It’s a pretty resort with beautiful views and a nice pool, although there is no hot tub. We probably wouldn’t stay again because there is no continental breakfast, not even coffee. Not only was it expensive to eat at the on site restaurant, there is absolutely no fridge space in the room, you can barely keep 4 drinks cold, so saving leftovers is not an option.

Had a 4 night stay and we had a good time. Resort was nice, but hasn’t aged very well. I liked the pool area and the drinks were delicious. I would stay again, but hope they do some professional updates soon. I will let you all know you have to pay to rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach and that was about $40 a day.

Nice property but poolside music was loud and all day until I0pm at least. Sitting on balcony was not enjoyable as we were unable to enjoy ocean sound. There’s netting tie wrapped to the iron rails on the balcony so sitting in the chairs skewed the view that you pay extra for. Staff was friendly and the grounds were kept up nicely. Refrigerator went out and the ac went out but was repaired/replaced quickly. Parking should be included with the room.

We had a great stay- Thursday thru Sunday. Partial ocean view, high level room view with pool view as well as a perfect view of Space-X. Live Music in the evening, DJ by the pool. The restaurant was good but they messed up our food every time we placed an order. The mattress was hard as a rock. Everything is quite pricey at the hotel for what is offered. I also had a spa service. A pedicure was nice but the spa wasn’t a luxurious experience. You have to pay to park- daily. Would be nice for the cost of the room self-parking be included. However, we would stay again in a heartbeat!!

Staff from the valet to the reception area were courteous and helpful. Our room was very clean. Though you can tell it’s been refurbished, overall the work is good and the furnishings, linens, etc were clean and crisp. The pool area was nice and well taken care of. The beach access is great - the views from the higher levels are spectacular! We will return!!!

Property was nice, I found molding food on the bed frame, as the pool got busier for the holiday it also got dirtier. The location of the property is solid, pictures of the property are deceiving. Overall it was an okay stay.

No Ac for 3 days in the main bedroom, They never fixed it. Door wouldnt lock. Noisy from construction, rude staff, horrible service, a manager was to call me at 9 am today and no one called. not clean, smells and the pool was dirty and people brought their own music and throwing balls in the pool.

Not worth the price and do not recommend! As soon as you walk into the hotel it has a foul smell. Self park is $15 per day even though it’s a far walk from the parking garage. Especially when hauling luggage. Along with the resort fee, you will be charged an additional $50 deposit. Our restroom smelled horrible and there were permanent brown stains. Even the pool restrooms smelled horrible so it must be a drainage problem. The hand wash container was empty and had not been refilled. You are not allowed to change the thermostat below 69 or higher than 72 or you will be charged! The pool was not as nice as shown in the pictures. The hotel is not that old yet it looks like it already needs updates.

We had high expectations for Margaritaville South Padre Island after seeing it listed as one of the best hotels in the area, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Our initial room, suite 1105, was unacceptable. The carpets leading to the room were filthy, and inside we were met with a musty odor and unclean floors. We discovered small ants on the floor, which quickly turned into a full infestation. By evening, there were ants in our bed, and we also had to kill a roach in the bathroom. The situation reached a breaking point when we had to wake up our three kids, including our 6-year-old, at 10:30 PM to move rooms. Maintenance confirmed the infestation, sprayed chemicals, and strongly advised us to relocate. To make matters worse, there was mold in the shower, further adding to the lack of cleanliness. We were moved to room 1205, which was a step up—cleaner, fresher smelling, and without ants—but we still found mold in the main shower. Abby at the front desk was kind and took detailed notes about our concerns, which maintenance confirmed. However, despite the seriousness of these issues, we have yet to be contacted by a manager. When we checked out on Sunday, 1/26, no supervisors were on the property, leaving us feeling like our concerns were not taken seriously. This was far from the relaxing family getaway we had hoped for. Between the pest problems, mold, and lack of management I wouldn’t recommend. Also there was no willingness for any comp.

You can hear the people in the room around you and in the hallways. The air conditioning unit is super loud. I was woken up by the people next to me talking super loud at 2:30 AM so I got a terrible nights sleep.

The custodial staff were the kindest staff and making sure we were well taken care of. The air-conditioner made a hissing continuous hissing noise making it difficult to sleep. All our items felt damp with all the condensation and that is keeping it at 70*.

We liked the lively atmosphere, and they have nicely updated the rooms from when it used to be the Pearl. The bars and restaurants on property were convenient and about average. We liked the convenience of towels next to the pool area. One suggestion though…They really need to install dehumidifiers in their rooms! My hair wouldn’t dry naturally and all the wet towels and bathing suits never dried. The bed felt damp. They make you sign an agreement to keep the temperatures in a certain range so I wasn’t able to sufficiently heat or cool the room to combat the humidity. Overall though I’d stay again. Next time I’m going to purchase and bring a dehumidifier with me.

Property was clean, but very damp, moldy and musty. Left feeling very stuffy...could benefit from dehumidifiers on each floor maybe? It was very family oriented, where everyone could enjoy. Also, property should consider getting microwaves in rooms...or a community one at the breakfast buffet area.

The hotel was overall very nice. The room had nice decor the air conditioning units need updating they couldn't keep up with the temps and we were told to keep the room at a certain temperature. Our ceiling had unrepaired water damage on the ceiling.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is right on the beach with easy access to the beach. The property is showing its wear and is probably due for a makeover. A lot of stains on the hallway carpet and the rugs in the elevator lobby’s.It probably has a lot to do with all the Margaritas they serve. We started off in a small room with 2 queen beds and a partial ocean view. It was ok but showing its wear. Also the only chair in the room was right on top of the AC unit and it was constantly blowing on the side of your head. We upgraded for our last two nights to a 2 bedroom suite on the waterfront. The room was really nice and clean with everything you needed in it. Also great views of the coastline and beaches. One issue I had, but not major, was that they put this plastic mesh on the balcony railing (I think because they allow dogs) and when you sit in the chairs on the balcony it obscures your view. I would definitely stay there again.

Definitely a place you have to stay at least once to say you did! However, don’t expect decent service anywhere throughout the hotel. The front desk staff is snarky and not willing to help you out with anything and service is so slow in the restaurant (we waited over 45 minutes every time we went and it wasn’t busy). Drinks were alright at the pool, but there were continuous amounts of children at the swim up bar. Housekeeping will only service your tool every third day and won’t do it unless it’s that third day. Beautiful location, wish the staff was better

I would have given this resort a 5 star rating if it weren’t for check in. I think they were short staffed and although check in is at 4 pm, we didn’t get to check in until 5 pm. This might not be a problem for most travelers but I was traveling with my 5 month old and 23 month old babies. I was counting on the 4 pm check in for feeding, nap and diaper schedules. They eventually got us into a room (nicer than the one we booked no extra charge) but the hour it took them to figure it out led to a full blown melt down in the lobby with both babies screaming in distress and it took a considerable amount of time to calm them. Not a great way to start the vacation but the rest of the stay was wonderful and most of the staff was helpful and friendly. Food at the landshark restaurant was great and the food and drinks were reasonably priced. The room and the facilities were clean and well maintained other than the bathroom which had a sewer gas smell. The bed was a bit firm and squeaked a bit. The free WiFi worked well. Parking was included with our stay. We didn’t leave the resort during our stay so I’m not sure what transportation options were available.

Stay here!! Right on the beach, easy access through the water park and had showers at the entry. So much fun. The beach was SO clean & the service was incredible and so was the resort. We took 4 little ones 5 & under.

The beach at South Padre Island was amazing and maybe it was because it was end of August, we felt like we had the whole hotel and beach to ourselves. Food at the landshark restaurant was great. The coffee shop was great. The drinks from the bar were a bit watered down but that's typical of chain hotels. The hotel is fairly isolated from the rest of the strip so it's quiet but it requires driving or Uber to the nearby restaurants. All in all our stay was great and we would definitely come back.

We arrived on a Monday and loved the weekday chill of the place before the weekend brought more guests. The room was comfortable, affordable, and the view from the balcony was great! Staff was always friendly and helpful. A very pleasant stay!

I ordered the fish and chips at their restaurant. Turns out the fish was from the frozen food section of Wal Mart. And the server straight up didn’t deny it. He’s said yes it was. $28.00 for 3 pieces of Wal Mart frozen fish. They also had live music so when they started playing baby shark at the bar, I said that’s enough I’m done here

Love the fun vibes especially with the DJ on Saturday. Overall, the hotel was clean and the AC in the rooms were awesome. Drinks were delicious but don’t drink the water. The tap water smelled and tasted horrible! Bring your own water to drink.

The Landshark had terrible service and I got food poisoning from their fish. Staff was not helpful and did not answer or maintenance calls. Had to ask for towels and TP 3 or ,4 times before we finally got them

The king deluxe room was well appointed, the king bed was clean and comfortable. The property was in a good location and the amenities like the pool were very enjoyable! Only issue is the attached restaurant; the land shark bar and grill. The food wasn’t any good and at $24 an entree-very disappointing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Margaritaville! The room was nice, comfortable, clean and had a nice view of the beach! Spent so much time at the pool, which was heated. The food and srinks at Landshark were really good. Only downside was not having a microwave in the room. Would definitely stay here again.
