Hyatt Vacation Club at Wild Oak Ranch

A few of the reviews worried me, but I'm so glad we stayed here! We stayed as a family with our 4 & 7 year olds, and being a smaller resort, it was perfect for them. We loved the slides, lazy river / sandy beach area, and hot tubs scattered around the grounds. It rained a bit while we were there, so the pools / lazy river being heated was great! So great to have dry and warm towels available as well. The s'mores were fun. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Yes, the pool and lazy river had a few leaves because of all the live oak trees, but it wasn't bad at all (didn't feel gross), and totally worth it for such pretty surroundings. We also appreciated that they allow you to use the amenities before check-in and after check-out. The price was so worth what you get here. Our room was on the ground level in the Mountain Laurel building. Even with the rain, we didn't have one bug in the room. It was very clean, bed was comfy, water was hot and had great pressure. A few little things may have some wear on them, but overall, it was great - absolutely nothing to complain about! Also, getting our parking pass from the timeshare desk wasn't bad at all - they were not pushy at all and really super nice. I am so glad we found this place. Definitely a hidden gem!

Lazy river and sandy beach was a huge hit for us kids loved playing there for hours . Pool was great too , room was fantastic . We will go back soon

This property is beautiful, family friendly! Staff is amazing, Food and drinks are amazing. The room was very clean and was equipped with all the things needed to make our stay very comfortable. Housekeeping/ Wait staff were spectacular, friendly and very helpful. My critiques are that some of the amenities close a little early. The Lazy River closes at 8pm, staff start to clean up earlier than 8 and ask you to leave. Sauna was out of order and check out is a little earlier 10am than most properties. I would however, highly recommend this resort.

Wild Oak Ranch has it all including high pressure sales staff to entice you to buy into the Hyatt Vacation Club. Unfortunately during our stay the lazy River was down for maintenance, as well as one of the outdoor jacuzzi’s. Activities for families are good

The property is like an old southwest town, multiple buildings with an old look. Inside the buildings are very current. There are walking paths everywhere. The room/condo I stayed in with my family was very spacious. There is minimal parking however. The lot next to my building was full by 7:00 PM and had to park 150-200 yards away. There is also a resort fee that is on too of the expedia booking rate, for my room and stay it equalled @ 30.00 a day. Not a big deal. Overall would definitely stay here again. The family and I loved it.

Overall great place but they should announce on their page or website that the lazy river is closed on Monday and Tuesdays… that’s why alot of people go Other than that great time

The restaurant was terrible. The pool bar was closed for undisclosed reasons during a weekend stay. We enjoyed the lazy river and that’s it. Rooms were clean but the facilities lacked adult beverage service, food quality, couldn’t bring coolers inside pool area’s and the fact that the pool bar remained closed with no alternative options will be the reason we don’t return. I would rather pay more and get my moneys worth. Disappointed

Toe nail clippings in our room, dirty cups, dirt in bathtub, disgusting restrooms at the pool, no staff at the pool and clueless when there was. Bar was closed on a SATURDAY. Drinks were watered down at $15. Restaurant had only two workers on a Saturday. Sunday the restaurant was closed. We paid more for a suite than my brother did for a one bedroom and my sister did for a two bedroom. Things aren’t making sense. Then I still had to pay a resort fee and deposit over $300. Wish I could get a partial refund but I know Expedia is impossible to work with.

Very nice property, well-maintained. Bed was super comfortable! Would have liked for the concessions around the lazy river to be open.

Over we really enjoyed the pool and lazy river I felt like there were some small things like A pubic hair in our tub on the shampoo bottle And our t v didn’t work most of the time Also a part to the current fell off for no reason But other than tht was a pretty good experience

The room was very clean, and all staff were very friendly.

The grounds and the room were very clean and beautiful! We had most everything we needed. The cleaning staff didn’t speak English so it was difficult to convey to them what we needed. We needed a bar of soap for the kitchen and she gave us towels and wash clothes instead. Maybe a laminated chart with pictures to aid in communication would be beneficial.

Overall, we loved our one night stay here and would love to return. That being said, there are definitely some improvements that could be made such as clearer instructions to getting to your room, more dining options, and pest control. We rented the 2 bedroom villa and encountered quite a few water bugs in our room, we even watched one come out from underneath the front door even though it was closed. I was disappointed by the dining options as well. This is a huge, beautiful property with one single restaurant that only serves “ready made breakfast” from 8 am to 10 am I believe. That didn’t work with our schedule. The pool is very nice and the lazy river with a small beach was definitely the highlight of the trip. The grounds are sprawling and there is definitely a lot of walking to be done. It was very hot but there was thankfully a lot of shade around the property.

I liked the room, very clean and spacious. The front desk staff were friendly and answered all my questions. The pool, hot tub and lazy river are great and relaxing. The only down fall was that they need to do a better job at cleaning the hot tub. Overall, the stay was great. Would return.

The ice machine is very dirty and looks like it's never cleaned. It was leaking water too. The water machine located in between the bathrooms at the pool area - does not work. Signage for pool and/or lazy river could be much better. The speakers at the Lazy River were not all working. Our room was nice and the bed is VERY comfortable. Front Desk staff are awesome!!! Most staff were great! Daily events for family was fun! Smores at night is a wonderful thing to do. Lazy River is fantastic! Tubes were located in so many places. The Pool is clean and the slides were great!

The grounds of the property were well-kept and the pool, lazy river, and other amenities were easy to access. Didn’t like the rooms - they are apartment style such that you can hear everyone walking by and all talking/noise through the wallls. Very loud and hard to sleep. Wouldn’t stay there again.

beautiful property with lots of things do to. only complaint is the livingroom TV didn't have a remote and called to the front desk and reported it. never did get it fixed before we left! But the other two TVs working fine.

Pros: Loved the last river. Bed was very comfortable. Very clean, had everything we needed to cook. The staff was very friendly. Also loved the sauna and steam room. Con:The water faucet was loose and had no cold water in kitchen. The dish washer didn't work that great had to hand wash dishes. The wifi didn't work for 2 of our 4 day stay, and the handle didn't work to get to the balcony in the studio.

Absolutely no hot water for the 4 days I was there. I tried to shower at different times to see if that was an issue, nope just no hot water. Beware of steps at night. The lighting is dim so pay attention to where you step. First night I was there I didn’t see the step because the area near elevators was dark and sprained my ankle. It was one hell of a fall.

Nice room with kitchenette/ coffee. Hard to get the water to heat up in shower though. The sheets were low quality, bed was comfortable other than the itchy sheets.

Very clean and great room! Freezer didn’t work and we were there for ten days. Checked in, brought groceries back and put them away. Next day had to throw away all frozen foods. Front desk lady said she had no other room to put us in. Wasted over a hundred dollars in groceries. Then, they cut water off at night and the loudest banging at at 0215. We ordered food on another day and they served us mold filled fruit. Three issues in 10 days and was given $150 off the total.

The room was nice overall, but it would’ve been better with a full-sized mirror. I called for a late checkout and the person who answered sounded very nonchalant, like they didn’t really want to be on the phone. I asked for the late checkout because I wasn’t feeling well, and while it was approved, housekeeping still knocked right at 10 AM and woke me up. Then the front desk called shortly after, which turned into a sales pitch. That call definitely could’ve waited, especially since it defeated the purpose of the late checkout. Overall a decent stay, but nothing spectacular.

The staff was excellent, thrle room was beautiful with a lot of space, and the lazy river was beautiful. My husband and grandchildren loved it!

The ranch is a beautiful retreat very close to Sea World. The ride into San Antonio can be daunting. The roads are hectic and not for the light of heart. I was disappointed in the hard sell for the vacation club. The process becomes a hard push at the end and can be intimidating. The 90 minute promise wasn’t kept. I had difficulty with the WiFi and wasn’t able to use my phone or iPad outside the main office. The only eatery is a small, pricey, cafe that had a great grilled cheese sandwich with fries a Coke for a little under $20.00. (It was a kids meal.) Unless you head to get groceries and alcohol you’re going to reach your food and fun limit quickly. I was disappointed in the extremely high prices for everything. If you have it’s 20 bucks for a skimpy tie die T shirt project. Crushed icee with syrup was 3.00. You have to pay for everything. They even sell s’more equipment. Drinks are very pricey too. Beautiful property with a lazy river, pools, hot tubs, kids club, slides, trails, golf etc. also included is construction of a new adult area along with the noise and dust of excavation. I would not go back. Very hilly, lots of up and down walking and not very handicapped accessibility.

We were not expecting the sales pitch for the Vacation Club. We spent 5 hrs with Sales rep. After we signed up for the club, we went back to our room and read more details of the contract. We had questions and began researching what we bought. Turns out the BBB rated this vacation club "F". We sent in our club cancellation letter the very next day. If you don't mind a lot of families, no restaurant that serves take out breakfast only and hearing a lot of yelling past 11:00 pm from adults, then this is the place for you. Do not recommend.

Staff was friendly and grounds were vey well kept also lots to do for kids and adults alike.

My family and I have been visiting Hyatt Vacation Club at Wild Oak Ranch in San Antonio every year since 2019 for my oldest son’s birthday. It used to be one of our favorite traditions, but this year’s stay from October 31–November 2, 2025, was deeply disappointing. When my parents arrived before us to check in, the front desk agent was rude and dismissive. They left upset and waited until I arrived, when a gentleman named Diego kindly resolved the issue. After check-in, we encountered multiple problems that made our stay uncomfortable. The fire-pit area was closed both nights, even though it’s a highlight for families. The largest hot tub was out of service — staff said it’s been broken since March — and our unit had no hot water for two days despite several maintenance calls. My mother and I also became sick after eating burgers from the on-site food service. The biggest concern came the first night, when an intoxicated guest backed her truck into mine and drove off unaware. The area was dimly lit and unsafe. We’ve always loved this resort for its family atmosphere, but this trip left us disheartened. Even my son said he’d rather celebrate elsewhere next year. I truly hope management addresses these issues so other families don’t experience the same disappointment.

The property was attractive and conveniently located. Unfortunately, that is where the praise ends. The staff were not well trained (we received inaccurate guidance on at least 3 occasions) nor were they particularly kind. After a 15 hour travel day, we called to check if our room was ready early. They told us we had to come to the resort in order for that information to be shared. We arrived and were told it would be ready “shortly.” Two hours and $20 on a cup of chips and quarter cup of canned salsa plus a drink, the room still wasn’t ready. Or, they said, it actually was! But we need your ID and credit card again. Then, it wasn’t ready. Are you kidding? At check in, we were required to meet with the concierge. We were given a packet of restaurants and activities that was printed in 2020…. Literally four years prior, so the content was dated and things like restaurant hours were very inaccurate. No stamps or mailing options available on property. There were a lack of quality or healthy or fresh dining options, and what was available was expensive and obviously mass produced. One request for towels required multiple phone calls to fulfill over about 4 hours. Over our four day stay, we encountered more than 5 medium sized bugs in our room, multiple areas of the property which were being excavated with noisy jackhammers…. I won’t bore you with more details, but in short, we will not return and do not believe we received a fair value for the money spent.

Clean room. Family friendly-ish. They do not offer breakfast and restaurant closes a little realy in my opinion. The front desk staff at check out was terrible. She was rude and not attentive at all. Which was very different from check in. Check in was very pleasant.

Our stay was amazing. The hotel was situated in a nice secluded area. It was near alot of restaurants and grocery stores. We wanted something near Sea World. It delivered on that as well.

Very clean and comfortable, close to freeway but felt secluded, and an unexpected animal encounter!

The resort is nestled just outside of San Antonio, so it is very easy to get into the city. Close enough to the city for access to activities, but far enough away to get the “country” feel. There was also shopping with in walking distance or a short drive. The staff were warm and inviting. Whatever I needed, I just had to ask and it came right to me. The lazy river was smaller than I thought, but still lovely. There were also a number of individual and family activities available. I will definitely be returning.

Loved seeing deer and wildlife all over property it was far from San Antonio events u might want to go see

Property was nestled under the trees on a large amount of property. Felt like you were in the middle of the hill country when you weee actually in the city limits of San Antonio. Nice pool and lazy river.

Parking was very limited to be split between to the first 2 buildings.

This property is expansive, full of trees and plants that make you feel like you’re out in the country, even though you are minutes from the highway. The rooms are nice, accommodated well, with very comfy beds. The resort is full of opportunities to create memories with your family. Water slides, large pool, on-site restaurant, larger, BBQ station with multiple grills, multiple fire pits under plant adorned pergolas, putting green, nearby golf course, two horseshoes pits, walking trails plus a little playground, perfect for your very little ones.

Lets start with negative first. When we checked out at 6.20am there was no one around. The office doesn't open until 7am. We had brought the key cards and wrist bands to turn in at checkout. Thought that was little odd. No drop box or anything. Positive side property was clean. Didbt have much to do with needing staff assistance. The lazy river was very nice area for relaxing. This is a time share resort. We didn't get involved with the 90minute tour. They didnt pressure us either. That was good. Its in good location for food,shopping another plus. Everything on the property is in walking distance. Another plus,room was clean, bed was very comfortable. I would recommend this resort. I would stay at this resort again. They have activities daily for kid's and adults.

Be aware there is a $75 resort fee. Both pool bars were closed, the restaurant was never open, 2 servers for the whole resort, and incorrect food was brought. I’m unsure why there was a $75 fee when there was no staff anywhere or any extras. When I questioned the $75 I was told it was for the complementary parking. Also, the one drink I was able purchase was watered down and I was not the only one who said this.

The pool area was absolutely the best part of this property, but you have to have a issued pool card (each card worth two towels) and will be charged if you don't return. I was visiting from out of town along with my brother and his family (who were staying with friends and not at the hotel) and I had to BEG to get them towels and wristbands in order to have their children swim with mine. The "restaurant" doesn't serve a warm breakfast and the options available for heating in your own room were very over priced. The restaurant closed at 8:00pm so we often had to get meals elsewhere because we were out exploring most of the day. The room we stayed in was dated and the floors never felt clean. Overall, this place is good for people with small children who don't plan to leave the property much or have guests join them. It felt very overpriced for what was offered and the level of service and room quality didn't match the price.

We had an excellent stay! The staff were attentive and friendly. The property is beautifully maintained and great for families. The only restaurant at the resort (JB’s) serves overpriced drinks and bar food that is just okay. There are lots of dining options close to the resort where you can get better food for less money.

Beautiful resort on a very maintained property tucked away in a convenient location to many attractions and downtown river walk. The heated pools, water slides, and lazy river were amazing! The one bedroom suite was large and very clean. The cable was spotty and only worked occasionally. The onsite restaurant was below average for price and quality. Breakfast options were minimal with a grab and go option only. However the convenience of ordering drinks and food poolside were awesome. Everyone was pleasant and helpful.

The restaurant closed at 8pm, the lazy river closed at 8pm what type of resort are you?? We arrived really late due to terrible weather, which i totally understand was not your fault) and so we went to the restaurant immediately once we had put our luggage in our rooms, and were told we would have to basically take the food to go. The food when we got it was awful. We were really disappointed and you have lost a customer

Wish that the local restaurant on site was open past 7 pm.
