and I booked this vacation to be a realxing get away for a few days. We just wanted to sit on the beach or by the pool, shop, eat, and enjoy our time together. Our room had a mold odor and we found mold on the air vent. The thermostat for the room was motion detected so we would walk into our room

Property was very clean and maintained. The restaurant and bars offered great drinks and food, room service was also very nice to have. Access to the nicest beach on key west was perfect. Far enough out of town yet close enough to get into the nightlife. Would definitely stay again.

Ants, ants, and more ants. Clumps of hair left on shower wall. Floor dirty windows filthy! Loud music until about 10pm but even louder people at 3:30 in the morning both nights!!!!!! Had ants all over!!!! Even when eating breakfast in the dining area our waitress had to exchange our syrup container because it was completely covered in ants!! Will never go back or recommend this property. For the price we paid we expected much more from this "resort" VERY DISSAPPOINTING!!!!!!!

Very clean

First time staying at Margaritaville and really enjoyed my stay. I booked a one bedroom king suite and it was super comfy, clean and perfect. The check-in process was very swift, they texted and communicated with me prior to arriving and throughout my stay. Great bar and restaurant inside the resort, try the Tostones - super good. Great bartender. And the location was excellent, everything was within reach.

Great location, clean, large rooms

Property was in a perfect location for us. Pool area was a lot of fun. Staff was very friendly. The only criticism is on the showers in the room. The shower head and faucet could definitely be updated. Definitely not a deal breaker though. We still had a wonderful time!

The food and staff were wonderful. We had a nice time. We wished the pool area was larger and that the rooms were better insulated for noisy neighbors.

The hotel is cute but a bit updated , clean and spacious ,comfortable beds and pillows however i booked a King room for 4 people me ,my husband and my two kids and i had to go to the front desk to ask for sheets and blankets ( annoying ) they should have the room equipped with everything specially if the room is being booked for 4 they knew in advance resort fees are insane ! So at minimum do my bed !if i booked for 2 was cheaper but i added my kids and i have to go to front desk to get everything and had to made my kids beds we all had the same problem AC wasn't cool enough! Wouldn't go less than 74 dregrees Pool food and breakfast both great staff my daughter forgot her linen pants the hotel contacted us right away with return options that was very nice as well .Pool isn't super big for such a big hotel but nice enough. In general the stay was ok could definitely been better. The hotel is pretty close to the airport and you have airplanes constantly flying over your head while at the pool !

Property was clean and inviting. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ocean view suite was very roomy and clean. Fridge and microwave made it nice to eat leftovers from dining out. The “ocean view” was somewhat lacking as the beach was across a busy road (with construction and power lines). The room had an awesome sound machine that drowned out the airport and road noise. My only complaint would be that the elevator smelled of toxic mold, but we were luckily in the 2nd floor and used the opportunity to get our steps in! We didn’t use the pool as it was always very crowded, but the ambiance was nice none the less. I would highly recommend this accommodation to my family and friends.

Pool need tile cleaned and our room def needed updating

We paid for three beds (I called to reconfirm it was a bed, not a sleeper sofa) but got two beds and a lumpy bar in the middle sleeper sofa. The "resort view" was of a flat roof with the tops of trees barely visible. Multiple issues with condition of room (poor water pressure, water shot out of bar sink, no place to hang wet towels or clothing closet) and also beach across the street had public restrooms which made the beach area stink-literally of ... The manager did refund resort fee but we would have prefered to pay and get a great room with adequate amenities. We didn't use the pool at all.

We are from Ohio. We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was really clean. The room was nice. We got a king room. The staff were friendly. The shuttle service is awesome and so nice. They provide free trips into town all day and to and from the airport. The manager was able to help us with a late check out for our late flight and held our bags at the desk for us. We rented a moped through concierge which was soo much fun driving around and coming and going as we please. Free parking almost anywhere with a moped all over the city. I highly recommend it.

Hotel lacked customer service. John on the shuttle to town in the morning was amazing… after that was horrible. We enjoyed Key West, but would never stay here again.

Our second time there! They actually saved our whole trip! We checked in at casa marina resort and immediately asked Expedia to relocate us to margaritaville beach house. This place is beautiful, beautiful landscape, beautiful clean rooms. The staff is so friendly, the pool is nice too even with a bunch of people in it you don’t feel like you’re packed in there. The bar and drinks are great, food is probably a 7/10 i’d say. Nice they offer a shuttle to up town. Ocean view room has a beautiful view of smathers beach, also super easy to walk across the street to get onto the beach. The complimentary waters are a huge plus with how hot it is down there. Waters and housekeeping everyday was awesome. We will definitely be back

Staff at the hotel were outstanding, 2 of 3 town shuttle drivers could use some training with manners. Lecturing a bus load of adults because one person was remiss on the RULES. did not see guidelines written anywhere,other than that excellent staff

We LOVED our stay at Margaritaville Beach House Key West! The staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We had a toddler in our party who enjoyed the staff member walking around with a bubble machine, very family friendly! We used the concierge service to book some fun activities, and they made the process so easy. We can't wait to go back!

Margaritaville Hotel was fabulous. Our service was Tops! Clean room, clean restaurant and bar areas! Servers were fabulous. Concierge Kevin was the Man with the info and scheduled excursions for us!! Transportation to and from airport and shuttle dow town hourly...all excellent! We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Highly recommend.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating to us, especially after our initial flight was cancelled and we arrived a day later than originally expected. Room was very clean and comfortable, it was a great base camp for all of our adventures in Key West

The staff at this property was exceptional. We were consistently greeted with a very personable attitude. They never hesitated to meet our needs. I would definitely stay there again. Haythem and Maria made memorable impressions on us.

The shuttle was nice, since the resort is not located near anything of interest. The bar and restaurant is way overpriced and there is no discounts or happy hour for guests.

The staff were amazing!! Super friendly and helpful! Our room was clean and updated. The location is nice but not as close as it appears to walk places. You can rent bikes however to get around. There are very few restaurants close other than the onsite bar which has a limited menu and was just ok. Wish there was a private beach area with seating so you don’t have to pay for lounge chairs. Overall we had a great experience and would stay again.

Great location, just across the street from Smathers Beach. The grounds and pool area are beautiful.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Room had some blemishes. Scratched table, paint chips from wall, paint on shower tiles. Staff was excellent. Facility was very clean. It was unfortunate, that there was road construction going on, not to the hotels fault. But the airplanes overhead and being so close to the airport was a bit noisy.

Very convenient with Restaurant, bar, pool. Beach is right across the street.

Margaritaville is convenient to Key West airport, has short ride to downtown, and has frequent shuttles to the seaport area.

Beautiful place, close proximity to downtown. The beach does have a lot if seaweed and is murky in the shore area but that is nature. I would say more stops on the shuttle would make the experience better

The food isnt great

Our stay was great, however, the food prices were high, & unfortunately for a "Margaritaville" there was hardly any of that decor around the property! I expected the bar/restaurant area to have some sort of that decor, lifestyle look & there was none. Disappointed for sure in that. It was pretty plain. Other than that, it was a nice hotel for the money!

The shuttle was critical because you are aways from Old Town. The shuttle service was excellent. Theres only one pool so it gets crowded and loud. The bar service was excellent and the food was very good. Overall we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thanks to the staff.

We liked the front desk staff, they were extremely personable helpful. The onsite restaurant menu was limited and the bar cocktails were not good( except for complimentary margaritas in lobby when you arrive). Location is not close to any other restaurants/ stores etc. Checkout is 11am which is great, but on the day of check out the cleaning service knocked on our door at 10am and asked us when we were leaving. Resort was clean and shuttle service was good and drop-off/pick-up was at convenient location.

Was pleasantly surprised by the heated pool. I don't believe that was listed when I booked. Only downside was bar menu was very limited. Shrimp was good. Caesar salad was way too heavy on the Parmesan cheese. Key Lime pie wasn't worth it. Burgers were okay, not for the price though. Everything else was great! Plan on dining out instead of eating there.
