The A/C didn’t work this time. There always seems to be something broken at this hotel. We’ve had soaking wet floors, dehumidifiers, broken pool, hot tub, and now no A/C in the common areas. It’s clear they do not take care of the facility. I had the displeasure of running into one of the maintenance staff this visit. He was extremely rude and almost ran me over.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were courteous and helpful for checking in and out. We were a bit disappointed, though, in the temperature of the water and surrounding space of the indoor pool. Yes, I know this sounds wimpy, but just be aware that it seems barely heated and quite chilly if you’re wanting to swim.

The hotel is very nice albeit beginning to show its age. The location is excellent and the indoor pool was inviting although we did not use it. I like a hotel with a bar available although, again, we had a rather busy trip and did not use it. My only real complaint is the slow, small and creaky elevator that serves the entire hotel.

My favorite hotel to stay in Lawrence. Not particularly close to anything, but it is large, clean and typically affordable. No free breakfast, although they have breakfast vouchers (which you do NOT get when booking through 3rd party apps) kinda a bummer, I did try asking for some anyways, but was turned down. Pool was closed at my last stay.

Was told over the phone the pool and hot tub were in operation which was the main reason I chose this hotel. Upon check in I was told they were not in operation due to repairs. I realize hotels need to make money but lying to get people to stay is absolutely wrong. I was given the opportunity to cancel my reservation without charges, however, it was later in the evening already and we are from now it of town and needed a hotel at that moment. That would’ve been impossible for us to do. What a crock! I will never stay at a doubletree again and I will always give others a bad review of the chain.

A price point that you would expect at least 95% of the property working and maintenance up to speed. The general facility was not the cleanest . The indoor pool was freezing and the hot tub was out of order. Elevator panels not secured with screws. The room size with two queen beds was very tight. Bathroom was nice but ceiling tiles were not installed properly. I have stayed in many hotels for less that impressed me more.

Elevator by our room was not working but the stairs were! Pool was nice and open. Nice workout facility. The breakfast was not included and the selection not so much. We had a room with a living room type area with a half kitchen.

We enjoyed our stay except for one thing. We had a handicapped accessible room, and the bottom of the tub was very slippery. I ended up putting a hand towel on the area where I stood to prevent a fall. I would think it would present a liability problem for the hotel. Perhaps a bath mat to put in the tub would be advisable.

It is basically a maze to find your room. I’m not kidding. Also, our room needed a dehumidifier. Everything felt damp and it smelled musty. Nothing was dirty, it was just uncomfortable.

We were in town visiting friends and family. Overall our stay was excellent! My elderly mother and I shared a first floor accessible room with 2 queen beds, which was just what we wanted. The room had most everything we needed; however, there were a few things I’d like to relay to perhaps make the next guests more comfortable. There was a coffee pot available that we couldn’t use because of non-working outlets. My mother had 3 essential electrical devices that required charging in addition to my cell phone; again no easily accessible working outlets except in the bathroom. There were a total of 6 that weren’t usable. No hooks or towel bars in the bathroom, except the assist bar next to the toilet. The bathtub was very slippery and dangerous to an older person who is already unsteady on her feet. I ended up purchasing a non-slip bathtub mat and a couple of Command hooks to use during our stay. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others visiting the Lawrence area.

The lobby of the hotel was deceiving, it was big and open —very clean. Our room felt damp upon entering. The wall paper was peeling off the walls in many places, I assume from the dampness, and the room had a very unusual smell. I do think they had cleaned the room, but it’s age and things that we’re looking old/ stained made it feel unclean. I reported the dampness, but was only offered a fan, no change of room was offered.

The building was nice and the staff was friendly. When I checked into the room the bathroom had mold in the grout and excessive mold throughout the shower. I took a picture showed the front desk, they agreed it was disgusting, they moved me to another room, mold in the bathroom again all around the toilet and in the shower again. If the bathrooms can’t be maintained, it made me wonder what else isn’t cleaned. I slept one night in my clothes on top of the sheets, slipped the shower. Complete waste of $160

To start we had to wait several minutes when checking in because there was no one around or at the desk. Then the person who helped us finally walked up to the desk but did not apologize and was very solemn. She was not rude just very mater of fact. Gave me my key without telling me the room number. Our room had some small issues with mold in corners but the worst was how slippery the bath tub was. Our room was a handicap assessable room, we did not need it to be but my concern is how slippery the bath tub was for a handicap person. My husband fell while taking a shower and was pretty bruised up from the fall. After the fact we should of said something when it happened but did not. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed but definitely probably won't return.

Bed bugs - woke up with 15 to 20 bite marks on my stomach and legs. I was shocked. The hotel was otherwise fine, I was driving through and paid a little more for peace of mind. It was my first experience ever dealing with bites upon waking.

Property was dingy and dirty. It appeared the hallways hadn't been cleaned or vacuumed in a long time and there was visible debris all over the carpets. Our room had a really strong/overpowering damp/musty odor and the linens did not feel very clean. There was also a large youth team of some kind staying at the property, and they not only caused a lot of noise and disruption, but also made the pool area virtually unusable and were not attended by adults. The property staff did not seem to care. We ended up leaving and not staying the night.

The hotel was a little weird. We had an interior, no view room. When we entered the room, I noticed we had a window. When we opened the curtain, we had a “view” of a strange, dark hallway! But, other than that, the staff were friendly and our room was clean.

Well lit parking lot. Very friendly front end staff and very helpful in answering questions. Breakfast staff were the best. Two super amazing waitresses took care of everything for us from creamer to coffee to cleaning up. They rock. Check out staff was also amazing as the check in staff. What s great team of people. Best service I've had in years.

Nice hotel, spacious rooms, clean. However dissatisfied with front desk services, not very resourceful or helpful when I reported an item left behind by my daughter who had checked out a day earlier. I was passed around to leave voicemails for housekeeping, lied to when told the head of housekeeping was the only person with access to lost and found and there was nothing I could do. When I checked out I asked for the manager, she quickly went to find the personal item left behind, it was still in the room my daughter left it in. Just lazy service at front desk. Manager did step in and resolved the issue quickly.

I told agent upon check in I would pay cash at check out, 1 day prior to check out I was notified “my card kept declining” Why was my card being charged a day prior to check out!! And I was locked out of my room! Terribly inconvenient and frustrating and unprofessional!!

The check in was terrible I had the the expectation that the check out can be better (I was wrong) was far more terrible, I don't understand why if I asked that charge the room cost in full in advance and then I provide another credit card for another charges during my stay, they blocked my card with the full amount in the check in and then charge again the full amount in the check out so (temporally - three days) I paid twice my stay, the front desk staff is terrible, they do not understand thee voice of the customer, they do not care your needs if you can go to another hotel DO IT!!

Checkbin is by 4:00pm.We got there at 3:00pm and the room wasnt ready.Came back at 4 and the receptionist said give it about 10 more mins.We waited 30 mins and the room still wasnt done.When we finally checked in it was almost 5.Plus the room had not been cleaned at all.The table had stains and there was kids clothing behind the couch.There was no soap or anything in the bathroom.The outside area had dirty cobwebs on the ceiling and all the elevators were broken so we had to walk all the way around everytime we left the room.Will never come back.The receptionist was also kind of rude.It wasnt welcoming at all.

The hotel is very well maintained. The beds are super comfy. The staff is very friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning staff , everyone is very accommodating. I would definitely recommend and I would absolutely stay here again.

I purposefully stayed at the hotel because it was close to the party that I was visiting. I wanted to walk to my friend's home. I know that this is more of a city issue, but the lack of sidewalks around the adjacent four way intersection had me walking on grass and over street curbs. The intersection was only open to pedestrian crossing at two out of the four way crossings. A continental breakfast would have been welcomed, especially at the well above average lodging price.

Staff was very friendly. Overall, didn’t seem like a well run hotel. Maybe it was just a bad weekend for them. Checked in through Hilton app but still had to check in at desk to show id. Room was missing body wash. Breakfast overpriced and service was lacking. Had to go to lobby to fill coffee cup as server didn’t come by. At one point they ran out of coffee. Nobody running omelette station. Room was ok

I found the property to be rather run down - older building, but you can tell from the walls, ceiling, etc. The hot tub was also under maintenance, which was part of the reason I booked this hotel - some advance notice would have been appreciated. And, I thought it was a bit rich to charge for breakfast buffet when other hotels offer for free as part of staying at their hotel.

Super friendly staff! Nice bar and restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast on weekends needs to start at 6am and not 7am. I could hear someone on a cell phone talking in the next room. But all in all, I would stay again at this hotel.

The breakfast cost over $20 for breakfast. Very expensive, ok quality but definitely not worth the money. I thought I had paid for it with my room but found out it had not gone through and was billed over $40.00 for 2. Bad deal. The restaurant had shut down so ver little amenities. I had stayed in Portland Oregon. Much nicer. Was somewhat disappointed in the Lawrence Kansas location

Had a lovely stay at the double tree in Lawrence. Convenient location. Employees & service were great. Indoor pool was fun. Breakfast was delicious but very limited dinner selection, three choices.
