Quality Inn Grand Rapids Near Downtown

Room was clean, staff was helpful. Snow clean up was non existent. My only complaint was that the walks were NOT shoveled and the parking lot was not cleared of snow.

It was close to downtown The swimming pool was out of order Tv did not have a signal until morning Blood stains on the carpet Bed was very lumpy Room was a little funky smelling stuffed up both of your heads No tissue in the box to try to clear nose

Rooms clean, common areas clean, good breakfast, Friendly staff. Laundry machines provided were in good condition. I did not use the pool or the weight room. Good for a budget hotel. Only one neg thing was the lack of snow and ice removal outside of most doors and common walkways.

Due to the weather, there were icy places where we walked to the lobby to check in. A salt mix would take care of that.

Our stay was okay. A few issues: No elevator so you have to use the steps if your room is on the second floor. There was one person working both check-out and breakfast when we left on Saturday morning at 8 AM so we had to wait a bit. The smoke alarm was missing from our room but when I mentioned that at check-out he made a note of it. Hopefully that will get replaced.

Room definitely didn’t look like the pictures. We had a broken table someone tried to put back together that look horrible.. rooms were very outdated and the old maintenance work like patching on the walls wasn’t painted over. Looked horrible. But the bed was comfortable and was fine overall because we only needed a place to sleep. Looked like a lot of the people lived there.. also had a lot of snow and the sidewalks weren’t shoveled we had to walk through snow almost up to my knees to get in our door. Only to walk in and the heat was turned off which I thought was horrible at the time but like I said the bed was comfortable

Clearly an older facility, but it has been repainted. The room itself was very clean with no odors. Bathroom was in great shape - no mold or ceiling issues due to moisture. Beds were firm, but had a bit of a pillowtop cushion. Each bed had 4 pillows / 2 different varieties. Bed and bath linens all looked new. The main hallway and stairs all have carpet which are dirty, but not a deal breaker. With all the heavy traffic in those areas maybe carpet isn\'t the best choice for floor covering. Breakfast was your standard "free" hotel breakfast. Waffles, eggs, sausage, bread, English muffins, pre-packaged pastries, oatmeal, cereals, fresh fruit and beverages. Dining area was very clean with plenty of seating. Location is great if you are looking to hop on an off I-131. It took us about 5 - 10 minutes to get downtown to Van Andel arena. The address for this place is technically Grand Rapids, but if you are familiar with the area - it is literally a stones throw from Wyoming. I am not sure I would want to be walking around after dark. (Just my opinion.) The area is a little run down and could use some love! You will definitely hear noise from outside. The hotel is tucked in behind a party store and a restaurant. If you\'re just looking for a place to crash overnight and you don\'t want to fork over the ungodly rates downtown, then this is a good option. All of the rooms are only accessable from interior hallways and there aresecurity measures for getting into the building

nice swimming pool and easy access to room

Photos were very deceiving it was in a undesirable neighborhood. I booked 3 rooms for my granddaughter's birthday party so all the grandchildren could swim only to get there and the pool was closed.

It was very quiet. Easy parking close to our room. The room was clean. The pool was very clean. Person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was limited but good. Beds were very comfortable and we could control the aircon in our room.

It served the purpose of a cheap place to sleep and nothing fancy. The lower reviews were because the bathroom fan was rediculously loud, the bathroom door wouldn’t fit in the jam so it didn’t close. The smell in the room wasn’t bad, it was just odd. Like lemongrass or ginger or something. There was a mysterious stain on end of the bedspread that normally would have had me call the front desk and complain, but I was exhausted and didn’t have energy to deal with it so I checked the sheets and just slept on the other side. That being said, the bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. There was a protective cover on the mattress. Continental breakfast was basic but a nice gesture and served the purpose. It was quiet and we slept well.

The rooms smelled like cigarettes and there was a lot of noise coming from the rooms around us. We had obscene graffiti on our bathroom door, the hair dryer didn’t work, toilet seat was falling off, and there was no shampoo. They also didn’t have washcloths or a towel to step on for the bathroom floor. Bathroom towels were stained, too. I’m not normally much of a reviewer, but this place was really awful. Staff seemed inconvenienced by us asking any questions and breakfast was limited, too. The only true upside was that there weren’t bed bugs.

Very rundown property. Doors didn't fit well, light coming in around frame. Bathroom door barely shut. Carpet frayed and dirty. Television screen very dirty. Found candy wrappers on the floor. Blow dryer didn't work. Bed made a clunking sound when you moved/rolled over. Pillows were small and hard. A very uncomfortable night.

The room smelled really bad. the carpet was wet and sticky. The bathroom door was broken. the people upstairs was very noisy. the breakfast very poor. the juice machine was not on, I had to ask the front desk lady to turn it on. way to expensive for the service they offer.

The first room they tried to give as was alll torn apart. Mattress leaning up against walls, frames tipped up and 2 can of insect bomb sitting in the middle of the room. Second room smelled musty and damp. Turned heat on and left, 3 hrs later came back and was hit with a marijuana smell in the room

The front of the refrigerator in microwave were dirty. Looked like it hadn’t been clean in a while.

The parking lot party going on at 2:30A didn't even invite me but were kind enough to ensure that I was able to listen in on all the happenings.

Couldn’t watch DirecTV. Reset and restarted it many times. Couldn’t even plug my laptop into the TV via HDMI as the port was apparently disabled. Also, the shower curtain rod was just jammed into a hole in the drywall.

Not a fan of the stay. The first room we went to had a broken lock, the table stand was broken and there was some stains on the wall. The gentleman was apologetic about it and did relocate me and my wife to a different room. Overall stay and condition of the hotel was not a good one.

I would NOT recommend staying at this property. Sounds permeate through walls and ceilings. Guests above my room were partying until 3 am in the morning. Horrible property!

It smelled like urine and marijuana in the halls. During the weekend, there were drunk guests being extremely loud and noisy from 4am-8am. The shower was lukewarm at best and the shower head seemed to be malfunctioning. I wish I would have spent the extra $20 to stay somewhere a little nicer.

Close to many local attractions. TV didn’t work properly upon arrival. Had to call front desk from our cell phone because room phone had no instructions for calling front desk. When she came to fix it she rebooted it several times and as soon as it got a picture she said “it’s good now” had to call her back less than 5 minutes later. She rebooted it a few more times and said”it’s not working sorry” we asked if we could have another room or discount. She said no let me work on it. We had to call three hours later to find out if anything was gonna be done about it they then moved it into a room with a broken bathroom door, not many towels and not clean it wasn’t a very good experience.

It was absolutely ok . Clean space, good, comfortable beds . Quiet. Nice service. Only one thing - the bathroom door was impossible to close in room 107

Room 219 tv n remote didn’t work told front desk and they never came to fix it and the room had an ant problem all over the tables

The staff is wonderful and pleasant. Alway a hello or good morning. As far as a city motel goes. I prefer to stay there when I travel for business in GR.

The property was fairly typical condition wise, but I did have a few minor issues. My door’s card reader broke and got locked out, but was able to get a new room right away with a working lock. There also seemed to be some type of water damage on the bathroom ceiling in the old room. The in-room DirectTV was hit or miss, even with good weather. Otherwise, the staff there were kind and helpful.

We had 2 rooms, one of which did not have any towels, toilet paper, or Kleenex. Side door closest to my rooms did not work, and had to egress the hotel from a further entrance. The staff was very helpful in making sure my family had an enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and everything worked as it should. The walls are very thin, so if someone has a tv on loud (just as we did) you will hear it. But the staff took care of it and had the tv shut off so we could sleep. I would recommend this hotel, they are in the process of fixing it up, and are doing a good job, but are in dire need of towels. Not enough towels for the pool either.

This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'll start by saying the front end staff at check in was really good but everything after that was awful!!! I opened the room door to find the cleaning lady still inside, so I went and sat in my car until she finsihed (2.5 hours after check in time). There was used tissue and a pizza box left in the room. The bathtub faucet was constantly running hot water which kept the room disgustingly humid the entire time. Not to mention how annoying that is to listen to. The bathroom door had clearly been kicked in and the shower rod was barely attached. The neighbors on all sides of the room were up all hours smashing doors, yelling, fighting, bashing around. Not a single night was quiet. We couldn't leave our room at night because there was always people fighting outside our door. No one ever answered at the front desk to remedy the situation, it was literally four days straight of this. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, this property needs a ton of work.

Upon check in I was told my room had been given away. Tried to accommodate my family by separating us into two rooms….not great since it was just me and my two kids. Also had pre-booked a rollaway that was a beach chair with an inch think mattress on it. The rooms were next to each other but the air conditioning in one wasn’t working. We left and how to find a new hotel at 11:00 at night. Not the best experience.

The outside was very run down not the best part of town the room was very nasty holes in the wall stains on the covers and sheets bathroom door did not shut I did not stay I ended up booking elsewhere to a much better place

Pictures online were not the same as in the hotel. The room itself was clean. However, walls were cracked, hallways looked old and run down. Not the "quality" that I thought of when I thought of Quality Inn. In a rough part of Kentwood. My daughter and I didn't have any other option to stay the night, so we just made sure we stayed in our room. The air conditioner was smelly when turned on. I was highly disappointed in the overall place. Will not be going back to Quality Inn or this hotel again,

I can't overstate how horrible my experience was. After spending 5 hours on the road, I arrived at 9:15 PM to a hotel parking lot that was blocked off by police activity. After waiting ~45 minutes, the police activity had not cleared up. I called the front desk to inquire about alternate parking/entrances and was informed that there were none. I ended up having to book a room at a different hotel last minute and was unable to cancel or receive a refund at the Quality Inn. I cannot recommend staying here under any circumstances.

Was worried after some reviews. The room was clean, the area is a little rough but it was ok. Pretty close to downtown (8 min Uber ride). Not much around in the way of restaurants. Overall was pretty satisfied.

Absolutely horrible! Matter of fact before I start last month the same type of situation booking with hotels.com seriously google the hotel it never matches with pictures , stars or ratings when it comes to hotels.com we will never use them again . Now on to the review not one thing from the color and actual style of the outside dwelling itself matches the picture. The only thing that matches somewhat is the green lobby, and decor but clearly pics were taken several years ago . This hotel was beyond disgusting, leaking ceiling, the door had at least a cm crack all the way around it wasn't sealed at all . We had to rig the door with two chairs incase of someone breaking in. Everything was dirty from, walls , to furniture with blood on the one lamp shade, fridge didn't keep anything but Luke warm, everything scratched, busted or had holes. The bathroom door could not be shut at all. It's in a very bad area behind a liquor store, bums all over and multiple people living out of hotel, awful look at pics . I don't have any more time to waste on this hotel or site!

Felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable with the area surrounding the property. Doors opening to the outside parking lot with homeless people wandering around. I decided not to stay the night and ate the cost. Safety above all else.

I am not a picky traveler. All I ask from a room is convenient location, safety, and cleanliness. Location was OK, safety seemed fine. And generally, everything was clean. But then we found "dried nasal secretions" smeared on the headboard. And the breakfast was bad. The coffee creamers were near expiration and chunky. The milk was sour. The waffle mix or syrup had a distinct moldy green off flavor. Food service hygiene was not good. Definitely wouldn\'t stay here again.

This property was very outdated the parking lot was like an ice arena. I think the staff live there. Kids in and out of apartment all night, broken down cars in the parking lot. They watch you like youre in a prison. The breakfast is disgusting. The odor in the lobby and hallway was terrible. Everything from the pillows to the loud ventilation in the bathroom was terrible. The carpet was awful. Refrigerator did not work. The surrounding area looked dangerous. It looked like a place where tricking and drug users stay. Awful it is ran by a family of foreign ers. Just awful
