DoubleTree by Hilton Portland - Tigard

The room was nice. The staff only cleaned once when I had requested more washcloths. It was Christmas week, so I'm not sure that was the reason. They state they charge for a morning buffet, but I saw no easy way to do that, and it's really not worth what they said they charged. The bar area was not operational. There was also a smell in the hallway due to the renovations underway. That said, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helped whenever asked. The room was quiet, with a large desk to work at and tables downstairs as well. It was well located near things I wished to do. Everything in the room was clean and well maintained.

Couldn’t cool room enough and elevator was broken. Great staff though!! They comped us a few things to make up for some of the glitches.

We booked at this hotel with expectations of being able to use the bar area to gather with other families we are traveling with. The bar is closed permanently and we did not know about this until arriving in having to ask because it appears in working order. The staff are very nice and very accommodating.

This property has seen better days. Torn bed liner, towel hook hanging off the wall, one outlet on lamp not working, coffee machine for breakfast ($15) broken (there was coffee in the lobby), toaster broken. Remote control was dirty, fridge was rusty, bedside lamps were a little gross. One outlet on the bedside lamp didn't work, the other one was very loose so kept coming out. Listing says there is a bar, but it was closed. Safe was unusable because it was locked? We had no privacy card so staff came in to give us new towels (that was nice) but they did not provide more coffee and they decided my leftovers were trash which was a bummer when I returned to eat them for dinner the next night. Warm cookies were a nice touch. The price was low. I've not stayed at Doubletree before so I'm not sure if this is consistent across their properties or if this is just this hotel. Easy and free parking.

When I arrived, there was no furniture in my room (outside of the bed) and the wonderful lady at the front desk told me that it was because they were renovating. I was there for a few days for work and needed a desk to work at and had to transfer rooms. The single treadmill and mike in the gym did not work, which was challenging during a heat wave. I was told that breakfast was included and then was charged for it - not work $15 per day.

Kinda off the beaten path with nothing much around within walking distance food wise but we wanted quiet don’t was perfect the neighborhood was fantastic though. And it was super simple to navigate five minutes up the road to Ross and ten minutes up to Walmart and food breakfast was amazing as well. The pool was nice and refreshing and they have a grill out on the patio to cook on if you chose to do so.

Staff was friendly. The room was clean and had basic amenities. Elevator was out of order the entire stay, we were on the 3rd floor. Hallways needs to be renovated, dated furnishing. The upper parking lot had 2 abandoned cars. The property is located in a convenient location.

Walking into the hotel it was great.The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and gave us cookies. We were directed to area B, our room was on the 3rd floor. The elevator doors opened, the wall paper was peeling off wall, left of the elevator it was being remodeled, open plastic and frame work, wood, everything exposed. We walked to the room, opened door to 60 degrees, smelt wet, floor felt wet and sticky, ceiling too the left of ac unit back corner had patch spot where you could clearly see it leaked. At the top of curtains its black mold, all base boards around room had water marks along with a majority of furniture. There was hair in the dust bed under sheet. The shower had to bottles that looked as if the 3m tape dodgy stick so one bottle was in the sink area and the other on shower floor. There was black mold in the corners of shower on outside. We were exhausted. In the morning the floor was sticky and wet in places. The buffet which is a continental breakfast thats free in most other hotels was $15. I spent over $130. I have more than 8 photos.

We have stayed at several Double Trees, and this one was just not up to par with those. The lamp shade and ottoman were both ripped. There were crumbs on the partition wall, a hard candy on the bathroom floor, and a couple of hairs in the sheets. To be fair- we checked in late after a very long flight, so we did not call and ask to be moved. It was a quick trip so we just dealt with it, so I cannot comment on how Customer Service would handle it. But I would not stay here again.

Stains, ruined furniture. Not ok.

First off they could only find one room on the reservation and therefore over charged me for the second room. With painted over mold in the bathroom. Dirty floors in every corner, shower head broken and water choice was scalding or cold! Will never go back nor recommend.

Wallpaper peeling off the walls in the hallway. Blowers going in the hallway, which means mold. In our clean room, there was black mold on the top of the walls that someone had tried to paint over, to no avail.

The shower floor was literally black. The area in our "suite" where a couch should be consisted of a bench with two ratty vinyl ottomans on either end of it.

First room we were in was not very good - 219 has two outside air conditioners on the pool roof making lots of noise plus the room air conditioner was not a quality product. Also the toilet flap was stuck with every flush. This room was not a typical Hilton experience. We moved to 210 and it was a much better experience- newer air conditioner and quiet.

The shower had some stains on the floor, definitely needs to be replaced, and sofa was missing in the room so I had half of the room empty.

Easiest check in and out ever! Iman is so pleasant and caring. Our stay was wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was so quiet! Will definitely stay here again.

Check in went great but when we got to our room we had no couch. No seating area like in the picture. We were only staying a night so I didn’t complain. It would’ve been nice to have somewhere to sit after the long day of shopping though.

Quiet area and clean property. Staff was great. The room was missing seating. There was a big open space that could have easily been filled with a couch or a small table and chairs.

Amazing stay, was very quiet and comfortable room. The only thing was there must have been a remodeling, the room was missing a couch, which wasn't needed but would have been nice. Everything was fantastic otherwise.

There was no couch in room or a night stand for the other side of bed. There was no bag for our dirty laundry.

The front desk staff were excellent. Cleaning staff were very helpful and attentive. Great location, comfortable and well appointed rooms.

There is an AC unit in the room against the window super far from the bed. The wall thermostat did not work or turn on or control anything. I was really upset because it wasn’t working and the AC was not great. Please update the rooms and make sure the thermostat is actually working

The lady that checked me in was great and very friendly. Facility clean and up to date. Overall a good experience.

The front desk staff member who greeted me at arrival, Iman was very friendly and exemplified what hotel hospitality should always be. She was courteous and professional. At checkout, the other female front desk person mirrored that professionalism and courteous hospitality. I stay in hotels very often and wouldn’t be wonderful if all hotel staff were like that?

Super close to freeway, easy to find, wo derful staff that goes above and beyond. Iman is wonderfl.

The staff was very welcoming and very helpful. From the check in person to the person I checked out with. He went above and beyond going back up to my room when I thought I had forgotten an item. Also, the lady working the breakfast. She was wonderful and very friendly!

Front desk staff were great! Check-in was easy. Paid for breakfast with the room, supposed to end at 10 AM - got down to the breakfast room at about 9:40- almost no food left. Got a few scraps. We asked about it at the front desk and the hospitality lady, said we were late getting there! Not true. Front desk waived one of our fees to compensate, which was nice him.

I generally like DoubleTree hotels, but I didn't feel like this hotel was a good value. There were a number of problems or areas of concern. I'm not the complainer type, so I only brought one issue up with management, and left the other issues alone. The good: hotel is in a nice quiet location near Washington Square mall, and super convenient to the mall and freeway. Across the street is the fantastic Thirsty Lion Gastropub, which surprised the heck out of us (review elsewhere). The front desk folks were nice and efficient. The bathroom in our room was great, room temperature was great, bed was fine. The not-good: the hotel is either in the middle of a refurb or it needs some attention. Hallway walls were half painted (or half papered) on pretty much every floor. This included our room too. It doesn't look horrible, but it's noticeable. Our room had 2 TV's and one remote. The pullout sofa bed had no sheets, so I called for them (no answer) and went down to front desk. She handed me a pile of sheets and a couple towels. The sheets were for a crib (clearly didn't fit the sofa bed), but we made do. The fridge froze our water, with no way to turn it down. Breakfast was okay (again, staff very nice), but can't believe they charge $15/person. Other hotels in the area at a lower or same per-night amount include it for free. Parking was $10, and seemed excessive since there was tons of parking. Price for value, I wouldn't stay here again. YMMV.

The service at the hotel was amazing. The front desk staff and the women who maintained the breakfast area were so nice. Our only complaints were the shower, the pillows, and the restaurant/breakfast. Our shower floor was very stained or dirty. The bottom was black. The pillows are down and went flat so easily. The breakfast was basically a continental breakfast and not worth an additional charge of $15.00. It was great that they have a bar and some bar food for folks that don't want to go out.

The hotel had excellent staff who made sure we were well taken care of. The breakfast buffet is good with lots of options. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The only thing that could have been improved upon is to restock the room coffee and tea each day. Sometimes we didn’t receive any and would have to go down to the lobby to get it. Overall an excellent stay.

Wonder staff, the breakfast is $15.00 which seems expensive with identical offerings as the free breakfast at the holiday inn or best western.
