We had a wonderful stay at this hidden gem in a fantastic location. Historic building made it extra special - if you are looking for something a little different. We had a lovely room overlooking views of the Shard. Delicious chocolate cake for our anniversary was waiting to greet us in our room. Heated toilet seat was a nice luxury plus a great shower. Service was excellent- spa and bar were very good too. The highlight was the dinner in the stunning dining hall where the food was delicious- best Indian fine dining experience!

Unfortunately when we arrived the hotel had already closed for food , we had to order take out from a pizza place , breakfast was great and we toured areas around the hotel , Tower bridge, and Tower of London but when we arrived back to the hotel our room had not been cleaned and our keys needed reprogrammed again , I was not happy when you spend over $500 a night they should have rooms cleaned and they did know we were out as they ask you to hand in keys while out !!

Very clean and comfortable hotel with extremely welcoming staff . The bedding /towels were excellent. My only criticism is for 5 star hotel it was lack in guest services . The bar closed at 10.30 one night and early on the second night . There are no room services avail after 21.30! We requested an ice bucket and wine glasses be bought to our room ready for when we returned from a concert . It never arrived! We asked for our room to be made up as we left to go out for the evening at 18.00. It did not happen . We enquired about the breakfast menu , nobody could show us one ! They wanted £30 for an English breakfast but no details of what this included and again nobody could tell us . Therefore we did not eat at hotel . I enjoyed my stay but it is NOT 5star more 4. There are many other hotels in London to chose so unfortunately will not return despite the warm welcome and comfort

Unique, boutique hotel in an old school building. Indian themed decor, friendly staff and amazing central location. 10 min walk to London Bridge station connects you to rail and underground. River front is 2 min walk and is rewarded with great views of Tower of London, Tower bridge. Walk to Tower Bridge. Taking tube from Heathrow required changing lines to get here. Restaurant closes at 10 pm with last orders at 9:30 pm. Food was excellent.

I have stayed at Lalit a few times, because of the beautiful rooms and convenient location. A short walk from London Bridge station, Lalit is situated close to the South side of Tower Bridge. You can explore many sights from here. The service is excellent. The building is an old school, dripping with character, and tastefully decorated with a fusion of English and Indian style. Because of its age, the walls are very solid, so you don't hear any noise from other guests. Rooms are very good quality. Plenty of drinks, snacks and toiletries are provided. The spa has recently reopened, but I haven't tried it (yet).

The hotel has big comfortable rooms, mini bar is included, breakfast was very tasty. The services at check in and check out are not suitable for a 5 stars hotel. When I arrived, there was no one, I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come. At check out I asked to check out at 13 because I had booked a treatment at the spa, the personal that was at reception the day before told me there is ok, on the day of the departure they told me its impossible so I had to leave the hotel full of massage oil. By the way the tell you that you have 15% percent at the spa treatments but they add you service charge and you arrive at the same price. Overall the hotel is nice but they have to be more careful with this things.

Service was great, room was wonderfully decorated with gorgeous high ceilings and bathroom was just absolutely excellent. The only disappointing thing was that the room was infested with flies and there were rows of dead flies on window sills which frankly left the huge windows looking… not so great. We were only there from late in the evening and leaving early in the morning so we saw no point in taking more time to address this until the morning. I mentioned it to the front desk in the morning and all we received was an apology for it. That was underwhelming too, especially for a 5 star hotel. I would’ve expected a little better but the stay was overall still lovely if you ignore the infestation. I would stay there again but would be careful about cleanliness.

Our room was very nice, but I have a bad allergies, and so cleanliness is very big for me. It was very warm during our stay so we used the AC and it was making me sneeze. When getting into bed in the evening, my allergies were going and I felt sniffly, and so I must have disturbed some dust in the mattress or bedding when getting in. I was sneezing all morning after waking up which is really disappointing, given what you normally expect for a 5 star hotel. As well, we specified that my partner has a gluten allergy in the booking, and the hotel staff did kindly leave a cake in the room for our stay as a complimentary item, however it was definitely not gluten free, and none of the other items in the room were gluten free. For this level of hotel, you do expect things to be done correctly and so while the gestures were kind and staff were friendly, it did fall flat The main positive I can call out was their breakfast, especially the Indian food items which were exceptional, however the room is the main part, and it was certainly a let down

Beautiful hotel with a warm welcome on arrival. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom and a good selection of drinks, biscuits and crisps in the room. Hotel room was clearly not the room we picked when booking, actually nothing like it, It was tiny in comparison, the window had a view of a block maybe 10 feet away. There was staines and a pubic hair on bed cover.

Lovely hotel with spacious and spotlessly clean bedrooms. Our only negative experience is that on our day of check out we thought we would have a drink at the hotel bar before heading home. We had been perusing the drinks on offer for a few minutes without being acknowledged so we asked the barman if the bar was open (it had gone midday) and he said it was supposed to be but he wasn’t ready. He was completely indifferent and gave no indication of how long we might need to wait so we left and went to one of the nearby pubs instead. Utterly bizarre!

Excellent hotel. Clean, modern, staff is extremely pleasant. The bedroom was spacious, and the mini bar was not an additional charge. Let me tell you: they had nespresso, cookies, chips, coca, sprite, water. Refillable. I thought that was a pleasant surprise, in a world where hotels charge for every single thing. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location of this property was absolutely excellent. It is right at the south end of the tower bridge. It is about a seven minute walk from Borough Market, which is an interesting market and has tons of food options. It is close to a couple of small grocery stores to be able to get water and other essentials. I stayed in a junior room, and it was very spacious, especially for London. It was very very quiet. The staff were helpful. The only minor inconvenience was that the sink in the bathroom is very small. I would definitely stay here again. In fact, I just booked a day when I have Monday. Convenient without being in a super busy area.

The room was very clean and the bed, although only a standard double, was comfortable. It was a bit dark in the room but there were nice complimentary soft drinks and snacks. The heated toilet seats were an added luxury. We drank at the bar and had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast. The staff were all polite but we found the service very slow e.g had to wait quite a long time for drinks to be brought over and the restaurant was nearly empty. In The morning at breakfast, despite staff being around, empty dishes were not cleared from our table until we were leaving even though we started having to pile plates up. The food however was very good and we enjoyed our stay.

I have stayed in London hundreds of times for work and always thought Lalit was a bit out of the way - nonsense! 5 mins to London Bridge tube (15 mins to Bond Street) but also a few minutes walk to the bustling south bank and all the restaurants by Tower Bridge. A beautiful hotel, the staff were very attentive and as in the old St Olaf's grammar school lovely architecture. Room was quiet, bright and large all very well decorated. Large bathroom and one of the best showers I have ever stood under! I would highly recommend.

Check-in was excellent and got a free upgrade to a beautiful and spacious room! Choose this hotel over other hotels in the area mainly for it's history and character and it's close proximity to Borough Markets! Cannot find fault in the breakfast - amazing! After breakfast (around 9 am), I settled my account and advised Vikram, Assistant Front Reception Manager that my transport will arrive at 11:30 am and that I will be in the room doing last minute packing. Their staff needs to be provided more training on an ongoing basis so situations like this does not occur. A beautiful stay in London, ended with a disappointing stay this hotel.
Check-in was excellent and got a free upgrade to a beautiful and spacious room! Choose this hotel over other hotels in the area mainly for it's history and character and it's close proximity to Borough Markets! Cannot find fault in the breakfast - amazing! Incredibly unfriendly staff. I felt my checking was an inconvenience to them as maybe it was just me and just one night. They talked down to me and having stayed the night before at another 5-star hotel in London (Hotel 41) it was night and day. Other than the grand hall, everything else just felt a bit dated and poorly tended. The room was advertised as having a nespresso machine, which is great apart from there being no nespresso. There was one small towel and requesting a second took ages to arrive.

Very clean and comfortable hotel with extremely welcoming staff . The bedding /towels were excellent. My only criticism is for 5 star hotel it was lack in guest services . The bar closed at 10.30 one night and early on the second night . There are no room services avail after 21.30! We requested an ice bucket and wine glasses be bought to our room ready for when we returned from a concert . It never arrived! We asked for our room to be made up as we left to go out for the evening at 18.00. It did not happen . We enquired about the breakfast menu , nobody could show us one ! They wanted £30 for an English breakfast but no details of what this included and again nobody could tell us . Therefore we did not eat at hotel . I enjoyed my stay but it is NOT 5star more 4. There are many other hotels in London to chose so unfortunately will not return despite the warm welcome and comfort

Beautiful hotel in a great area. Would definitely recommend the restaurant. Room wasn't ready when promised it would be. Asked for an iron and it was never delivered. It was such a shame as a lovely hotel service could have been better. It wasn't busy so I wonder what the service would be like if it was busy.

Another excellent stay at the hotel. I had the same room which was immaculately clean, comfortable, beautiful decor with well-stocked fridge and hot drinks. I tried the cocktails in the stunning bar this time. The service by Vinoy was friendly and professional and the drinks were unusual and really delicious. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel for a relaxing stay

Didn’t receive service worthy of a five star hotel. Went to eat dinner at the in house restaurant and saw a rodent after we had ordered our meal. I asked for our order to be cancelled as I didn’t want to eat after what I had witnessed. That seemed to be an issue and they were not happy. The check in was abrupt and I was told absolutely zero about the hotel. I was given one room key, so I asked for another. That seemed to be an issue and the second room key didn’t work. Room service ends at 21:30. The room I had booked was nice. The level of service is not worthy of a five star hotel. Great location if you are visiting London. Right on the riverside and tower bridge is less than a five minute walk away. The property looks really nice but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and our room was very clean, smelled good, and had great bedding and linens. The staff were friendly and quiet. The hotel felt warm and inviting and we looked forward to leaving the hotel and being a short stroll to the river. This hotel feels far from some of the other sites but it was a welcome retreat for us annd felt safe to walk to even later in the evening. It was easy to grab bus or subways a short distance away as well.

This hotel is beautifully designed and in amazing location. You are literally a block from the River Thames and Tower Bridge. London Bridge train and tube stations are a 5 minute walk. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Location 10 min from London Bridge train and underground. Walk to the corner of the block you get a different view of tower bridge than usual. Great view of the shard from bedroom window which must be great at Xmas when it’s all lit up. Great room, excellent shower and a ‘Japanese’ loo. Friendly staff, conversion of old and large school sympathetically done, so a different hotel from usual hotels in this area. The only thing I would change is that I didn’t check for a king sized bed, I’d assumed with such a spacious well fitted out room it would contain a king size bed. Could recommend thus hote enough, a great find

Our five-night stay at the Lalit London met all of our expectations. We chose Lalit as we used to live a few streets over and knew this to be the perfect location - a short walk to London Bridge Station, the Thames and Hays Galleria, Bermondsey Street for restaurants, coffee & art and close to the Ropewalk/Maltby St. Market. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored grammar school, updated in sumptuous Indian decor. Although centrally located, the hotel is very quiet inside. The staff are professional, polite and very helpful. The room is well appointed with all of the needed amenities, including excellent in-room coffee. There are plenty of closet storage space and overhead closet lighting. Everything was spotlessly clean in our bedroom and bathroom. The toiletries were top notch. The only improvement I can think of is better lighting in the bathroom for applying makeup. The spa is definitely worth a visit - the highly trained professional masseuse Mukesh gave the most wonderful body and facial massage I have ever had anywhere! A relaxing and rejuvenating treatment to help with the jet lag. A special thank you to the staff who assisted in posting internationally a left item in my hotel room. I also appreciated the chocolate Anniversary cake awaiting in our room upon arrival. The little touches go a long way. Thank you for a lovely week!

Wonderful stay in a very comfortable hotel in a perfect part of London. The restaurant is a very authentic Indian and some of the best dishes I have tasted. Rooms are spacious and all drinks/snacks are complimentary and will be replenished whenever needed. The loos are hi-tech and will leave your bottom clean and fresh. The only small annoyance is no bar snacks at what is a lovely bar (bring the crisps down from your room). The location is perfect with the Ivy Tower Bridge close by and a Browns also not far away overlooking the Thames and many other bars and restaurants and attractions.

We stayed for our wedding anniversary. What a well run place we've discovered. We were made very welcome. They gave us a beautiful suite which was a welcome surprise. The cocktails in the bar were out of this world. Kalum deserves a pay rise! The breakfast too. What a delight. We tried some of the Indian options, and boy were we pleased we did. What a memorable and charming place to stay. We loved having a Toto toilet in the room too.

It is unclear where the hotel reception is as there were no staff to great and direct you and there is no obvious front desk and the staff did not seem especially interested. Beautiful building and beautiful room. The Indian breakfast is a must try! Absolutely delicious! We found the entrance a little odd. No welcome in the entrance hall, had to look for reception. Loads of extras in the bedroom, soft drinks, crisps, biscuits and plenty in the bathroom, everything you could possibly need. (Unfortunately my dressing gown had two holes in it) All in all, would definitely recommend and would stay again.
