Great stay in Reykjavík. This hotel is historic, so don’t expect the rooms to be really large. they are not. The staff was nice. They let us store our bags before checkin was available. Also, if there in the summer, as we were, know that the rooms do not have air conditioning. It was not a problem for us as the outside temps were pleasant and you can open windows for ventilation. The location is hard to beat, right in the middle of downtown near all of the sights! Overall, a pleasant experience.

We enjoyed the property! The location is absolutely perfect! There isn't an elevator, so be aware of that! It also would have been nice to have a fan for summer in the top rooms where the sun bakes the room! Otherwise we enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and in the perfect location!

Excellent staff, very nice breakfast, clean hotel, centrally located. Main complaint, really, is the lack of an elevator (difficult when arriving/leaving with heavy bags). Also, few tour operators pick up in that area for some reason. It's near a highly touristic area full of shops and restaurants, and that was nice. Would use it again.

The location of Leifur Erickson is just perfect. Off the busy shopping street but about a 2 minute walk away. Very quiet and centrally located. We could walk everywhere we chose to go. Staff was helpful and friendly. The lack of a lift was troublesome only when checking in and out.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Leifur Eiriksson. The room was perfect for a rest between sightseeing and the hotel was very conveniently located near a bus stop and multiple sights. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, providing recommendations. I also appreciated the coffee and tea available in reception. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was clean and quaint. Breakfast food was okay and there was access to hot drinks 24 hours which was great. No restaurant at hotel but there is a bar, guessing not fully stocked by the look of it but adequate. Close to bus stop 8 for different tour pick up or airport transfer drop off.

Room was super clean and tidy and a nice view of the city. This is an old building so I wasn’t expecting it to be so modern. Breakfast was good unlimited coffee and tea isn’t too shabby Right down town so walking to tourist attractions and restaurants is a breeze. Street parking everywhere. I’d recommend right across the street at the church. Only negative is that there was no internet elevator so if you’re in need of one I’d skip this hotel.

Sentralt beliggende i forholdsvis stille strøk. Litt kjedelig frokost, men mye frukt og godt brød! Rensligheten var ikke helt bra, gulvene var ikke rene og nattbordene ble ikke vasket ved et lengre opphold. Enkelte av personalet var så dårlige i engelsk at det nesten ikke var mulig å forstå dem. Få forstod heller ikke islandsk!

Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Blick auf die Hallgrimmskirche gebucht, in der ersten Nacht hatten wir dies auch. Das Zimmer war äusserst klein und es miefte sehr speziell. Für die zweite Nacht hiess es, dass auf unserem Gang kein Strom mehr vorhanden sei. Daraufhin wurden wir in den untersten Stock bei der Rezeption untergebracht. Das Zimmer war zwar grösser, jedoch hatten wir am Morgen der Abreise nicht einmal warmes Wasser zum Duschen. Beide Zimmer wirkten auf den ersten Blick relativ sauber, jedoch war beim zweiten Zimmer auf den zweiten Blick das Gegenteil der Fall. Fremde Haare im Bett, scheinbar Insekten (es hat Köder / Monitore unter den Betten) und wir Ausschläge am Körper. Alles in allem für den Preis eher sehr nüchtern.

The location of the property was perfect. Walking distance to a lot of local shops & restaurants. The breakfast was alright, nothing special. The parking was a problem though, during my entire stay there wasn’t any parking in the free lot off site and I paid for street parking every couple hours. It was annoying to have to think of that . The WiFi in the room was spotty and kept going in and out. The only place where I never had any issues with the WiFi was in the lobby. While the hotel was decent, there are better options in the area. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Pros: Excellent location, friendly staff, and tasteful decor! Cons: We were on the top floor (4th) and the slanted ceilings significantly cut into the usable space. I'm not sure if it would be the case or not for lower floors, but I had to wear ear plugs to sleep because of how loud the wind was at the top of the building. There are no elevators, but the staff offered to help carry luggage up the stairs. The main downside was the bathroom. It was almost unusable because of how small it was and the makeshift nature of the shower. It was literally only about 15 inches deep, with hardly enough room to stand, and the wooden doorframe to the bathroom was rotten as a result of literally being inside the tiny 15 inch shower area.

Room was micro-sized. Shower was similar to a small yacht shower entirely within the micro lavatory separated by a shower curtain. Shower floor was the same floor as the bathroom floor. Slippery floor in the shower equals slippery floor in the entire tiny bathroom. Bed against one wall with about two feet clear on the access side.

Pros: great location near the free parking lot at the church. And a short walk to downtown. Cons: most pathetic shower situation I've seen to date. I challenge anyone to take a shower here without touching the shower curtain most of the time. Also you have to reach outside the shower to get soap which was about as weird as the smell that permeates the bathroom. The hotel staff said most of their rooms have showers like that, so beware. We stayed somewhere else for about $40 more a night earlier in our trip and it was like night and day. The other place felt luxurious, especially the shower. Worth it. We only ended up at this place due to lack of availability at the other place, and now I've definitely learned to book further in advance.

This is located in the perfect spot for your Reykjavik stay, right downtown across from the big church. The service was top notch. Everyone was helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was great! They had a large and healthy selection for breakfast items that don’t need to be cooked while you wait. Our room was very small, but it was clean and cute. The beds weren’t amazing, but for less than a week they were perfectly fine. The bathroom was spacious and clean.

Everything about this hotel was perfect for me. Great location in the heart of the city. Take the fly bus from the airport and get off at bus stop #8 and the hotel is across the street. This is also one of the bus stops for tours. We had the view of the beautiful Hallgrimskirkja church from our window. The rooms were a decent size. Very clean. Comfortably beds. The front desk people were all awesome. Very helpful. We didn’t eat breakfast but it looked really good. Hope to go back. I be will staying at this wonderful hotel again. Thank you so much.

When I said that I had a walker, they assigned me to the first level in order to make it easier for my whole stay. The hotel's location is fantastic. It is opposite Reykjavik's famous church and within easy walking distance of the restaurant Kol (creative presentation and taste) and the optional Loki.

It is very close to stop 8, which is right by the church and where you get picked up/dropped off by yours and the Fly Bus from the airports. Very walkable distance to everything. Breakfast was very limited and the same everyday. Only bread, cold ham, cheese and cold boiled egg. No warm options. No elevators at all so beware if you have heavy or big luggage. Bathroom extremely small. Bed was super comfortable.
