First time at the Island. Hotel is a decent price for having beach access and has a McDonald's in front for an easy dining option. The beach access is less than five minute walk. Guess since we were in a hotel area of the beach, beach didn't seem crowded. Me and the wifie gonna stay here again.

Great Customer Service and breakfast buffet was excellent everyday. Different varieties to choose from. Easy access to the beach and great rates. The pool and hot tub was very clean and stay open until 11pm. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Limited options for tv and channels. Pool under renovation. Entrance to property difficult to see from the road. Exiting the parking lot to busy main road crosses bicycle lane. People riding the wrong direction on bicycle lane makes pulling out dangerous especially at night.

Clean, comfortable room, great breakfasts. The bad, pool and hot tub closed the whole week I was there (one of the main reasons I chose this hotel). At checkin I was told they might be open in 3 days, or by the weekend. Any time I went to check I was told "We dont know". Sadly, I never got to use hot tub at all.

I will stay again here. It was perfect besides the weight room.Every piece of equipment was broken except for the weight tree.Everything else was a 5 star!!

Mold in the room. Everything was damp from humidity outside so rooms aren’t well insulated. Staff know about the mold problem because they have the bathroom fan hardwired to stay on permanently. This of course is now a fire hazard. Definitely would NOT recommend anyone stay here.

I paid for beach view and got to see a sliver of beach. It smelled like mold and mildew throughout the entire hotel. My comforter was stained and dirty. The showerhead was clogged with mold. Breakfast was good!

Rooms were dirty, outdated and smelled moldy. The tv didn’t work to plug in gaming console, apparently they took the ability to use input or HDMI input cables for Roku’s or gaming consoles which we did not know and got stuck, trying to program a remote for two hours and then ended up with a 30 inch TV off the bracket from the wall sitting on the desk. The staff was somewhat helpful, but just not really Caring relatively and the outlets on the walls didn’t work. The phone didn’t work and it was very muggy and humid.

I got tricked into staying here by hotel.com they had bad pictures up. Once I got in there the hotel refused to give a refund, I figured it was only one night, but there was mold all over the lamps, fridge, and the carpet made my feet black. This place should not be charging a 100$ a night, the tv also was messed up and they had maintenance come down after 45 mins and then when I came back it still was not working.

We paid a whopping 380$ for a two-night stay, but it was an absolute waste of money. The hotel was in a state of disrepair, with moldy carpets and a musty smell throughout the rooms. Some fixtures even had rusty and live mold growth. To make matters worse, we had no internet connection for the entire two nights, and the front desk’s response to our complaint was completely unprofessional and devoid of any remorse. The phone line was dead, and almost everything in the hotel felt like it was from the 1960s, with only minimal upkeep. I’ve even seen better motels at half the price we paid here. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel, especially at this price point.

They do have German roaches (small ones), curtains by AC are moldy, breakfast is good, beach access is good, manager offered to move to a new room (with moldy curtains), no room service, due to staffing issues, they were supposed to give me partial refund $60 but never got it, hence the review, my father in/law and sis in/lawn stayed there as well as i recommended it, we will all stay elsewhere next time we visit SPI. If you don’t mind roaches and good beach access go for it.

I’d say my stay is average or slightly below average. Definitely did not feel it was worth the rate I paid. There was nothing special about this place. It was constantly a little moist, but that could be because of the island air. It was quite outdated, and even the staff themselves told me the technology doesn’t work. Says on here that breakfast is made to order, but in reality it’s just regular hotel continental breakfast; and that was a selling point for me! Twice I had to get new keys, and when I received the new ones, they didn’t even work! The WiFi only worked outside of our room somehow, and it was probably the worst WiFi I had ever used. The TV in the room couldn’t even go 5 seconds without buffering. The room itself wasn’t the cleanest, the bathtub didn’t drain properly, the bed had the smallest pillows you could imagine, and one of the blankets had a hole ripped in it. All in all it was sadly a disappointing stay, and I won’t stay here again.

Could use updates and better room, service and cleaning! The TV is definitely need to be updated. It’s ridiculous that you can’t bring your own individual items to plug into the HDMI inputs. There is a pretty challenging experience. Not to mention the humidity and dirty towels and rags!!!

We loved the beach walkway and the overall location. The hotel has been having internet problems for awhile so my husband was unable to work. The rooms and hallways are very dated. The carpet does not feel like you should walk on it!

The front desk staff were very nice, and the hotel has a private walkway to the beach from the back parking lot. I wanted to like it but I didn't. The room was dated and dark for me. I brought my kids here many years ago and it was fine..now later in life not so much.

This was our third stay here. First two were great. We checked into our room. First thing we noticed was the mildew smell as we walked in. My teen walked into the bathroom and noticed the toilet was leaking after being flushed. We notified the front desk and she was a bit rude about the situation. She moved us into a different room. The new room looked to be touched up. Not thoroughly clean. The sheets had spots, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, the sofa had stains, and there were food items left in the cabinets from the previous guest. Also the doors leading to the outside of the hotel were never locked. Anyone from the street could just walk on in. We use to love coming to this property but this was a deal breaker.

The minute I walked the person in the front took like 30 minutes to approach me I had called if I could do an earlier check in maybe like (15 or 20 minutes) told me no because they were bearly doing the cleaning on my room which is understandable. Then the pool hottub never worked told me it was gonna get fixed and nothing. Then the door to my room wasn't closing all the way which made me not feel safe at all. The AC in the room wasn't cooling felt like the heater was on the whole time. Also the room had a super bad smell tried going to the front again to complain and again no one was there to help out. In the morning around 10:15 had hard banging on my door that it was checkout time which checkout was at 11:00! Experience was horrible will really like to reach out to corporate about the problem not only I had problems but another guest had a complain about the balcony fence being broken and they didn't get helped at all.

We ended up losing $653.00! A storm was announced to SPI area exactly on the day of our reservation. I tried to get our reservation rescheduled for safety reasons. I could not expose my family to danger if the storm were to really hit SPI. Nor Expedia or the hotel were able to help and we ended up losing our money be it was paid during the reservation. Mind you we had nsurance. It was a nightmare trying to get someone to understand and care enough to, at least, show some empathy . No one was found…and to top it off…they hang up on me to end the conversation. Worst experience at all!! Never again will I try to stay at this hotel. My family deserves better than this! Thank you Comfort Suits at SPI for the unforgettable experience. I was happy to come back and do business with you based on my first experience which was overall ok as I did not need to make any changes on that one but to say on this one it was about my family’s safety due to a nature fact. Definitely not coming back to Comfort Suits at SPI in Texas!!

Staff was nice and courteous. My biggest issues was the price for the room and the key yo the room kept getting deprogrammed. I had to do down starts several times because the keys did not work at least 7 times .

Vincent was great!! Our initial check in person could use some customer service training, accommodations are run down, our initial room smelled of mold, we tried to let front desk know, it fell on deaf ears. The next day Vincent fixed us right up. He deserves a raise!

Overall it a bit dated, pool area really needs some updating, lots of broken pool chairs, carpeting could be changed feels a bit soggy but its the beach, its humid, very clean tho. Breakfast was awesome, staff is really good. Nice, helpful, beds were really comfy. Couches need to be replaced, looking a little worn
