It was a great experience. Super friendly and helpful staff. Good location, close to several restaurants. Could walk to the Little Caesar’s for a cheap meal. Great breakfast buffet (get there early). Overall great stay. Be aware that there is no pool (bummer). Also be aware that the hotel jacked rates up significantly for the Liberty University graduation. $300 a night was excessive but it was the only room available for 60+ miles away. Definitely was not worth $300 a night. I’m sure for a normal priced stay, it would have been given a 5* rating

We came because it got the same ratings as the Marriott, but for much less. Everything was clean, and fairly new, and the room was well designed, but we immediately learned why it was less. No pool, no jacuzzi, no freezer in the fridge; small TV, small ironing board, Breakfast started nice and early, but we could never eat anything offered because it was so unhealthy. It was all about carbs and sugar. WiFi was spotty, kept disconnecting, and the bandwidth was not more than 7mbps. Linens were markedly cheap — not worn out, but thin to start with. Towels were all scratchy,, sheets were shear and lightweight, pillows flattened, and no comforter. We had to use a spare blanket. Lots of the outlets, but most were worn out already, so it was hard to power or charge things.

The stay was very pleasant. Room was, overall, very clean...however the fabric on the sleeper sofa should be cleaned more often ss there were stains visible. The "gym" had no weights or machines, just a non-adjustable flat bench...tbis should be addressed IMMEDIATELY!

I've stayed in other Microtel properties but this one didn't quite match up. Of the 3 pieces of equipment in the fitness center (elliptical, treadmill, and bike), only the bike was working. The 24-hour coffee station in the lobby was poorly maintained. Two of the electrical outlets in my room did not work. The water pressure from the shower was weak. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. The staff was friendly and professional. I would stay there again because the staff and the location were excellent.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just OK, mainly a lot of carbohydrates; no eggs or yogurt. The fitness center is nothing more than a bike, a treadmill and an elliptical machine. Neither the treadmill nor the elliptical were functioning. It would be nice to have some weights.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable. We were really disappointed by the fitness center. There were just 4 machines - two stationary bikes, a treadmill, and an elliptical. Both the treadmill and elliptical were broken and did not work at all. Also, the breakfast was pretty bare bones - some cereal, a waffle maker, oatmeal, breakfast bars, and apples. Plus coffee, tea, juice, and milk. The staff was very friendly.

On the evening of our stay I discovered mold growing on the bathroom ceiling. I noticed this around 10:30pm. Since we were told at checkin the hotel was completely sold out and my children were already asleep I figured there wasn't much that could be done. I did text the staff at the front desk about it. I didn’t hear anything so I went to bed. In the morning I spoke to the font desk. I was told the mold was likely due to a recent water leak. I requested a full refund for our stay. I was told that since I had booked through Hotels.com that I would need to go through them. I reached out through Hotels.com and was only issued a partial refund. It is clear this property does not properly clean it's rooms or value it's guests. Mold is a health hazzard and a full refund was warranted.

The rooms are very generous in size with the extra sofa provided. Modern and Good design with extra space for putting multiple luggages up off the floor. Hotel located in a cluster of other chain hotels, but convenient to get onto main roads.

Problems checking in was told I could not check in until 3pm, when we were able to check in the woman started checking in other people instead of checking in the people that had been waiting. The woman checking us in told me that the hotel charged 50.00 dollars a night per pet that would mean I paid more for my pets than I did for me, also the woman asked for a credit card for incidentals, I handed her a Discover card and she did not know what a Discover card was. Asked if she was new and she said no. Red flags.

Friendly staff. However, they seemed to be short staff. Breakfast dishes were empty way before breakfast time was over. Elevator broke down one night and me and my elderly parents had to walk four floors.

This hotel was excellent for the price. The room was clean and well designed- small but good use of space (2 Queen beds). The location is very convenient to shopping, restaurants and colleges in the area. There is a breakfast area- simple but good with the stoical choices of scrambled eggs, waffles, biscuits, and gravy etc. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a wonderful stay on our trip through Virginia. Addy, who prepared our breakfast, did an excellent job! The food was great, she checked with us to see if we needed anything else, spent a few minutes chatting with us before we left. Also, the gentleman working at the check/in desk(I can’t recall his name), helped troubleshoot issues we had with the tv on check-in. We have never stayed at a Microtel, but will certainly try to stay at one if needed!

The room was pleasant, but it took hours to get the thermostat to let the room warm up to 72 deg. Don't believe anything on the web site about a hot breakfast. The site offers waffles, cereal, toasted bagels and apples.
