Very friendly staff. Excellent provided breakfast. Clean cozy rooms. The heat/air conditioner worked great. Nice showers. Comfortable bed and bedding. Big flat screen tv. The mini fridge was a good size with a Freezer. Lots of good shopping/food places around. I liked that the rooms have outside access so it was more privacy

Exterior is very run down, parking lot in poor condition, old cars in lot looked like people were living in them, key not required to enter the stairwells or the causeways, made the property feel unsafe

The room did the job. I needed a place to stay vs. traveling home to SE Michigan and returning back to mid-Michigan the next day. It met my basic needs. I would definitely utilize this property again if I needed a quick place to stay, but the fitness center... left me wanting.

The staff was friendly at the front desk. The room was dirty. Stuff on the floor, cob webs all over, leaky toliet, used toliet paper left for our use, mini fridge durty, surfaces dirty like they were not wiped down.

This place is not disgusting; just really dirty. There are stains on the sheets, and I found more than 3 bugs in my room. I would not dare walk around anywhere without shoes. No hot water. The cable was out more than it was on and it was a HUGE hassle trying to get internet. Will not be staying again.

The peoperty was not maintained. The hallway smelled of smoke & was littered. Carpets badly in need of steam cleaning. Room was not clean. We had to clean washroom with disinfectant wipes. Sheets & towels were clean. The carpet in the room needs steam cleaning. Overall a.terrible.place to stay.

It is a motel. Room cleanliness is subjective, specially the bathroom was not properly cleaned. Reason to book this is the convenience to MSU. Breakfast is also disappointing.

Not the cleanest room. The floor and toilet were dirty and they definitely don't clean behind the furniture at all. Ok for one night and conveniently located. You could probably find somewhere else for not much more with a cleaner room.

the room was clean on the surface, but there were cleanliness issues that required deeper cleaning. the shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty and dirt has collected near pourer. Refrigerator was a bit dirty inside and iced up. the bed was comfortable and noise was at a minimum. a couple of tv issues, but got those done for the most part. Staff was the best part, which helps. Thanks

This is a good value. The property is older but was overall clean and staff was friendly. Couple things that were not so great were that the day we checked in there was a strong chemical smell from the room. We had to run the AC for hours before that went away. Additionally during the night there was someone lifting heavy stuff and walking with heavy steps for many hours during the night starting around 11pm. I called the front desk multiple times and told them that is is not acceptable and that people need to sleep. They were apologetic but told me that they cannot do anything about the walking. On calling them again they said they will see what they can do and nothing changed. Finally around 1am I gave up and I had to put headphones on with white noise to go back to sleep.

Stayed for twelve nights over three weeks- staff was friendly and whatnot, but the building was poorly maintained, with terrible WiFi and limited cellular service, breakfast was nothing more than cold cereal and a bagel, and toliets in three out of four rooms ran all night. Great, friendly staff- cleaners were nice and courteous, and front staff never seemed unhappy at job.

The room was clean and updated, but this was a light sleeper’s nightmare. Noises from inside and outside the room were unnerving. There is no insulation between rooms and you get to hear everything happening outside and around the room (tvs, conversations, traffic on the street, etc) and everything inside the room like the fridge, heating unit and radio (which I eventually unplugged) all made noise all night. If you are a light sleeper have earplugs or stay somewhere else.

Door had a quarter inch gap under it and iwth it being outside facing, the gap was so large leaves could blow in and no doubt insects if in summer time of year. Had to push a towel in the gap as it was 10 degrees out. Wall heater would only tun on for 20 seconds at a time. Shut off and in 2-5 mins would tunr on again for a short time. Odd. Not overly clean or updated at all. We called to have out room cleaned on Sunday - came back Sunday night and it was never cleaned, no clen towels. (3 night stay)

Front desk mgr Starr and Melissa were perfectly wonderful to me. Construction on Starbucks across the street was terrible, but the general location was great. Beds were. Very high but super comfy.

Three different and RUDE Housekeepers came to our door without knocking and pushed the door. We told them we are packing up and getting out soon but they didn’t have any communication even with their manager and they were coming one after another!!! It was only 15 minutes passed the check out time and one of the workers who was a man, was waiting outside and giving an angry look to my girlfriend and scared her. Very RUDE and POOR housekeeping service and of course I will report that Harassment to the right place!

I've stayed at this hotel for three days, and all three were a pleasure. The employees such as Melissa were super friendly and helpful throughout my visit. For example, there was a problem with the cable tv, so I requested maintenance to solve the issue. Melissa and another girl who I unfortunately can't recall her name came asap and fixed the problem successfully! If I knew all the employees' names who I interacted with, I'd acknowledge all of them.

I made a reservation at this hotel. But, due to my mistake, the reservation was not completed and I was unable to stay at this hotel. Seeing my distress, a female hotel staff kindly helped me find another hotel. Although I was unable to stay at this hotel, I can assure that the staff are very wonderful.

Was given a king room and when we arrived the lock on the automatic door was broken so it would lock and unlock every minute or so. When we asked for another room we were told they only had double beds available which wouldn’t work for two people at the price we were paying. When we told we were leaving and requested a refund we were told only the manager could approve that and now they had a king room available but it was marked as not clean in their system. We said we didn’t feel comfortable staying in a room marked unclean and left. I’ve now called the manager 3 times for a refund and he hasn’t returned my calls. Do not recommend, horrible customer service.

We paid $300 a night for 2 nights, totaling almost $700 for the stay. No housekeeping service was provided and we had to bring towels to the front desk to exchange. Upon checkout, I expressed my displeasure to James and his response was “ the rooms aren’t normally $300, but for the football game the price is higher.” I told him that wasn’t my point, but that for that type of money housekeeping should be included. His reply was, “ housekeeping messed up”. Unacceptable response-what a rip off ! I would have expected some type of compensation-none was offered.

The room was clean, staff nice. They are a 2-3 star hotel the location is excellent t for MSU, Walls are thin you can hear everything, one of the rooms we had someone had smoked and it smell of smoke. We left the fan on to lighten the smell. There is a Whole Foods & Trader Joe’s next door, it was great to get a really god cup of coffee or snacks. Overall the room was good

it’s right next to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s and has lots of food options on the same street so it’s super combiner to find food and necessities if you’re there without a rental car. also like 13mins from msu.

We arrived late Friday night, the staff at the front desk was very nice. Our room was around the back of the bldg which seemed very sketchy. The room was very nice and clean, there were people hanging around outside smoking weed and talking very loud. In the morning there were 2 people standing outside our room and I think they were both strung out on drugs. Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Every time I go to East Lansing I stay at the Clarion. It is perfectly located. Close to where my friend lives and campus and downtown are a couple of minutes away. It’s clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are friendly and competent. I will continue to stay there when I’m in East Lansing.

I’ve stayed at this hotel before and things were fine. This time wasn’t great! We arrived late in the evening, after 11pm. Parking was scarce, the parking lot was a mess (pot holes, no visible parking spaces, dimly light, poorly plowed). We arrived at our second floor room to find that the heat had not been turned on at all when the outside temperature was below 20 degrees. It took the room over two hours to warm up enough that my daughter stopped shivering and could fall asleep. The television didn’t work, but the television in a nearby room worked loud enough for us to hear it all night long! The breakfast on Sunday mornings is apparently served later than other days of the week, so we didn’t get any breakfast. We didn’t get much sleep, we’re worried about the safety of our vehicle, froze ourselves, and didn’t get any breakfast, not worth the money.

The breakfast was limited and the tables aren't cleaned after a patron leaves (granted, this one was a slob). The building itself has seen better days, though some things have been updated. The TV was frustrating - you have to search for the input and it wasn't logical (HDMI has the TV channels, not "cable/antenna"), there is no channel list, there are scores of "ghost" channels (the ones that appear, but that you can't watch because you don't have the subscription) which wastes a lot of time, and then in the morning the sound didn't come on. The best thing was the staff - friendly, alert, responsive.

I've stayed here 4 times now. It's my go-to when visiting relatives studying at MSU. It's a great value compared to other hotels, there's a bus stop right outside for the line that goes into town and the college campus. It's clean, the beds are very comfortable but a bit too tall for this short person (a current trend everywhere). Breakfast is included - they have hard boiled eggs, peanut butter, bagels, hot & cold cereal, a waffle maker, fruit.

I was pleasantly surprised by the location. Closer to lots of things to do. The room was spacious with a good sized fridge and microwave. This was great especially with Trader Joe’s across the street. The breakfast was as expected and plentiful. I’d would recommend this hotel for those who are price conscious as it’s a great value for the price. I’d stay here again.
