The tech was good on the tv, staff were very friendly and helpful, property was clean, and we definitely enjoyed the comfy bed and fireplace. The balcony, swimming pool, and jacuzzi were all very small and not really worth using. Very close to shops, restaurants, and aquarium. Overall, nice property and I would stay again.

It's all about the location, being right in the middle of Monterey. The hotel is OK, but given the price and the rating I was expecting more. Nothing special or outstanding. We booked two rooms. One with a terrace, which was nice but not clean (and asking for it to be cleaned up made no difference; dust and cobwebs were still there). The pool is a joke, and the smallest "pool" I've ever seen (or is it a big tub? ;-). Can even swim a lap without touching both sides of it. Jacuzzi is nice, but also very small (4-5 people max). Staff is a mixed bag. Some were nice, others rude. Called ahead of time to ask for an early check-in. Got that confirmed, so we timed our arrival, but still ended up waiting an hour and a half, being told that I "must have called the wrong number" (which was not the case). We stayed in the same hotel a couple of years back and had great memories, but unfortunately things have changed. Will not repeat.

Clean and comfortable. Furnishings need updating. Pool and spa very interesting... Monday morning went to pool early, all the dirty towels were all over from the night before on chairs and in piles in the return bins, no clean towels for us to use. The spa was bubbling with soap suds, not very enjoyable. The wall fountains are damaged and chipping. Really appreciated the valet parking being for all day and the valets willingness to get your car if you want to load it and still stay longer in the area after checking out. Overall very good. Thank you.

Excellent hotel for those looking to enjoy Monterey. I've stayed at the Clement multiple times: as a solo traveler, part of a friend group, as a couple, and with my immediate family, It's a great place to stay under any circumstances because of the location, the condition of the hotel, and restaurant. My favorite rooms are the oceanfront rooms with balcony. You get a direct 24/7 view of the ocean with sea otters, birds, and nature right from your room. Only thing I would say is, there definitely is a spa, but it's small. Same with the pool, VERY VERY small. If you are looking for a "hang out all day here" kind of spa or pool, this isn't the place.

I selected the property for the hot tub. And it was not hot. More like a lukewarm tub. I called every night to ask somebody if there’s anything they can do to turn it up. Because the nights were very cold. And they told me they’d get maintenance right on it, but it was never warm enough to sit in for more than a couple minutes. It’s just disappointing because I chose this hotel for a work trip because of the hot tub and we’re scheduling many more work trips in the next year. Will rethink where we stay.

After walking past it many times, this was our first time staying at the Intercontinental. It was super convenient with a child to be so close to so much. The only issues we had with our stay were very minor. Our room had a patio and since it's dog friendly, there was a used dog poop bag left out there as well as a good amount of dog poop smeared on the ground still. Our bathroom sink was also smelly when we walked in and then after taking a bath, we saw it filled up with dirt and debris from issues they were having with a room near us. They had to come to our room multiple times, but they fixed the problems within our first few hours of checking in. Overall, we will definitely stay here again. The restaurant and the entire staff were super friendly.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The condition of the room didn't rate a five star rating though. Although the room was clean, wallpater was peeling off the walls in the main part of the room and several places in the bathroom. The shower pan was also cracked and the shower door didn't seal shut all the way.

The room was nice enough. The bathtub seemed very dirty when we got in room but didnt process it. When we got back from dinner we noticed more dirt in tub. Over night when some one either above used toilet or shower it was bubbling back into our bathtub. Gross. By that time we were leaving in morning so not worth changing rooms

The property was very nice and clean. The location was perfect, near great food choices and other attractions. The bad thing was the street noise. We were on the fourth floor but not on the ocean side. The street noise was very loud and ran late into the night, making if difficult to sleep.

Gorgeous hotel! Loved the comfy bed and the spa bathroom that was very well appointed. The view and location right on the coastline make this hotel location extra special. Also appreciated the refillable water bottles and water/ice machines on each floor of the hotel. Very convenient to walk to dinner with several restaurants close to hotel.

Great quiet oceanside hotel near everything on Cannery Row. Stayed in a spacious comfortable room with a fireplace and ocean view. Enjoyed eating seaside in the courtyard. Perfect for a weekend escape, but you’ll want to stay longer. Wonderful staff made the visit exceptional.

Stayed for our 25th anniversary in the king delux with fireplace. Beds are very comfortable and bathroom is huge! Soaker tub and a separate large walk in shower. The overall room size is pretty small no refrigerator or microwave. There was a mini bar that we emptied out to store our drinks and then had to put everything back before we left. Kinda an inconvenience. Parking is $40 and they make you use a bellboy to bring up your bags. Overall it's a very nice hotel with just a few minor issues.

The hotel staff were all pleasant, and the building itself was clean and lovely. However, the walls seemed thin—I could hear the voices and TV sounds from the neighboring room, as well as footsteps from the floor above, which woke me up several times during the night. The bedding was also noisy and crinkly, which I found quite annoying.

Highly recommend this place! They were so kind and accommodating. It was our first overnight trip with our autistic little boy and everyone was so sweet and kind to him. They honored some special requests (nothing crazy, but still so helpful for us as parents) we made just to make transitions easier for him. Everything went perfectly smooth. Best staff ever!

Room amenities/features booked for were broken. They don’t tell you that you might be staying in the building across the street and it is not in the description when booking/ selecting a room which was incredibly difficult being disabled. When we tried to speak to someone at the front desk, the man was rude, condescending, and insulting about my disabilities. Positive note though, the valets especially Ricardo were the greatest! Kind, polite, and respectful don’t begin to do them justice!!

The pool was small and not what we were expecting. The front desk staff were rude and not helpful for a first time visitor. We had two toddlers with us after a long car ride and our items sat in cart for over 30 minutes and we were the only ones. I went down and started taking it they told me I couldn’t I said it has been awhile and we had babies. She said it will be up soon

You could not be any more central than staying here. The Aquarium is steps away and so are many cafes and restaurants. At first this had me worried about noise and parking, but the parking rate includes valet, which makes it super easy. And even though we stayed at street facing room by the elevator, we heard nothing in our room. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, I liked the refillable water bottles they offer. The only thing I can think of that could be better is the restaurant service at the restaurant at the bottom floor of the hotel. Not sure how closely they are associated with the hotel, but they were definitely lacking in comparison to the hotel (no water refills, took forever to wave someone down for the bill).

Great location if you want to be within walking distance of the Wharf but not stay on it. I particularly liked to proximity to the northern coastline as the trail is a lovely morning walk. Finally I did fine in the restaurant and had excellent service the waiter even remembered my previous drink order. Music was a bonus!

Highly Recommend! One of the very best hotels that we have visited in a long time! The property exceeded our expectations! Location was so convenient, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our room was wonderful, the balcony was right on the ocean and had a fireplace which was perfect for a two day birthday celebration. The restaurant was awesome. Cannot say enough about the staff who were all amazing! Definitely coming back !

The hotel is lovely and in perfect condition, very luxurious feel. Excellent staff and service. We stay here on a regular basis, and one area for them to improve is to deliver a breakfast plate that’s warm, with warm or hot food on the plate. It’s an ongoing problem here that toast is cold, potatoes are cold, the plate is cold, everything is lukewarm or cold. It’s typically overcast and chilly in Monterey in the mornings, and a plate of cold eggs and toast and potatoes and bacon is kind of a sad way to start a grey cold chilly day on the waterfront. Will somebody get the message to the manager to buy a plate warmer or double up on the heat lamps or something?

Bar and restaurant closed for wedding. Open area was insanely loud for hours in our ocean view room. Couldn’t even keep the window open.

The hotel was beautiful and all the staff were very nice. We also had dinner at their C restaurant. The food is DELICIOUS, and our waiter Devin was very nice and helpful. They upgraded our room to balcony Room and the view was breathtaking. Highly recommend the hotel.

Unfortunately we had to call for housekeeping as soon as we got to our room. There was hair in the tub and bathroom sink. Aside from that everything was absolutely perfect. The staff was very professional and friendly.

Everything is very nice and clean. Even the products they provide in the shower, which I don’t usually use, I did. The only reason why I’m not giving it five stars is because the AC doesn’t seem to cool down enough. Assuming it may have just been an issue with our room in particular.
