Faded Victorian hotel which is ok but not in great condition Staff are nice, breakfast is ok Bed was comfortable but have the annoying sheets that some hotels have that seem to fit into the mattress and not tuck under so exposing the mattress. It’s awful Appreciate it’s hard to maintain an old large hotel but does need investment and a refurb The gym and pool have been closed for years but yet there is still signage on the hotel for it. Lack of attention to detail

Excellent breakfast and bar snacks, evening dinner was good. Hotel was quiet during the day or night,for sounds,even though the hotel was very busy. It would have been better if there was a bigger entertainment area,the bar were the singer is, unfortunately is quite small, I enjoyed my stay and will return when the pool is ready.

Liked the old world charm and history of the place. Breakfast was really good and even had one evening where a meal was had in the bar. Very good. Staff were very pleasant and friendly (even when asking for last orders). Very big car park. Not too far to walk to train station either.

We have stayed at the imperial 3 times now, love the grandeur of the hotel and can imagine it was the best hotel in Blackpool when it was built. It still has a special feel about it, it is opposite the tram stop or easy ten minute stroll into the town centre, nice size rooms and bathrooms, pleasant bar area and with drinks packages that make it very competitive, first time we stayed there was no evening entertainment but last couple of times there has been a singer and bingo if you want it, plenty of parking which is chargeable but it’s handy and safe with cctv we really enjoy the breakfast menu, never tried the evening restaurant but have had a bar meal which has been good and excellent value, normally use the imperial if we are seeing a show at the winter gardens etc because it’s a good standard and competitive priced, always found hotel staff very pleasant and obliging as well, it’s now our go too hotel when we stay in Blackpool

The hotel was situated on the seafront. There was a bus stop and tram stop directly outside the hotel. Although at an extra cost there was lots of safe and secure parking which we were happy to pay. The hotel was excellent. The rooms were very comfortable. The Bed and Breakfast package we purchased was great value for money. Lots of choice for breakfast and well cooked. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. When visiting Blackpool again we will certainly stay at this hotel.

We had a couple of nights in a sea view room with clean windows which is a first for us in Blackpool, car park has plenty of space and is chargeable £10 a night, fine with that, we had breakfast included and is very good, worth the money, we also took advantage of a drinks package which we found to be excellent value and well worth it, bar staff are really helpful and pleasant, being mid week didn’t expect entertainment but there was singers on both nights and it was very watchable, overall we had a very nice stay and have booked again in the near future, hope the drink package will still be available though, bedroom furniture was a little dated but room was serviced daily and very clean so happy with everything and looking forward to next vist

The hotel is dirty, it smells, has holes in the carpet and generally dirty, at breakfast the cutlery was dirty every single fork and doesn’t even have a coffee machine. I also messaged the hotel twice as my daughter has left her cuddly toy in the room and have been ignored

Room was dirty carpet floor stained bathroom floor dirty dust in corners Radiator very dirty , crayon and stain on wall, brass plate on inside of door loose No water on our third day Breakfast cutlery dirty on two occasions. Breakfast was good . We have been to this hotel for the last 6 years and this time was very disappointed and we will not return sorry to say.

Check in is so slow it’s painful . My room was dirty had to turn duvet over as cover dirty , bathroom bin dirty and thick with dirt just below sink. Overall the room was poor quality and neglected. Stains on curtains and carpets stained plug on fridge full of dust . Furniture old and chipped, handle missing off table . Most disappointing as the hotel itself is lovely just the room and check in let it down badly .

The hotel is a very grand affair, but is in need of decorating throughout. The room was clean, but attention to detail could be better, there was a good layer of dust on the shaver socket in the bathroom. The breakfast was lovely and the dining room staff were also lovely, which made our stay!

We have stayed last year and there were no major problems. This year There was a problem with the room key most days not working and no soap or shower gel in room with we arrived and it took 4 hours to get some. Bathroom was never cleaned. Cold room with draughty windows and no heated towel rail in room 341.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in a very comfortable, clean and cosy room. We asked reception for a fan and they brought us one, the fourth floor was extremely quiet although wifi reception up there not so good. Everything was clean, we had a lovely sea view and the windows opened which is a massive bonus. Night entertainment was really good, drinks priced reasonably and the buffet breakfast was plentiful and very tasty indeed. Lots of options available and a lovely dining area. This is our favorite hotel in Blackpool, very old, victorian and beautiful architecture. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff are pleasant too.

The property is beautiful but is now looking tired afterva long period of not being updated. The bedroom we had while perfectly fit for purpose does not meet the standard required today. The window in the bathroom, while double glazed, did not close properly so was quite draughty. This was not to much of a problem as it was quite warm during our stay, but would be very uncomfortable in colder weather.

We liked our room, we asked for a fridge and fan, it was provided 😁 Breakfast is always good, plenty of choice. Nice polite staff. Very nice oldy worldly hotel. However,like I said previously, the hotel is a bit worn and could do with an upgrade. Such as better chairs in the rooms, curtains should be easier to open, window rattled on Tuesday night with those high winds, I had to put a piece of cardboard in to stop it. Doors to the rooms are sometimes difficult to close and you have to let it slam shut for it to close properly, thus disturbing people at night. We could hear doors slamming throughout the night. Overall, we have stayed 3 times in the last 12 months and have enjoyed our stay. Would definitely go back there.

fantastic service at the restaurant and the bar , the food especially the evening meal was outstanding . Unfortunately for us we couldn’t get the radiator to turn off in the middle of the night , very hot in the middle of summer , the 4th floor dormer /attic rooms are noisey on windy nights , not suitable for people at 5’10 and above due to beams .

Arrived at the hotel to find a massive queue for check in which took around 45 minutes to get to the front. These seemed to a combo of sheer volume (due to a conference in the hotel) and staff battling a booking system which seemed to involve multiple bits of paper and general confusion. The hotel itself is tired but perfectly nice and breakfast is very good. The downside was our room which had shockingly bad pillows. Also suffered from noise as we could hear anyone walking in the corridor outside and above the room.

Horrendous check in waited in the queue for 1hour and 10 minutes only one person checking all the guests in. No worthwhile apology was offered just a biscuit yes a biscuit. Duty manager was not helpful at all and was just dismissing everyone who was complaining. I asked him for the managers contact information and he just ignored me. We were with our 2 year old grandson which made matters worse. Totally unacceptable experience.

Lovely, helpful staff for all of my visit. Being in a wheelchair and travelling alone can be difficult but the staff here were there to assist with everything. This hotel has a long history and personally I’d rather stay somewhere like this. Would highly recommend

Reception very slow,only one member of staff. Rooms very clean but tired,dated and need upgrading. Breakfast very good and courteous,well staffed personnel. Dining room lovely looks like it has been upgraded. Rest of hotel need similar treatment. Area around hotel rather run down. Car park charge seemed excessive considering one was staying as guest.

Jenna! She was great! Expedia sold us a room that was unsuitable, said sleeps 3 and it definitely didn’t sleep 3, Jenna couldn’t have been more helpful and offered us a superior family room for really cheap! The room was lovely. Breakfast was great! We loved our stay at the imperial and will definitely be back!

The public rooms are beautiful, full of character, the bar has an ornate stained glass roof light. The rooms are well appointed with some old furniture, bathroom was traditional with the largest basin I've ever seen. Bath, shower, TV and coffee/tea the facilities in the room. Rooms are available with a sea view. Breakfast was extensive but some of the hot food was a little dry. Parking is available. The tower and north pier are about a 15 minute walk away. All round a good stay.

Great Location, Bus stops and tram stops outside the hotel. Great selection for breakfast ( and its all you can eat buffet)., Breakfast includes.... Fried eggs, Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes (not tinned), beans and mushrooms. Also toast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and a selection of fruit juices as well as freshly made pastries and various cereals, Not forgetting Tea & Coffee..

Lovely stay, friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. Hotel slightly dated and needs a lock of paint in a few places but that adds to the charm. Ideal location with parking and also a tram stop just across the road. Breakfast selection was excellent. Highly recommend.

I stayed here with my partner for the 2025 air show weekend. It’s a great location on the sea front and our room had gorgeous sea views. If you’re interested to see what it was like to experience luxury at the turn of the century you can see it here. Very dated, of course, but with lots of stunning original features. We parked here for 2 nights, costing £20. The bar was well priced and the room a great size. My only complaints are that our room was situated between 2 chimneys, and on an extremely windy weekend this made for a very noisy bed time! Luckily my partner can sleep through anything and I’d taken earplugs with me. Secondly, the bed was only a double so felt rather cramped after sleeping in a king. Still, no reason to mark down - it was a great stay.

Hotel always great rooms comfortable breakfast first class with plenty of choice and the service is excellent. Decided to order a pizza with room service this wasn’t such a good experience tried ringing two numbers provided in the hotel directory and it just rang out. I eventually went down to reception to order it to be fair the receptionist was very apologetic and said he would sort it. After an hour the pizza turned up with a waiter that had a bit of an attitude problem as if I was a nuisance to dare to request room service. I was charged 12.95 for the pizza and 5.00 tray charge which I expected but when I opened the box it was a leathery tough pizza base stone cold with approximately 3 inch diameter sauce smeared thinly on, it was totally inedible so I promptly put it outside the room door. Love this hotel but they really need to look at the service they provide for eating in the room it has truly let them down and I for one will never order again.

I had a good stay at the Imperial. There was a bit of a wait to check in, but once it was my turn, Tristan did a great job of making sure everything was right and telling me what I needed to know. My room was a standard room without a sea view. Well maintained and comfortable. There are older reviews about the food not being great. This is no longer the case. Dinner was lovely, with the kitchen doing a great job in producing something attractive and delicious. Breakfast was included. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options.

We stopped for two nights on May day bank holiday and Tuesday to watch the Gary Barlow concert. This the third time we have stopped at the hotel in standard double room. We parked on the road outside for which is free. The room was clean, warm and spacious. We had breakfast which is good with plenty of choices. On the first night we had a three course meal in the hotel restaurant. It was excellent. On the first night we were watched the Entertainment in the hall next to the bar. Lee and Victoria were excellent. We really enjoyed it. We bought some drinks vouchers which worked out at £3 for a pint or gin n tonic. It is a good deal. Check in was quick and the staff really friendly. The staff were really nice in the bar and restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and return again.

Although the hotel is looking a bit tired, it’s steeped in history which we loved. The Churchill room is definitely worth a look in, to learn about our most famous prime minister’s times at the hotel and his political exploits. The evening meal was excellent in terms of variety, quality of food and service. Breakfast was great too. Our room was very shabby but I opted not to upgrade. If I had, I probably would have ended up with a higher quality room for a still reasonable price. Great to support these old hotels - they ought to be preserved and cherished.
