Azul Ixtapa Grand All Inclusive Suites - Spa & Convention Center

overall just what I expected and that was very good! This is the 4th time we spent time at the Azul Grand. We like having the upscale service and dining options that the Grand offers, while still having the access to pool, food, drinks, and beach of the regular Azul next door.

It was a great place to relax and have fun with family. We really enjoyed the food, the pool, the room, and the activities. We went on the free kayak trip to Ixtapa Island for snorkeling and the bike tour. We also enjoyed the water aerobics, the nightly shows, the game area with pool and ping pong, and some of the contests. It is mostly Mexican tourists, which we really liked so that our kids had to practice their Spanish

Really impressive resort. We visited in mid sept which is the slow season and it was great. The resort has a lot for its guests to enjoy. Nice large rooms all with ocean views. There are three pools, two outside bars, inside bar and club. Most the time we had the entire adult pool to ourselves. You have access to the resort next door, it was nice to stop for a drink when walking on the beach. There is a cafeteria style restaurant and the food was really good. They changed it up everyday which was nice. Traditional local dishes, and lots of other options like salad bars, sandwich bars, breakfast bars and pastry bars. Great Cafe onsite with fresh ground drinks. One day they did a seafood "feast", lots of options and they were cooking whole seasoned fish. The resort also has three very nice, reservation only restaurants. The Asian restaurant was great. Fresh seafood and creative dishes to give guests lots of variety. The resort has a list of daily activities for guests to sign-up for. Employees that host the activities work hard to make them fun and enjoyable. We had Natalia on several adventures and she was great, full of energy and very positive. Be sure to sign-up for the bike ride, they take through an Eco park in the jungle on a great flat path. For a change, we walked down the beach and caught the water taxi to Ixtapa Island and had the back side of the island to ourselves all day. Great food and snorkeling while relaxing all day in lounge chairs. Definitely recommend!!

The hotel was very nice, the view is incredible, food was delicious, activities and shows were great, kayaking to the island and sailing are also included, maybe they can add an air hockey table to the family room and a room for teenagers with video games, overall great vacation!

Excellent 4 night stay at Azul Grand. Service in every department was prompt, friendly, and met all our needs. The views and sunsets are amazing. Beautiful pools and spa. Make sure you reserve speciality restaurants early in your stay to take advantage of the choices. Very close to Isla Ixtapa ferry and Playa Linda. Only notes I have is the hotel should consider adding more furniture to the large balconies and reduce the amount of bright (almost blinding) white light in some areas and restaurants. Overall highly recommend this hotel.

This property is beautiful! 3 pools, sparkling clean! Food was the best I've had at an all inclusive resort! The activities were wonderful! Biking, kayaking, snorkeling, full gym with classes. I loved this resort!

Pros: The property is beautiful and very well maintained, rooms were clean and staff was very attentive and kind. The food was very good and so were the drinks, bartenders were amazing and service in the restaurants was excellent. The views on the beach and from the infinity pool are spectacular. Can’t beat the sunsets in Ixtapa. It’s a short walk to the pier where there are shops and water taxis over to Isla Ixtapa. The coffee bar was a nice treat and the lady working there was always so kind. Cons: I will preface this by saying; We went during Holy Week and it was very crowded. You had to get a chair by 7am or there was nowhere to sit. However I feel this would be the situation at any resort during such a busy week. You also had to get in a line by 8am to get a reservation for dinner. All of the hot tubs on the property are adult only and they never opened the swim up bar while we were there - those were two amenities that I specifically looked for when I booked the trip. We went over to the sister resort a few times to use the swim up bar but the chair situation existed there as well. It also is less Americanized than other resorts I’ve been to and this isn’t necessarily a con, my kids got to experience a lot of Spanish and understand what it feels like to actually be in a foreign country. However none of the activities were translated to English which made it hard for them to participate.

Beautiful property and great food. Problems: 1) No shuttle service to other property where the entertainment is at night. 2) Pool is very cold. 3) No entertainment at night so it got pretty boring.

The staff was wonderful. Rooms were very nice. Quite far from anything. Need to take bus or taxi. Beach was not walkable. Very rocky. Two kinds of beer. A light (takate) and a dark beer(not sure name) no smoking anywhere on grounds or beach. Need to walk to street out front of hotel on street. Not much of a nightlife as only one lobby bar after 4pm. Pool bar closes at 6pm. One musical show at night at sister resort at 8:30pm. Dogs are welcome. Always keep your pool towel receipts each day. Tried to charge us 50 Us$'s at checkout. But i had all receipts. Food is very good and specialty restaurants very good. Really liked shrimp kabobs at bbq/steakhouse but they don't tell you they have them. Just ask! Great stay but very very hot and humid and far from everything.

The property is aging but was clean. It was an inconvenience that they did not exchange USD to peso, only CAD. The buffet was standard and nothing special, but the specialty restaurants were excellent. Pools were very nice.

They tried to upgrade my room. I didn’t pay extra. So I was put in a room that smelled like mold.

The room had a very nice layout with a Jacuzzi tub in the center. The beaches were beautiful and clean and the infinity pool was fabulous. Our maid Vero was very pleasant and always made nice towel animals for our daughter. I would recommend this property to anyone and we may stay here again.

We stayed at the Azul Grand Hotel for 5 nights and 6 days Check in was straight forward, they did put us in a double bed instead of 1 king like I selected in Expedia, they informed there was no rooms available had to wait one day for us to switch rooms, they also tried to upsell us on premium wifi and the master suite, but the hotel had wifi ready for every inch of the hotel🤔 Room was clean and great only had one issue with the jacuzzi not working maintenance had to come in and repair the water pump, other then that room was great and the view was incredible, btw almost nothing included in the room just basic shampoo and soap, bring your own tooth paste, tooth brush etc. They did have a store downstairs that sold everything for a good price. Food was amazing, the buffet was tasty and had different options everyday we loved the 3 specialty restaurants food was very good. Drinks were kind of watered down not too sure how much alcohol they put in. Spa was nice and had decent prices, we did a masaje and facial for 160$ for two people. They had a sauna and an ice bath, which was a nice touch. Overall compared to other all inclusive resorts I been in (Cancun,Playa de carmen, Puerto Vallarta) Grand Azul was a good value for what you get everyone was so nice and friendly.

We had a great stay, location was perfect and lot's of sports amenities. Every room has a fabulous ocean view. We will return.

I didn’t like the few choices for dinner at night. The refrigerator was not stocked like advertised. The property was beautiful.

El piso 11 es extremadamente ruidoso, el bufete es muy monótono, demasiados carbohidratos

The rooms had unobstructed ocean view. Very clean and tidy rooms, super friendly staff. One thing we found annoying was that the elevators seem to take a long time to reach our floor. One of the activities at the resort is mountain biking, Vladimir our guide did a great job on the 13’s km ciclopista(bike trail) near the resort through the jungle. Strongly recommend it overall a great experience.

Excellent property! Excellent view and staff was amazing! Shout out to Elena in food & beverage. We reported a miss understanding to her and immediately felt the love and willingness to rectify the situation! Would definitely go back! Also, the Spa was amazing!

Service was poor

As usual there are a number of staff that do not speak English and do not even try. The rest of the staff are 5 star. If there is a billing problem no one knows who is in charge and run for cover. The front office staff cannot come to a solution that is fair to all.

Everyone was great! They were friendly and attentive. The facility was very nice and well kept up. The food was very good at all sources.

El hotel en general muy bien, la comida rica, la atención en general muy buena. Solo no me gustó que llegó 3:10pm y una señorita en el check in me indicó que no podía darme habitación hasta las 5pm, que si requería ya habitación por 8mil extras me daban otra, no accedí y fui a hablar con un muchacho de recepción que se portó excelente y me indicó que no debía ser así y me dio enseguida una habitación. Así mismo el primer día tuve que llamar un par de veces para que llevaran las bebidas del frigobar

I did not like the way my check in precess was handled. My reservation was not in their data base. I had to wait about 30 to 40 minutes before it was resolved. However, a customer assistance which appears to be in charge, her customer skills and support was extremely poor.

It’s our second time booking this hotel and it never disappoints. Cleanliness is superb, staff is friendly and accommodating. Food in the restaurants is the best quality there is. Alex and Francisco were our servers in the Olivo Italian restaurant and they made our stay and dinner absolutely amazing. Overall we had an incredible experience and we will come back anytime with no doubt.

The property and staff are amazing. The buffet food was very good. I've been to other properties in Ixtapa and the food was by far superior compared to the others. The only downside and reason for a 4 star verses a 5 star is that the beach is small. We normally like to do a morning beach walk. This is not possible at this location. They do have a board walk along the ocean which is nice and you can walk the street side as there is a nice wide sidewalk. But beach walking is not possible. If beach walking is not top of your list, then do not hesitate to stay here. You will not regret it. We plan to be back. I just miss my beach walking.

Very nice hotel with good dining options. Note: The offer "free" wifi. But it\'s only free in the common areas. If you want wifi in your room it costs extra (for each device). If you are going for the beach, there are many other better places to go in the area. This hotel doesn\'t have a descent beach. What little beach they have is rocky. Had to trek over to the hotel next door to enjoy a beach. Has a nice view from the room. It has a view of Ixtapa Island and is close to the island, which is an attraction. I have been to about 8-10 other places in Mexico on vacation and I would rate this a 3.8-4.0 star, mainly due to the lack of beach. If it had a nice beach it would be a 4.2-4.5 star.

They were working on the floor above us, our room smelled like varnish. Not much of a beach out front of the property, not a lot of activities at the property.

I think this property is lovely. The staff are super attentive and friendly, the food was excellent, the views from the room are unmatched, and it felt so safe. I would have given it 5 stars, except they didnt have a lot of different show options, the pools closed really early and there wasnt a lot to do in the evening. The hotel is pretty far from town so if want to do anything at night you have to leave the hotel. Otherwise it was amazing!

Es un hotel muy bonito, la comida excelente y el personal amable. Lo unico negativo es que su playa es muy pequeña y llena de rocas, tuvimos que desplazarnos a otra playa.

La comida es muy repetitiva, no hay mucha variedad y pocas proteínas, muchas verduras

It's a nice resort. The food wasn't so great.

Room was lovely. Special dining was very good the reservation woman was unfriendly and unhelpful. We simply went to the restaurants, spoke with the Capitan and were seated. But the reservation office just said dining rooms were full but each night we went they were not at all full. Day dining was only at one buffet or the small snack area which we found very disappointing. No sit down restaurant was an option. Layout of public areas was poor because there were no ocean view areas for dining or tables and chairs for sitting outside near pools.

Excellent location, amazing view! Staff is very friendly. The only issue is that you can’t book the restaurants that you want, because there is a limit of them. We went for 7 nights and only allowed 3 restaurants, the other days had to be in the buffet. (Disappointed).

The restaurants are challenging to get into if you don't have a reservation and the reservations are gone if you haven't booked two days in advance. The Buffett restaurant is same food everyday and is average at best and no where near as big as the pictures lead you to believe. Staff is very friendly and seems to always want to help so that was very nice. I would have thought hotel WiFi would have been included but that is an extra charge.

My stay at Azul Grand was just what I needed-a relaxing time in warm weather where I could hear and see the ocean all the time. The staff, to a person, were among the most friendly and helpful I have encountered in my travels. The rooms are large but bare bones, but the incredible deck overlooking the Pacific are a big plus. I was disappointed in the food and the limited reservation options at the restaurants other than the buffet-which was abundant but only ok. I was surprised they didn’t have a manicurist at the spa. The beach area was small and rocky. This is definitely a family oriented resort, so if you are looking for a more adult experience this would not be for you. There is an adult only pool.
