When we first arrived at check in, we were made aware that the property was under renovation. They warned us that it may be loud beginning at 8:00 am. That was never a major issue. The first night was fine. The beds were comfy and the room was clean enough. However, the water to the building was cutoff in the middle of the night on our second right without warning. We could not take showers, flush the toilet or brush our teeth. My daughter’s friend, who was traveling with us, ended up getting a stomach bug that same night, which you can imagine is not ideal when you can’t flush the toilet. The hotel offered bottles of water and their toilet to use in the main building (which you had to drive to). There was no option for showering. The water had still not been repaired by the time we checked out over 24 hours later. I am certain if we had not had to deal with the water issue and construction, the stay at this hotel would have been a good experience.

Didn't appreciate the unexpected charge to park on the gravel outside. I've stayed at expensive hotels with parking garages and they don't charge you to park. Plus when comparing prices on Hotels.com and similar sites, you don't expect to show up and be told the price is different.

We stayed for the weekend Aug 2nd- Aug 4th. On Google it seemed as though the property is close to the beach, that is the reception check in center. The hotel part is close to the back. You drive in to check in then head to the back of the property, which was a bit misleading. Adults and older kids would be fine for the walk but my younger ones could not. Especially, coming back from a day at the beach. The continental breakfast was good , down side is having to walk to the main building to get it. It was fine on days that were not raining but definitely inconvenient if it was raining. Overall it was an ok stay. The pool and outdoor area games was nice. My kids enjoyed finding the turtles in the pond. The hotel is also currently going under major renovations which would have been nice to know. During the week there will be construction going on 8:00 am to 5:00 I believe she said.

The Holiday Inn Express was undergoing construction. The construction area resulted in a fair number of parking spaces being unavailable. (After I reserved the hotel I did receive a notification from the hotel - via Expedia- that construction was taking place at the hotel.) One of the two elevators was not functioning on Saturday July, but I believe it was fixed after a few hours. The front desk staff were very friendly.

Hotel room was very clean, staff was super friendly. breakfast was delicious. Part of the hotel was under construction. SO there was two buildings to commute between. Loved the pool area and entertainment. I will most definitely book a stay again.

Hotel is under renovation and that comes with hard to find parking, lots of noise during the day and a mess to get in and out of hotel. The reception is in a different building about 1/4 mile away and breakfast also in the different building (not in the hotel). The hallways are super dirty. We had a fire alarm test that lasted about 2 hours…

The room smelled moldy, and the rug was dirty . The shampoo container did not work in the bathroom along with no extra toilet paper.The roll we had was 1\\3 full. When on the ground floor,the odor was that of cat or human urine.

When I first got there I was not aware the hotel was being renovated and the pool was out of service along with the fitness center and other amenities. My family and I were so exhausted from a 16 hour drive we were just so happy to lay down and rest, but then unfortunately we found bugs in our bed after investigating it was definitely BED BUGS!! After brining this to the front desk attention and asking to speak with the Manager as I brought the bug down in a ziplock bag I was so embarrassed to even show them and speak with them they had told me the manager was in a meeting a gentleman that look like maintenance came to the front to inspect the bug and threw it in the garbage and proceeded to speak with the front desk staff and said there is no manager here. The front desk staff did not know how to communicate and did not speak or respond to any of our concerns they handed us a room key and that was it.. I figured out myself they gave me another room when I got to the new room we looked at both of the mattress beds to come and find a big blood stain on the corner of the bed at this point I was not happy and did not feel comfortable staying there with two young kids, I packed all my things and went to the front desk to check out and ask for a refund due to all of this… I still have not gotten a refund or a call as the manager states he needs to investigate this! There is nothing to investigate I brought the bug down that I found in the bed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff is excellent. Kind and very friendly. Being in the middle of trees, ponds and wildlife, it had a very peaceful feel. The pool was great also. Best of all it is a mere 10 minute walk to the amazing beach boy to mention a ton of food options. My one complaint was that the air conditioning was not great. Despite having it set at the lowest temperature, the room never got cool and felt very humid.

The renovations are just what Holiday Inn needed!!! The new check in and breakfast locations are great. We have always loved the front desk staff. If I could recommend 1 thing it would be doors that close more quietly. The slamming each morning dozens of times was a bit frustrating. We still love you Holiday Inn we just like our am sleep 😊

Would not stay here again. Check in took forever because neither people working the desk seemed to know how to work the computer and then at 1 in the morning we were abruptly woken up by two kids and a women barging in our room because the front desk checked them in to our room…. The next morning we locked out of our room because apparently they deactivated all keys attached to our room. When I informed the front desk of this incident the next morning they offered to wave the resort fee for the night… so we got $30 discounted on our stay, which did not feel adequate.

Room was nice, clean. Coffee pot didn't work so just went to breakfast and had a fabulous cup of coffee. The air conditioner didn't ever shut off, but couldn't be repaired. Tamara at the front desk is a fabulous customer service person, who should probably promoted

I loved the parking, it\'s so close. It\'s a small property so it\'s easy to come and go. I loved the open air breezeways throughout the hotel. It\'s an older property but they\'ve done a good job remodeling and keeping it fresh. The pool area was great, they even had musical entertainment. The front desk staff was curt and unsympathetic. We got there at 4pm. check in time and they told us our room wasn\'t ready. We were tired from driving and ready for our room but said "okay so when do you think it will be ready" to which they replied, we don\'t know and can\'t give you a time". So I asked "are we talking about two hours three hours, four hours" and they said "we don\'t know, you\'ll just have to leave your phone number and we will call you when it\'s ready" I had these reservations for at least a month, so was very frustrated when we had no idea when we could get in our room. The front desk ladies were snippy and unsympathetic. So we walked to the beach and round the island for a while, went back and finally checked in about an hour and a half later. FYI, the check in desk is NOT on the actual hotel property, you have to check in there then drive a few blocks to the property. The breakfast is also at the check-in location, not the hotel property, but it\'s a very short walk. The location is fabulous, within walking distance to everything. Had our check in circumstances been better I would have given it a great score !

Friendly staff informed us at check in about ongoing construction. Lobby is torn up but property is clean and very accessible. Clean and comfortable room. Nice pool. Breakfast was good. Staff very accommodating. Close to beach. With staff having set proper expectations we had a very nice stay.

I requested to extend my checkout time and the front desk said I could do so for an extra hour; however, the cleaning ladies kept coming by my room asking me was I checking out. I might as well checked out at the regular time because I didn't get any rest or time to get myself together without feeling rushed after it was already confirmed my checkout time was extended. The last lady that came by knew it was extended but still felt the need to bother me and remind me it was 11:30am.

Sets the bar for pet friendly hotel. We’ve come here a few times now and the new renovations have really made it excellent. Breakfast is phenomenal for what it is. Great location to beach and plaza. Will come back every year. Only negative I would say is gym equipment is lacking a little. Still has enough for a workout, but could use some pull up bars/ cable machines/ elliptical etc

Hotel is currently under renovation if going during the week be prepared for construction noise . Breakfast area air conditioners were out there was 6 portable units still hot. Only 1 elevator was working so checkout time it took 20 minutes for people to leave 4 and 5th floors

The bathroom was not clean and had several strands of hair in the floor. Saturday morning breakfast there was no milk at all. Children were eating cereal without milk. We mentioned to the front desk. The gentleman at the desk was nice but breakfast wasn’t aweful and the other employees when asked for milk shrugged at us.
