Could have been a little cheaper especially not having the amenities that the others have no laundry because it was broken had to pay out of pocket for hotel bedding to be done and the staff always had excuses plus were never in office

Stayed a night for a wedding, not bad if you're not judgemental and need a cheap room before a long drive back home. Sheets and towels were fresh. Front desk person friendly. Ice machine and vending machines in office also appeared to have coffee and hot chocolate.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I only saw 2 employees during my entire stay; so it may have been a staffing issue... I had a hot shower, but that's where the positives end. It looked like the room wasn't properly cleaned before my check-in. Dust, debris, and even a used band-aid all over the floor. The microwave likely hasn't been cleaned in years, the heat/AC unit was in disrepair, the shower drain was clogged, there was a hole in the the wall, and bloodstains on the bedding. And judging by the placement of said stains (along the top edge), I'm guessing that blanket has seen some things it wishes it could forget. Red Roof is usually a solid budget hotel chain. I was pretty surprised I ended up with such a sketchy room.

This place was so dirty and disgusting that even know it was free stay we left and paid $300 to stay next door at the Dury Inn Suits ) amazing place btw)! The picture of the Red Rooff Inn online is the the hotel you’re staying at. The whole building is completely run down. The doors were filthy, our bed had stained sheets and pillowcases, the toilet isn’t fastened to the floor , the bathtub was filthy floors covered in filth ect . i’ve had cleaner public gas station bathrooms than this place ! Front desk refused to move us . We were in room 211. Dury Inn Next Door is really nice!

VERY dirty. asked for a non smoking room and the entire room reeked of smoke. whole place needed a wipe down, all light switches were greasy and crusty. the bottoms of our shoes stuck to the floor. old gum crusted on the floor. bedsheets were stained everywhere. tried to find another place to go around us but all the hotels were booked out due to the graduation at GVSU. would NOT recommend. front desk guy was nice though, that’s why that has 2 stars- although, i did see housekeeping smoking while cleaning rooms, so that’s probably why all the nonsmoking rooms smell like that. stay away!

The room was dirty. There were stains and peeling on the walls and ceiling. There were rust stains in the sink and tub. The bed and bedding was stained. The bedding was cheap and flimsy. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. The furniture was cheap and every item had peeling veneer. The carpets were stained. The inside and outside of the entry doors were dirty. The lobby and rooms had a weird smell—kind of like stale smoke, dirt, and chemicals. It was very off-putting. I've been to other Red Roof Inn motels, and this one was, by far, the most disagreeable. The only good thing I can say is that it was cheap. But, as there are other motels in the area at or near the same price, I advise you skip this one.

It was the most awful filthy in sanitary inconvenient hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Ac vent fan wall unit busted. Holes in well screen bath door dirt all over walls ceiling n stains on beds. Called hotels.com and tried to chat n tried hotel office n kept getting hung up on n went to office n waited 7x n girl locked door n walked out of office as i showed up. Stay should be refunded osha should step in or tear down hotel. Reported to office in am b4 leaving.

The price was good, and while I don't expect a LOT from a Red Roof Inn, it would have been nice to have a remote for the TV, and a trash can. There were bugs inside the top drawer of the dresser, which I probably wouldn't have seen if I wasn't hunting for a remote. The bed was too firm for my liking, but ok, and I would have liked more than 2 pillows. We were in town for a concert, and the driving distance was great, and there are a lot of dining choices in the hotel area. But we left the A/C on while we were gone and came back to the room smelling of stale cigarettes and dust.

Well while the guy at the front desk was nice the property was not.The rooms were so old and outdated. It's ridiculous. A little bit of paint on the walls would be nice because they're so disgustingly dirty. Maybe fill in the pot holes in the parking lot and not add fake pics to your website and use actual real photos of your motel.

There should be a smoking area away from the rooms. There was a couple smoking a few doors down from me and the smoke smell seeped into my room. I could barely sleep with that smoke smell.

I have stayed at this unit for years when I'm in Grand Rapids. More and more it's becoming a long term stay hotel. People gathering every night smoking and drinking. I'm afraid I'll be staying somewhere else next time.

I chose this motel for its location. It has a mini-fridge. Two HUGE bugs in the room's bathroom. Frightfully huge. My vanity sink dripped a TON and formed a lake on the room floor which took three towels on the floor the whole time to mop it up / to absorb it. My room's window did not open which was a detriment. LOTS of loitering guests (or RESIDENTS??).....rubbernecking. People drinking and doing drugs in the motel parking lot. Bed was very comfortable and was clean. RIGHT next to a gas station which was great. Well-priced room which is another reason why I chose this place. I am not easily scared-off, so I chose this place as my motel, but others might be afraid of the bugs and the drugs. It was a bit noisy, and it had limited TV service. Towels were clean.

The staff here were super friendly and helpful, honestly can’t say enough nice things about them. Really appreciated how kind and accommodating everyone was! That said, just a heads-up: this is definitely on the budget end of the listings, so don’t roll in expecting luxury. The place could use a bit of a refresh, some of the towels and bedding had stains, and the floors could use a deep clean. Walking in kinda felt like stepping into a Waffle House at 2AM (no hate, just vibes). Overall, you get what you pay for, solid service and a decent stay if you manage expectations.

This was the worst experience we've ever had. The picture is from the first room they gave us, which had obviously been slept in. It was very dirty. The second room they gave us smelled so bad like animal urine (literally the worst I've ever smelled in my life) that we turned in the key and left. They rufused to give us a refund even though we did not stay there. I never in life have seen a worse hotel/motel than this. I've stay is some bad places, but never have I felt the need to leave.

Worst property of all time. Front desk was abandoned for nearly 30 minutes and no one could check in late at night. Loud drug addicts running the parking lots all night. Every bed sheet heavily stained and large visible particles littered the entire bedsheet. Every hard surface dusty. Gunk in the bathtub floor. Walked in and could not stay longer than 10 minutes before being forced to book another stay in another town an hour away at midnight. 0/10. I would give negative stars if possible. I NEED MY MONEY BACK BECAUSE I CANNOT GET MY TIME BACK.

Had 2 rooms for 4 ladies, but one didn't show, so I had a room to myself. Booked 2 nights. My first room had drug dealers outside at the room next door and reeked of cigarette smoke, to which I am allergic. The man in the office switched my room. The 2nd room smelled of dog, but at least I'm not allergic to dog, and the hotel does accept dogs, so no worries. Room wasn't very clean. No way I'd use the shower. Wood flooring with throw rugs that hadn't been vacuumed. My friends were in a room heavy with air freshener. Beds are 6" mattresses. I got a text in the morning that their room had water in it, plus a bonus cockroach. Mine had a bug in the sink, but more like a flea, and it was dead. We told the office we were checking out and they could sell the room to someone else and that we'd like our money back. He did not have the authority to do that. When I tried calling the office, no one answered. My friends' room had no towels or toilet tissue. They took one of my rolls, but had to go to the office for towels. There was the Rock the Country in Hastings and a cheerleading tournament going on, and hotels were full, so I'm sure they made double the money for our two rooms on the second night. We did find a wonderful place for night two, though it was the last room available and one lady slept on a rollaway.

I have stayed at this unit for years when I'm in Grand Rapids. More and more it's becoming a long term stay hotel. People gathering every night smoking and drinking. I'm afraid I'll be staying somewhere else next time.

I really liked how close to the highway it was as well as dining options and the price. The only thing I didnt care for were some of the neighbors being loud and obnoxious, vut the hotel cant really help that.

There was no garbage can in our room or the bathroom . The floor hadnt been vacuuumed. There was no outdoor seating under the gazebo they showed. No large grill like they showed. The tv had no service. No phones in the room. Not a great neighborhood. Glad it was fairly cheap

Rundown, dirty and the urine and pot smoke stench when we entered the room was unbearable. People loitering and we felt very unsafe. Avoid! All we wanted was a simple clean room after arriving home from a very long flight at 1 am. We almost left but didn’t want to risk hitting deer driving to lakeshore area.

The rooms were so dirty. I had to clean the floor myself because it was so disgusting. The carpet was so disgusting. The staff was rude and they don't even have coffee. Horrible just horrible place to stay. Don't do it. Do not stay here. I had random people knocking on my door, drunk, random people me and my kids were terrified that we left.

The room was dirty. The surfaces were dusty. The floor looked like it wasn't cleaned in a long time. The bed sheets looked dingy and had cigarette burns on them. Every single towel had stains on it. The sink was disgusting. There was trash all around the building. It constantly smelled like marijuana, every time we stepped outside. Other guests were yelling and swearing at each other. The whole place was very trashy. Also, there was no breakfast, even though it stated on Expedia that the room came with breakfast. When I asked for soap at the front desk, I was told that they don't have any soap. Stay away from this place!

This time we stayed in a room that was filthy. For a recently remodeled place the ceiling was leaking. The ac unit was so broken it has holes where the buttons should be and couldn't even blow air. There wasn't even coffee and the drug residents were horrifying
