Booked a standard double sea view room so we could both sit and view the solar eclipse from our room. Checked various sites to compare cost and room photos. All photos shown for this room showed 2x sea facing windows. Which was what we wanted, would have been fine. We ended up getting a room 411. With one small dirty dormer window. No socket outlets on left side of the room. Very low ceiling height on left side(hit my head on it getting up for the toilet during the night) Lights in the bathroom so bright the whole bedroom was in full brightness. My wife went down to complain but the staff on reception just said that room was considered a standard double. Strange then that the photo of this room is not included anyway on any site as a possible room if you choose Double standard sea view. Just ridiculous...why would you have two people trying to squeeze heads together to get a view of the sea. I believe this room is probably used by staff. The minimum they should do is advertise this room as a small restricted room with SINGLE WINDOW ONLY. Very annoyed this great event was ruined by the hotel.

This hotel is extremely tired and dated inside. I am sure it was once a beautiful and glamorous establishment but it needs significant investment to modernise and renovate. The bedroom was very tired and dated, it was stifling hot and the towel radiator had been left on at full heat. There are limited plugs in the bedroom and the shower is either hot or scalding no happy medium. The breakfast room was chaotic with odd layout of tables so a maze to get it to the food and back to your table so we only had a pastry and an orange juice. It is really sad this hotel has been left to become tired and run down, it felt more like a care home than an hotel.
