Badlands Inn & Suites

Only one of the three rooms had a working telephone. Daily housekeeping was advertised but not followed through. A listed amenety was a bar and lounge when there was none. We booked three rooms months in advance and when we got our rooms they weren’t even close to each other. The pool wasn’t available although we saw it listed as an amenity. No clocks in the rooms and the lighting in rooms was horrible. The tvs didn’t work the first night. There were no soft drinks available near our room as the machine was “Out of Oder”. (Note on the machine)

Pool was closed. Laundry was broken. Mattress was absolutely terrible. We flipped it but it was bad.

The property didn’t have any amenities not even an alarm clock, or coffee. It said it had a place to eat but it doesn’t have that either. We will not stay here again.

Some runs did not have working tv. There was a terrible smell in the lobby. Pool was unavailable.

The only good thing was the bed was comfortable and there were no bugs. No breakfast or other options for food besides vending machine.

The room was clean the bed was comfy the morning would have been better if there was coffee. No coffee pot in the room or anywhere in the motel

Pool was empty, no breakfast as advertised. No bar/restaurant as advertised, carpet falling off stairs. Lock broken on door. Shower not clean. NO COFFEE. New Tv, but wasn’t set up or able to watch.

The motel room was not very clean. Waterbugs in bathroom. Had to ask for toilet paper, towels. Ice machine didn't work, couldn't wash laundry because machines didnt work, pool was closed, microwave didnt work, knob missing. I spent $85 on a room that wasnt even worth $40. Very disappointed. The comfortable bed was the only positive.

Smelled like pot/weed upon entering. Felt sorry for the girl working. She was way over worked. No phone service in room so couldn’t contact staff through phone. Phone at office wasn’t answered due to no staff at front desk. Bathroom door was locked upon entering the room. Advertising was false. Swimming pool , hot tubs and breakfast area all closed. No Kleenex in room. Felt like this facility is ready to shut down. Comfortable bed.

Disappointed by the cleanliness of this hotel both in hallways and room. Air conditioning unit was leaking water on floor. Front desk worker was not even available to check us out. Understandable that this is a budget hotel, but was not worth the cost.

I stay at a LOT of hotels and I’m not picky at all, but this place is a dump. There’s a variety of bad smells you will encounter as you walk through the property. Rooms are filthy—moldy AC units and walls with bubbles from water damage. Inside security lock chain was missing from the door. Beds were uncomfortable as well. Really no positive to share from the stay outside of the friendly employee that checked us in. AVOID this place, and spend a couple more bucks to be comfortable and have some piece of mind.

I expect limited amenities in cheap hotels like no coffee, no breakfast, limited room furnishings…but I do still expect clean and sanitized rooms. This room was not clean…blood and dirt marks on comforter/sheets; dirt/food leftovers on floors & mold in AC and bathroom.

I'd give zero stars if I could. The pictures on their website are old and do not represent what it currently looks like now. It's very misleading. Noone was staffed at the front desk. I had to call. She was nice but was basically wearing pajamas when she finally showed up. Very unprofessional in my opinion. My room faced the courtyard, which was filthy and not available to guests. My door was bolted shut to the courtyard. My sheets had stains on it. The desk chair had a big rip in it. There were stains on the wall from someone prior had spilled something on it. The telephone in the room was missing all of the buttons except the keypad. The bathtub/shower did not look very clean. Towels that were once white looked almost yellow. I questioned whether the bed sheets were even clean or if the bed had just been remade. Holes in the wall in the hallways exposing insulation and plumbing. The wallpaper is peeling In a lot of areas. It's the most disgusting hotel I've ever been to. I was so uncomfortable there. It was around 10pm when I checked in. I was there an hour, and decided to leave and stay somewhere else. Didn't ask for my money back, because after reading other reviews on it, which I wish I would have done before I booked, I knew I wasn't going to get my money back. It will be a cold day in hell before I ever stay here again

Cleanliness was sub par. I am not a neat freak but the room looked like it had not been thoroughly cleaned for many visits. Was just looking for a place to sleep while passing through, could hardly wait for sunrise so I could check out and hit the road.

Dirty room. Trim falling off walls. walls were cracking, had holes and dirt marks on them. Carpet stained, vents moldy and dirty, bathroom had mold around shower with a 1/4” gap between wall and tub faucet. The toilet paper roll was broken and the toilet paper was just stuck on one of the pegs. The beds are old and worn out. One of our blankets had poop stains on it. Again very gross. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Stains on every surface. Beds were stained. Sheets were stained. Pillow cases were stained. Curtains had what appeared to be blood on them. Cigarettes were being smoked in the rooms. Terrible smell. Worst room I have ever been in.

Very old and outdated. The carpet in the room was badly stained, tub didn't drain, and the paint on the walls was poorly touched up, as if it appeared to be from vandalism. The hotel has a bad overall smell.

The room was comfortable, quiet, safe and reasonably clean. The bed was very comfortable and there were good channels on the television. We were able to park very close to our room. The staff we met was friendly and helpful. It was a good value.

Stayed 1 night there were no amenities and the room was dirty. The place was pet friendly but the property had no pet friendly places to take your pet to the bathroom at all. The whole place was tore up for renovations which sounds like have been going on for some time. There were stains everywhere and the whole place smelled and the AC did not work properly.

The hotel has potential, and it looks like they might be working on it, but is in serious need of a remodel! The window in my room looked out at a large storage space. There was an odor, not necessarily unpleasant, that permeated the property. I thought I’d open a window, but no, since it opened to an inside space. Friendly staff and the price is right.

Booked for 2 nights, ended up leaving 5am in the morning on the first night because the walls were so thin it sounded like to person in the next room was in my room. He kept waking me with his coughing, tv. It was horrible. Still had to pay for both nights when I wasn’t even there 12 hours.

I've stayed in worse places but this place is only slightly better... some of the issues.... none of the outdoor keypads worked.. you always have to enter thru the lobby. Door to my room constantly handed requiring me to shoulder it closed... fire alarm was dismantled and setting on the TV... battery inside it was dead. Room had second door leading to old interior pool area that was falling apart (ceiling tiles falling in, etc.)...bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean... shower was hot and worked fine so it is what it is. I'll not stay here again though as there are other similarly priced options in the area.

The whole building smelled of stale cigarette smoke. ("Smoke-free property" lol.) The TV was badly pixelated and we couldn't watch it. The back door locked in the evening (guests were not advised), so someone banged on it loudly during the night and woke people up. ("Soundproof rooms" lol.) There was a random piece of broken furniture in the parking lot. There were so few outlets, we had to move a bed to plug in a phone. BYO tissues, because there was no box. Staff was not friendly and was on a personal phone call while we were checking in. If you are looking for cheap accommodations and are not picky, go ahead and book here.

Bed was real comfortable, nice and quiet

There was no one at the registration desk when I went to check in and after 45 minutes between being in the building and waiting at my car and calling the front desk and just letting it ring. I had to find other accommodation. The hotel and Expedia refuse to refund the the “non-refundable” hotel stay. There was no way for me to check in to complete my end of the deal. Absolutely worst service. This was 9:20pm on a Tuesday night. There was no sign indication someone was not on site and the staff admit that no one was on site at the time I went to check in but they will not refund and somehow 8 people checked in after me. I doubt this. I left the building at 10p. So in those 2 hours they checked in 8 more customers. In a tiny town of Dickinson, ND. They argued that I didn’t wait long enough. There was no sign and there’s no reason I should have to. I understand stepping away, but they admitted no one was even on site.

Extremely rude front desk staff. Would not provide extra towels or shampoo. The place smelled like garbage and was extremely run down with NO amenities. Pay the extra $25 or so and stay elsewhere.

The owner is a lazy liar that only wants to get his money. Everything was fine at first. Stayed off and on for about 3 weeks. His workers were kind sweet people. The owner starts out as nice since youre paying him. But i needed itemized receipts that showed the daily rate i was charged. He kept saying he didnt know how to do that. He needs to call tech support. Too busy today. Tomorrow. Then he had a worker that waw able to figure it out! Great! But... there were days missing and informed them i needed those other days. Well the worker "couldnt remember how he got in before" , "the computer wont even let him in"... okay... i tell them i want to check in, but i refuse to until i get the receipts from my previous stays. So the owner says, "okay. I canceled your stay so you can go find somewhere else to stay." INSTEAD OF JUST CALLING TECH SUPPORT AND FIGURING IT OUT. So i left to stay somewhere else. Actually much better and price is very similar. They have my email and emailed my itemized receipt within a couple hours after check out. Do not stay at badlands. Let that man go toe up. He has another hotel too. Cant remember which. But if you go to check in and you have to press 0. Then he says i will be right there and rolls up in a white suv. Thats him. Do not give this man your money.

When we told the man at the registration desk that our key card didn't work, he tod us we'd have to leave! He said he would refund our money. We left and I will make sure to see that happens Why on earth were we asked to leave for simply asking for a key card that works?

Attempt to secure a one night refund was declined prior to first night stay, notice was given at 6pm the first evening for cancellation, hotel declined ANY refund

Booked the room because roads were icy going home front desk guy threatened to call cops on my 14 because he was opening door for me to bring luggage in and then the bathroom was dirty we asked for towels because there were none told me no that I couldn’t have any til morning so I didn’t even get to shower before I went to work at 5 am

This property is a little dated. The check in person was very friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable and clean.

This property has recently been remodeled. Walking distance to Fast food and restaurants. Staff is amazing and rooms are very clean. Conveniently located right off 94. Give this Hotel a try you won’t be disappointed! Great rates

Nice staff- had a view of a formerly enclosed pool area which is off limits but KFC and other restaurants within walking distance

Close to restaurants. This is a basic hotel. It’s not fancy, no breakfast, none of that. It’s clean, no bugs, and a place to lay your head and take a shower. It’s not bad at all if that’s all you need, in fact, it’s PERFECT for just that! If you want all the bells and whistles and want to pay twice as much, go somewhere else!

No one at front desk on arrival. Woman then came out. No coffeemaker in room or available in hotel, microwave didn’t make popcorn. To try to popcorn, it would shut off and have to wait half hour to try again. Refrigerator was unplugged. When plugged in, never shut off and was noisy. Thin small towels, too few of them. No spare toilet tissue, Kleenex dispenser empty, filthy carpet, room smelled like cigarettes, shower curtain stained. Called front desk but phone didn’t work. Went to front desk to ask for wine bottle opener. Nobody there. Called out and nobody answered. Sign said dial 300. Nobody came to desk in lobby and only talked to me on phone. Asked for coffee maker and was told have none. Asked to borrow wine bottle opener and was told they had none. I was told they had nothing. It is unfair for Orbitz to advertise this place which does not meet any standards. Room next to us had big dog and another room did too.
