I'm pretty picky about hotels, but I booked late and didn't really want to spend $600 a night. This really was a good place to stay. We were able to walk to the beach. It was clean, the bathroom was clean, the beds were nice and there were hardwood floors. The only thing is I wish the pool was nicer. It looked a little murky and cloudy. My daughter works for a pool company and wouldn't let us get in because she said the chemicals were probably off and it was not clean enough. Personally, I think it's just old and that made it look less clean. Other than that, it was a great stay. Breakfast is great if you just want something light. It was your typical continental breakfast. Eat light there and save your calories for one of the great restaurants on the island for lunch and dinner. The staff is fantastic! We left something not even valuable in the room, and they personally called me later in the day to let me know.

We were informed upon arrival they were short staffed and would not be getting room maintenance or fresh towels unless we go to the front desk to get them ourselves. The water in the pool was a dark green. Eewww.

Pool is dirty and green. Breakfast was a joke. No meat or protein, there was only bread muffins waffles cereal apples yogurt orange juice and coffee. Very lame.

Great value in Galveston at the Seawall and 61st street. Hotel was fresh, clean and comfortable. The rooms have balconies which is a nice feature when at the island. Breakfast is not amazing but plenty of great breakfast and coffee options in Galveston so get out and explore.

Was a comfy room. I removed the drain plug in the tub and it had mold growing on the bottom of it…. Also people above us sounded like they were gonna fall through the ceiling. But other than that it was a nice comfortable stay for the price!

The facility itself is very very old. The rooms and hallways smells like mold and mildew. The air in the room has a damp feel. Didn’t enjoy my one night stay at all. Staff overall were really nice.

This hotel needs to work on their cleaning. First we had to move my parents to a new room due to a terrible mildew smell. Then I went to shower and looked up at the shower head which had not been cleaned in who knows how long , so that didn’t happen. Then I notice gum stuck to the edge of my nightstand. Just gross.

The room was great. It seemed fairly clean and was comfortable. The hallways smelled terrible and the breakfast left something to be desired. They had no protein whatsoever. They did have waffles, muffins, mini cinnamon rolls and orange juice.

The beds were absolutely horrible and not comfortable at all. It felt like a spring mattress from the 80s. I would’ve expected something better from a Wyndham branch. All other amenities were OK. The lobby was well kept and we unfortunately had to leave before breakfast was being served the next morning, but the breakfast area looks clean from what we saw.

Paper-thin walls with Mexican Polka club music coming through all night, lumpy beds, questionable couple in the pool during checkout. The overnight counter staff was fantastic at attempting to locate and stop the source of the music, but it persisted until nearly 4am. 2 stars for a structurally sound building, clean lobby and effort by the front desk staff. Definitely feel swindled out of far too much money for the experience. Will choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

The room was like a normal older hotel. I was more do Disappointed that I searched high and low for a balcony room to see the ocean.. my room faced a parking lot and another hotel. The balcony was hot and felt very little ocean breeze. Maybe I misread what I was getting. That was the biggest thing I wanted in my room. Overal the room was clean, the air conditioning worked well. Wished we had thicker blankets on the bed, as I was cold both nights. we didn’t eat the breakfast, and the coffee in the rooms was not good. But on a side note, it’s about a block away from the ocean, so be prepared to walk. And it’s pretty close to the pier and amenities of what Galveston Seawall has to offer.

Having stayed at Baymonts before, I had higher expectations. To be clear, the room itself was grand, large, with excellent and ample furnishings, chairs, a fine desk, and a very nice balcony. The bed was great, comfortable. But everything in this hotel is dated and it shows. The power outlets were sparse, worn, & loose. The HVAC is poor to awful. Too cold or too hot, no comfortable range - because the thing is old and worn, it cannot keep up. But it does work. The free-standing lamp did not work. The TV is tiny. This place badly needs a facelift. New electrical connections - outlets, USB ports, and USB C ports. The doors, shades, etc, all need modernizing. But for the price, you cannot do better than this. Very nice

We actually arrived a day early. Jessie at the front desk said no problem she can fix any issues and she did so with a great attitude and friendly spirit. She was very pleasant to work with and gave us the information about the area that we ask for. She is a definite plus.

The hotel is super clean and room was as well. The only downside to this hotel is the breakfast. They only have waffles which had a weird taste, mufdins, two types of cereal and toast. We had to go out to eat for breakfast everyday because the selection is not very good at all. I know this is continental breakfast but there are other places way better. The pool is pretty small too but thats not such a big deal since the ocean is a quick 5 minute walk. All in all, this hotel is very clean and rooms are great for price.

There was no water for an extended period of time despite being told it would be only 15 minutes until water service would be restored. No showers, no brushing teeth, no real explanation. Property is in need of significant renovations. We would not return. Breakfast consisted of waffles/coffee not much else. Subpar experience despite having low expectations.

Staff friendly and quick. The only down side was bathroom. Toilet didn’t seem to flush well and could see where every screw and nail was put into drywall and around the door casing. But room was clean. We have stayed here a few times before our cruises. Would recommend.
