Have stayed many times before and have really enjoyed it. Nice clean rooms, quiet, great staff and tons of things to do around town. This stay wasn’t as good as the rest but still enjoyed it. My family and I come for the pool and hot tub. This stay how ever was disappointing because the pool was very gross. Usually the pool is well kept and this trip it had chunks of hair and other unknown debris floating around everywhere in it and very cloudy water. Bonus, we did learn that we could order drinks down at the lounge and bring them back up to our room! The bloody Mary’s and long islands were so good.

One night stay with my family while driving through Michigan. Front desk staff very nice, parking is easy, kids loved the pool and I liked how clean the gym and hotel in general was. Only small complaint is that the AC unit in the room was very loud and we were four guest but the room only provided 3 towels. Otherwise great and would definitely stay again.

Overall, OK. Main issues were multiple conferences when we were there (good for them, but made things crazy busy). And 1 of the 2 elevators were out of order. And did I mention multiple conferences going on...with 1 elevator! Great location though and overall decent hotel. And oh, yeah, they never emailed me my receipt!

All was good at this hotel. One elevator was down so that was a bit inconvenient & we were stuffed in tight with every coming & going. The shower had some hairs in it and the toilet was not clean enough. They were good about bringing us more towels & a blanket. Front desk staff were nice.

The bathroom was disgusting. I feel like they tried to renovate but left things short. There was no body wash in the shower. There was hair everywhere in the bathroom. The shower barely had any pressure. Not worth $160/night. You’re better off staying at the Comfort inn next door

The hotel itself is very nice and the staff is kind and helpful. Our room was unfortunately not cleaned well. There were very large brownish/rusty colored stains on the bedding, food left in the fridge and food on the floor from prior guests, the sink would not drain and the room smelled a bit old and musty. There was not coffee in the lobby that we could see besides Starbucks out of a machine for $4.00. We do not plan to stay here again. The property is nice and the rivewalk is also enjoyable. You are walking distance from many restaurants and small shops. For the price, I would choose to instead stay at the Comfort Inn next door for half the price with similar views and dining/shopping options.

Breafast was NOT free and NOT worth the price. Our room was supposed to have been smoke-free, but had definitely been smoked in. The room was hot and could not turn the temp down any lower. The furniture was a bit dated and beat/banged up. The bed was fairly comfortable.

If you want a throwback to the 1990s, this is the place to go. Far from modern with a smoky-scent to the room we were given. The shower curtain was moldy, but the very kind staff person replaced it immediately. The room was small for the price we paid but had a wonderful view of the drawbridge and water. The pool at this hotel is for small children. The deepest point is 3.5ft. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and the drunken wedding party in the hallway was addressed by security at least once, maybe twice. This is definitely the lowest, “high end” hotel we have stayed in. We will make another choice if we visit Bay City again. The friendly-staff just doesn’t make up for the very much expired decor and unpleasant odor of the room. Time to have those big decision makers upgrade the rooms and pool to reflect the high price they expect people to pay. The money is there so raise staff pay and update your hotel. Trump would not be proud.

We checked into the hotel room late in the evening. Everything looked good but the A/C did not work. It was hot and uncomfortable for the amount of money we paid. I did inform the front desk that the A/C was not working. They sent someone to fix it and it appeared to work for the moment. We were in town for a funeral so we were gone all day. When we return later that night, the A/C was still not working. It was hot and uncomfortable.

Great stay from start to finish. Friendly staff at the front desk. The cookie you get on check in was amazing. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and plenty of blankets. Bathrooms had a luxurious feel with great pressure and heat from the shower. Room had a beautiful view of the river. Would stay again!

In our room, the air conditioning would be VERY noisy as it came on repeatedly all night. Also, our room (229) possibly had the most unattractive view possible with only a view of the adjoining roof covered with mechanical equipment. Why were we assigned this room when the hotel did not seem crowded and we made the reservation weeks ago? The hotel and room itself was lovely and we enjoyed a nice dinner on their outside patio but our nighttime experience was very poor as we got little sleep.

Check in was friendly and quick. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I liked the option of logging onto my streaming accounts easily on the tv. Houskeeping staff was friendly and did not rush us out. Breakfast was not free but worth the price. Everything was warm with many options. We will stay here again in the future.

Staff was great. Our room wasn't ready exactly at check in time, but staff was very nice and apologetic about it. Our TV didn't seem to work, but maintenance came up within a few minutes and was able to fix it. Overall very nice hotel and staff was outstanding.

I called before we went to share that I was claustrophobic and just had knee surgery. I spoke with Tricia who assured me that I could have a room on the second floor. When I arrived, my room was on the fourth floor. I was told that because I booked the room through Hotels.com they could not change my room. I had to leave the hotel and walk around the building to get access to the stairs. It was a blustery night. The key would not work in the door. I walked back in to the hotel and they gave me another key. I went back in to the cold weather and that second key wouldn't work either. The cleaning staff told me to go back outside to the door and she would open it. It took quite some time for the the door to be opened. The next morning the door issue (needed a new battery) was not resolved and I had to wait in the lobby for a long time. Staff shared that the elevators were going to be replaced in 2 years so that made me even less willing to go in to the small elevator. I felt like a second class citizen because I booked through third party. I would never go to this DoubleTree again nor would I recommend it. Breakfast was not part of our package but due to all the craziness of the stay, the manager gave us a free breakfast.

The hotel is in a beautiful location downtown by the water. The staff throughout the entire hotel were friendly and catered to our needs. The restaurant had a breakfast buffet that served bacon and sausage daily. When I made a mistake in ordering dinner, my mistake was fixed up by the staff so that I received a dinner that I suited my needs. I would recommend this for a great experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the Double Tree Riverfront hotel in Bay City. The staff was very friendly and professional. The only issue we had was that the bathroom sink was clogged and did not drain properly. We reported it 3 ways; to the front desk staff; to housekeeping staff; and in a text message regarding our stay. It did not get addressed while we were there, and it was a problem. Everything else was very good...great location, and room was very clean. Overall, a great mini-vacation.

The friday night manager Tabatha did a great job. James seem new but was very nice. Because we rented through expedia there was confusion on payment was handle swiftly and accurately. There was also a lobby for of older German ladies. And they did a wonderful job getting them their rooms, and helping them despite some instances of the older ladies udder confusion and language barriers. The room was huge and nice. The bed was comfy and the shower hot (although the presure was lackluster, I like the pressure to wash away my sins because it's so strong). I talk to multlple cleaning staff and they were super nice. If you see Mary give her a big hug from me. I would say the only improvements is the light in the bedroom has a error where it would turn off after a minute.

The location is fantastic. All of the staff were polite, helpful; excellent. Great view of the river and easy access to the riverwalk. Clean, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and very good breakfast. The only bad thing about our stay was that we were only staying for one night. Will definitely return for a longer stay.

Great property but unfortunately the kitchen took way way too long. Over an hour and 40 min for food. When its the biggest night for property with fireworks i highly recommended they dont schedule a private event and tell us they have cater them first.

The service was fabulous. I asked for a hypo allergenic room and it was ready at check in. I also appreciate the allergy free cookies. The room was clean with the exception of the toilet. It just needed a good scrubbing under the rim (I could see it when walking in the room). All the employees were friendly and no one came knocking on the door prior to check out time. We always appreciate that. We had a two queen room. One of the beds was in desperate need of replacement. It had a deep hole in the middle. The bar/grill was great for drinks. The food was not good at all, but this is common with all hotel restaurants we have visited. The drinks were delicious and the ambiance was relaxing. Overall, the hotel was clean and quiet. I will stay here again.
