Nice hotel well finished just unfortunate that it doesn’t do food and the bar isn’t very good but as we were only staying for 2 nights it was ok but next time we’ll look for somewhere different

Nice modern hotel with good room facilities but make sure you bring snacks as there is no bar or restaurant which is pretty unusual. There’s a Sainsbury’s local and Greggs 5mins away but ideally wouldn’t have to nip out (and pay more) for it on a Sunday morning. No parking also a bit of a pain but we got lucky on the street outside. Corner end room on upper floor had super views of the castle.

Very clean , quiet and comfortable , high quality . All staff engaged freely and pleasantly . Very close to Princes Street …. No restaurant so you are given local recommendations for breakfast etc and they will serve drinks to you in the lobby which is well furnished but not a bar !

Very comfortable room with excellent beds and nice pillows. Our only small gripe was it was a little chilly in the evenings, but boiling at night! It looked like the temperature was centrally controlled as we couldn’t adjust it. The hotel happy hour between 5 and 6 with complimentary drinks was fabulous and the staff so friendly!

Room was very small for twin occupancy but otherwise faultless! Helpful and friendly staff. Daily room service. Free drinks between 5-6 pm was a pleasant surprise and indeed the best part of our stay!

We recently stayed at this hotel and were really impressed by the overall look and feel of the place. The hotel itself is beautiful—stylish, modern, and well-maintained. The furniture and facilities were fantastic, and it’s clear that a lot of care has gone into the design and upkeep. However, the housekeeping service could use some improvement. Check-in was advertised for 3pm, but unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready until 3.45pm. On our first full day, we left the hotel at around 10.30am and returned approximately five hours later, only to find that the room still hadn’t been cleaned. Housekeeping eventually came by at 5.45pm to ask if we needed anything, which we felt was quite late for daily room service. Overall, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the hotel’s lovely setting and comfortable rooms, but a more prompt and consistent housekeeping service would definitely enhance the guest experience.

The staff were amazing! They were not only courteous, but very helpful with directions and suggestions etc. The room was very clean, housekeeping were excellent. The bed was very comfortable, and since we were there for almost 3 weeks, that was extremely important!

Great hotel , quiet area . No street or guest noise heard. Fab check in and the hours free drinks and snacks in the evening is a great touch. Room was excellent with the small kitchen. Powerful annd hot shower. Only one niggle was housekeeping, we were out from half eight to half four both days; day one they came at five when we were getting ready for dinner , day two no show. But that was a minor thing and did not detract from a great stay. All staff were lovely.

We were able to walk to all the main attractions; so convenient. The hotel is very new so everything was in perfect condition. The towels are extra thick, the beds extra comfortable and the care to make sure everything is clean and well stocked was obvious. Plus we have to shout out the staff. The went above and beyond to make sure we were always professionally taken care of. 10/10

We had a great suprise when entering room 621 as it had 3 windows with amazing views overlooking St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral at one side and Edinburgh Castle on the other. The hotel seems very new and modern, and another plus would be it's proximity to the city centre. The room also had a kitchenette area that was well equiped and was spacios enough for a couple with 2 large check-in bag and 2 carry-ons. Overall, we would definitely return here on our future stays in Edinburgh.

We loved our stay at The Resident and would highly recommend it for anyone trying to go to Edinburgh and be close to everything but not have to wade through tourists when getting back for the evening. The location was perfect and the room itself was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great which was a must-have during the hottest week of the year!

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in the UK (and I've been staying at quite a few 5 star hotels). The staff was professional, friendly, and accomodating. A fairly new property. Staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly. Room was great, comfortable bedding, high end toiletries and kitchen facilities were great. Microwave, fridge, coffee machine, sink etc. Bonus afternoon drinks in the lobby was a nice surprise! Definitely recommend and would be my first choice to stay at again.

We had an excellent stay at The Resident in Edinburgh. The staff were absolutely fantastic! Friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Our room was spotless and had a fresh, clean scent, which we really appreciated. We even had a lovely view of Edinburgh Castle right from our window! The hotel is located in New Town, which gave us a peaceful retreat away from the heavier tourist crowds but still within easy walking distance to everything. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again!

It was a nice weekend stay with the hotel being very conveniently located within walkable distance to the Old Town and the main city centre and yet it was quiet and peaceful. Good dining options nearby. And the staff was very helpful and cordial.

New fresh hotel with functional small smart rooms. Cofffe, tea and microwave in the small kitchen. Good beds and quiet area just around the corner from «everything». Loved the free complimentary drinks as well.

Exceptionally welcoming staff, every eve there were complimentary drinks where staff made such an effort to make people feel wekcome and ask about their day. Nothing was too much and the room, although on the small side, had everything I needed including a small fridge, and kitchenette. Would definitely stay again in a heartbeat.
