What a beautiful place! Gorgeous room, stunning views, extraordinarily good restaurant and brilliant service, all on a lovely beach with great swimming. The service was impeccable, the pool absolutely lovely. This is a mountainside property, so everything is up and down flights of stairs, so that's worth mentioning. But all in all, everything we could have wanted.

The staff are amazing and polite, always aiming to please. The beach is also stunning and being able to go downstairs and enjoy it from your hotel is a plus. The AC works wonderfully to the point we actually have to turn it off. Amazing hotel, will definitely come back.

Beautiful property, our room had a terrace overlooking the bay and the sky was beautiful at sunset. The slide into the pool is a fun extra, and the pool is very clean, relaxing and pretty. The path along the coast to town is lovely and I felt safe. The staff are so friendly and kind. The restaurant is wonderful too!

Beautiful hotel! Great location - minutes away from el centro and immediate beach access to Playa Madera. The pool area has been remodeled making it a great space to lounge around, and they have a fanstatic restaurant onsite with views of Zihua. Lastly, the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

This was our second visit to Aura Del Mar; the first visit was when it was named Brisas Del Mar in 2010. This property has kept all the charm that we feel in love with back in 2010 and has made some incredible additions since. The pool deck over looking the ocean was peaceful and gave you a beautiful 360• view. The landscaping is gorgeous and tended to. The onsite spa has been updated and is lovely. Coffee machines in every room with fresh ground coffee provided. Turn down service at night. Cold A/C Friendly staff Abel is on the top deck serving happy hour and a gorgeous view of the sunset. The beach / pool towels they provide are adorable. This hotel is a gem.

Our 3rd time staying at Aura Del Mar and we’ll be back! The price is VERY reasonable for how charming it is. Great location, well cared for, attentive service and a great little restaurant too. Lots of repeat visitors. There are a lot of stairs but the views are worth it. One of the only properties in the area with beachfront. Very clean. The grounds are lush with tropical plants. Pool area spotless and private feeling. Easy to fall in love with the hotel and Zihua in general!

This is our third stay over about twenty years at Aura del Mar. This place is heaven. The staff is excellent; the grounds are stunning. If you love Mexican art/architecture/colors, this place is for you. The rooms all face the sea and the views are magical. The staff hooks you up with reservations at the good restaurants, and there’s a taxi stand at the bottom of the hill so taxies are there within 2-3 minutes, ready to whisk you around the bay. The beach is calm and the sand is lovely. We usually go to Sayulita, which we’ve loved for many years, but now stay away during Christmas and Spring break because it’s packed. Zihuatenejo beach is super uncrowded, even on Spring break week. Give this place a try—if you like old school Mexican charm, you won’t be disappointed.

This was my ninth time visiting Mexico, and my favorite hotel by far! I loved that the hotel is very authentic, as far as its materials-wood, stones, tiles, and stucco-beautiful carved wooden doors. They scattered hibiscus flowers on my bed and left three bottles of water, which I refilled at a water bottle close by (bonus points). My room, while technically on the first floor, was elevated and had a large balcony and an excellent view of the beach. I loved that I could walk down to the pool, the beach, and the fantastic restaurant very easily. Alberto, who checked me in, immediately offered to carry my suitcase to my room, and made sure I knew how to operate the AC before he left. The staff at their restaurant, Bistro Del Mar could not have been more excellent and welcoming. I was traveling alone, and in Mexico, at resorts and hotels, that can sometimes result in awkward or inattentive service, but this was not the case. Cesar was always genuine in his pleasure at making me my nightly margaritas (delicious and not too sweet), and my frequent server, Tomas, was always attentive but non intrusive. Every meal I had was top notch, and right on the ocean! I highly recommend Aura Del Mar and can’t wait to return.

This is a beautiful property with all the greenery and flowers and great views. We enjoyed the Macaws, turtles, and even a huge iguana. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! We couldn't have asked for a better location as you can walk to everything. I booked rather late so most of the rooms were sold out, so we got a bottom room in the corner. Next time, I will book earlier and get a room a couple of floors up.

The property is unique in that there are several different levels and different room types. The decor is very interesting with lots of plants and statues and two talkative parrots. We were in a top floor room with two beds and a fabulous view. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony every morning. The location to walk along the malecon to town was convenient and offered us the opportunity to walk to several different restaurants. The only downside is the number of stairs to reach the pool and the beach. We would stay again however it was probably a one time stay as it is a bit out of our comfort zone due to cost.

You will not find a friendlier or more welcoming staff. Such a beautiful, boutique hotel with clean rooms and facilities. We got upgraded to the Noyolytzi Suite from the Master Suite which was incredible. So clean, with two bedrooms and a big outdoor area in between, complete with a full kitchen and appliances, including a blender. We hadn't planned a single excursion (trying to keep things easy and stress free) but there's a very friendly man on site much of the time, Carlos, who helps you book whatever you want, from snorkeling to turtle release to sunset cruise and many other things. He seems to know all the best tour guides and sets everything up for you, often next day or even same day if it's early enough. One thing they don't advertise that we were so grateful for is that they will do laundry for you for a small charge. Our laundry bill for about 15 or so items was around $17 USD. The stairs are a thing and can be a lot, as noted in other reviews. But if you call ahead or email ahead and ask, they can advise you on which room to book with fewer stairs to the beach if you want. We were grateful for the extra calorie burn after dining on all that delicious food! And there are always staff around to greet you as you climb the stairs, and a very friendly McCaw!

We arrived early and I have to say they were amazing, they let us have an early check in , which was great ! The hotel is very cute but many many stairs .. rooms are cozy but, do need some upgrades as well as the bathroom ( shower head and mirror ). Staff was great for the exception of Salvador at the pool, it’s like he is being forced to work there ., honestly very rude. Glendy was amazing ! overall a good quiet stay .,

Amazing staff, we love the traditional decor, great location, and all our needs were tended to. From the time of making my reservation through my departure everything was just perfect. Every staff member did go out of their way to make sure we were properly assisted. My family and I absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to be back. Mr. Vargas who I believe is the General Manager took the time to call me and assured I was getting a specific request as I was there for my sister who is dealing with a condition. He could have not done better than what he did! So Grateful and beyond satisfied 🙏🙏🙏 Will recommend and will be back

We've stayed at Aura del Mar twice now. We love staying there as the location is great, it is right on the beach, close to Centro and the view from the room is gorgeous. The staff is super nice and helpful. There are a few things they could improve. the shower had no water pressure for the last 3 days. It was so bad, it took me forever to wash my hair. It was the worst I've experienced in a hotel. We had some sort of glass fallen from the top floor and shuttered on our patio. The restaurant is good but very expensive. If the price is right, go for it!

My 9 year old son and I stayed at Aura del Mar for Spring Break 2024. While the hotel is not kid focused or running over with screaming kids, it is kid friendly. The pool area is lovely, with plenty of different lounging areas in the shade. It's a bonus that the excellent and reasonably priced Bistro Del Mar is on the beach level, as they were consistently delivering food and drinks up to guests at the pool. I considered it to be in the ideal location in Zihuatanejo, as it's a 10 minute walk north to the city center. Along the way, there are several highly regarded restaurants. Plus, Maderas right next door on the beach is also a great spot. Additionally, there are some true gem restaurants and coffee shops within several blocks of the hotel itself. In the other direction is Playa Ropa, which is a 15-20 minute walk, first uphill and then down. The cabs were 450 MXN (about $28) each way, about a 15-20 minute drive. As others have said, it's nice that there's a small convenience store across the street for room necessities. The hotel provides plenty of bottled and filtered water at no cost. We didn't have any luck being able to book any excursions ahead of time, but the concierge Carlos was able to get us set up with fishing, zip lining and the sea turtle experience. The rooms overall had everything needed - a working air conditioner, Wifi, and cable TV. We enjoyed playing cards on our balcony before heading out to dinner.

This was my 3rd visit to the property and first since Covid, and the property still holds the same charm and hospitality since my first visit in 2014. The rooms have a lot of space and incredible views from most of them. Staff are so hospitable and the restaurant is great for breakfast, and lunch/drinks by the pool or on the beach. And of course the beautiful landscaping and the Parrots just complete the Old Mexico feel. Can't wait to return again and again!

We've stayed at Aura del Mar twice now. We love staying there as the location is great, it is right on the beach, close to Centro and the view from the room is gorgeous. The staff is super nice and helpful. There are a few things they could improve. the shower had no water pressure for the last 3 days. It was so bad, it took me forever to wash my hair. We had a very good experience at this hotel! We stayed three nights, we liked this hotel very much! This old style hotel has beautiful views and clean rooms also on the beach! Es un lugar muy bonito, muy limpio, los detalles hacen la diferencia, sus amenidades son de muy buena calidad, todo el personal del hotel es muy amable y agradable, atentos y con mucha disposición, felicidades a todo el personal por su excelente labor, es muy cómodo y agradable, con unas vistas muy bonitas, lo único que no recomendaría es el restaurante, la comida no es tan buena, y el personal del restaurante es muy desinteresado, pero hay buenos lugares para comer cerca

Beautiful hotel! Great location - minutes away from el centro and immediate beach access to Playa Madera. The pool area has been remodeled making it a great space to lounge around, and they have a fanstatic restaurant onsite with views of Zihua. Lastly, the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

My 9 year old son and I stayed at Aura del Mar for Spring Break 2024. While the hotel is not kid focused or running over with screaming kids, it is kid friendly. The pool area is lovely, with plenty of different lounging areas in the shade. It's a bonus that the excellent and reasonably priced Bistro Del Mar is on the beach level, as they were consistently delivering food and drinks up to guests at the pool. I considered it to be in the ideal location in Zihuatanejo, as it's a 10 minute walk north to the city center. Along the way, there are several highly regarded restaurants. Plus, Maderas right next door on the beach is also a great spot. Additionally, there are some true gem restaurants and coffee shops within several blocks of the hotel itself. In the other direction is Playa Ropa, which is a 15-20 minute walk, first uphill and then down. The cabs were 450 MXN (about $28) each way, about a 15-20 minute drive. As others have said, it's nice that there's a small convenience store across the street for room necessities. The hotel provides plenty of bottled and filtered water at no cost. We didn't have any luck being able to book any excursions ahead of time, but the concierge Carlos was able to get us set up with fishing, zip lining and the sea turtle experience. The rooms overall had everything needed - a working air conditioner, Wifi, and cable TV. We enjoyed playing cards on our balcony before heading out to dinner.

The rooms are spacious. We had a beautiful view. Friendly , helpful staff. The pool area is very nice. Breakfast at the restaurant was great.
