Large rooms, motel where you park in front of your room. New bathtub, new carpets, older furniture. The pool was fully functional. Breakfast clean but the area had no windows. Don’t expect luxury. All in all friendly service and a decent bed, in an upgraded room.

The reception area and breakfast area were very clean. The breakfast was nice and had more selections than some hotels. The room was clean. There are definitely updates needed The ice machine at the pool did not work. There was no other way to get ice. The grounds were clean. We were on the first floor. It was very annoying to wake up to a carpet cleaning machine before 7:00 a.m. on the morning of our stay.

For the price, this hotel was very clean and comfortable. Most importantly we felt safe in the area. We usually don’t stay in areas with outdoor corridors but we were just passing through the area and had a first floor room with easy access to our vehicle right outside our door. The pool was clean. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. There were restaurants nearby and a Traveling J in walking distance for snacks

We loved this property. It was right off the interstate, We were concerned about the Flying J travel center truck stop next to it but we didn't hear a single semi. It had a nice area out back behind the motel to sit by the pool and relax, lots of parking even for larger vehicles, small area for breakfast where you waited in line to get your food and only a small amount of tables. I'm talking maybe 6 tables. Didn't bother us because we only got coffee. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our major complaint was the carpet was so dirty that our feet were black. I was really surprised when I took a shower and saw the black foot prints in the shower. We would stay here again just get the carpets cleaned....or wear your shoes in the room.

The only thing I would say about the property is that they need to address the steps going into the pool. Very narrow and deep. Should be wider and maybe add another step. Otherwise clean and convenient stop.

The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. The toliet seemed loose, and made a loud nolse when you stand from the seat. Also, the wall area around the toliet appears to have mold. It was okay for one night, but we wouldn't want to stay more than that.

Reasonable price and great location off highway but other than that I wouldn’t recommend. Highway / truck noise, regular banging noise from HVAC (which was turned off), cockroach under sink and blood stain (or something that looked exactly like blood) on bed cover.

We stay at the Bryson Inn about twice a month. As an older couple, we ask for a room on the first floor. For the past four trips, they have not accommodated this request. Also, we haven’t had a microwave in our room during these stays. During the last stay, the one single chair was useless. It’s old and needs replaced as there is no cushioning. You just sank in. Bathroom is fine. The bed was fine. The carpeting and chair(s) need updated.

Pros: - We arrived late at night and the gentleman at front desk was very nice given the hour. -This is an older hotel that has not been updated an ounce… with that said, it was very clean. Cons: - As I said, we arrived late after a long day. We are also in the middle of a heatwave. The AC was completely turned off when we got in the room. The room didn’t get cool until about 4am. The AC needs maintenance. It knocked and “squealed” all night long and did not cool the room efficiently. Regular checks on these things could prevent this. - There was nothing to sit on in the room other than your bed. There was a dining chair but the cushion was so concave it looked like you’d fall through if you had a seat. This place could be charming if the owners would put a little love into it.

The staff were all awesome. The property is located near a truck center, so it was a little bit noisy at times. The room really needs some updating and TLC. The room appeared "clean" but the carpet was quite stained, the chair's arms worn, carpet stains and pieces torn out, wall paper torn and missing in spots. It showed its age overall. Although the room needed a serious upgrade, the stay was pleasant. Breakfast was fine and the coffee was quite good. All in all, it was "okay".

The hotel was easy to drive to. Staff were friendly. When checking out, papers were ready which made for a quick check out. Nice breakfast with a friendly lady to make waffles and help in anyway. Everything was clean.

The first room m, 230, we were offered had a quarter inch of water in the bathroom from a leaking toilet. We then changed to another room, 217, in which the air conditioning was massively underperforming. We reported this and were told someone would be up within 10min. When that did not occur we left and stayed at a holiday inn. With no refund or offer of service recovery.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Reception service was really bad. Apparently there is a disagreement between Bryson Inn and Expedia with the respect to the room price, and they want me to resolve it and call Expedia. We are over 70 years old, so after 10 hours of driving, we were really looking forward to get a good rest, but it wasn't easy. After one hour of waiting and multiple discussions, we were given keys to the room on the second floor, but they didn't work, because the room was was already occupied. They did this twice to us (we had to climb stairs twice, there is no elevator) we were pretty upset about this whole situation. Finally they gave us keys to the room that we could enter. We will never to stay at this hotel again for sure.

The room and property were easy to access and very clean. We enjoyed our visit and even met some people who were from the same area as us, enjoying their stay at this hotel as well. The breakfast was fully stocked and offered lots of hot and cold options. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend the Bryson Inn for any travelers seeking a comfortable and safe lodging experience.

After a long day of driving I entered the Bryson Inn, with an email confirmation of our reservation from hotels.com. The clerk at the front desk proceeded to tell me their system didn't work properly with hotels.com. He said that the Bryson Inn only received about 3/4 of the hotels.com payment, suggesting it wasn't enough money. He gave me the number for Expedia, parent of hotels.com and told me to call them, cancel our reservation and ask to be sent to another hotel. After that he waved me off and didn't want to talk to me. Never before have I been treated so rudely. My wife called Expedia and explained the situation to the agent on the phone, who then called the clerk at the front desk. The clerk argued with the agent; the connection dropped a few times and the Expedia agent had to call back each time. Voices were raised as the agent tried to pay for the room with the Hotels.com credit card. The clerk kept telling him the amount wasn't enough and they shouted at each other as they discussed all the options. We could hear it all. This played out over about twenty minutes. We eventually spoke to the Expedia agent and asked if they could just put our money toward any other hotel in the area, and that's what happened, even though our reservation was deemed non-refundable. It was the most bizarre, uncomfortable experience ever, and my wife and I were never happier than when we got out of there.

The property was right off the interstate next to a truck stop. Though it obviously had many vacancies, the put us in a room next to a family who had been there 28 days. They had children. Every 2 hours for 2 nights they were opening and closing their door, arguing, opening their car door to smoke, etc. It happened at 10, 12, 2 and 4 am. We were there 3 nights and did not get much rest. The breakfast was waffles, cereal, bagels and yogurt. Not many choices.

It was very convenient to Mt Airy, our destination. The room as clean and the beds very comfortable. While located next to a truck stop just off the interstate, there was no noise from it at all. The continental breakfast was good and fresh. The staff was very friendly.

This is an older motel with doors that open to the outside. There are two floors with stairs on the outside. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It could use updating, but for one night was fine. No restaurant is within walking distance, so any meals require driving. Breakfast was okay, a typical motel breakfast. The motel met our needs for a one night stay during our road trip.

Check in was easy. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Property was right next to large truck stop. Noise from idling trucks throughout the night but not disturbing at all. More like a good background noise. Check out easy as well. Definitely stay again if in the area.

The Bryson looks a little better in the site pictures than it does in person. Certainly not a bad place to stay, although the interior could use some remodeling. Seeing the truck place down the hill was a little disconcerting, but it wasn’t terribly noisy, which is what I feared when I drove up. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. A good place to stay for a reasonable price. Convenient for my visit to the Andy Griffith Museum on my road trip South to GA.

The hotel is a bit dated BUT the owners keep it up reasonably well. I travel a lot for work and have stayed in 5 star hotels and budget motels. I always judge by whether I would stay in a place again....I definitely would stay here again. Felt safe leaving my car in parking lot overnight,it's convenient to I-77,and there is a convenience store across the street. I was a little turned off,at first,by the fact that it is right by a truck stop but there was no issue with that and it was relatively quiet although had few noisy neighbors that came and went it wasn't a big issue. In short if you are looking for a safe,clean, convenient budget motel to stay in,this place suits.

Everything was great except for the breakfast. Our prior stays included a great breakfast. Eggs, sausage, fruits and choice of yogurts. The breakfast was the reason I chose to stay this time. Very disappointed. 😔 We pass thru the area twice a year to visit family.

Proximity to the interstate and a gas station was surprising (very close and not super loud) Staff was friendly and informative. Coffee was all gone by the time I came to breakfast. Luckily they have in room coffee and I was able to have some of that. Pool looked inviting but I did not have time to use. Maybe next time if it is summer.

This hotel is absolutely nothing like the picture. Breakfast was ridiculous. Ran out of everything. Warm milk. Apple juice watered down. No waffle barrer left an hour before the end of breakfast time. No one cleaning up or emptying garbage. In the lobby all the furniture had old fashioned covers on them. The only thing they have going for them is the pool.

We loved this property. It was right off the interstate, We were concerned about the Flying J travel center truck stop next to it but we didn't hear a single semi. It had a nice area out back behind the motel to sit by the pool and relax, lots of parking even for larger vehicles, small area for breakfast where you waited in line to get your food and only a small amount of tables. I'm talking maybe 6 tables. Didn't bother us because we only got coffee. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our major complaint was the carpet was so dirty that our feet were black. I was really surprised when I took a shower and saw the black foot prints in the shower. We would stay here again just get the carpets cleaned....or wear your shoes in the room.

The beds were very comfortable and 4 pillows per bed (fluffy ones even!). Room was very clean and pretty spacious. Breakfast was complementary and had a waffle maker, hot biscuits ans gravy, and hard boiled eggs. They also had some muffins/bagels, cereal, yogurt, juice and apples. Overall a pretty nice spread for a free Breakfast. Front desk staff was also nice. Would definitely stay here again
