Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. the hotel is not downtown, but if you do have a car, it's only a few minutes drive. The spa is very small, but overall nice. A little disappointing that it's closed on Sunday. we've tried the restaurant twice, the food was good, it's overpriced (like everywhere in Iceland). The fish specifically was very fresh and good.

The small Spa was only open to 6 pm due to holidays . However very small considering the size of the hotel . I could not understand why was not open w/o personal for being just a small jacuzzi and a very small pool .

Loved the hotel spa that was the highlight of this stay (remember they are closed Sundays and require an appointment booking for a 1 hour time slot). The rooms had double beds and slept 4 comfortably, the washrooms were clean but a bit dated, I recommend showering downstairs in the hotel spa change rooms - very modern and clean! Parking was across the street and had multiple spots, loved the breakfast option since there isn’t a ton around! Would stay again!

Spa costs extra. Stay at the hotel and have to pay extra for pool and spa. Typical of Iceland’s super expensive costs. I would tell people planning on travelling to Iceland to bring an extra suitcase of money or just don’t go there. It’s really not worth it

The cleaning staff of the room didn't clean the room the first day and we had to ask them to do it and their answer was that they had to finish job in 5 minutes, so, they only changed the towels and empty trash cans. The reception staff was in general very nice and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay. Nothing fancy, but very clean and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We will definitely visit again. Wish it was closer to downtown, but other than that they were great. Breakfast was delicious!

Bara ekki ánægður. Komum á Hótelið til að njóta en því miður eru framkvæmdir í gangi svo nánast stanslaus læti alla helgina og líka sunnudag af iðnaðarmönnum að bora og slipa og byrjað til dæmis um kl.8.30 á laugardagsmorgni og líka sunnudag. Ískápur bilaður en honum skipt fljótt út, ónýt seta á Wc og ekki hægt að hleypa vatni niður úr baðkarinu og nánast ekkert vatn kom úr blöndunartækjum við handlaugina og fl. The Spa var frábært og öll önnur þjónusta ágæt en væri frábært ef það væri kannski einn á hótelinu sem gæti talað íslensku annar en næturvörðurinn. Já væri frábært ef hægt hefði verið að kaupa kaffibolla á hótelinu eftir að morgunmatur er búin nebb bara skilti LOKAÐ en tókum þá bara göngutúr niður á Hilton Hótel gott kaffi þar.

Property says they have air conditioning and they have a vent just no control over the fan or the temperature. The window barely opens so it doesn’t allow you to cool off the room and the room winds up being 85° when you sleep. When you wake up, maybe it cooled down to 70.

Nice property that is somewhat outside the city center, yet in a very convenient location, particularly nice and quiet on the weekend. I felt really welcomed by the check-in staff, but finding the room was a bit tricky as the signage on our floor wasn't really that great and the color scheme is rather dark - room staff helped us figure it out. Which also was the case in the room. The room felt renovated and is quite stylish, larger than many, and very well appointed. I loved the wireless charging from the lights for example. All the essentials are in place, a nice bathroom, a good bed, and a small refrigerator are all things I want in my hotel room. Unfortunately, the wifi wasn't really working properly, but I didn't really need it, so didn't miss it. Breakfast is a really lovely buffet selection. The location is kind of interesting as it's a busy business section of Reykjavik on weekdays, but nice and quiet on the weekends - which means lots of parking is available - not so on the weekdays. Easy access to the bus, a short walk to Laugardalur and everything that offers, and very convenient for Kringlan or Skeifan shopping and many restaurants within a short distance. Would stay again without hesitation.

Sehr freundliches Personal, leckeres Buffetfrühstück. Die Hotelbar und das Restaurant waren immer gut besucht. Mir war das Zimmer nachts zu warm und die Matratze zu weich. Eine Klimaanlage gab es in dem Zimmer nicht, nur ein kleines Fenster konnte angekippt werden.

One of the stiffest most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in, combined with very few pillows (also very thin pillows), made for a really rough night. Room was also very warm, and we couldn’t cool it down much by opening the window. They did give us a fan upon request, but it barely helped.

Outstanding service in almost everything. Helping in early check in, staff very helpful in booking dinners or tours. Helpful in making changes to our tours by working with other vendors. (2) young girls at the counter very prompt, fast in providing any service requests with smile. Food quality very good at the restaurant with excellent service. We had zero complaints. Hotel has limited parking but open spaces in front streets and all around was not an issue for us. Great experience and definitely would go back at the same place.

Great stay overall. The continental breakfast was amazing. The hotel does not have a way to control the thermostat and so it did get quite warm in the room even with the little window open. Shout out to David for helping save our trip after our tour was canceled. Great recommendations for where to go and what to do. We’d stay here again and will recommend to others

Very helpful front desk. Patricia and Carlos are two of the names I remember, but others were helpful as well. Thank you! Good food at the restaurant in the hotel. Never served anything I didn’t like. The breakfast bar was plentiful and very well maintained. Overall happy with our stay.

We enjoyed staying at Hotel Island - the concierges were great! Security was good - pass keys for the elevator, and a safe in the room. Brunch was available and the service and food at restaurant was very good, but wasn’t always open according to their posted hours. The housekeeping was adequate. The hotel is well situated to a pharmacy, grocery story, tech store where we bought local SIM cards, a 24/7 grocery store, Sculpture Museum where we got our City Passes which included free entry to many attractions, including the nearby pool with hot tubs, steam room. It’s a short walk to the bus stop, where you can take a bus into centre centre. And there are many relatively inexpensive (for Iceland) restaurants nearby. Hotel Island was a great choice for us!

Hotel was nice, saunas n pools lovely. Not a whole lot to do or get to in walking distance so make sure you have a car. Seemed more like a stop over spot for guest on planned golden circle trips or conventions Beds so need to be replaced.

The hotel everything perfect, the tour and airport transfer pick up direct in front of hotel, the only negative thing is too far to walk to city center in winter need around 30mis walks and public transport only bus, and not frequent, the bus stop either walk 5 mins or 10 mins depends which bus .

The hotel room was fine if a little small for four people. The spa facilities are wonderful but they need to stay open later. The breakfast is excellent (though expensive - standard for Rekjavik) the dinner was quite poor which was disappointing. The location is odd - it’s a little out of the centre and needs a bus to get to the centre. These are easy to use but would have been better if we were in the centre.

Internet was fast, hotel room was chilly, there was no instruction on turning on the lights so I had to ask the front desk who told me I needed to put my hotel room card into the slot for them to work, there were no instructions for the towel warmer, the room service lacked entirely and only had wings when it should have had a full menu like the restaurant downstairs, change the menu for the Hekla restaurant for lunch and dinner so it’s not always the same food, and most importantly, fully cook the bacon because almost every day is was undercooked and most people didn’t eat it
