I have been staying at this property for over 20 years. Sonesta purchased from Candlewood and now you have to pay for parking for an open private lot, paint was peeling in the room and there was rust on the light fixture in the bathroom. The room was clean. I was there for business so only needed to sleep and shower. Seems like Sonesta is decreasing amenities and increasing cost. Sonesta don’t purchase a building and have the costumer pay for it. Unfortunately, this may be my last stay there. The staff was helpful and very friendly.

Check-in was smooth. Staff friendly and helpful. Ultra clean rooms (we had 2). Lots of amenities, including laundry and very nice gym. Convenient to beach, dining, etc.

Enjoyed the kitchen and that I could borrow a tea kettle. Free use of washers and dryers. We used the gym but three machines were out of order. Hotel staff was good about replenishing any items we asked for.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel however they don't offer breakfast and you can cook in the room but there was not a pan or many utensils available. Also a small TV with very few channels . The outside area around back was nice if you sit outside at night close to the duck pond . More lighting is needed. Overall it was nice but better accomodations could be used.

Fabulous staff so kind and friendly! Room was perfect for what we needed Like that that they have other appliances that you can ask the front desk to use during your stay like a blender or waffle maker etc...wanted to use the air fryer but it was gone our whole stay. I would stay here again we had NO issues! oh the gym does need the wipes refilled as they were out the 3 days we were there.

The room was really clean and the staff was nice. It was almost a perfect stay until the morning of the third day when we found a roach in the bathroom. We left immediately and asked for a refund. Imagine our surprise when they didn’t even fully refund us for the night we weren’t there. I shouldn’t have to live with your bugs or pay for anytime that I was not there especially when you’ll tune around and rent out that same room that night. We left at 11ish which was plenty of time to clean and hopefully spray roach spray. So why were we only partially refunded?

I checked in late after a long travel day. The room that I was in initially smelled like marijuana. The front desk moved me to another room, but the bedding was dirty and I was too tired. I slept in my clothes as to not touch the bedding on my skin and checked out next day and got another room. There was no one at front desk the housekeeping had to take my email and I left. The property needs an upgrade. The door does not sit close to the seal so it’s a big gap when you close the door and that was uncomfortable as a lady staying alone

Although the property is in a business area it was very quiet. Don’t expect to be able to walk for food or shopping. I was a little disappointed in the building in its entirety. It was dated and a little uneasy. It seems they have patched an older building with little to no upgrade. It could definitely use an upgrade to bathrooms and equipment/appliances. Otherwise, our stay was pleasant, but don’t see us revisiting.

Room was very clean and staff was extremely helpful with questions I had. Only thing was the people above me were up all night walking around and being loud which kept waking me up most of the night but other than that it was a great stay and definitely will come back again when I’m in town

The room was actually fine maybe a bit outdated and then the carpet smelled like mold. I don't think there was any mold, just that damp smell. They need to get rid of all carpet, only half the room is carpeted anyway, just get rid of all of it.

Service was amazing until checkout, granted I did leave around 5 am but the lady didn’t give me my an receipt and claimed I’m the third party so I don’t get one although I always stay at that particular hotel and get a receipt. My comforter had buggers from previous guest hardly stuck to them.

I've stayed at a Sonesta property in Baltimore several times, so the name already came with a positive outlook. We just needed somewhere to lay our heads after each day of a music festival nearby. Everyone with whom we interacted was friendly, outgoing, and helpful. I lost a key card the first day and getting a new one took only a few seconds. The room was clean, and the ice maker in the refrigerator was very much appreciated. Most importantly, it was nice and quiet. I would, without hesitation, happily stay here again.

Most of the staff is polite, though some members of the front desk were occasionally a bit curt and unprofessional. The main issue I encountered was with lost and found management. I left early on a Friday morning and unfortunately forgot a large scale in my room, which I had purchased for my trip. When I returned in the afternoon to retrieve it, the front desk told me that nothing had been found. Considering the size of the item, I’m surprised it wasn’t located. I leave it to the readers to draw their own conclusions about the quality of the housekeeping service. If it weren’t for this incident, I would have rated my stay higher.

Visited the Hampton area with my wife and daughter since our daughter was just accepted into Hampton University. Hotel stay was ok until the last day. Prior to my arrival i was offered an upgrade of late check out, which i accepted. On the last night of my stay, I checked with front desk to confirm arrangement and was advised that they typically do not allow late check out on Sundat but she will honor the offer and allow for a 12pm check out. The next morning, promptly at 11am, house keeping knocked on my door. My wife answered and advised that we were getting ready to check out and didn't need house keeping. 10 minutes later , house keeping is again at the door, but banging this time. I answered the door and the voice on the other side said "check out is at 11". I responded, we were given late check out until 12 but we will be out of here in 15 minutes. The voice rudely replied "we do not do late check out, i don't know who told you that but yall gotta go". I shut the door to avoid back and forth. 3 minutes later, front desk called to tell us we had to leave. I reiterated the late check-out, she stated we didn't have a late check out and I said ok, we're leaving. 3 minutes later, she called again to make sure we were leaving. Upon exit, I stopped by the front desk and provided email proof of the upgrade to which she responded (in short) "sorry, you can stay until 12 if you want". As if we wanted to spend another second in their outdated Hotel.

I am contacting you because I have still not received my $200 hold refund, and after everything I experienced during my two-day stay, I am demanding a full refund for both nights immediately. I also expect someone to call me directly right now to resolve this. What happened at your hotel was beyond unacceptable, especially for a place that claims to be under new management. The conditions and behavior I witnessed were shocking. I personally heard front desk staff mocking guests and speaking about them with complete disrespect. Property appears a lil bit dated but served its purpose for a 1 night quick stay. Overall was comfortable, felt safe, staff was very kind and helpful. It appeared clean which is very important to me but had a bleach smell that I wish wasn’t so noticeable. Great location and accessibility to highway and local sights.

Pet friendly and plenty of restaurants, gas stations and shopping just a couple miles away. Its right by the naval base so will see and hear a lot of fighter jet training flyovers during the day.

Clean, affordable and convenient. Stay was great and as expected. Enjoyed that hotel was located within business park-away from hustle and bustle, yet still convenient to dining and shopping. Front desk was polite and efficient. Only negative was lingering cars playing loud music at presumed shift change for staff. Would definitely stay again.

We arrived late in the night and just wanted to get in and go to bed. The air conditioner barely worked so we were warm through the night. When we woke up the next morning we expected a coffee station near the lobby and were informed there was not. We needed to use the coffee pot in our room. We went back up to make coffee and the pot was not working. Called the front desk and the young girl at the desk by the name of Easter said she would send a new pot. After 20 min we did not receive a new pot so we called and again Easter picked up the phone and said (with an attitude) i am working on getting you a new pot and hung up. A few minutes later Easter called back and asked us to check the plug to make sure it didnt need to be reset. We explained we already tried that she again hung up on us. I returned the call and asked her if there was a problem as she continued to hang up on us and why her attitude was so unprofessional and she replied that she did not have an attitude. Finally housekeeping showed up with a new pot and we tried the same plug and it did not work. We tried a completely different outlet and it worked. The ladies apologized for the inconvenience and were very pleasant. Now back to the room. This hotel was very run down. There were cracks in the wall and carpet was worn out. There were only 2 coffee cups(and 1 was dirty) there was no glassware and the silverware was dirty. The tub would not drain properly. No dish towels.

The person that checked me in indicated the site was formerly a Candlewood and that Sonesta merely out their branding on the site but did not really adjust operations. I agree, whirl check in was friendly, my room was next to the hosuekeeping staff huddle area. The doors in the rooms are poor for soundprooofing so i woke up to loud talking each morning of the stay. Although this is an extneded stay hotel i wouldve expected some level of house keeping service, but never received any dueing a 4 day stay. There was no breakfast and the dishes in the room were minimal for copking. This by far is the worst Sonesta experience I've had. I do not recommend and will not return if I'm in the area again.

I like the room itself--Bed, Desk and TV were appreciated. Since it's not close to real grocery stores, the on-site store could have been better. And I appreciate a working clock so my phone doesnt have to do double duty as alarm, overseer. Easy to find and friendly staff!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel however they don't offer breakfast and you can cook in the room but there was not a pan or many utensils available. Also a small TV with very few channels . The outside area around back was nice if you sit outside at night close to the duck pond . More lighting is needed. Overall it was nice but better accomodations could be used.

The hotel is out dated. I realized the next morning there a piece of a condom wrapper in between m6 pillows and the comfoter had stains on it. I showed to front desk. Said general manager would reach out and they did not. No coffee available for guests in the lobby.

Fabulous staff so kind and friendly! Room was perfect for what we needed Like that that they have other appliances that you can ask the front desk to use during your stay like a blender or waffle maker etc...wanted to use the air fryer but it was gone our whole stay. I would stay here again we had NO issues! oh the gym does need the wipes refilled as they were out the 3 days we were there.

I was leary about my extended stay here at the Sonesta Suites in Hampton after reading the reviews. I have had a few hiccups but the front desk and maintenance took care of my concerns everytime, quickly and efficiently. My traveling partners, which is my daughter and infant granddaughter, are really enjoying our time here and would highly recommend this location to others. The double or queen (don’t recall which one we had) was comfy enough, but it did sag a bit to my husband’s side when he got in. The pillows were comfortable. For breakfast we found a yummy coffee shop with food a 5-minute drive away. They gave us 2 free water bottles when we checked in.
