Hotel was great except room service closes 30-60 minutes early each night without notice. Their After hours menu opens about an hour later than the stated time, so don't try to order any food from 9:30PM-11:00PM, you won't get it.

When we checked in, there was no hot water, so we had to take cold showers. The jacuzzi was not working, the Wi-Fi was down, and the pool was under maintenance. I booked this for our honeymoon night, but it turned into a horrible experience with no proper communication from the hotel. I contacted Expedia, and a representative named Wuhan tried to reach the hotel but couldn't get in touch. He raised a service request and informed me that someone would contact me within 72 hours to process a refund. I paid $200 for my honeymoon, and I was unable to enjoy it.

Overall a great stay although it would’ve been nice if we would’ve known that there was only one working elevator and the swimming pool was being repaired for our stay, but the staff was excellent.

This hotel is beautiful with great views. The only issue we had was that we tried to order room service after 10 and we were told the start arrive a little after 11. We tried several times after 11 and no one still answered. Also- there is no parking and valet is $55.

Waited over 25 min to get an elevator trying to checkout. Elevator was full every time it opened on the 3rd floor, super slow as well, eventually got tired of waiting and used the emergency exit stairs.

Some suggestion- for the price of parking would be nice to get assistance with bags or at least help with opening heavy front door. AC vent in restroom could use some cleaning. Blow dryer definitely needs cleaning/disinfecting — sticky to touch, grimy. Overall comfortable stay. For those who appreciate a firm bed this will deliver. Not so good for recently replaced hip. Clean. Friendly staff.

Historic building, great location. However it is not well maintained. The swimming pool is closed for maintenance(it looks like it has been on maintenance for a while), only 1 elevator working for the whole place, lobby doesn't like it has been cleaned for a while ( we found a margarita glass on one of the tables that has been on a table for so long that you couldn't move it), ice machines broken, the service at the restaurant for breakfast was very poor, bedding at our bedroom was dirty and stained.

Is a good hotel, and my view was nice in front of The Alamo, my only concern was that the pool was closed and they weren't aware of this on the website. Valet parking is a little pricey but was worth it because the hotel is a walking distance of downtown. The breakfast is too expensive (21.00) and served the same free option breakfast as other hotels. I chose IHOP which is just 5 minutes distance from this hotel. Customer service is very good they gave me a late checkout at 1 pm. Very spacious room and the beds were comfortable. Definitely, I will come back when the pool is ready to use :)

The property is beautiful and we loved the historical qualities. Howver, Not only did the valet service not offer to assist with my family's luggage, we found a fake fingernail in the middle of our floor and a dried up contact on the nightstand. Then the lovely modern walk-in shower ran water into the middle of the bathroom floor getting everything wet.

The room was not thoroughly cleaned before arriving. There was dried up contact lenses left on the nightstand from the previous occupants as well as leftovers in the little fridge. Also, it didn’t seem like the hardware from the shower was cleaned well. One of the few hotels that I’ve had to stay at that does not offer free breakfast. Ended up paying I believe $22.95 per person for a breakfast that most hotels would offer for free.

I liked the quietness of the hotel…guest weren’t noisy or loud .. at least not in the floor we stayed. But the bathrooms weren’t that cleaned & the room had a moldy & damp smell. The rugs were dirty & just very old & outdated.

I loved this building, it has retained is beauty and feels like walking into history. For those reviews criticizing the older style carpets and lack of updates; I say hogwash! Stay somewhere else. There are lots of options close by. The staff at the Emily Morgan so attentive and ready to serve a guest with what ever they require to make their stay comfortable. This property is walkable, easy access to food and shopping. I did take 1 star away because of the thermostat. I could not adjust the room temperature independent of a maintenance worker. To his credit, when the room was too warm he responded quickly but then the room was too cold and again, i could not adjust the thermostat. This could have been my room only? Roon 411. Or all rooms, im not certain. If I stay again and have the same issue, ill be calling maintenance serval times daily for thermostat adjustment. To be clear, I loved this property, i appreciated the architecture and preservation of history. The staff is amazing.

Wife found bug in shower to begin with, the view from our room was horrible, looking into and old empty pool and to other balconies. Also the room was pretty small. The room seemed like it was put together just to make it work but definitely not worth the money. Needless to say we won't be staying here again. The staff was great though.

I booked two king bed rooms. Our friends room was spacious and very nice. Our room was so small the bed was practically up against the wall and my husband had to crawl to the end of the bed to get out. We had no closet, no refrigerator and the bathroom was terrible. I would not recommend this hotel.

Check in was at 4pm when I arrived at 4:45pm the rooms were not ready. I was told they were cleaning both rooms at the time. We were to wait another 30minutes for check in . 5:35pm came around and still not ready. 5:50pm one room was ready. Again told the other room would be ready in minutes. 7pm came around room was still not ready. We went to dinner. When we arrived after 8pm the room was still not ready. This was the worst experience. Finally when we settled into 2nd room we only had one hour to enjoy the swimming pool. Never again will I spend time at this hotel !

This is one of the greatest hotels I've ever stayed before. I had a top floor room and a stunning view of downtown San Antonio. It did not disappoint. The service is amazing from the valet guys to the front desk to the bar. The staff is always willing to help. I look forward to returning soon.

Nice hotel, but there’s room for improvement, Phill, the check-in clerk, was attentive & followed-up twice. Valet was fast at fetching the car. Hotel smells amazing. Room is comfy, and you’ll enjoy breezy cool air conditioning (you have to hold the temp button down for a couple seconds to change temp). Water temp and pressure is good. Room fridge keeps drinks icy, which was a nice surprise. Hotel is quiet. But, it’s running on a skeleton crew and hotel is a little dated (2000s Tuscan trend colors with glass, barn doors for the shower area was a odd). You get a private water closet, but the glass doors don’t provide proper privacy. Plus, there are gaps depending on how you shut them, so if you are modest, get your own room. Apparently, there’s a labor shortage because there was no bell hop to load and transport luggage. My elderly mother and I were loaded and unloaded all of our luggage on arrival and departure. Only one valet helped with my rolling brief case the second day. No luggage cart available on check out, so we had to take all our pieces to the car. The valet brought the car keys to the concierge desk & then didn’t help take luggage to the car. It was bizarre, and yes, I tipped every time. We tried to order an in-room snack off the late menu, the binding of the notebook in this room was crumbling apart, which is gross. And, no answer—ever. Ordered Dominos, which took a solid hour. Not the end of the world but inconvenient. Housekeeping at request only.

Rodolfo at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. When the key card machine was needing to be reset he took us the the room to get settled and brought the keys a short time later. Which had been upgraded which was extra special as it was my wife and my anniversary

The young lady that checked me into hotel was rude and not accommodating to my having a previous reservation and simply had me run my card for what i was told to be just for incidentals which ended up being for full amount of my stay which was prepaid through 3 party vendors already. Thus, charging my bank account twice the amount for the stay and being rude on top of it.Upon calling back to get the accounting straight i am told there is no compensation and that my money will be returned in approx. 5 to 10 business days. I feel i am out my money for 2 weeks i should be compensated for something or discounted stay and return more than just the double pay. Apparently, they do not rely on repeat business and do not need my money anymore. BEWARE OF RUDE STAFF AND DOUBLE CHARGES.

The hotel is conveniently located to downtown attractions. We could easily walk to nearly all the San Antonio major attractions. The room was well designed. I liked having a refrigerator to keep water cold daily. Bathroom was large. There is a restaurant in the lobby.

The distance to the Alamo, and therefore most of the main area of San Antonio, is hard to beat. My two gripes about this hotel are very simple. The first is the construction going on by the Alamo which complicated travel in that direction and will be going until 2027/2028, but it's not forever. Second, the age of the hotel showed with the elevators. Only two for the whole building to use and one went out of service.

We loved The Emily Morgan! The check-in process was a pleasant experience, and we also loved the later checkout policy. And oh, the charm and location of that beautiful hotel! We loved being able to walk to dinner and feel that we were in a safe, clean area. Everything we wanted to access was convenient and close. Thank you for a great stay!

Almost everything was good about this place. The smell when you walking in was great! Our room wasn’t the room we had booked but it was clean. DO NOT HAVE THE BREAKFAST! We spent 55$ on moldy fruit and over cooked eggs. Coffee station in the dining was messy.

The Emily Morgan is quite beautiful, inside and out. Literally across the street from the Alamo. The room was comfy, but TINY. No shampoo in the shower dispenser, and a random towel hanging off the bathroom light. The service at the bar was great as well as the drinks. Breakfast buffet was blah.For $25 we expected more than the typical hotel free breakfast. Only CoffeeMate (gross) for coffee,which we had to ask several times for.Service for breakfast was practically non-existent. Valet guys were nice!

The history of the hotel is fascinating and the location is wonderful but otherwise not worth it. They do not have a working pool as advertised, and have you walk 2 blocks to a La Quinta to swim, the elevators work sometimes, the key cards stopped working and despite engineering coming to work on them we had to be moved to a different room after the hotel had to break in for us to be able to get our things. The bar is convenient, the coffee is amazing, but the food is terrible and not worth paying for. We’ve stayed at the Crockett and the Menger and unfortunately The Emily Morgan does not compete with either of them.
