We stayed here for 2 nights with 2 adults and 2 kids in December. Overall it was good. The pool gets heated to 89 degrees I think they said, and the hot tub was nice and hot too. The check in went super smoothly, we arrived early and they already gave us our room. The person chekcing us in was very nice and helpfull. All the doors work with a code, so you don't need a key. There is a grocery outlet across the street and all kinds of shopping and restaurants withing walking distance. The only not so great thing was the noise. Our ac was extremely loud, and you can hear the people above you..alot. There also wasn't much space to put your clothes etc, no dresser or anything and only 2 hooks in the bathroom for towels etc. The room in general was a tad small, especially for 4 people.

Nice pool and communal areas with large hot tub, cornhole and ping pong. Very nice atmosphere around the pool with ample seating, shade, and nice soft music. The hotel room was small and a bit lacking in general comfort and aesthetics (for example, broken handle on refrigerator, dried streaks of dripping paint on the back of the bathroom door, window AC unit made it cold for the person sleeping closest to the unit and warm for others). Easy, free parking. Fresh fruit in the lobby was nice. Location is good for the price, on the end of the main street. Overall, we liked our stay at The Dunes except we didn't love the room itself.

It looks like it used to be a Comfort Inn, and while there have been some updates, they feel a bit surface-level. The gym is very basic—mostly suited for cardio. There is a Peloton, which is a nice touch if that’s your thing, but the space is limited. It’s probably fine for one person or two if you’re working out together. On the plus side, the rooms are clean and some are quite spacious. Unfortunately, the beds leave a lot to be desired. They’re on thin aluminum frames and just not very comfortable, which really took away from the overall experience. The pool area is decent, with plenty of floaties available and some family-friendly lawn games like ping pong and cornhole. There are also board games in the lobby, which is a nice option for downtime indoors. The staff was not particularly warm or welcoming during my stay. It was a great stay, a lot of amenities with pool and hot tub and a game room. Only complaint is although the gym has a peloton row and a bike neither work. The row you can’t get up and running and the bikes resistance is messed up. Also queen rooms don’t have queen beds they are definitely doubles. Hot tub also doesn’t work, only stays on for 5’ and room lighting is dim. Despite this I would stay there again for the l Price and location is amazing.

This is a great place to stay, with easy access to SO much in Palm Springs! It’s a vintage Motel, and the staff is extremely hard working and diligent in keeping it tidy and welcoming. It’s dog friendly, although I must say that if you do bring your dog make sure it does not yip and scream bark for hours on end like SOMEONE’S dog did here! Lovely pool, delightful restaurants nearby.

I have no complaints , the staff were all friendly. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the price was great! The pool was awesome with a mixture of family and young singles. I felt safe with my own code to use to enter my room, the gym, the pool, the entire hotel. I will definitely be looking to return.

The reviews I read, ranted about how good the pool was. When I made my way to take a swim, the water was murky and did not look particularly inviting or clean. I think this comes from many rooms in a large hotel using the same pool, thus lots of individual body grime ending up in the water. The noisy AC unit in my room ran non stop the entire time, yet did not blow cool air. This made my one night stay a bit uncomfortable. Front desk staff was very nice. They also have loaner bikes which is a nice little bonus. The Dunes hotel is competitively priced for Palm Springs, just expect to get what you pay for.

Convenient to downtown and the airport. Common areas are clean and have been nicely updated. The rooms themselves are badly lacking. Tiling a shower in an old motel does not create a premium property no matter how one attempts to spin it. Noisy air conditioners seem to be original equipment. Stayed a week received only one day of housecleaning service. We won’t return.

The room was clean. There was a huge leak coming from the shower door and the floor got drenched but that was the only bad part. The outside pool area was really nice. There was plenty of room to find a spot to relax. The main issue we had was that they advertised a "grab and go market" but it was only a vending machine with few options. The staff was friendly and helpful and we loved the close proximity to town.

Parking was not easy. Didn't appreciate the cleaning staff opening our door at 10:30 A.M, but other than that, the stay was great. Clean pool, very local. The staff at the front were nice and friendly. The little store was helpful.

Awful hotel this 3rd time staying here. This time towels dirty with brown stains. Bed spread stain. The workers one of them make he was changing trash bin not welcoming. It took 20 mins for the shower to get hot. Mainly the dirty towels was a deal breaker for deal breaker

Hip, clean, quiet and close to everything. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Even during a busy weekend, I felt like I had the place to myself. Great AC and no issues with Wifi. Even got a late check-out for 1 pm.

Decent place but ac in room was so loud it was impossible to sleep. It sounded like an old school bus trying to start all night. It also was directed right on top of the bed so it felt like you were in a freezer. The only way to stop for some quiiet was to shut it off not ideal in palm springs. Other than thst the pla e is nice clean and staff nice..but need new quieter ac units for it to be worth it to stay.

Parking was easy. The location is fantastic. Outside of that, it’s an old motel that was updated. Beds comfy and shower was nice, but everything else feels pretty old. Our room had a view of an old cement wall. The pool is decent, and there is a mini gym and a little room to microwave food. The service varies a lot, the night staff was absolutely wonderful and the morning staff was very rude. The morning woman gave us a 30 minute extra late check out while we were packing our car, and we got locked out. I called and she was very rude and didn’t apologize or communicate well. So customer service varies a lot.

The location to downtown Palm Springs is excellent, definitely walkable. The rooms are small, really just enough room for the beds. There’s no couch or chair so you really don’t want to spend any time in your room and also the room is very dark so I would suggest that women bring a lighted make up mirror Because it really is too dark to even apply make up at the bathroom mirror.

Lots of parking. Walls are thin and not much lighting in the rooms. Staff is very helpful in bringing in an extra lamp to help with that problem. Good for a quick stay.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was good with the exception of no luggage rack and no dresser/drawers to put our cloths. AC was a bit difficult to control and the light over the door was out. There are no room keys, just combination locks, so was tough to see the combo without a light. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and the location was ideal for the function we attended.

Parking was easy. The location is fantastic. Outside of that, it’s an old motel that was updated. Beds comfy and shower was nice, but everything else feels pretty old. Our room had a view of an old cement wall. The pool is decent, and there is a mini gym and a little room to microwave food. The service varies a lot, the night staff was absolutely wonderful and the morning staff was very rude. The morning woman gave us a 30 minute extra late check out while we were packing our car, and we got locked out. I called and she was very rude and didn’t apologize or communicate well. So customer service varies a lot.

The Dunes is my new favorite spot in Downtown PS! Walking distance to everywhere I want to go… and a front desk who is AWESOME! I left my rental car key in my room after checkout and my friend at the front desk gave me a new entry code to retrieve my key. Friendliest place in town!

Check in was relatively easy. a little different than other hotels. but it wasn’t difficult to figure out. Staff was really kind and helpful. parking was easy and there were lots of spots through out the day. which was important to me. the rooms were cold at night ( a good thing) ac did its job. but tolerable during the day. which is understandable for the climate and age of the place. overall. it was a solid stay for an amazing price. especially since i bought it the day of my trip lol. also walkable to downtown bars.

Everything was wonderful from the time we checked in, which was early but we were able to hang by the pool and the front desk held our bags until we could check in. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely booking another stay here when I’m back in the area

The location is great, the pool is decent, and the staff was friendly. However, I would not stay here again simply because of their key/lock system. Instead of a regular key, guests are given a code used for the gates into the property and rooms. It’s a total nightmare! It often takes several tries to get the door to take the code. I saw and heard other frustrated guests typing in codes repeatedly upon returning to their room late at night. Our group joked that the doors just open for 1/5 attempts regardless of the codes. When explaining the situation to the friendly front desk person they said “sometimes it needs a few tries” with a shrug and grimace. Fair enough, but I sure as hell won’t be trying this place again.

Great location easy walk by restaurants & shopping. Service was simi friendly except for one of the staff members that was not happy with his job when we were checking in! Following day our door was left open after cleaning it. Unsure if we would stay here again!

There was no staff available when we arrived and we had to wait 45 minutes and search the property to find help. The front desk was unoccupied and all computers and doors were unlocked so anyone could have broken into the system and it felt incredibly unsafe.

The Hotel shares the parking lot with a strip mall. Parking was a nightmare. The staff told us to park in the strip mall. All good but a number of the parking stalls had no parking or reserved parking signs. Also, our room faced the strip mall and was noisy until the restaurant and bar closed for the night.

My group had three rooms the week after New years and we were motivated by price and location. I did sent a local friend to scope it out before hand. The lobby was very busy with people using the game tables for cards and other games provided by the hotel. The large fireplace was a treat in the cool of winter. We gathered there almost every day. The other areas outside were very nicely furnished the first being a long narrow lounge area on the side of the hotel ,walking toward the back a very large pool area with free cabana beds and lots seating. This area was removed from the lounge area which was nice for the sound level if you wanted to read and relax. in the very back was other water features again segregated from the pool area. NICE layout. The building has been renovated from what looks like an old motor lodge.I was worried about security of the rooms from the pictures but quite please to see all rooms were accessed through the lobby area and secured by large mid century block walls. The rooms were nicely appointed and very clean. Great shower and bed . After all those are the most important things . Very walkable to all downtown. Enjoy this little Gem

The Dunes Hotel was a wonderful place to stay in Palm Springs! It was conveniently close to everywhere we wanted to go, staff was very friendly and helpful! I loved the bikes they have for guests to use as well, a very fun way to get around :)

Great location, 1 block away from downtown Palm Springs. Literally hundreds of restaurants and shops and attractions within a very short walking distance. Safe and friendly town. Don't be fooled by the exotic pictures; this is a basic motel like a Motel 6. The pool area is quite nice, but otherwise there are basically no facilities. Even getting a decent cup of coffee when you wake up means getting dressed and driving to a coffee shop. Yes, there's a couple of restaurants nearby, but the proper downtown where you can get breakfast, etc, is a 10 minute walk (which you probably wouldn't want to do in the summer here.) Staff are friendly when they're around, but the motel seems to operate of shoestring staffing.

The hotel looks nice with some recent updates. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was hiking nearby within one mile. Be sure to try the Rooster and the Pig restaurant as well as the Desert Moon just across the parking lot. Both were fantastic.

I stayed one night at this hotel. The price was very affordable. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. Parking is free and there are bikes available to use at no additional cost. We used the bikes for a morning ride around the downtown area. The pool area was nice with plenty of chairs. The location is perfect for walking to downtown shops and restaurants.

Right off the main drag! Walkable to the Native American Museum as well. Clean and nice rooms. Did not use their pool and gym but looked great. Fridge in the room but microwaves in a common area with vending machine for sodas. Highly recommend this for couples or for families!

This is a cute, modern motel best suited to families looking for a good value and something for everyone. The decor is recently redone and there are lots of vibrant indoor and outdoor lounging spaces and active areas. Very comfy bed, pretty shower area and finishes, and mid-century-inspired touches. On the so-so side: the "Grab & Go" amenity is just a vending machine, and in my book, this is motel not a hotel. The room was clean. There was a huge leak coming from the shower door and the floor got drenched but that was the only bad part. The outside pool area was really nice. There was plenty of room to find a spot to relax. The main issue we had was that they advertised a "grab and go market" but it was only a vending machine with few options. The staff was friendly and helpful and we loved the close proximity to town.
