La Quinta Inn by Wyndham San Antonio Lackland

Property needs lots of simple maintence. Room 136:No batteries in smoke detector, crown moulding falling off, very mouldy around tub, fruit flies in sink, trash around property, pool chairs broken and not useable.

The floor was warped, like a big swell in the middle, we know bc i was in a wheelchair bc i had surgery last friday. The room was dirty. The pool was down. The key too the first room wasnt working. Then the 2nd room the tv wouldnt work. And then the water pressure was bad. So i would say all in all ot was pretty bad, but i didnt get to see the room before i paid or else i would have gone somewhere else. I really honestly would just like a refund.

We cannot get back every time we leave our room without the hotel staff letting us in. The hotel needs an overhaul. There are a lot of potholes.

La Quinta should NOT have their name on this deplorable property. We were greeted and checked in prompltly which was great. That's the reason for the 1 star. There is only ONE swimming pool, not 2 as advertised. Pool #2 had standing water in it which was disgusting. The condition of the room was equally disgusting. Here is a rundown of the conditions (see photos): - mold in the shower - human hair around the sink - missing smoke detector in room - missing fire extinguisher outside room - missing light bulbs in lamps - damage to walls (paint, drywall, etc.) - damage to floor molding - missing artwork with exposed hardware - no tissues provided - paper thin towels (rough texture) - bathroom door was falling off hinges - stains on headboard We booked at the last minute and got a good price. I feared for our health and safety.

It's lipstick on a pig The AC made weird noises and very loud Bathroom is dark Cockroachs, flies, etc Gym was not working, and pool was drained and had black stuff in it. 1 positive is it is very close to the base.

Great Internet access. Need to have both pools operational for better appearance of LaQuinta. So more people can enjoy their stay.

To start off, the gym was not available, not clean at all… had to disinfect the room when I arrived. The lobby is tiny, would be cramped during breakfast. Bathtub was clogging up when in the shower. It’s set up like a motel. I understand that there are renovations being done, but the rooms that are being rented out, should be in top condition. The only good thing about this, was the staff being friendly. Some staff members were passive aggressive and didn’t want to assist. Maintenance and the cleaning staff were always readily available and happy to help. If the pictures weren’t promising when booking, I wouldn’t have stayed here in a million years.

We stayed here 7 years ago for graduation, it felt like the rooms had been remodeled but everything outside is in bad shape. There was a lady that appeared to live there with 2 dogs that were never on a leash and barking all the time. We did love the pool but there are only about 5 chairs that you can sit in and the tables are rotted.

Door did not close properly. Broken secondary lock latch. Large gaps around door and AC unit let light shine in. 1 of 2 pools disrepair and only 1 working ice machine on this large property.

Housekeeping likes to rearrange your personal things as well. Dumpy hotel in general, super close to Lackland AFB and was incredibly cheap. But will never stay there again.

The room was extremely filthy. The sheets were not clean it had hair and crusted stains. The restroom was extremely filthy. There was a hole in the wall. The ac didn’t work only the fan did. The phone in room didn’t work and it was beyond dusty. The towels in the restroom were dusty. The shower was even more gross because it had black moldy thing on the edges and had hair all over. Man this place I am afraid will not make it if it continues in this condition. The only thing this place had was the front desk guy was so helpful and nice. We won’t mention how bad the mattress was. I slept maybe an hour that’s how bad it was. Thank God I had my own bed cover to use. I think sleeping in car would have been better. Definitely not la Quinta quality.

Horribly experience since the beginning, the first room was not even serviced the sheets were off the beds and trash bags. I had to complain i couldn't get a refund because i reserved through a 3rd party. Requested a clean room and it was still horrible, bad smell stained walls and bath tub, sheets were stained. I had to go buy an air mattress and new sheets and couldn't even shower because the tub was disgusting....while checking in 3 other people prior to me were also requesting a refund and complained of dirtiness. Pictures online are completely different than how it looks in reality. Front desk lady was extremely rude i really dont see how that place can even be open for business. ...it was far most the worse experience ever.

Room was dirty! Had trouble opening the room all the time we were there! Breakfast was nothing good, only cereal and toast! Staff was not friendly at all! Roof by entrance was torn down and put aside the curb! One window panel was broken and could see it was a piece of plastic glued on! Checked out early! Very disappointed!

Homeless people staying in the trees near the property. No rod to hang clothing. Hair left in several areas. Toiletries substandard.

This place was nasty there was bed bugs and roaches everywhere the sheets had stains all over them i had to go to Walmart and buy sheets to put on my bed the bathroom and floors were black and had mold on them the health department needs to close down this place immediately. Please don't ever go here

Upon arrival, front desk was unattended. There was no bell to ring for service, I waited 5 to 10 minutes before someone appeared. The room was not cleaned. Bugs and other critters were dead on the floor. It was evident the floor hadn’t been cleaned from the dirt and articles left on the floor from previous guest. The bed covers were not clean. Cigarette holes and stains in the bed linen. The tub was NASTY!! I would not recommend this location.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room is in terrible condition: no renovations have been done in a long time, everything is falling apart and looks awful. It's dirty everywhere, the floors are unwashed, and there are crumbs all over the place. I even found an insect in the bed, and the room was clearly not cleaned—there were other people's hair everywhere. The outdoor area is just as neglected and dirty. Complete lack of hygiene, I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s better to spend an extra hundred dollars and stay at a better hotel, especially if you're attending a Graduation parade and want your stay to be comfortable and stress-free!

The lock from our room didn’t work at all. We asked for it to be fixed, but they couldn’t, so they changed us to another room. However, we could check them prior moving and all the 5 rooms were dirty. We chose the less dirty and stayed there. In our 4 days stay, they never came for housekeeping.

My husband, my daughter and I booked our stay at La Quinta on 3/13-3/17/23 for my son’s Air force graduation at Lackland AFB. As we were trying to find the room, we walked past the filthy, moldy pool that had so much trash floating in it. We open the door to our room, and the smell of funk hit us swiftly. The mirror was full of some kind of slimy smear. We had a room with two double beds. Both beds had hair that was stuck in the pillowcases. The comforters had red stains and cigarette burns all over them. We pulled the sheet back and it was full of crumbs of some sort. There was leftover food in the mini fridge. The toilet had not been cleaned on account of someone had diarrhea stains on the inside. To top it all off, a lovely little note was left saying “this room was cleaned with confidence from Maria”. Stayed a total of 20 minutes in the room- and that was because we were looking for an alternative hotel. I was not about to suck it up and stay there for 4 days let alone lay in that bed! Was absolutely disgusting! This place charged $78/night. We went to the front desk and told the lady we were leaving. She said you need to call Expedia to cancel. That’s what we did and they had our full money refunded. I truly wish these 2 & 3 star hotels actually took better care of their rooms. The corporate office should do a surprise visit to see the nasty conditions! I have the photos, but they don’t give an option to upload them!

Mold on shower tiles. Bathtub didnt drain. Toilet water runs forever. Batteries dead in remote. Said 2 queen size beds they where full size. Outside of building huge water damage spot.

Front desk man was very unfriendly. Outside noise was very disruptive throughout the evening. Got awoken up numerous times with other people being very noisy.

I loved every that I had talked to. The only complaints I really have is 226 needs a new shower head the water pressure is to high for that small shower head it sounds like it’s going to pop off and high you in the head. And the door to get into the room needs to be fixed and I saw that a lot of the doors where the same it looks like someone was trying to brake in at one point and I was traveling alone it made me feel a little unsafe.

The staff was efficient and friendly. The room was smaller than expected & the beds were uncomfortable for two people to sleep in. They need queen size beds to accommodate 2 people in one bed. The bathroom was dirty. The vent in the bathroom was filled with dirt & my husband had to clean it. The tub had hair left on the walls & the caulking around the floor was coming apart. They should charge less to stay at this hotel for the state of the rooms.

The beds were not that comfortable and anytime you moved or got up from them they made a creaking sound that woke up the whole room. AC unit had a hard time keeping up with the outside temp. Staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. I did not like that there was no "Do Not Disturb" sign to hang on the door. House keeping comes in the room everyday. They change out the towels and will only touch the bed if it is clear of items which is a good thing.

The shower and toilets was extremely small we literally had to step out of the shower to scrub ourselves we couldn't even lift our elbows up. Never will i stay here again toilets was the same. The water pressure in the shower was very slow it was just bad restroom i felt like i was in a 3rd world County

I booked this because I have stayed in other La Quinta hotels and have always been pleased. I drove up and was greeted by a homeless community literally at the entrance of the hotel, not to mention I had to double check that it was the right hotel because it looks nothing like the pictures. The staff was nice, checked, go to my room and i just wanted to leave. It's smells moldy, lights were all off, mind you it was 1am. The AC keeps you up all night, you can hear everything and everyone. It reminded me of the scary movie hotels off the road in a deserted town in the middle of nowhere. It was clean, as best as it could be. There were no blankets, only sheets, and the pillows have seen better days. The only plus was that it was at the gate of the AFB, we were there for my nephews graduation. Like I said the staff was nice, very polite.

The front service was good. The people attending were nice. The room was ok. It felt dirty. The restroom wall is cracked behind the toilet. You can tell its old. The worst part was we were unable to sleep. It was 1-2am and other people were throwing themselves from the balcony to the pool. Making a lot of noise, cussing, yelling, there was a child crying. Overall it was terrible. At 6 am there was another lady yelling outside our room

We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, from the kitchen staff, housekeeping, front desk and management. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

When I had finally arrived to my room there were stains on the sheets and no room phone. I call I explained to the man at the desk that there were mystery stains on the sheets, mattress, and pillows... he told me he would fix it in the morning. I then explained that I had just entered my room and that I refused to sleep on a dirty bed with stains that weren\'t mine. He replied with "I can wait on my cleaning guy, he just stepped out so give me about 20 minutes and I\'ll send him up to look at it\'. I replied "thank you so much that would be really helpful,\' and he replied "cool." and hung up. Super unprofessional and nonempathetic. Whatever, I waited. 30 minutes had passed and I called again, "oh yeah he\'s on his way up room... number... what again" mind you it is now 8:15 PM and I knew he might be lying by the way he didn\'t even remember what room number he was sending the sheets to. Another hour goes by and I\'ve heard nothing so its 9:15 and I\'ve got an early morning waiting for me. I grab my bag and walk over the bridge to the front desk and I explain that I had been calling for some sheets and had been waiting over an hour and a half to receive them, of course, he quickly jumps into how they were grabbing the sheets as we spoke and I asked "is getting them as we speak". Low and behold that wasn\'t the case. I was moved to a 2 bed (prev. king), awful experience. I should\'ve been compensated for the headache but whatever, it is what it is. Don\'t stay here.

The only thing good about this hotel was that it was close to the Air Force Base, which is what we were there for. The homeless around there fortunately were very friendly but a lot. No ice, phone broke and no phone in one of the rooms, both rooms Missing hairdryers, which they did bring to us.

I like that our room was always kept clean, beds were always made, and bath towels were always ready. Breakfast was ready early. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I pulled into the parking lot and knew there was no way I would stay here. Homeless man having a fit in the parking lot. Drove around back and tent city on the other side of chain link fence. People standing there watching me pull around. Handles on some of the doors look like they were prayed off with crowbar. Called hotels.com and told them the conditions, they called the property and said I would get a refund. Still hasn't been refunded. My deductible on my truck is $500. My stay was $350.No doubt in my mind I would have been broken into every night. Honestly I didn't even bother to see how the interior was. Figured it was cheaper to stay somewhere else.

Pricing was reasonable, close to the airforce base was convenient, unfortunately area is not safe people sleeping right under the bridge next to hotel .no security at hotel .never booking again.

If you value your life, stay far away from this hotel. It’s located in a high crime area, and a lot of the clientele are very questionable.

If you are looking for a budget hotel convenient to Lackland, this is it.

We had a wonderful stay. Just 15 minute walk to the base it was not too bad except it was cold.

It was a convenient location for me to attend my son‘s graduation from Air Force. Basic training at Lackland. It did not give me sense of security by any stretch. But based on what I saw, the general area is like that so I wouldn’t blame it all on the hotel per se. Its old rooms are out of date no phones in the room to connect to the front desk. Very noisy from both customers who are staying there as well as the road itself next to it

Clean rooms, comfortable bed and good costumer service. Close to Lackland AFB. The area around the hotel is a bit sketchy there’s a homeless encampment a few feet away from the main entrance in a neighboring drainage tunnel. We saw the police on the property several times during our stay, at night there was a large group of people next door to us smoking and partying at night. They have cameras on the property but no security guard. The next morning we saw 2 cars with the busted out. It’s a nice hotel but I wouldn’t stay there again due the sketchy area and lack of security

There was not a full breakfast and when checked in the the room wasn't ready. I thought La Quinta was a good chain. Starting to rethink my choices!!!!

The property is old and in poor conditions. The free breakfast did not exist: waffle irons were broken and no milk for the cereal. Homeless persons surround the property. One of the pools was closed. Laundry and exercise rooms were closed too. Bathroom door could not be shut. Bed was comfortable though.

The buildings are a little old, and it shows, but they've been maintained well and for a "value" motel it's clean and in good condition, much better than other "value" motels that I've stayed at in San Antonio. Breakfast choices were quite limited, I would have like to see more choices, pretty much just waffels, bagels, and cold cereal, but I was very pleased that they started breakfast early on the days of the BMT graduation.

Property exterior is not like the one shown in website. Breakfast is limited and they are not refiling. Crowd was high poor dinning table maintenance.

Will not stay here again. Terrible property, mold in the bathroom. Breakfast wasn't very good. Had a waffle machine that didnt work well. Room was clean but no conditioner with tiny bar of doap.

The hotel is disgusting!! The rooms smell, there are no towel hooks and the floor has dead bugs. We ended up having to switch hotels. While convent to JBSA Lackland and they do an early breakfast on graduation days, overall not worth it. Find something else.
