Leonardo Hotel London Aldgate - formerly Hotel Saint

Hotel is excellently located to public transport access points, overall appearance of the hotel is well maintained and cleanliness was welcomed compared to other hotels in London, most staff very helpful when required. However, incidents such as, waiting for approximately 12 minutes in a queue to register upon arrival at the hotel was inconvenient, an unbbħ civil/cold interaction from member of reception team in comparison to other reception staff towards other guests was disappointing and WiFi & TV remote did not work. Thankfully, WiFi and remote unit resolved promptly! Surprisingly, the attached independently owned rooftop bar users [non-hotel guests] all use the main hotel entrance to access the bar, resulting in the lobby being crowded and access to one of the 2 x working lifts being restricted to these non-hotel guests when they arrived in the lobby after queuing outside the hotel entrance. I saw myself having to wait for the other lift to become available when the bar access lift was empty & being held for bar users to use….very inconvenient as a disabled person! Why was it never considered that there should be a separate entrance/exit for bar users; who happen not be guests of this hotel to use!? Finally, hotel information/guidance i.e WiFi, room amenities (AC & TV), guest services, point of contact for anything, and local attractions/services would have been welcomed within the room!

We had an amazing time at the Hotel Saint. The location is great for getting around on the Tube. The staff were very welcoming. The bathroom was beautiful and spacious. The view from the rooftop bar is also worth the ride up the elevator and the drink. My only “deduction” would be the size of the bed. We reserved a King sized bed and as Americans are used to a larger size, our bed was a Queen size at best. We would definitely come back.

Fantastic hotel for the price - very serviceminded staff. We had the included breakfast, which was a bit basic - not that big a selection, but the taste and quality was great. Toilets near the gym was plugged and not cleaned, which left a bad impression, but overall very nice hotel. Rooms was a bit chilly - AC was reset to 15degree when leaving the room, and there was a draft from the window. The view from our room was amazing! Would visit again!

Nice and kinda high end hotel, with excellent amenities. Very clean and modern, excellent bed, kettle and coffee in the room, and a minibar which is convenient. Nice gym with a view. Area is good and the underground station is right next to it. Only big, big weakness is that the walls are paper thin, which is stunning in that kind of hotel ! You can hear everything in the rooms surrounding you and in the hall (doors slamming). We had a noisy neighbor for one night and it was troublesome.

This is a lovely hotel in a good location both for underground station and walking, staff are helpful and friendly and rooms clean and well equipped. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel but enjoyed a drink in the rooftop bar, be prepared to pay a bit more for the experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will definitely be back on my next visit

The hotel is in good location and staffs are helpful and friendly . The only thing to be complained about is the roof top bar in the evening when we have to share the elevators with the bar patrols and at time we encountered certain uneasy behavior or scene that make us feel uncomfortable!

Only stayed one night and it was a nightmare! The AC in the first room didn’t work properly, management came to reset it and asked us to wait (20mins) to see if it would cool. It didn’t cool so she offered a fan or change of room. We changed rooms and the AC was much better but the sheets were dirty. Bed made nicely with blood stains on the sheets, so we had to change rooms again and this one was cleaner AC not the best but it’s 2am and we just wanted sleep. The hotel offered an upgrade for the next stay and complimentary breakfast if breakfast was not included.

Carpets weren’t clean in the room or hallway. Staff was helpful. Burger in the restaurant was delicious

Hotel Saint was excellent, right beside Aldgate tube station & a 10 minute stroll to Liverpool Street. The room was clean & well equipped with an excellent walk in shower. We didn't eat in the hotel as there are so many other options (try Duck & Waffle for breakfast with incredible views) We got a great deal with Hotels.com & would definitely recommend to others.

Aesthetic, clean and modern property close to Aldgate and Liverpool Street, walking distance to Tower Bridge. Loved the skyscraper view from the 11th floor!

Very pleasant check in and staff were attentive and friendly. The rooftop bar turned out to not be part of the hotel and needed reservations but we were accommodated as hotel guests. Loved the location, super convenient for travelling and the hotel handled a technical issue with our room very well. Cleanliness was good on dated rooms but the air vent above the shower was caked with dust balls and the yellow sink grouting was a bit thick. Would return on our next London visit

This trip wasn't as good as last year, all because of banging doors. My trip required me to be up very late every night and therefore I slept in a bit each morning. Unfortunately I was across the hall from the supply closet so every morning for about 2 hours I had to listen to that door bang shut every minute or so for about 2 hours. The door closing was sometimes strong enough to vibrate the bed. Other hotel room doors would hit just as hard but weren't being used regularly like the supply closet. They need some sort of cushioning to slow the close (or something) to prevent the banging. Also the carpet on one side of the bed had the faint odor of urine. I didn't notice it right away or I would have asked to change rooms. I would have if I had realized the door banging was going to be every morning.

The staff was courteous and helpful. The accommodations of the room were very good. We had a great view and our bed was very comfortable. The only drawback was our bathroom was not clean.

Location is great. Next to Aldgate Stn, circle and metropolitan line. Room is a bit small, ideal for solo Traveller. Very clean and new. Breakfast is average, a few simple Not buffet

When I checked in, the receptionist was very friendly and compassionate as I had had a very stressful day. The room was immaculate, with cosy lighting, beautifully designed. But I had a room by the lift which was in constant use all night so I didn’t have the best nights sleep.

The place was lovely. Just the air con wasn’t soiling the room down.

Staff was very welcoming and accommodated every request we had from fixing our ac to more coffee and towels. Room was a little small but we expected that in London. No dresser so that was surprising but we made it work. Great location! Woukd definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Great location. However, they need to sort the air conditioning out. Our room was really stuffy and quite uncomfortable to sleep in.

I really enjoyed having a tube station right next to the hotel. This made it extremely easy to move around the city without any hassle. The only downside (while very small) is that the king bed was two twin mattresses together. This made sleeping a little awkward since there was a gap in between. Other than that, I would recommend the hotel. The facilities are very clean and the staff is friendly.

The property was very nice. The room was also nice, but a bit small for 2 peoples. The only other downsides to the room was the air didn't get cool enough and the water pressure was bad in the shower.

The hotel itself was fine. The location was super convenient. My room placement was really unfortunate on the 12th floor near the lift. The lifts are quite old and make a horrible clanging noise every time it stops. It was incredibly noisy and even with earplugs in it was difficult to sleep. I understand though that it's not cheap to replace a lift. I suspect if I was in a different room my review would be much more positive.

GREAT location! It was easy to get from the hotel to the main attractions, and it was within easy walking distance of all types of restaurants. The staff was also wonderful. They checked on tube and train times for us to get to the airport, and since we had to leave really early and we were going to miss our included breakfast, they packed us a breakfast to go. Absolutely wonderful experience—would DEFINITELY stay there again!

This property was a great property, however, the staff at the front desk was so rude and disrespectful. They weren’t friendly at all. They barely wanted to help people, and I would never go back to this hotel, simply because of the staff.

The property was able to accommodate early check in for us after a very long and exhausting flight, and the nice receptionist was great to deal with!

The receptionist at check-in was distracted by messages coming through on her phone, and then attended to someone else who asked for a replacement key fob…all when she was supposed to be checking me in. Very frustrating.

We were disappointed by the environment of Hotel Saint. Every day, there is a huge crowd for check-in at 3 pm, the elevators are always full, and there is a non-affiliated rooftop bar that also uses their lobby and lifts, therefore it always felt very busy and chaotic. You can also hear the music from the bar at night, even from our hallway on floor 7. When we arrived at the property, we were expeting a private bathroom, but it was a sliding door with a one inch gap that cannot be closed. Moreover, the white walls are full of scratches and makes the place look dirty. We requested a room with a closing door to the bathroom, since the maintenance employee said they had a few. We were given a mobility room that downsized our bed from a king to a double, and an open-concept bathroom where everything is wet when you shower. The double bed mattress was also very uncomfortable. We tried calling reception on a few different occasions, and no one ever picked up. Although the staff at reception and the hotel restaurant are kind, they rarely felt available, and were visibly annoyed by our request to change rooms. Overall, I was not impressed by the service, and disappointed by the quality of the rooms for what seemed to be a "high-end" hotel, from online pictures.

I’ve stayed at this hotel four times now, and the service has been excellent every single time. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always make you feel welcome. The rooms have consistently been clean and comfortable, with everything working just as it should. It’s clear that the hotel maintains a reliable and high standard, which is why I keep coming back. Highly recommended!

In our case, the service and front desk went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we had an amazing trip—for that we are grateful. Beyond that, the Wifi was exceptional, bedding perfect, AC actually worked (which is not the case in many 5star hotels in London), and most importantly the positioning next to the subway is the best!

Fantastic service! Pleasant rooms and really quiet, even though its so central. Managed to forget my jacket there, and they sent it by post the following day. Trenendous customer service!

Hotel was lovely. Evening meal was a little disappointing (way over-seasoned with soy and miso) we didn’t find the food was good as some of the reviews we’d read - although breakfast was excellent We gave feedback at the time which I hope they take on board.

Handy location, modern hotel, well equipped and comfortable rooms. Staff attentive and welcoming. Bar on roof has a great view and vibe, although a bit pricey. Breakfast was very good quality but let down by limited choices and frustrating service.

Fab hotel in a great central location. Spoiled only by a mediocre cooked breakfast. The eggs were served cold and concealed, and I sent them back only to be served with replacements which were even worse. A real shame because everything else about the hotel was excellent.

This hotel was perfect. Quick check in, great WiFi, clean rooms with lots of little extras, delicious breakfast and lovely staff. We will definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of the staff. The only problem we had was we booked the hotel for the convenience to the Underground Tube station as well as they had a "sky bar". We tried to go to the Bar, but were told there was a private party, so we were denied entrance. That was very disappointing; however, my husband and I were each given a complimentary cocktail in the restaurant bar. We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and the hotel was lovely. The hotel should have made known of a "blackout" to the SKY bar.

Fantastic location just outside tube station Lovely hotel. Rooms were great and bed very comfortable. Food in hotel was lovely Only negative was I paid for breakfast at £25 and they would not provide a cappuccino without me paying extra.

I’ll not stay at Saint Hotel again as the eating facilities were poor. We had one breakfast which we had to have in our room and we’re charge an extra £9 The breakfast was not nice, covered in oil/fat. Bacon was streaky. The only breakfast in the restaurant was £20 for a continental ie cornflakes and yogurt. To cope with a day in town we needed a good cooked breakfast. In the room there was only pod coffees. Poor
