Turing Locke Cambridge

We loved using the new roof-top pizza/bar, although we wish it were non-smoking. We were also very happy to have outdoor seating options for meals. The closeness of transit to the university was key for us. Staying in an apartment instead of a hotel gave us a lot of flexibility to work and have meals, thanks to the Sainsbury. We will definitely come back.

Disappointed! Handwash in bathroom empty . No Hangers. Floor dirty. Room was not cleaned the next day so came back to no toilet rolls or clean towels or replacement of tea bags . We were charged for parking in their underground carpark and spaces were tight . Considering it was a 30 min walk or more into the city it was expensive for 2 nights . Gym was small for such a big complex . no exercise bike only a peloton but you have to be registered . Was lovely to have Sainsburys and a restaurant and cafe nearby .

Excellent stay in self contained apartment. Safe underground parking (£20 per day). Electric buses stop nearby and it’s £2 to anywhere in Cambridge. Highly recommend.

Nice place. A bit confusing as to where you can park a car. Self check in, was efficient but soulless. Well equipped rooms.

Excellent apartment hotel. I've stayed at other Locke hotels before and they all share a similar design, merging elements of a smart apartment hotel, or a cool hostel, together with the sort of slightly pricey on-site bars/restaurants you might get in a 5-star hotel. Lobby area is a bit underwhelming here but good facilities overall. I believed I received a free upgrade due to Expedia membership, to an impressive 2-room apartment. The immediate area is very clean and modern, with a Sainsbury's 3-mijs away. Not much going on though and slightly too far/roady to walk to central Cambridge.

Look for the restaurant and the entrance is just a few metres further on. (Unsigned) Parking is underground round the back and they have charges (21kw). I think there is about 16 of them but some were occupied by non electric cars!! Bus was just over the road to take you to the centre. £2 one way and £3 for unlimited for the day. Room had a small kitchen which was great for breakfast.

Great value - shame the parking was so expensive only downside. Apartments felt well designed and luxurious, although a little tired from wear and tear. Quick 10 minute uber into the city and the area was very modern with a Sainsbury’s almost next door. Hotel was massive and quite a walk from the lift just be warned! It felt like lots of guests were long term too which is made possible by having a washing machine and kitchen in the flats!

Great place to stay with dog on way north. Walks right on the doorstep and EV charging in the car park. Locke forgot the woof package on this occasion but immediately refunded me the supplement, which is the perfect response to a mistake.

This aparthotel was a great choice for us, only a 15 minute drive to the centre of Cambridge and there were many amenities around the hotel. We spent our day in Cambridge but ate/drank at the bars and restaurants that were a 2 minute walk away from the hotel. The value for money was extremely good. Just one thing to note was parking at the hotel was £15 a night or outside the hotel was ringo parking, which after 6pm till 8am is free so we ended up spending less than a £5 so if you get your timings right it’s a great option to save a bit of money. Myself and partner really enjoyed the cocktail bar onsite (deuces) and the roof top bar for drinks and the food at the Astronomer restaurant was incredible. Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

A beautiful room which has a real attention to detail, with an excellent standard of cleanliness.

We really enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is very spacious and quiet. We also parked for both nights, which was fine but a little steep at £15 per night. Our studio/room was a little dirty when we arrived..crumbs and smudges all over the kitchen area. The bathroom wasn't that clean either e.g we found a hair stick to the hand wash. There is no restaurant attached but there is one a few mins walk from the lobby (astronomer). There is a convenient bus stop that gets you into the city centre in 15mins and tickets are available from the lobby desk, so it's still a good option if you want to visit the central areas.

The apartment was spacious with a balcony that was accessible from all 3 rooms and a view of a nice green garden. There was a washing machine. It is a newly developing area. There is a Sainsbury and 2 restaurants close by. Our main dissatisfaction is because the advertising of this place on Expedia is misleading. The listing said there would be two bathrooms, but there was only one, and the check-in just informed us “the listing was wrong” and didn’t provide any apology or refund. I talked to Expedia later on to get some refund. This place is also advertised as “airconditioned“ but air conditioning was only installed in one of the 3 rooms. The upkeep of this apartment is not good. The carpets looked shabby. The terrace which was a nice feature was unusable as it had cobwebs and dead insects in many places. When we came in the dishwasher was broken, and there was food still crusted on utensils and tabletops. We asked for a week of dishwasher pods for our 8 night stay, but reception told us they “can’t” and we would have to come down every few days to ask for more. When we asked them to fix it the broken dishwasher, it took hours and several reminders to send anyone. It was more work staying here than it’s worth. While it is advertised as a clean space suitable for long stays, it doesn’t quite measure up. I felt that some of the frontdesk staffs were well-trained while others were not. The stove and microwave (SMEG brand) was weird -we needed instructions to operate.

Overall my stay was good, the hotel is modern and I love the concept and decor. The location is good, a 10 minute drive from the city centre and a 45 minute walk which is what I went for to save money. The room was great for what I wanted and essentials were provided. Some points I would note, the tap in the kitchen had an intermittent drip, the toilet seat was loose and the towels had a musty smell as if they’d been stored for a while before being put out. Very minor things but noticeable. I also found the hotel reception staff to be a bit unapproachable with the exception of the person I spoke to on check out. I tried to access Douce Heights one evening and kept getting conflicting information from both receptions, even the posters at the hotel said different things. In the end I gave up which was a shame as it seemed like a nice perk of the hotel.

This is a modern, relatively new hotel, so it was a surprise that it already had maintenance issues: the sliding door in front of the bedroom was jammed and would not slide, several cupboards did not close correctly, the coat hanger on the wall was loose and the shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom came apart. Also concerning was that even though we had two rooms, they did not have a carpark and we were looking for street parking. There is also no dedicated drop-off, pick up zone, let alone an undercover one, which is problematic, especially when it is raining. Overall, the hotel promised more than it delievered...

Everything was good apart from cleanliness of the room. Friendly staff, useful info, small but well equipped gym, close to shops, restaurants and the bus into the city centre. However the cleanliness of the room was poor, looked like it hadn't been hoovered and the was dried on food on the sofa. The sofa also had a large dip in one side as though someone had lived in the room and not moved off the seat.

Really impressed with Turing Locke during my stay there. Excellent friendly and professional service from Arthur at check-in. The two bedroom apartment was immaculately clean, spacious and well equipped. Great to be able to cook our own food, but also to have the option of meals in the restaurant. Very easy to get into Cambridge but in a quiet area where parking is less stressful than in town. Would highly recommend.

Great welcome, local amenities and easy parking. The rooms where a great size and we loced the separate sitting area from the sleeping area. Great large shower for two people.

However, we were surprised by the noticeable wear and tear on the furnishings, given the building’s recent age, and the bed and pillows weren’t as comfortable as we’d hoped. The park-and-ride into Cambridge is also just a short drive away, making it a convenient base for exploring the city.

Air con was not cool enough. It was a very hot weekend. We could not turn down the air con - 19 was NOT cool enough

Living area was too small to be useful, never had one so small here on previous stays. Kitchen getting tired and needs tlc - loose tap, seal around sink

Awesome place for a short family stay. Spacious, modern and well-appointed.

Clean with friendly and welcoming staff. Extra £15 per night for parking. Dystopian and soul less area. Had difficulty operating the oven , the TV, finding the cutlery. Room comfortable except low light levels and ‘mini sofa’ too small for two of us and TV mounted on side wall in Kitchen area so difficult to watch. Sadly, would not recommend.

The room was clean and well equipped in a cookie cutter modern style with ample storage. However the design and layout of the bathroom was ill thought out with minimal storage for toiletries. The air con was the biggest issue as it was locked to 22 degrees, which meant it was very hot when trying to get ready. The windows were locked shut and there was no easy way to contact reception, short of physically going down there. You got the impression they didn’t really care anyway. It seemed to be a very soulless place, without warmth of character. Parking was also quite a faff, as there was no obvious indication when booking that there was a very limited number of bays which cost an additional fee per night. That could be due to Expedia as opposed to the hotel though. Overall the vibe was very corporate and concrete and I would not choose to stay here again.

Staff were lovely. Terrace 2 bedroom rooms are huge. Terrace goes all around apartment so both bedrooms have access to terrace. Good facilities on site and only £12 uber to get to Cambridge city centre.

The studio room was well equipped and clean. The only issue was not being able to get any proper sleep because of the noise of the fan. I tried everything to switch it off and mentioned it to reception in the morning thinking it may be faulty. But I was informed the fan cannot be turned off. I wouldn’t stay again unfortunately. I couldn’t sleep with the noise of the room fan.

Room was lovely, staff friendly & public areas clean & nicely laid out. The parking though was a nightmare. Probably wasted 30-40 mins trying to figure out where we could park & waiting for a spot to free up.

Loved the room, staff were very friendly and very responsive! The only reason I didn’t rate 5* is due to the sink being blocked during our stay and the shower leaking through the door to flood the floor. Other than that, good stay I’d stay again in a better room for sure!

stayed for 2 nites. this is one of the best place for my trip to Europe. Robyn at the counter treated us very well and helped us to reslove my issue. she is a lovely person and and have a good memory. the room is clean and room is spacious. check in and out is fast. love this place and will come back on my next trip.

Front desk staff (a lady was rude) and unhelpful. My room Was never cleaned in 3 days Fire alarm going off constantly Parking fee was not clear and costly.

Soulless area

The entire site is newly built, but that worked in the hotels favour. Its a fair walk in to Cambridge, but that worked for us and there are busses if needed. Great restaurants attached to the hotel.

Great Location for visiting Cambridge. Short bus ride into Cambridge. Facilities atound the Hotel ate good , a couple of Bars and Restaurants and a supermarket.

Very good as usual, room and facilities clean and high spec. Not a lot of entertainment in the area, as expected, but travel into town on the nearby U1/2 bus is very handy and cheap. I just wish the lifts were closer to the rooms I've had :)

Very spacious 2-room apartment; kitchette design was somewhat awkward with "hidden" utensils. Happy for use of the washer/dryer, but instructional help with dryer was needed. Weakest aspect was the location outside of Cambridge proper, requiring a 20-minute bus ride...longer to the train station. But we paid less for this inconvenience and got a suite room with W/D.

Fair room let down by a few small issues. Aircon not working and wasn’t attended to after requesting. Coffee mugs and accessories but no teaspoons. Room size is good but a weird configuration. I wasn’t able to get anything to eat even at 7.30pm. Pizzas ran out on the roofbar, the main restaurant wasn’t allowing anyone in as they claimed they were full (but I saw only half) and then I eventually ate at Dutch outside. Awful food and shocking to charge £13 for 3 small tacos Good for a night or two but there are nicer options like the Hyatt next door.

V good. Just a bit frustrating that there’s no real breakfast option. The breakfast in the hotel next door is not great

The advertised on site restaurant and cafe were closed and looked like they had been for some time. You should not market your hotel as having restaurant and cafe facilities when you no longer have them.
