Red Lion Hotel Monterey

Room was in poor condition. Bottom drawer full of garbage and moldy food. Shower was dirty.

Good value, clean. Ac/heat is noisy, beds are good.

Cheap stay for the weekend. Floors, shower and table tops were dirty. The beds and the pillows were not comfortable. The parking lot was filled with strange people all hours of the day and night. There were people sleeping in their cars and trash everywhere outside. I will never return to this hotel even if it was the last hotel available in Monterey.

The only good thing i really can say was the front desk was nice and they were pet friendly. All else wasnt appealing and for me it got worse i felt. From the outside the property was falling apart. Damaged walls and stuff, nothing was upkeep. Then if this matters for most idk for my wife the doors are outside. Meaning your not within an establishment and you can feel the outside weather and strangers can walk around your room hall. Now our room was on the first level. You walk in look normal, till i walk in the bathroom toilet had some kind of stain or something on the inside walls. With the seat up there was smoke ash on the rim of toilet. The make up of the bathroom had a random guy who just started diy. Cause the caulking and tiles were bad. The shower head was like out of the wall as you can see the hole. The room had like a sticky feel in the air and floor, felt disgusting as i wore my shores throughout. I feel the building could be better up keep, its below the minimum as they just barely pick up and say it ready. And I'm sure the cleaning of the rooms is done poorly cause there could of been more i say but not enough space to write all. Don't let the price fool y'all or location, a little more and drive wouldn't hurt, if not you shouldn't be staying out
