Mayan Playa Bacalar

The lagoon view is spectacular from inside the rooms. You can swim and kayak from a few steps from your cabin. It’s a safe, private hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always available to assist. They don’t have a restaurant only a small bar with limited access to order drinks but they will order food and deliver to your room promptly from local restaurants. Rooms are comfortable with great shower pressure, mini refrigerator, comfortable beds and AC that kept the room at a nice temperature at night.

Our goal was simple: relax, recharge, and spend quality time together. Maya Playa delivered on every level. One of my favorite touches was waking up each morning to fresh-cut fruit delivered by the staff. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful way to start the day. The team was incredibly attentive, and communication was always quick and seamless. No request was too small, and they consistently made us feel well taken care of. We also loved that amenities such as paddle boarding and kayaking were available for us to enjoy at no extra cost. It gave us the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure whenever we wanted it. Another highlight was the convenience of the tours. We booked an excursion, and the tour company picked us up directly from the property, making the entire experience effortless and stress-free. From the peaceful surroundings to the exceptional hospitality, Maya Playa exceeded our expectations. After just four days, it felt like we had discovered our own little piece of heaven on Earth. The lake view beautiful , very peaceful, clean room, staff very friendly, and the air conditioning works good.

The property is located just off the main highway, accessible via a short dirt road, offering a quiet and peaceful setting away from traffic. The lagoon area was also very nice and well maintained. The property itself was clean and well kept. The outdoor bar was a highlight, serving excellent ceviche and aguachile at very reasonable prices.

Mr.David was the most gracious host. I checked in very late, last minute and he greeted me with a friendly smile and when I asked if the tiki was open he said no BUT then went behind the bar (as the owner can) and found me a cold beverage after my long day of travel. And breakfast was delivered to my room the next morning again with a friendly smile. Room was spotless and in meticulous condition. Cannot wait to go back again. Mr.David was amazing, highly recommend to anyone who loves Bacalar.
