Already recommending this hotel to friends. They had a huge eating area in the lobby. Coffee and tea always available. Popcorn in the lobby during the afternoons. Great, hot breakfast in the mornings. Small outdoor pool was fine when the weather cooperated. Gym had a few treadmills/ barbells... nice and cool. Extremely convenient location for visiting Liberty University. Tons of food and shopping just outside your door. Appreciated the room layout with the sink outside the bathroom. Beds were very comfortable. We stayed 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Staff was very nice and professional. With that being said; the pool was not swimmable, my granddaughters were very disappointed, the room had a strong musty/moldy smell and there were stains in the bathtub.

Check-in was quick and easy. The lobby was clean and spacious. Our room was mediocre. The carpet was clearly not vacuumed, as there were bits of trash left and hair on the shower wall. The pool was cloudy both days that we were there and i wouldn't let my kids swim in it. Breakfast was good & the area was kept very clean and fully stocked. There is a definite "Liberty vibe" here. At check-in, my son was asked if he was here for a school tour & was met with a bit of an attitude when he said he wasnt. There is constant Christian music playing in the lobby.

Dirty elevators, floors and walls disgusting. We had to switch 2 rooms because of the mildew smell in one and the musty smell of a dirty person in another. The floors in the bathroom still had prior guests hair, and what looked like boogers on the wall by the toilet. Was not a good experience. We booked through a third party and confirmation said we could cancel and/or change up until 24 hrs before checkin. We tried to change the dates by one day earlier check out. The hotel refused and we still checked out a day earlier.

We walked into our room that looked like it had just been used, minus the made beds. There were two dead crickets in the sink, someone’s hair still left in the shower and the floor still had stains and sticky residue. The walls were beyond disgusting along with the floorboards in the bathroom. You could feel the metal springs (or whatever it was) in the bed which made the sleep very uncomfortable. I went to Target and got cleaning supplies and cleaned the room myself since all other hotels were booked- trust me at 11pm I tried looking for another place to stay! The hallways were disgusting and dirty, including the piece of trash that was left in the hallway and still there after our fourth day before checking out. Virginia was a beautiful trip but unfortunately our hotel stay was not.

The first room I was given had not been cleaned. The beds were unmade, trash was on the ground, and towels were on the floor. When I was moved to a room that had supposedly been cleaned, I found 5 fingernails on the floor, two used q-tips, smudges all over the walls and doors, and carpet coming up at the seams. I do not recommend staying there.

The room was very dirty- there was blood on the sheets, mold on the pillow cases, hair in the shower and on the floor in the bathroom. Disgusting. I took the sheet and the moldy pillow up to the front desk and they didn’t offer to do anything other than give me a new set of sheets. A refund would have been nice.

The room was very dirty- floors had not been vacuumed, garbage and debris were under tables in our room, no mattress pads on beds, old mattress, they didn’t have enough bed comforters for the hotel, so we slept thr first night with just sheets, the hotel was very understaffed, the hallway smelled badly of Marijuana, we ended up cleaning our own room with our own clorox wipes.

The staff was great! However, I ended up being in a room infested with disgusting bed bug. I could not figure out why I was itching from day one. until I noticed a few bugs. one of which I caught and delivered to hotel front desk. Although the staff was mostly friendly, there was a level of unprofessionalism in dress and demeanor. Breakfast bar was average for a "hot breakfast". Bed was old and so a little uncomfortable, water pressure was poor. I felt safe and even though it was a full house, noise was never a factor as the room did seem to be well insulated. I did have a ground floor suite and would often get smoke smell coming from the outside. I was super grateful to get a room at the price point that seemed a little more typical for the area, as it was Welcome Week for Liberty and possibly other schools.

It can be a nice hotel, and we'd probably would return but there were some issues that need addressed first! Number 1, there was ants in the room and another couple that we know said they had seen the ants. Number 2, our door dead bolt lock could not be engaged unless you pick up on the heavy door and to get it unlocked you have to lift up even harder to get it to slid out! A serious safety issue, my wife wouldn't be able to open the door by herself. When we first got there our door wouldn't open, every door that I've seen you turn the handle down to open the door! I went to the front desk and the girl said it's backwards, you have to lift up!! One other strange thing.... the bathroom sink and mirror was in the hallway right next to the main entry door! Huh? The sink part I'm sure they can't change but the rest they can fix, and it would be a nice place to stay. The breakfast was good and the rooms was nice.

Our stay was fine. I didn’t love the tiny bathroom with toilet and shower squished in a small room and the sink in the main room. The carpet felt sticky. We were there on a very busy weekend and they kept running out of things for breakfast including coffee and cups. Overall it was fine but I would probably look to stay somewhere else in the future.

During our stay they were having issues with the key card device. The staff had to walk every customer to their rooms. Despite the challenge the staff remained cordial and helpful. Even at check out they found a mistake with my billing and corrected on the spot. Bottom line, phenomenal customer service! Well done.

Do not reserve a room at this place. Reserved through Expedia. Got there and the reservation had been unilaterally canceled by the hotel. Tried to call the next morning and no one would answer the phone at the front desk. It really doesn't get much worse than that.

Staff was great, however this is the second time that I have paid for my stay, days in advance on Expedia and was also charged by La Quinta on site. Now I have additional charges on my card and have to wait several business days to “check” if the funds were reimbursed to my account. Why does this continue to occur??? Just unnecessary red tape!!!!

Terrible front desk customer service from the beginning with check in. I had been trying to cancel the last night of our stay for 4 days (within the cancellation timeframe) and they would not answer phone calls from me or Expedia. Expedia finally did get a hold of them and they refused to cancel the night. Front desk staff was very rude, said that they always answered the phone when I said my calls had gone unanswered. That they would not cancel the night and I needed to contact Expedia and kept repeating this even though I said I had contacted them. Never an apology for the inconvenience or any offer or attempt to help. Very frustrating and disappointing.

I had been trying to cancel the last night of our stay for 4 days (within the cancellation timeframe) and they would not answer phone calls from me or Expedia. Expedia finally did get a hold of them and they refused to cancel the night. Front desk staff was very rude, said that they always answered the phone when I said my calls had gone unanswered. That they would not cancel the night and I needed to contact Expedia and kept repeating this even though I said I had contacted them. Never an apology for the inconvenience or any offer or attempt to help. Very frustrating and disappointing.

When I arrived and finally got checked in, the room that they gave me upon entering the room had the belongings of someone else in the room. Thankfully no one was in the room at the time but it definitely wasn’t good having access to that room. It could have been a lot worse if they were getting dressed or naked or maybe even asleep. I went back to the front desk and they seemed more agitated than remorseful. I was pretty upset and the front desk person didn’t seem to really care of the magnitude of the issue. They eventually gave me another room key but that was about it.

We checked into the hotel and then left to get some food. When we came back, they had assigned our room we had checked into to another family who were in our room with our belongings when we got there. We all went back down and they assured us we had the room. We were there for three days and they never cleaned our room. We had to ask and they said they would but never did. We also got another room for my niece and when they checked into their room, it was dirty, had trash cans full of garbage and the ended up getting another room. Really disappointed I paid over $300 a night for these rooms and it was absolutely ridiculous. Terrible service. Will not stay there again.

I went to check into my hotel room Friday night around 2 am with my room prebooked, nobody was there to check me in. I stayed in the lobby until 4am before i had to resort to sleeping in my car in 25 degree weather. I went back in at 5:30am and still nobody in the lobby to check me in, finally when i went back in at 7:30 someone was there who stated they didn’t have a room for me and didn’t really seem to care that i had to sleep in my car. So i had to resort to showering at a local gym, purchase towels, wash clothes and hygiene products. During that day i got an email my trip had been cancelled and i no longer had a room for the remaining 2 nights of my stay. When i called they said i did still have a room and could check in whenever i was ready. Upon check in i informed the manager of my position the night prior who also don’t seem to care and gave us a room with dirty sheets and no heat. We got new sheets to the room but heat was never resolved. To say this is the worst expirence i have ever had in a hotel that would be an understatement. Also no refund has been given for my troubles.

Your employee went out of her way to help make our stay comfortable. There was no chocolate chips for waffles and my ask the young lady doing the breakfast did they have any chocolate chips. She said no unfortunately they didn't but she went out of her way to make a chocolate mixture so that he could have a chocolate waffle. The hotel was nice, and our suite was large and unique with two full bathrooms, which I have never had before in a hotel. The Hot Breakfast was really nice and started the day off great. And the location near Liberty University and Thomas Road Baptist Church was Perfect. I will stay here again.

Already recommending this hotel to friends. They had a huge eating area in the lobby. Coffee and tea always available. Popcorn in the lobby during the afternoons. Great, hot breakfast in the mornings. Small outdoor pool was fine when the weather cooperated. Gym had a few treadmills/ barbells... nice and cool. Extremely convenient location for visiting Liberty University. Tons of food and shopping just outside your door. Appreciated the room layout with the sink outside the bathroom. Beds were very comfortable. We stayed 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

The stay was short so ok, the biggest disappointment was breakfast that we were banking on. Sausage was cold, biscuits were hard and waffles didn't set. We had to stop for breakfast elsewhere quickly on our way to our event so it was a big inconvenience and probably waste of money too. Won't stay there again.

The breakfast staff was incredible! This was our 2nd stay and that made the stay end well. The side chair in our room was so dirty and stained we were afraid to sit in it. The bathroom was “OK”. The beds were comfortable. The Hoyle is convenient and in a safe area. We will use again.

The location was convenient, however the front desk staff was not very welcoming and I had to come down to the front desk twice to address issues after driving over 4 hrs to get there. (1. No soap in the room, floors and bathroom was dirty and 2. didn't use cc provided at check in, used card on file without asking). The rooms were ok but the bathroom and the walls were dirty and the carpet smelled like it needed to be cleaned. Also, breakfast was horrible. Overall the stay served it's purpose for one night but I won't be staying there again.

Had a great experience. Check in was easy, i did it online. Room was clean and spacious. Housekeeping made sure we had what we needed. Breakfast was great, pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, baked goods. Amazing experience.

Everything at this hotel was amazing, especially for such a short stay. We were only there a night but it felt like a weekend vacation. Joanne who did the food service was wonderful a beautiful sprit to meet early in the morning and so helpful.

Our stay was fine. I didn’t love the tiny bathroom with toilet and shower squished in a small room and the sink in the main room. The carpet felt sticky. We were there on a very busy weekend and they kept running out of things for breakfast including coffee and cups. Overall it was fine but I would probably look to stay somewhere else in the future.

I’ve stayed here several times.. the check in process was a little frustrating. I stood there waiting for someone close to 7min and when she finally appeared there was no apology for wait etc. The breakfast lady was so sweet and kind!! The rooms are spacious and clean. Second go around and they have not disappointed me not once. Convenience to Liberty University and so many different stores literally across from there. Room was clean with all necessities and my favorite part was their breakfasts, no need to go to a restaurant for your first morning wake up. Every item you like you will find there . Family friendly and my grandkids really enjoyed the pool for the first time . My husband was able to work out in the gym , everything you need is there.
