The Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City

The front desk attendees were kind and helpful. Honestly, was a bit let down with the valet service as we pulled around and they did not acknowledge us or greet us after we sat a bit. It felt a bit awkward, so we ended up parking ourselves in the garage. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the area was perfect. Will stay again.

This did not feel like a Ritz at all. Location was great bc it’s connected to a mall and Metro station. There is no pool or spa. This property is pretty run down and in desperate need of renovation.

The hotel staff was exceptional in their service, professionalism, and courtesy. The security and valet service were an extra plus. I also enjoyed the shopping mall connected to the hotel property.

Just the best! Quite a bit of construction going on so approaching is confusing at the moment.

Loved the Ritz Carlton . It was my first. The 5 star experience is something I could get use to. The only thing I didn’t like was that the 18th floor there was a free executive club if you paid for the executive club use, which I did . They kept asking what room we stayed in to verify we belonged up there- but they didn’t ask the other guests that. It kinda put a damper on the experience . All the other staff were nice though. Check in was a breeze and so was check out. The location is great because it’s near a mall and also major DC attractions. Parking was easy offsite. You can get 24 hour parking for $20. There are a lot of different types of restaurants. The hotel is in general clean. Some toilets weren’t flushed when we entered and the room was a little outdated but it was still very glamorous.

When we arrived we felt out of place. We were given our room on the 5th floor. When we commented on the sewer smell we were told that they were working on it and it would improve. By the morning I felt like throwing up and had a very bad headache. When I called the front desk, they asked me again to be patient and it would improve. When I explained that the smell was making me ill, they moved us to the 4th floor. The smell was a bit better but still present. We were on our way out when we met Anita, what a breath of fresh air she was compared to the other individual we were dealing with. She gave us a map of the area, tourist activities and directions. The next day she asked how it went, took time to listen and made us feel like family. She took great care of us and our grandson everyday we were there. When she was off for the day we were sad she was not there to greet us. She was absolutely amazing!!! The other ladies and gentlemen were as well, but Anita went above and beyond!!! We will never forget her. The Valet service was outstanding. All were very accommodating. However, Ashagrie, the Guest Arrival Expert, very helpful and took great care of us daily. Providing us not only with great service but paid extra attention to our grandson (2 yrs old) listened to him when we returned, gave him high fives and fist bumps. There was another gentleman who's name began with an "R" but I don't remember it. He came and told us goodbye on his last shift. We will be back again!!

The AC unit was noisy, there was other peoples clothing in the room. The mini fridge was was full of thing for sale, Instead empty for guest use.

Beautiful, clean and amazing service. Solomon, Maria, Hannan, Sherman and Robert are the names of some of the great staff. I would come back.

We visited friends in DC just before Christmas. Treated ourselves to staying here. Lovely super clean room, super quiet, will come again and recommend to anyone.

Opened door, very foul smelling like body odor and curry cooked soaked place. Called and complained, and wanted refund, property owner refused, and now I’m out $800. Stay away from this place, the owners will not do anything for you but take your money

Great staff, clean, and convenient

Do NOT STAY HERE. While the food, drinks and overall service were excellent. The room was just disturbingly outdated and old. The painted walls had a yellowish tint from age. There was rust around the handles in the shower, the bed was a frame with a wooden headboard GLUED TO THE WALL with grime on the wall from past guests. The bottom of the bed frame was visible - metal poles with wheels at the bottom, full of dust and just tacky. It was disgusting and not for the price that I paid. Worst Ritz that I have EVER stayed in and shameful to the brand name. NOT luxury or 5 star hotel. I want my money back. When I expressed my disappointment while checking out, the hotel’s attendant admitted that they stayed once and would NEVER STAY AGAIN.

The people made our stay worth it. They helped to create memories with my Mom and Daughter. We enjoyed our interactions with the Ritz Carlton team there and would definitely go back again for a staycation!

Check in was friendly, the checkout lady was rude. I checked out at around 6:30am on the 8th of August. The lady didn’t bother to ask how my stay was or nothing, seemed like she just wanted to get back to chitchatting with her male coworker. I handed her the keys and she said you’re all checked out. Stay at the Ritz a lot they normally seem friendlier.

The property never shared that they had an ongoing issue with their heating system. The room was freezing although the heating controls indicated that it should be warm. We called the front desk more than 4 times for help, but there was no answer. At 3:30a.m. we had to go to the front desk because the cold room temperature was unbearable. We had to wait for the cleaning person to find the front desk person, who told us that he would send maintenance to our room. The maintenance person arrived with a space heater for our room and explained that the main heater for the entire building had been broken for several days, which was later confirmed by hotel management. Our room cost $500 per night. At this price-point, and the quality that The Ritz-Carlton is supposed to represent, rooms should not have to have space heaters for warmth and the front desk personnel should be able to be reached 24-hours. Several years ago we had an issue at this exact hotel, and chose to try again since so much time passed. We made a HUGE mistake. Minimally, customers should be made aware of severe issues known to management prior to booking.

Surprised that the room did not have a safe for valuables. There is the spot but no lock. Expensive room for that being lacking. Did like the coffee expresso.

Overrall the property/staff/service was great. My friends and I stayed here because we were running the Marine Corps Marathon. The "complimentary" coffee didnt start until 630 am Due to an earlier start of our day because of the marathon we asked if coffee could be accessible a little earler, we were told no but we could order room service and have it delivered or a fee. We paid $26 for 3 coffees! Coffee that would be "complimentary" less rhan an hour later? Its not about the money..just the principle.

The hotel rooms are in need of significant maintenance, as they feel old and run down. The toilet struggled to flush properly, which was quite inconvenient. After turning off the sink, there was an odd noise from the water pipes. We were disappointed with the buffet this year, as it didn’t live up to our expectations from last time. I wanted to highlight a few points that could use attention.

It was terrible. Horrible food, banging in the middle of the night, wasn't ritz quality was more like Holiday Inn.

Very nice hotel stay. The Sante restaurant food was very good. Nice hamburger and ravioli. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. Good to be close to shopping
