The one thing i dont like about the property is the continual statement that the rooftop bar will be open soon. After two years of saying that it becomes a lie. If you dont know when or if it will be open just say that.

My only complaint is I have been there twice within a year to two years and the upstairs bar is still not complete. You would like to go up there have a drink and I have to walk around. I don’t know what’s going on, but I will think next time, whether to stay there because of the bar, the rooftop bar. It has taken too long to get fixed. What’s going on?

The customer service was not up to par for a Marriott. I had to wait for 45 minutes to be shuttled from the cruise terminal to Tremont hotel (7 min. drive). I was not informed that the shuttle was dropping off other guests nor was I told that he was having battery issues. The front desk workers did not try to make it right.

Favorite hotel in galveston. So many dining and entertainment options within walking distance from the hotel. They also offer a cruise parking option with your hotel stay. $100 for a week long cruise. They shuttle you to and from the cruise terminal but it's literally 2 maybe 3 blocks away

Hotel is very nice and beautiful. Great lobby with good light colors. Decorations in lobby are very nice. Our room was big and very cozy with good furniture arrangements. Bathroom is big too and convenient. Everything was very clean. Bed was good too. Cafe in lobby was good with tasty food. Rooftop bar was excellent with great view and music. Valet parking was good. The Room had huge bed bugs!! If you go be very careful and check. Luckily we checked and the hotel manager wasn’t really surprised which is a huge red flag.

Love this property traditionally. We stayed in a suite this time due to have a family of 6 versus our normal 4. The suite room 342 was not well taken care of. The shower head had not been cleaned in some time, the toilet wobbled on the tile, mold around the light switches and around the AC vents. Outside of that the location and staff is great.

First the good stuff: this hotel is beautiful and in a fabulous location on the Strand, with easy walk to great restaurants and shopping. Overall, the service was very good, and we had a good meal in the cafe. But ultimately a very disappointing stay. We got an “atrium view” room, not knowing that this meant if you opened your curtains you’d basically be staring across a small space into someone else’s room across the atrium. With the curtains closed there was zero natural light and it felt very gloomy. The rooftop bar (a big reason why we booked here) was closed for renovation and the lobby had no exterior view, so there was literally nowhere to go for a view and unfiltered sunshine. I woke up after the first night with spider bites on my ankles that were so bad I insisted on switching rooms. Staff complied and were very apologetic and moved us to a nicer room with an exterior view. I found out after checkout that they’d charged us $20 more on the second night, no doubt for the “upgrade” that we wouldn’t have asked for if there weren’t bugs in our first room. Lastly, the valet service was excruciatingly slow, even though the valet staff were working their butts off and doing their best, because cars get parked in a garage 3-4 blocks away and these poor guys have to literally run there to get cars - the hotel doesn’t even have someone to shuttle them back and forth so they don’t kill themselves and guests can get their cars in less then 20 minutes. Disappointing.

This is an old hotel that’s been updated. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. But we were given a room on the first floor down the hall from check-in, the elevators and common area. It was very noisy from 7:00 AM (when they start playing courtyard music) until 11:00 PM. Also, our room was right next to the street and valet parking which also made for lots of noise. I liked the hotel for the great location but didn’t like all the noise.

Was talked into switching room from 2 Queens to a King to allow a family of 4 to have our original room Was told that the room would be bigger. At the same cost as the 2 bed room. However the room was smaller , and was sharing the wall with the elevator. Each time the elevator went up or down our room experienced the noise and vibration. All day, all night long! Would not go back to the Tremont. Next time the Grand Galvez !

Very elegant hotel in wonderful location one block from The Strand. We Had had a room facing the large interior skylight of the hotel. We found it to be very dark. Also, most of the furniture is lovely design-wise but very uncomfortable. Beds excellent. No desk in room. No drawers in dresser - only shelves.

Worst Stay in my life. The wall vibrated every time the elevator went up and down. It was horrible. Very disappointed in the hotel definitely was not worth the money that we had paid for that one evening $450 is a lot to listen to your wall vibrate every time the elevator goes up and down.

The room (which is apparently the same for all of the rooms) did not have a desktop where I could work on my laptop. In the bathroom, there were no hooks to hang bathrobes on. In the cafe, the lattes we had (on several occasions) were luke warm - they did not have a microwave to warm them up.

The location is great but I have to say that it was the smallest $350 a night room I ever stayed at. We bumped into everything just trying to walk around the bed. Within walking distance of the strand but …

The valet service was horrible. Antiquated communication methods and could no one would answer the phone to get car ready. Very poor service for charging $36! Also had a scratch on the passenger side door that I found when I arrived home! Also the light switch and receptacle in the bathroom were coming out of the wall! For the rating and price of this hotel, expected much more!

The hotel and staff were lovely. However, the valet parking, which you are basically forced to do, is extremely expensive and the valets are rude and incompetent. It was a very negative part of our stay there. The Tremont needs to hire another valet service of get the one they have in much better shape.

This was our third stay at the property but the service this time was disappointing.10 mins wait for front desk to answer a call. Requested that the sofa bed be made up - sheets left but not made up and no blanket. Bartender was more interested with her phone that service.

We loved our stay at the Tremont. We were there to board a cruise ship the next day. Everyone was exceptional! We got extra special attention especially with my Mom who uses a walker! The elevator to the sidewalk was perfect. Lori gave us a private tour and Jarvis was so attentive to my mom. Thank you for a very memorable time in Galveston!

Arrived late after letting the property know multiple times of a flight delay. Room we reserved was "not available". Front desk workers were unhelpful and rude. Acted like we were the most annoying people in the world and all I did was check in. Super disappointed and sad because other people raved about this review. The property was beautiful and the breakfast on site was great. The staff working there were all amazing. Unfortunately, still won\'t recommend to others based on our experience.

The hotel staff was great and the rooms were clean and nice. We had breakfast on property, which was pretty bland. I really took off some stars for the valet service. I have traveled quite a bit all over the world and have never been to a place where the valet couldn’t care less that you were standing there. When we unloaded our stuff and clearly needed help, they just watched us struggle and drop things. While the hotel was nice, we probably won’t be back because we felt very unwelcome.

The staff was abrupt, dissmissive and not very professional. The room was nice but did not have some amenities that lesser hotels have included. We stayed in a room on an outer wall and it was very loud outside the hotel all night until 2 in the morning. I have stayed at many properties in different cities and paid less for better quality and a more professional staff.

I loved the ton m room, but the food - dinner and breakfast- were terrible and I had no hot water in my room and at 4:00 am I went to the desk and told the girl and she said a technician could come to my room in a while and I said I’m alone and no they aren’t going in my room because I’m sure I’m not the only one and she ok and did nothing!! Absolutely nothing! I couldn’t shower! I had to wash my face in cold water, and it was a joke because for $500 a night plus $25 a drink and $30 for a flat bread pizza - I expected more!!

The valet and check in staff were very friendly and made everything super easy. Our room was gorgeous and very comfortable. The downstairs bar was amazing and we really enjoyed the live music. Only downside was the following morning. We went to order at the Cafe but the staff was very rude and disorganized. We ended up canceling our order and leaving, as did several other people. Check out was easy. Would definitely stay here again.

The building is historic and beautiful. The original architecture and design elements were maintained during a modernization process. The room was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. Staff of the hotel were welcoming and friendly. My only observation about anything to consider improving might be the staff in the breakfast restaurant, all of whom were efficient and professional while all simultaneously appeared unhappy. It was striking in comparison to the rest of the hotel and our experiences at other restaurants in Galveston.

Stopped here for a quick one night stay. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The only downside was breakfast. Ordered a basic breakfast, the eggs were bland, the bacon was super stiff and salty and even though I ordered the GF toast, they failed to mention the potatoes had gluten. Beautiful place, just not great food.
