Good welcome on arrival. Clean hotel and room. Bed very hard and duvet too small for the double bed. Good breakfast selection and all staff helpful. No comfy chairs in the room. One hard dining type and one pc type. Both not as described in advert. However, good value for money and the breakfast is excellent. Good cheap parking too.

Stayed in room 211 - which was next to lift shaft. Sadly woken up several times due to the noise and people slamming doors. Room is above the main entrance, which also contributed to the noise. Location perfect for business meeting, hence have stayed here many times. Next time will ask for a quiet room. Plenty of parking spaces and lovely location for a walk.

This is our third time staying in this hotel, and we are likely to stay here again next time we visit Cambridge. Since it's located in an industrial park, the hotel is not close to any tourist attractions but it is inexpensive. Cambridge is only about 15 minutes away by car, so it's quite convenient. The rooms are all spacious enough for a short stay, and are modern -- power outlets everywhere; large shower with plenty of hot water; very comfortable bed; choice of firm or soft pillow; effective heating/cooling. Breakfast is quite extensive and good quality, with vegetarian options available upon request. They also have two microwave ovens in the lobby for guest use, and there are several nearby supermarkets that sell microwave dinners. Parking can be tricky when the hotel is full, but the parking lot is well-lit and quite safe. The staff are all very helpful and cheerful -- we were pleasantly surprised by how ready and willing they were to help us with any little request. This is definitely a good choice for the budget-conscious traveller who doesn't want to compromise on comfort.

The Holiday Inn Express exceeded our expectations. Wonderful helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. It was extremely good value for money. Twenty-four hour parking cost £10 It’s just a short walk to the bus stop - bus takes you into centre of Cambridge. Taxi back was £11 ( less expensive than parking in the city centre, IF parking available ). We’ll look forward to staying here next visit.

This is the third time my wife and I have stayed here -- we keep coming back because it's inexpensive and close to Cambridge. Rooms are modern and comfortable but lack power outlets beside the bed. Breakfast is quite comprehensive, offering hot and cold food. Parking is free but sometimes the parking lot gets quite crowded. Front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. One nice touch -- they have a couple of microwave ovens in the lobby for guest use. There are late-night supermarkets nearby where one can get microwave dinners. The breakfast area has plates, napkins, and cutlery.

Clean room though was tired looking, TV had missing pixels so everyone looked like there heads had been cut off. Room was quite dark as one main light in the corner of the room. Breakfast was good, bar was well stocked and usual hotel prices

Clean and tidy place to stay. Parking was complementary but requires registration at reception. No fridge in room which lost a star for me. The automated voice in the lift sounded bored. Not quite Marvin the robot with brain the size of a planet but made me laugh. Breakfast was included and was pretty reasonable. Recommend!

Only there for a night. Shower drain was clogged. Previous occupants dirty towels left in shower. Carpets in main room were dirty and stained with God knows what by the windows. Positive is the bed was comfy.

The beds were comfortable, excellent breakfast, nice staff. Unfortunately, the bathroom had a horrible odor. Wondering if it is a construction flaw- there’s no caulking in the floor tiles - and they get wet. Staff said they would send maintenance- but nothing changed. Had to keep bathroom door shut the entire time otherwise it was unbearable.

BED BUGS ALERT! I was in roOm 133 and was attacked by bed bugs. 4 days later I am still itchty on my full body. We complained at the reception and my wife emailed the Manager as per reception's advice. No answer at this stage (4 days later!) AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

So bad soundproofing that we were able to hear our neighbours talking and coughing. Also some dog was barking outside in the morning. Breakfast was average. Location was OK but due to roadwork it took long to get there from the city. The water pressure in the shower was so weak that I couldn't wash my tick hair. Not worth the money.

My room was like a sauna. Air conditioning was defective. Also, had to pay extra for parking which was not advertised when booking the hotel. The breakfast serving area was too small, and therefore, far too busy at breakfast time. I informed reception of the air conditioning issue and was told this was a known issue for that side of the hotel.

Good location, just a 5-7 min walk to the nearest bus stop. Area is quiet. Staff are friendly. The room was fairly cramped for a family when the sofa bed is out. It was also not comfortable to sleep on, could do with replacing the mattress. The bathroom has been nicely renovated but unfortunately the tap is too far from the sink and water goes everywhere.

We stayed during the hottest day of the year, the air conditioning was broken and our room was over 30 degrees in temperature. We asked for a fan in our room, we were brought a broken one. When asking for ice from reception they told us they couldn’t give us any. The staff were unhelpful, unsympathetic. We spoke to other guests of the hotel who left to stay somewhere else due to having such a poor experience. Would not recommend staying here.

The hotel itself was fine...but the sofa bed was not big enough for two (even teenagers) to share. Barely bigger than a single bed. Hotel did provide some extra duvets to allow someone to sleep in the floor.

I was really impressed with this hotel. We received a perfect welcome and Candice who welcomed us was brilliant and so knowledgable about the local area. The food served here was amazing. The breakfast buffet was always well stocked and fresh. I genuinely don't have anything bad to say about it.

Severely understaffed, waiting to check in as staff were covering the bar, and then later the staff were on reception with multiple people queuing at the bar to order food whilst all staff were on reception ( 2 staff) Food availability was beyond poor; available were Starters, 2 Curries and Limited pizzas. No cooked meat of any description. So again the only food available was pre-prepared stuff, which was either put in a microwave or a pizza oven ....................... No issue with the staff, they were run of their feet The room was clean tho Reasonable overnight parking at £5.00 Business Stay

Cambridge is a fantastic destination and our trip was great. The hotel is a long walk from the centre, but you can’t really drive into the city centre and walking for 30 mins is as good as any other way to get there. The hotel was clean and quiet and the breakfast was the best English breakfast you could except to get. We really enjoyed our stay.

I feel this hotel is dated and needs modernising. There was water leaking onto the bathroom floor in our room. The breakfast was not great. Staff seem very nice. It’s handy to get into Cambridge. You can walk along a path to get to the bus stop into the centre.

Nice stay for one night, but felt too isolated from everything and from public transportation as well. It was clean and nice personnel. The 10 minute wooded walkway to get to businesses or buses made me uneasy if I were to walk it alone at night.

Excellent spot to access C. Via Bus and leave car behind not worrying about car parking which is a major headache in English tourist destinations. Small but comfortable room, reasonable breakfast. - overall one of the best places for $$ value we stayed at on our trip in UK. Bus just 10min down lane, 4£ return per person which drops you centre C. and runs quite frequently. CP 5£ for 24hrs - also great price as have paid at times upto 24£ .

Room fine, staff were good, food was appalling. Absolutely disgraceful. I had a pizza in the evening which was awful. The breakfast was worse. Why produce all those options for breakfast but not do any of them well. Why not just keep it simple but good quality. All you need is Good coffee, fresh croissant or a bacon roll and some fresh fruit. Maybe some yogurt and granola. That’s it but do it well! The coffee was absolutely disgusting.

Room was good as were the staff. Sorry to say the food we had was not the best - steak pie - pastry was very hard, lasagna-was very salty & a little too sweet for my taste. Also would be better if the plates were warm, that also applies to the plates at breakfast

The room was fine. Modern and clean. Bathroom and shower worked perfectly and were very clean. The downside was the quality of food at breakfast. The orange juice tasted more like orange squash. I had to leave a cup of cappuccino as it tasted curdled. The black americano was very acidic but just about drinkable. The granola had very little fruit and no nuts in it but there was autumn berries to add to it. No good quality bread so I gave that a miss. The cooked breakfast was ok but the croisant was quite poor. A little annoyed at having to pay for car parking even though it was only £5 with the coupon.

The breakfast was quite low key; scrambled egg was tasteless like plastic. The choices were quite limited. We had once a dinner there and it was quite poor quality. So, except the low quality of food/meals, it was ok.
