I was working in Cambridge so booked for 10 nights. I’ve stayed in many Hilton’s so expected this to be up to standard. The hotel is old and tired, I paid over £2000 and was left very disappointed. The staff are lovely but so many things were wrong. I did complain and was given a free upgrade to a suite but even this was tired. The hotel needs a refurb. The roof leaks, the gym door key card access was broken, the WiFi was poor, it was difficult to use my firestick, the bathroom had shower curtains instead of screens, the air conditioning had to be on constantly, otherwise another fan on the ceiling would start pumping kitchen smells into the room. Also, housekeeping would only remove dirty cups and replace sugar if I left a note. It was bizarre. The duty manager was helpful and patient, but there’s only so much he could do. The hotel provides a 3 star experience for 5 star prices. I think the location is the only saving grace.

It was a good stay overall but a bit expensive specially with hidden parking costs. I mean I have never had to pay parking charges worth £30 after already paying so much for my stay. Parking should be complementary. Even after paying for the parking if I don't take my car out at 2:30pm the next day I have to pay extra.

Lovely weekend stay at the Hilton, Cambridge. Room was spotless, little extras like the heated bathroom mirror so it didnt steam up from the shower. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I can't praise it enough.

Cons: I arrived after a journey of 18 hours. The girl at the reception desk hardly greeted me and/or said a word to me. I was surprised by her coldness and remoteness when receiving a new guest. There were no towels in the room and the telephone was not working. ;( The second day of my stay at 4 pm the room had not been done. Pros: many more than cons :) The location of the hotel is exceptional. The room is very comfortable (size) The breakfast is excellent. Overall we were very happy with this selection. The check-in is slow, inefficient and chaotic which wasted so much of our time and caused lots of inconvenience. The staff is aware of the issue but didn’t show any concerns or try to help the situation. The room is in reasonable shape but the lack of amenities for a Hilton is unacceptable. This is a hot summer here in Cambridge and they don’t even have a fridge in the room?! Don’t expect to have coffee in the room either because they don’t have a coffee maker here… just tea bags and cheap instant hot chocolate (not that I would drink but no instant coffee either). The location is good. So, don’t expect the Hilton quality or service and you would probably be happier… think Marriott Courtyard or 2~3 star hotel…

Very central. Helpful and courteous reception staff. Clean room. Bathroom fittings look dated Inc bath with shower over. Escalator up to reception but not down. Insisted on taking extra £50 deposit at checkin. No way of checking rebated at checkout.

It should have been an enjoyable visit. Overall things went well but there were two problems. The first is that room 321 has a door to reach 319 and it is not soundproof so we were subjected to several noisy children or teenagers on both nights. The other problem is logging into the wi-fi. The page comes up quickly and is easy to fill in but it goes nowhere. I tried also to log in as a Hilton Honours member but that was not available. I tried calling reception but call was not answered so I tried calling by phone with no reply. I had to go to reception where a gentleman solved the problem by providing a code to bypass the software. Why doesn’t the management check that everything works?

Very central. Corporate and Pricey. Expensive breakfast - save by using the Wetherspoons round the corner. Helpful reception staff although had to make a request twice. Clean room. Dated bathroom with shower in bath. Escalator up to reception but not down ( there is a second lift)

Excellent hotel, right in the heart of the city. Immediately next to a large shopping centre, only 30 seconds from the market square, and walkable to all the sights. Our room was large and comfortable, with a lovely bed, large screen TV, big bathroom, and all the amenities you would expect. Will happily stay here in future (NOTE: if you're going to a gig at the Corn Exchange, this is a lovely place to stay, only about 100 metres from the venue).

Customer service was terrible by phone, face to face was slightly better. Walls were so thin we could hear everything going on next door thank god he didn't last long but but still hear movement and talking till 4am. Pillows were so thin you may as well not have bothered. No discounts on parking, over £40 for 24hrs. Good location

Our room was super comfortable and clean with everything we needed for a 2 night stay. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Due to its great location to restaurants, etc., We didn't eat at the hotel. We did have a few drinks in the bar, which is very comfortable, but found that the drinks were fairly expensive. We parked the car (they have valet service) and walked everywhere. Superb location.

I booked more than 6 weeks in advance, paid £450++ per night I checked in in the middle of a heatwave The ac in the room was obviously broken I complained immediately, reception told me 3 hours later that the ac was indeed broken - they knew about it and hasn’t bothered to fix it or give me alternate rooms I was there for my daughters graduation with elderly parents and I missed the afternoon event due to having to sort this issue out One person offered me a full refund but I couldn’t find a room in any other hotel for 2 nights for 3 people or 2 rooms as it’s last minute and graduation day at 5 colleges I was told point blank we can’t help you I was late for the grad dinner also Finally when we returned at night the person who said he was the duty manager said he could move us the next morning to another room but would not guarantee it would accommodate 3 people So I finally found and booked the last room available at Hotel Du Vin for myself and left my parents at Hilton Yesterday they moved us to a room for 3 but I had already booked the other hotel the night before so I moved out to go there instead All while also moving my daughter out of her dorm, attending her events and taking care of my parents We spent last night in different hotels This morning at check out they decided to charge me for both nights at first The person who promised the full refund was naturally off today After charging the full amount they then credited me 1 night back

Booked online but then told there were no rooms available. Finally found me a twin room (even though a queen was booked) and found the aircon was broken. There was a fan already in the room so obviously a known issue but we were not told about it when we checked in. Mentioned it to the reception on check out and was told thanks for letting us know.

The staff were incredibly rude to us upon arrival. One man-child behind the desk was sneering and smirking at us... An unusual way to greet guests. We wondered why we'd chosen to stay here! The location is fantastic, that made it worth staying. We met the manager when checking out and she was incredibly nice and helpful, almost made up for the others.

Great hotel in the heart of Cambridge. 10 mins walk from Colleges and tourist area. Smart, functional hotel with good service and full English breakfast along with cereal, canned juices, tea, coffee, cheeses, freshly made eggs by the chef, etc etc (but no eggs benedict!). Excellent air-conditioning. Expected higher water pressure in the shower. Very comfortable stay.

Excellent hotel, right in the heart of the city. Immediately next to a large shopping centre, only 30 seconds from the market square, and walkable to all the sights. Our room was large and comfortable, with a lovely bed, large screen TV, big bathroom, and all the amenities you would expect. Will happily stay here in future (NOTE: if you're going to a gig at the Corn Exchange, this is a lovely place to stay, only about 100 metres from the venue).

Love the location, center of Cambridge. For parking, you can utilize the parking structure that next/ back to the hotel ( for off hour, parking is really cheap; hotel has had valet parking only) . Lots of restaurants near the hotel, oh also, short walk distance to many Cambridge campuses. As first time visitor, very satisfy with it.

The room was great and the hotel is asthetically very nice. Unfortunately the use of room service let the hotel down slightly. I placed two orders. Firstly a drinks order with a subsequent food order moments later. The Food order came first (after a significant delay) and if not for enquiring about the drinks order I have little confidence this would have been delivered given there appeared to be confusion from the staff about the existence of the order. The order was taken a second time during the delivery of the food however when this was delivered it was wrong. Due to the time of other bookings there wasnt time to rectify this there and then and in hindsight I would have just left this and ensured I wasnt billed for it the next morning

Excellent location for walking everywhere. Lovely breakfast with wide selection. Super nice staff. Great with two double beds accommodating us as a family of two grownups and a tall teenager. We will be back!
