This place is pretty gross overall. We got the 2 bedroom with 2 bathroom, living room and full kitchen suite. The room itself was nice and roomy, but the cleanliness was sub par, the location is absolutely awful (literally a homeless encampment outside) and the grounds were icky also. As far as the cleanliness of the room, there was a used bar of soap left by housekeeping from a previous guest, black hair in one tub, and fingerprints all over the fridge. Not to mention one fork only in the silverware drawer. Outside our room was a dirty band aide and we saw 2 used condoms on our way from our room to breakfast. The pool was murky looking and under construction. The homeless encampment is very off putting and something I assume management could and should call the city to report it to in an attempt to have it relocated. One of the homeless folks parked their car in the hotel lot and was going back and forth from their trailer to the car right by our car and room. We felt unsafe overall. Additionally, there is no elevator, which was fine for us as we are able bodied and can drag our bags up flights of stairs but this is was not notes on the hotels description. The no pool and no elevator alone should lower the price to stay here. Lastly, $250 for a safety deposit is about 2-3 times what typical places charge. Just stay somewhere else.

The area good but I didn’t like how they charge for parking even tho we had book the hotel. And the security deposit was too high. 260$ I had the money save for the trips but we couldn’t go anywhere because the security deposit. So we still at the hotel all day

We were very disappointed overall with our stay. While the room was clean and comfortable, the pool was out of order as was the exercise room. Instead of breakfast being extended to 10 a.m. on the weekend like most other places I have stayed, it ended at 9 a.m. In addition, I was trying to call the hotel to ask if we could check in early and I ended up in an endless loop. I was able to talk to agents who gave me instructions to reach the front desk that continuously got me back where I started. I finally got the the hotel where I was told that they had lost power and would be unable to allow me to check in because they couldn't access their system. It just felt like there should be something they should be able to do. In addition, there is an RV parked right across from the hotel with all kinds of junk piled on and around. It's clearly a homeless individual who has taken up residence. I would not stay here again.

I love the layout of the rooms. The pool hours made it difficult to swim before checkout (10am-8pm). Breakfast was included and delicious. They charged me for parking. There is no bar or restaurant at this hotel. Nothing within walking distance. I would stay here again if I don’t have my kids with us.

This hotel has seen better days. Our check-in was quick at 9:30pm. We had a 3rd floor room and there’s no elevator. Room had a nice layout-2 bedrooms, but everything seemed worn down. Key card reader barely worked. Refrigerator was at least 20 years old. HVAC had to be turned off due to hot rubber smell the next day and maintenance wasn’t available to check it out. We were told to deal with it as there were no other room available. Breakfast was okay and coffee was hot. Seating was cramped and there was no fruit. Hot tub was out of order. We don’t plan to stay here again.

I had a business trip that I brought my family on. This place was the worst experience ever. I chose it for the large space for comfort. The room was infested with roaches. I left feeling sick to my stomach. Had to pack up my family and find another place last minute. While the staff were nice, the place was disgusting and the overall quality was terrible.

First time at Sonesta San Jose. Exceeded my expectations across the board. The Room was very clean and spacious. The comp breakfast was better than most comparable hotels. I would definitely check back in when I'm in San Jose.

We liked our stay overall, but the grounds were very unkempt, they seemed understaffed, our room had an unpleasant smell and they missed details like light bulbs being burned out, lack of silverware for two people, and no luggage racks. Would we stay again? Probably not.

The hotel was under construction, with excessive noise and worker traffic. Our room had mice, informed management and they did nothing. Our deposit was not returned, because we had a pet with us. They even lied about returning deposit. Left the room much cleaner than when we arrived. Had a sense when we checked in, should have listened to my instincts.

We’ve stayed at this location before and have loved it. This time was different and we will likely not stay there again. They are remodeling the rooms, so there is construction going on. It looks like it will be very nice with fresh colors and new fixtures. We checked in and the first room had black mold in the bathroom. The lovely staff Reina upgraded us to another room. She was very welcoming and solved our issue quickly. Unfortunately, that upgraded room had a rat. When we told the staff, they said it as due to the construction. The maintenance worker put in rat traps and was checking periodically. Before the rat encounter, I was walking around like normal and my feet were black from the carpet.

Their furniture here is outdated, and there were ants in the bathroom. They only give you one set of towels for a 4 day stay. Housekeeping is only available in the mornings. Weird men were walking around ladies be careful when traveling solo and staying here.

The pool area was dirty and not kept up. Inside our non smoking room had bad odor of cigarette. We found a cockroach in our room. Bed was uncomfortable and no phone in our room to call front desk, we had people running and banging in the room above us.

We came to town for a concert at Levi’s. We chose this property due to the affordability, recent renovation, and walk ability to the light rail since we did not get a rental car. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Tasty options for breakfast. All in all this was an excellence choice and we will book here again when we come to the area again.

I always like the Sonesta brand. This locale is no exception. The front desk staff is exceptional and the rooms are spacious and plush (as in fluffy and comfortable). I only did not like the TV selections as there was no guide and no option to access your own subscriptions on the provided devices.

The 2 bed room suite is good with 2 separate attached baths. The hotel is currently under renovation and only bagged breakfast is provided. The internet is too slow and unusable from 5 pm to 11 pm.

This place is just ok. The beds were so hard it was tough to sleep, and no smart TV which was a bummer. The place has "pardon our dust" messaging when you get there, that I don't remember seeing when I booked the trip. Though glad they are renovating as it is kind of falling apart in a lot of small ways (Torn curtains, shower doors that are rickety etc).

I have been a loyal guest for several years, staying at your hotels multiple times annually, including your sister property just last month. However, this most recent experience was, without question, the worst I have ever had with your brand. From the moment of check-in, I encountered unprofessional and dismissive behavior- a complete lack of hospitality. When I reached my roon, there was garbage and food waste outside the door, being rummaged through by squirrels. This was not only unsightly but unsanitary. Ironically, I had just been told by the manager that housekeeping was "doing a phenomenal job." That could not have been further from the truth. That first night, the air conditioning in our room was broken. Move to a new room but AC still broken. This stay was an absolute disaster. I paid for a comfortable and professional hotel experience but instead, I endured broken amenities, noise disturbances, poor cleanliness, and a total lack of customer service. It is unacceptable that no one on property or afterward took ownership of these failures. Parties were thrown 10/30+10/31 the noise had us up all night, nothing was done. The manager, Mark was supposed to call me- NEVER did.

We came to town for a concert at Levi’s. We chose this property due to the affordability, recent renovation, and walk ability to the light rail since we did not get a rental car. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Tasty options for breakfast. All in all this was an excellence choice and we will book here again when we come to the area again.

Everything was great, except I got overcharged. The invoice says I have been credited. However, my bank account shows it as a transaction, not a deposit. This has been a giant headache. I wanted to return. But I cancelled out of fear the same might happen again. The staff is awesome.

I got there and they were over sold and didn't have a room for me. I had the confirmation, but still no luck. Never had that happen to me before. Won't go back ever to that hotel or that chain.

My wife left valuables in our room and did not realize this until 3 hours after checkout. We called the front desk, and their service team had found and saved the items for us. We were very relieved and grateful to the staff at Sonesta for their professionalism.

The hotel is under construction so they don’t have as many units available. The breakfast is excellent. I called many times to request a downstairs room and put in my request because my father was having surgery and needed a downstairs room, and what did they give me? An upstairs room. I ended falling and spraining my ankle moving our luggage out of that hotel and to another hotel that COULD accommodate my request. Making a stressful time with my father’s surgery even more stressful. I would never stay at Sonesta again.

Hotel was great. It’s always our go to hotel when we are in town, but the neighborhood has become a place for Rv parking/homelessness. I understand sometimes things happens, but it’s becoming a place I may not want to come back to due trash and safety concerns.

This place is pretty gross overall. We got the 2 bedroom with 2 bathroom, living room and full kitchen suite. The room itself was nice and roomy, but the cleanliness was sub par, the location is absolutely awful (literally a homeless encampment outside) and the grounds were icky also. As far as the cleanliness of the room, there was a used bar of soap left by housekeeping from a previous guest, black hair in one tub, and fingerprints all over the fridge. Not to mention one fork only in the silverware drawer. Outside our room was a dirty band aide and we saw 2 used condoms on our way from our room to breakfast. The pool was murky looking and under construction. The homeless encampment is very off putting and something I assume management could and should call the city to report it to in an attempt to have it relocated. One of the homeless folks parked their car in the hotel lot and was going back and forth from their trailer to the car right by our car and room. We felt unsafe overall. Additionally, there is no elevator, which was fine for us as we are able bodied and can drag our bags up flights of stairs but this is was not notes on the hotels description. The no pool and no elevator alone should lower the price to stay here. Lastly, $250 for a safety deposit is about 2-3 times what typical places charge. Just stay somewhere else.

Very close to all the offices in the area. Since this is in a business district, becomes deserted in the evening and weekends. They have a two bedroom option which I did not find in the area or is over $400 per night. Very nice and helpful staff.

Coffee maker doesn’t work. Ice maker doesn’t work. No breakfast as advertised. When I raised the issue with staff, he was very dismissive. False advertisement. Surrounded area was not safe. Many RVs parked across the street from the hotel . They live there long term. We witnessed police activities surrounding that “RV camp.”

Everything was good except we think it was a queen bed and not king size bed that we paid for. We used Sonesta iin Jacksonville, Fl last year and the bed was much bigger for the king bed. We liked that it was close to Levi's Stadium!!! Also need more items in kitchen. We had to request a skillet and other stuff to cook

Hotel was located very close to the airport and there were lots of shopping and dining options nearby. The continental breakfast was also good. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a room option for the two bedroom that had two queens or doubles in each bedroom as I was traveling as a party of 5. Front desk staff was also very helpful with helping me find a specific stores I was searching for in the area.

Do not stay here stay as far away from this property as possible. The second we drove in the parking lot. It was awful, disgusting. Turn back now. There is a homeless encampment outside, drug use going on people smoking crack in the parking lot. Walking through the property it was dirty, disgusting, rundown, and smelly, trash everywhere. I don't know if people live in these hotels or they section 8 what is happening here. Wonderful and helpful staff. Great suite although a bit worse for wear. Unfortunately, the facility was located in a very rundown, trashy part of town. Vacant trash-filled lots surrounded it. More of a comment on San Jose not policing vacant properties than anything else.

First time at Sonesta San Jose. Exceeded my expectations across the board. The Room was very clean and spacious. The comp breakfast was better than most comparable hotels. I would definitely check back in when I'm in San Jose.

We were very disappointed overall with our stay. While the room was clean and comfortable, the pool was out of order as was the exercise room. Instead of breakfast being extended to 10 a.m. on the weekend like most other places I have stayed, it ended at 9 a.m. In addition, I was trying to call the hotel to ask if we could check in early and I ended up in an endless loop. I was able to talk to agents who gave me instructions to reach the front desk that continuously got me back where I started. I finally got the the hotel where I was told that they had lost power and would be unable to allow me to check in because they couldn't access their system. It just felt like there should be something they should be able to do. In addition, there is an RV parked right across from the hotel with all kinds of junk piled on and around. It's clearly a homeless individual who has taken up residence. I would not stay here again.

Facility was nice, room was very spacious and the property was lovely. It felt safe. Breakfast options were not great and they ran out of a lot of the foods before breakfast was actually over but not a huge deal. The kitchen was short on utensils and didn’t have a lot of dishes so not great for cooking there. Convenient location and we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was really nice overall. It has an apartment look and feel to it. Everything was clean and I’m working condition. The staff was all friendly. The breakfast in the morning was really good. Lots of variety. I will definitely stay there again.

No elevators. Pool was working this time which was warm. Rooms are spacious but one of the rooms are hotter than the other. Weeds have overtaken the grass. Plenty of people that live in there cars park in that area, although I didn't feel unsafe.
