Brought suits. Knew there was a pool but it was closed. Like permanently covered. Bed was a little hard. Woke up with a backache. Didn’t eat at the desk bc it had some dirt on the top. Desk chair was all torn up. Tv signal kept cutting out all Night and it wasn’t storming or raining. Remote wasn’t programmed to work the tv so two remotes. One for cable. One for volume. Breakfast was apparently just cereal so we just went down the street and got donuts. But we had picked this place bc it had breakfast.

Had to take room on 2nd floor with outside steps and entry. They were updating lower floor rooms. No elevator. I am slightly handicapped, so I don't recommend for HC folks. Otherwise everything else was okay. Very small room though. Expedia app said breakfast included, but there was no breakfast.

The Econo Lodge is a good budget motel. Close to restaurants and grocery. 5 min. drive to KU campus. Our room was clean, modestly updated with new flooring and shower area. Working ice machine, vending and laundry. Room heat/AC worked great. Mini-fridge and microwave included. Manager was very friendly and helpful.

Clean room with good TV. No ice bucket and ice machine not working. Pool appeared to be abandoned. Continental breakfast was almost nonexistent with no juice or yogurt even. Facility shows decline. I hope they get busy and correct. A family type operation that needs help. People were courteous.

We were disappointed in cost at about $200 a night but we’re hoping for a good night sleep and hot breakfast when we booked! When we got here Found beds comfy, room smelled good, price dropped, pool was closed. No other amenities, shower doesn’t drain, Bathroom commode / toilet in separate room and is very crowded with shower. And the worst breakfast ends at 9am and not Hot - it’s grab and go donuts and coffee. We could have stayed elsewhere for less with a lot more to do and hot breakfast!

The rooms were not clean. Very run down. The room safes don’t work. There was not a double lock on the door. One room had a brown liquid coming thru the floor boards. I would not recommend staying at the this location.

This was by far the worst hotel that I've ever stayed in! I wasn't expecting the Hilton, but for what I paid, I DID expect cleanliness and this establishment was FAR from clean! There was dirt, hair, and spilled/dried up beverages all over the room. Dirt and hair caked in every corner of the bathroom. Mold all over the bathroom "walls" (it was actually flooring tile on the tub walls which is not meant for high moisture areas) dried fluids of some kind on the bathroom walls and baseboards, dried up pile of feces and/or vomit on the floor next to the bed, broken light fixtures, broken computer desk, broken tv remote, broken phone, paper thin walls, smelled horribly of cigarette smoke, black body hairs in the bedsheets, sticky spots (soda?) on counters and mirrors, and the bedside table had gunk and dirt CAKED all around the bottom of it! As for their "continental breakfast", it consisted of 2 dry cereal choices, bruised bananas, toast, and a tub of COMMUNITY BUTTER for EVERYONE to use. Gross. The room was drafty and cold. You could see daylight coming in all around the door to our room because it is not properly sealed. One of the holes was about the size of a dime and was directly at the bottom of the entrance to the room (concerning). No refunds either. I tried to upload photos for proof, but can't. This hotel clearly does not follow Choice protocols when it comes to their cleanliness standards. I will be filing a formal complaint with Choice Hotels, as well as the BBB.

The air was not on when we got there and it was hot and smelled terrible. There was pubic hair in the bathtub, the flooring had had water damage and not replace, the pool was still covered and not in use not that I was there to swim by any means but it is June and hot outside. The breakfast was white or wheat toast, two cereal options, cinnamon or hostess cupcake in packages- not anything like it looked online. I booked for two night but checked out after one night at 6:45 am. I was a nervous wreck all night. Nothing like I expected. Tried to get a refund for the second night that we didn't set for but you said no.

Very very old fixtures, fridge, microwave. However very clean. My room was small but I do not need much space. I have personally seen and purchased nicer chairs and tables at Goodwill. The desk chair did not adjust, so I sat as a low rider at the desk. Mrs. Patel (mgr) is very kind and suggestfull of places to see in Lawrence. The internet reception kept going in and out so I had to re-connect frequently.

I have no real words. The first room I was given was already occupied. The second room assigned had a non-working lock, so I moved a chair to keep the door secure. If I was going to stay longer I would have changed rooms for a third time. The WIFI wasn't strong enough to watch T.V. or use a computer. Just not a well maintained establishment.

The staff were amazing and doing the best they could in the situation. But when I arrived for check in I was informed they didn’t have working room keys so each time I wanted to get in the room I had to get in touch with them to be let in. Was staying in town for NYE so was obviously going to be coming in late at night. Which I did inform the staff of when I checked in and they again did their absolute best to accommodate but it still wound up with me waiting in the cold to have my room I paid for unlocked. If this had been communicated somehow I probably wouldn’t have booked here and I would hesitate to do so in the future.

The wonderful couple that runs this hotel are truly wonderful. They love the community and want you to truly enjoy your stay… if anything is missing or you need extra supplies politely ask they are more than willing to accommodate. I’ve been treated so kindly while traveling with my children

I've stayed in my fair share of motels over the years, but this had to be the worst experience I've ever had. The place was ok, not great, which was what we expected, all we needed was a place to crash and get some sleep for one night. The trouble started around 2:00 AM, loud jumping and stomping around in the room above us, then escalating to yelling. We tried calling the front desk, but no answer, got dressed and went up, it was locked --apparently they don't staff the place at night and no one monitors the phone! We tried sleeping again with loud white noise turned all the way up, but it didn't help. The yelling turned worse and it sounded like they were arguing and possibly on something. We finally called the police, and that helped for a little bit (the cop was also surprised the front desk was closed) and couldn't get the people in the room to answer. In the morning we tried to see about getting a refund, but the lady at the desk didn't have the power to do that. We asked for a call from management... it's been two days and counting and no word back. Very frustrating, we just wanted a safe place to sleep and couldn't even get that!

I booked a room for 4 nights as i was in town for work, on day 3 we moved work locations and i checked out a day early. I asked for a refund for the final night the lady said that i have to go through Hotels.com to get my refund. I contacted them and they said that they will get ahold of the property manager and see what they can do. They refused my refund and charged me for a night that i wasn't even there

I checked in for one night in January and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The room I got had chips in the bed and the pillows were yellow and filthy. I went down to the desk to switch rooms, not too happy because I was exhausted and it was cold outside. They gave me a different room, which i appreciated. However, I had left some items up in my original room and had to go back to the front desk to have them let me back in to the first room to grab them. They did. Then I realized that I had left my cell phone in my first room and had to go BACK to the front desk to have them let me in again. The guy working the front desk actually said to me "You've already been back in here 2 times ma'am", as if I was doing something wrong. Guess what? I wouldnt have HAD to come back to the desk at all if I had been placed in a room that wasn't dirty! Another employee did apologize to me for his coworker's behavior when I checked out the next day, but I don't appreciate being shamed for having to deal with an inconvenience THEY caused. I'll never stay here again.

Then I realized that I had left my cell phone in my first room and had to go BACK to the front desk to have them let me in again. The guy working the front desk actually said to me "You've already been back in here 2 times ma'am", as if I was doing something wrong. Guess what? I wouldnt have HAD to come back to the desk at all if I had been placed in a room that wasn't dirty! Another employee did apologize to me for his coworker's behavior when I checked out the next day, but I don't appreciate being shamed for having to deal with an inconvenience THEY caused. I'll never stay here again.

Was a quiet place to stay. Towels were all stained with something with an orange color to it. The lamp next to the TV was hanging off of the wall. Screen windows were pretty beat up from the looks as if someone was trying to get in at one point. Had some questionable people hanging around outside at night. Definitely lock you're vehicles.

The Econo Lodge is a good budget motel. Close to restaurants and grocery. 5 min. drive to KU campus. Our room was clean, modestly updated with new flooring and shower area. Working ice machine, vending and laundry. Room heat/AC worked great. Mini-fridge and microwave included. Manager was very friendly and helpful.

Hair dryer didn't work, no iron, and tub bottom was super slippery. Room had connecting door to other room but didn't sound like a double door. Could hear every word from people on room next door. Didn't feel safe and ended up changing hotels.

Clean room with good TV. No ice bucket and ice machine not working. Pool appeared to be abandoned. Continental breakfast was almost nonexistent with no juice or yogurt even. Facility shows decline. I hope they get busy and correct. A family type operation that needs help. People were courteous.

We were disappointed in cost at about $200 a night but we’re hoping for a good night sleep and hot breakfast when we booked! When we got here Found beds comfy, room smelled good, price dropped, pool was closed. No other amenities, shower doesn’t drain, Bathroom commode / toilet in separate room and is very crowded with shower. And the worst breakfast ends at 9am and not Hot - it’s grab and go donuts and coffee. We could have stayed elsewhere for less with a lot more to do and hot breakfast!
