The hotel and rooms were extremely clean and up to date. It was a bit of false advertisement, the hotel description boosted of trails, bikes, a pool and a gym. There were three pieces of equipment in the gym and only one worked properly. The other two were dangerously broken. There wasn’t a trail And the bikes you had to rent through a third-party company There was a $21 resort fee, but the only thing that really comes with a resort that they had was the pool The staff were very rude and extremely frustrated when having to explain any and everything. It was like it was a big inconvenience to answer any additional questions you had. But imagine the confusion with hidden fees and missing amenities

It was safe and clean. Breakfast bar was wonderful. Pool was very nice.

Had a room across from the pool. Very noisy. They had cornhole boards but were in the mud and had no bags. No paper towels or dish soap to clean the plates. Front staff needs to be a little more friendly. The room was a nice size. Very clean. Morning breakfast was good and changed every day. 24 hour coffee was nice too

Price for the stay. Super clean and rooms were spacious but bathroom is a bit on the small side. The staff wasn’t friendly at check in and the gym needs major upgrades. The gym was extremely hot, the treadmill didn’t incline, there were no free weights, and the weight machine was broken and rigged up for guests to use which is unsafe.

Everything seemed newly updated, was clean, and the pool and hot tub were nice. Definitely recommend.

Need a larger fitness room

Great place. Very spacious and accommodating. Very nice pool and hot tub. Kitchenette! Makes longer stay as possible. Comfortable bed and bathroom. Very clean!

Everything super close ! Didn't like: smell in the room mostly, mold upstairs bathroom and roaches on the room which I know you can't help with it being down south

Palmera Inn and Suits has to be the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed in. The rooms and common areas are spotless. The breakfast was great and the breakfast room is well staffed and they are always around bringing out more food and keeping the area clean. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. We have stayed here a few times now and are always pleased. We will stay here again.

Room was spotless, the whole resort was. Convenient to a lot around. Staff was courteous. The breakfast was very good with great variety. The staff maintained the food constantly. I would definitely stay here again.

We killed roaches in the room.

couldn’t use the pool, due to inclement weather. I didn’t see any staff, except for the woman that checked me in. She was pleasant. Room was clean, however, there was hair on the shower wall. The king bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room was quiet.

I was impressed with how clean my room was. And I am not easy to impress with cleanliness. So that is saying a lot.

Overall the property isn’t horrible but for $50 more per night I would stay elsewhere. The newly renovated rooms are okay but look like they were renovated over old things, example new shower glass put on top of old shower pan. There was rust and mold spots that had silicone over them. The room was okay on cleanliness, but did have a roach crawling on the wall. Outside of the building is not maintained to any degree. Hallways smell horrible and have spiderwebs everywhere. Sub par overall and should charge less for this type of setup.

Excellent place to stay. We had a loft king suite which was very spacious. The breakfast offered was very good. This is our new favorite place to stay on Hilton Head Island.

Beds were terribly hard and uncomfortable

Rooms were nice and big. Thin walls and could hear everything. Yummy breakfast. Pool area was nice.

Really nice mid range hotel, very convenient location in the middle of the Island, we had two queen size beds, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Breakfast is included, clean place, again, the room is was really nice. I would for sure stay there again!

This was our 2nd visit, and we just love the loft units. 2 bathrooms and 2 TVs comes in quite handy! We also enjoy the fact that if the weather is cooperating, the outdoor pool and hot tub will still be open. The free parking and breakfast is another major draw, as is the location near Coligny Beach and the shopping plaza. I even get to enjoy my coffee on a balcony.

The loft style room was not well thought out. The bed was upstairs and did not have anywhere to store clothing nor did provide enough space for luggage. All clothing had to remain downstairs which made it inconvenient when getting out of the upstairs shower and having to go downstairs to get dressed or take down worn clothing. If I stay at this hotel again, I would opt for a different style room.

The service was good. the room was quiet and clean. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable since I sleep on a soft mattress at home. The door to the bathroom was a sliding door which did not close tightly; thus, noise and light would be emitted. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and pans, etc.

The staff were incredibly courteous and kind. They all greeted us and asked us if we needed anything even when they were clearly engaged in completing another task. The rooms were very clean and well stocked. Very private and there were multiple safery latches on the door in case you have a wandering child or personal safety concerns. The kitchen was very handy and saved us a lot of money wasted on food the toddler would probably not eat anyway. There were two burners and a full refrigerator plus a dishwasher, dish and silverware setting for 4 in our double queen with pot and pan and spatula and cooking spoon. Any supplies you ran out of could be requested from the front desk including towels and extra dishwasher soap. The laundry facility functioned well. The dryers were super fast. I only needed 20 of 55 minutes to dry our loads. I was able to do a quick post beach load in about 50 minutes. Ample space to spread out and sleep. Single mom with a toddler and a preteen and they did great in this space. We enjoyed the pool as well but we spent more time at the beach than pool side. Easy to get to any of the beaches but clearly Coligny Beach is the best per my kiddos. You can ride the trolley there, rent bikes or drive there in about 5 minutes.

Location is very close to everything. There is no room service. You leave your towels in the hallway and go down to the front desk to pick up clean towels. The security doors to the floors are not locked like they should be. Coffee is out 24 hours. Some breakfast mornings have a better selection than others. The major problem was a staff member. She was very rude and unwelcoming when we checked in. We explained that there would be a service dog with us. She wanted to question what the dog was with us for, and what kind of medical condition did the person have? One of us lost a room key twice. The second time the same lady told us she wasn’t giving us another key. She would let him in the hallway, but she was not opening up the door. He did finally get in. I suggest front desk training for new hires be required. Had we been greeted in a polite welcoming way our whole perspective of the stay at the hotel would have been more positive. Because of her, we wouldn’t stay again. I read other reviews that also spoke of the staff at the front desk. The evening staff was much more professional.

The hotel on the outside looks very outdated and run down, when you enter the building there is an old “nursing home” smell. The walls and ceilings inside the room still have that old popcorn texture so it still has that outdated feel, however the furniture appliances and bathroom are updated nicely and very clean. The check-in staff was very not welcoming, but avoided eye-contact, demanding and not pleasant. After check in a lady stopped us and was trying to get us to sign up to come to some 1-hour presentation which was pretty annoying. I mean come on… you verbalized that we seemed rushed because we are only staying for 1 night… but you continue to hold us back and trying to get us to waste even more time to listen to come presentation… if you see that guests are not interested, just let them go. The breakfast was not good at all. Eggs taste like plastic, coffee is watered down. I was thankful for at least descent biscuits, pancakes and apples. The ladies hosting breakfast were very pleasant, and checkout was fast and simple, thank you! Overall the clean room made it worth the stay but there’s a lot this hotel needs to work on.

The reception staff aren’t at all friendly, but the rest of the staff are great! No incorrect or unfriendly words are used by reception staff, but… they couldn’t make it more clear they don’t want questions and just want to get through stating all of the information needed so you can leave, and even simply re-state a phrase exactly if you ask a clarifying question. The atmosphere on the lobby and breakfast area is good, clean, and updated. The same improvements would go a long way in the other buildings (popcorn ceilings, rickety and cosmetically damaged elevators). And while the rooms look nice and are updated by all appearances, the beds clearly haven’t been upgraded in decades. The frames in our room were noisy anytime you moved, and harder than any bed I’ve been in. I liked the convenient mini-kitchen and the little coffee maker for a quick cup anytime without a trip to the lobby, complete with powdered creamer and sweeteners. The room itself and the bedroom were well lit and blackout curtains kept it nice and dark. Breakfast was really great! Every option is not the best food you’ve ever had, but the quantity of options more than make up for that. They have hot items, fresh bread, a pancake-making conveyor belt, healthy cereal and yogurt options, and even some great drink options. And I love that coffee with decent creamers is available all day.

The rooms were great (though the beds were so hard it was sleeping on the floor), the breakfast was great. The guy at the front desk (he just moved there) was awesome. The woman was sooooo rude. She was short and snippy, I asked her to tell me how much the deposit was (that wasn't listed on Expedia) BEFORE she ran my card and didn't listen, team it twice causing my card to decline twice, didn't give information about breakfast or anything. I know it snowed two days before and they were not used to it BUT after having notice it was going to snow, then TWO days later, the walkway from the handicap spot to the front door was a thick block of ice. Just ice. The poor guy at the front desk was out there at 10pm chipping it away by himself so noone got hurt. How irresponsible of the company can you be. Then, there was someone across the hall going in and out of the room, hammering something, stomping, opening and slamming the door until well after three in the morning. And then there was a guest with socks? Wrapped around his neck, sucking on a pacifier (maybe his kids?) pacing the parking lot on his phone. It was a terrible stay.

Great service

The girl who checked us in needs to get a new job! She was not nice or friendly! Terrible check in experience! We loved the property, but our first impression upon arriving was not great!! Reconsider your staff! The breakfast needs a lot of help! We did enjoy our room & would recommend this property.

The room was clean though the property needs upgrades, like the elevators and the carpeting in the hallways, stairs and stairwells need painting. The staff at the front deskneeds were totally unwelcoming. They looked at us like they couldn't care less why we were there. No warm greetings, and addressed us with a cold hello rather than "how can I help you". They all need to be properly trained in customer service. Their facial expressions showed total disinterest sad to say.

Enjoyed time spent at this location, was very close to the beaches, bike rental, and restaurants. Room was very nice and the kitchen was a plus, definitely worth it. My kids enjoyed the pool it was well kept.

Clean and well staffed. Close to attractions but not in busy area.

Great price (for HHI), convenient location, nice amenities. Not the highest quality accommodations, but very affordable and well worth the price. I only come for the annual car show for 2-3 days and I just need a convenient, comfortable place to crash each night, this place works great for me.

This hotel is in a great location. It is one mole from shelter cove & 2 miles from coligny.

Good hotel overall. Improvements needed regarding pool. It was temporarily closed because the water had recently been treated. This should have been done before the pool opened at 9A instead of 15 minutes after it opened. It wasn’t swimmable until 9:30 which affected our morning plans. We paid $50 extra for a resort fee so it should be ready to go. Breakfast bar was only OK but the coffee was poor as was the cheap coffee provided in our room.

This place is OK if you’re on a budget. It’s a little dated and old-fashioned. breakfast is very basic, staff is very accommodating .

We only stayed in the room one night! I wished we had booked our 3 days here. The room was very nice! Extremely spacious for just the two of us. Very clean, modern room. Bathrooms were very clean. Comfortable bed. Very quiet! Plenty of parking spaces. My only dissatisfaction was the breakfast choices.

Undisclosed pet fee. Extra 130 dollars added to three night stay, only tell you when your checking in. A 2 star hotel, rooms clean and modern but breakfast is just powder eggs.
