We had a nice stay, this is a smaller hotel on the hotel zone, but it has everything you need and is a great choice for the cost. Pros: - The staff were really friendly and helpful - the rooms were always clean with plenty of bottled water given each day and AC - the private beach was nice with activities nearby - the pools and grounds were well kept. - they had great food options that changed every meal - The bartenders were great, lots of alcoholic and non alcoholic options and snacks around. - bus station in front of the hotel for easy transport Cons: - The walls are a bit thin so you will hear music outside and people in the hallway. Not an issue if you don't want to spend vacation in your room anyways!

La habitación muy limpia, diario hacian el aseo yo salia por la mañana y en la tarde ya estaba aseada la habitación, la cama tendia. El personal muy amable me llevo muy buena impresión de este hotel. El hotel tiene playa y un pequeño balcon para ver el mar y camastros

Good location, good food, friendly staff, our room was cleaned well every time we got cleaning service. Beautiful green landscape. Nice beach with plenty of lounge chairs for everyone. Smaller resort but we liked that about this place. Good for a laid back vacation. Just what we wanted. Keep in mind there is stairs throughout the resort and no elevator. Our room had a good working AC which was a plus for us. The entertainment was great!

Lo mejor del hotel es su servicio. Meseros, hostess, capitanes de bares y camaristas con buena actitud. Solo el personal en recepción es promedio, puede mejorar. Las instalaciones son viejas, están descuidadas y falta mantenimiento. Tema que deberían mejorar ya que es un hotel pequeño. No se cumplió la promesa de venta en su totalidad ya que al reservar decía parque acuático incluido y cuando llegamos no había tal parque.

Poor facility. I booked two rooms, rain water leaked into one of the rooms. Called the front desk and asked for change, they said no room available and even not bother to send a employee to look how bad the leak was. We had to run to the front desk to talk to the manager, she finally agreed to change. Some pieces of concrete from the balcony of the upper floor falled to another room's during rain. The food quality is low and the choices are limited. There are only two operating restaurants. They closed one of the during a rainy evening, made guests standing in a long line outside waiting for dinner. We had to wait for one hour to get a beach towel. Most of the employee are nice and willing to help.

The staff at Dos Playas were exceptional! Everyone was really nice and accommodating, from the front desk staff to the servers. Guadalupe and Luis were particularly great servers, and they made our stay all the more enjoyable! The beach area is great, and it is easy to access excursions from this hotel. The buffet was great every day, from breakfast to dinner. There are also pretty good snack options on-site, like pizza and burgers. There is entertainment in the nighttime, which was enjoyable. You can walk to Coco Bongo from here in about 40 minutes. The hotel does appear to be a little older. The room will not be the best you've ever stayed in, and some sections of the resort could use a little physical love. If you're more interested in a great and picturesque room, this resort probably isn't for you. If you're more interested in the beach, excursions, and exploring Cancun, this resort will allow you to do that at an affordable price. There were tons of families vacationing at this resort while we were there, and they seemed to be having a great time! I think people of all ages can enjoy themselves here. The staff, including maintenance and cleaners, were very receptive to our requests, and they were very prompt. The highlights of this resort were the staff, the beach, and the buffet.

Très mauvaise expérience ! A l’arrivée, on nous donne une chambre au RDC, quasiment insalubre ! Des taches de sang sur les oreillers, sur le mur des tables de nuit, sur le linge de lit…. La salle de bain…. La douche était noire de crasse, et les toilettes avec du papier dedans. Je doute fortement que la chambre ait été nettoyée avant notre arrivée ! Nous demandons donc de changer de chambre, cela a été fait avec une chambre enfin propre, mais du coup mon conjoint a perdu plus d’1h pour le changement de chambre… Le ménage était fait tous les jours, mais de temps en temps à la vas vite, c’est-à-dire le sol non fait avec en prime des cheveux de la femme de ménage ! Nous avons tout de même vu un cafard dans la chambre. Concernant le personnel…. A la réception, le matin nous avons l’impression de déranger, et le soir le personnel était très sympathique et compétent. Le pire était au stand des serviettes ! il n’y avait jamais de serviette, la personne nous aboyait limite dessus. Les matelas de la piscine étaient dans un état... très sales (cf photos) La nourriture était basique, nous avions pris uniquement le petit déjeuner et avons appris au dernier moment que pour pouvoir manger le midi ou le soir dans les restaurants de l’hôtel, il fallait s’inscrire en avance à la réception, cela nous a valu de commander une pizza le premier soir ! Nous demandons un geste commercial de votre part.

Beach is full of poop feces being washed up from the ocean, resort is very old and ran down, buildings are hideous to the eye, they look like ghetto apartment buildings, pools are small, murky and ugly, our room was never cleaned, just bed made and towels changed. No entertainment at all, Spanish screaming at night which they believe is singing and it was really annoying. Most staff do not speak any English. No amenities, no drinks in the fridge, no coffee maker, one tiny buffet restaurant for the whole place and guests are allowed to enter in whatever clothing they wish any time of day, even in bathing suits at dinner. Not acceptable, no class. Beach has old worn down wood loungers, this is by far the worse place in the whole hotel zone.

Loved the level of service- very kind and helpful employees especially for complete tourists like me and my friend! Helped us navigate Mexico by explaining how the buses/taxis work and helping us book a car last minute sitting with us for 45mins calling the places as most don’t even speak English. Only small things like we had to ask for our bedsheets to be replaced when we got there- they had stains. And my friend found a hair in the food once which spoiled our appetite. These things could have happened anywhere so we appreciate the staff taking care of both situations

This place has a beautiful beach located right outside your door, however the rooms were not super clean. The beds had stains all over them and were rock hard. The staff were ok, many of them ignored us and prioritized those who spoke Spanish over us. Overall it’s not a super boujee place but it’s ok if you are looking for somewhere neutral to stay.

La limpieza pésima estaban sucias las sábanas, el baño estaba sucio al rededor de la taza y el segundo día pusieron fundas de almohada en con manchas de sangre qué no se le quitaron en la lavada me quiero suponer de otro huésped, la funda del burro de planchar estaba sucia de humedad, el primer día en la comida un cabello en un tamal y un cabello al rededor del frasco de la miel, le dan más preferencia a huéspedes extranjeros y sobre todo en habitaciones, las paredes del hotel qué dan hacia la playa al menos por presentación deberían pintarlas de los grafiris qué tiene para poder cubrirlos, no hay ningunos juegos acuáticos como lo hacen parecer en las imágenes que colocan del hotel

Desde que llegas nadie te recibe a duras penas un hola,la habitación decente, limpieza de la habitación regular,las instalaciones super viejas cosa que sabia de antemano al ser económico, la comida es buena pero nada variada y muy poca opción, la playa es linda solo que no tenían suficientes camastros y hay mucha gente no del hotel que llega ahi , tiene lindos jardines y muy bonitas vistas pero lo dejan caer terriblemente con un poco de mantenimiento todo seria bueno, las albercas viejisimas sin mantenimiento y sucias ya que mucha gente se mete con ropa normal, en las areas de comida demasiadas moscas con un aparato creo se soluciona pero da un pesimo aspecto insalubre,la ropa de cama y toallas deberian de cambiarlas super viejas y percudidas. El hotel tiene potencial pero sin duda lo dejan caer cuando con detalles simples pueden hacerlo destacar. Les falta personal hay como 2 meseros por restaurante MIGUEL se llevo todo el crédito con la atención. La comida es buena (muy casera) pero un poco de mas variedad seria genial, los restaurantes son improvisados en el cielito lindo hasta cucarachos voladores si agregar que ponen muy pocas.mesas y tienes que esperar donde te comen los.mosquitos porque ni luz hay, ojo NO HAY AIRE ACONDICIONADO estan solo 2 ventiladores asi que te mueres de calor, eso si la cena estuvo muy buena pero me lleve super mala impresión. Repito tiene potencial para ser un buen hotel con un poco de mantenimiento. No volveria prefiero pagar mas y disfrutar

Exijo solicito mi reembolso no estuve en el hotel me salí inmediatamente la habitación súper sucia pulgas humedad Pelos las colchas sucias un verdadero cochinero no deberían tener ese hotel en expidia levanté mi queja inmediatamente al hotel y sólo fueron buenos para decir solicité el reembolso a ustedes

Everything was pretty good at this property. Although it's an older building, it's kept pretty clean. My family and I loved the pools, and especially the private beach! We also loved the different food options, although they didn't have ice ream, which is something they need to add to their menu! Also, one thing that was not as pleasant was the mattress of the bed provided in our room for my husband and I, it was too hard and gave us an achy back. Good thing the bed my daughters used was ok.

The ground in the hotel, all stairs and stones. Even the way for wheels, Especially in the rainy days, the ways are very slippery. I felt and twisted my ankle right away on the first day after checked in.. the hotels no elevator so I have to move to downstairs without window.. I tried to upgraded to ocean view room.. but there is shower rain that all the rain water coming into the room everywhere.. me and my daughter must stayed on the bed .. all my suitcases are staying in the water.. we tried to call front desk to help.. in the begging they said 5minutes, 10 minutes and right away… and then hanged up my call.. until after 3 hours, my daughter went to the front desk directly in the rain and asked them to do something to solve problems… finally they sent a cleaning lady came and used a mop to move the water on the room ground to hall way .. that’s it! Of course there still had some water under the bed and suitcases.. I’m not just complain about the old equipment (old shower head, old faucet…, ) the most important thing is no honest and slow services.. in my life, I travelled all of the world, it is the worst hotel I never been.. 😮💨I stayed two different hotels this time in Cancun.. the other one is perfect .. I never thought I had so such a bad experience with this hotel..

The A/C wasn’t enough to cooldown the bedroom, they give you only one key impossible to get second one, in on the hand , buffet is very decent, but if you have a early tour they don’t let you take the minimum to get breakfast you are no allow to take food out of restaurant.

The beach a absolutely beautiful Soft sand, waves but no riptide. They work very hard to clean up the seaweed. The food is local Yucatan. If you're looking for gringo food rhis place isn't for you. But they do have hot dogs and pizza snack bars. It's very clean. Upgrade to the ocean view, well worth the money. The activities are fun. Remember that its not a 5 star and you will be please.

Good location, good food, friendly staff, our room was cleaned well every time we got cleaning service. Beautiful green landscape. Nice beach with plenty of lounge chairs for everyone. Smaller resort but we liked that about this place. Good for a laid back vacation. Just what we wanted. Keep in mind there is stairs throughout the resort and no elevator. Our room had a good working AC which was a plus for us. The entertainment was great!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My stay at Dos Playas by Faranda was the worst hotel experience of my life — and I’ve never felt so humiliated while traveling. From the moment we arrived, things were wrong: no one helped us with luggage after check-in. We climbed stairs in the dark because the hallway lights kept shutting off. Our room door barely closed, the bathroom reeked of sewage, and there was no fan or ventilation. My friend has allergies and struggled to breathe because of the strong sewer smell. There were no toiletries — not even shampoo. Just one towel per person, expected to be used for body, face, and hair. They didn’t even replace it daily. The pillow had a black stain. The closet was tiny, had only three hangers, no shelves, and worst of all — an open electrical breaker box inside it. The pool smelled horrible. This property is highly affordable for couples and family with small children. All inclusive so drinks were endless and the food was okay. The food and meals were nothing too fancy but every night there was a theme to the meal. Lots of activities to do around the resort and the beach is walking distance with private seating just for dos playas people. Please tip these people! They do their best to serve the customers including the drunk hungry ones who wonder in last minute. The hotel room on the other hand was not the best. Me and my fiancés hotel room toilet constantly leaked and we woke up with a puddle in the bathroom every morning of our stay. The room also smelt of mildew but nothing too gross. The shower water is also Luke warm takes a moment to warm up in general but doesn’t get hot. We didn’t mind that since we were sun burnt and wanted nothing to do with hot water. Can’t say that’s everyone’s preference so make sure if you’re looking for somewhere that will give you the basic Cancún experience nothing over the top fancy you stay at dos playas Farandas. There is also wild peacocks and iguanas that wonder around the property they are domesticated peacocks please don’t feed them as the employees take care of them. Also bring an extension cord the hotel rooms have 1-2 outlets in the room itself max.

This hotel is located on the northern side of the hotel zone. Access to the beach is convenient, with views of Isla Mujeres. The hotel is right next to the Ultramar ferry that leaves for Isla Mujeres from a pier on Playa Tortugas. This is not the most upscale hotel in this area, but we thought we got more of a local feel staying at this hotel (compared to the other typical US hotel chain names) especially in their food menu. Unlike many hotels in the hotel zone that looked like maximizing the number of rooms in tall buildings, this hotel has smaller sized buildings (2-3 floors) with plenty of open space, including five pools which our child loved. The smaller scale of the number of rooms and fellow guests, and plenty of open spaces meant that we felt comfortable letting our child explore the premises more independently, which was nice. There were also plenty of iguanas and peacocks nonchalantly walking around on the property. The staff is very friendly.

Terrible experience, my wife's headphones were stolen from the room. We talked with the receptionist, even showed her that they were somewhere in the city (probably the maid's home) through the "Find" app. She basically shrugged and told us it wasn't their problem. The food is not good either, even for an all included. Avoid.

Upon arriving to Dos Playas the staff was friendly helpful and caring. It was to our utter surprise when things took a turn toward the opposite direction. We arrived to our room and our safe was not working along with the outlets coming out of the wall and there being a whole in the drawer. None the less it wasn’t that bothersome until one of the maid staff stole $145 from our drawer because our safe was not working. When we made the complaint immediately the hotel staff said we should have made a written complaint about the safe and that “they haven’t had problems with THAT maid”. Our verbal complaint about the safe and them taking down our room number was not enough and even after we wrote the complaint about stolen money they still did not fix the safe. The hotel manager stated they only cover things that are in the safe and not in the room. The room was not clean which was strange to have stains on our bedding after the house keepers cleaned the room. When it was the end of our trip and we were checking out that day we got food in the morning before the check out time and we came back 30 min early to find out we were locked out of our room. We had to go to the staff to be able to unlock our room which took prompting and showing them the time multiple times to give us access to our room to grab our stuff. Overall, this hotel made our vacation not so good, stressful, and unpleasant.

Siri front desk ruined my checkout. He wanted to charge me for not having my bracelet. I had cut it off the night before because we don’t need it anymore since I was checking out early morning next day. They don’t tell you at checkin to keep it until checkout. Suri should be executed by a cartel. All the other hotel staff were friendly and hard working. Good value budget friendly all inclusive hotel. Good food. Clean room , shower, and comfortable bed. It’s not a five star hotel so don’t expect perfect everything. There are stairs on wall, rusted lamps, and broken outlets. Entertainment by the pool and every night. I had to pay for two rooms for my adult kids who came along so this budget all inclusive hotel with two rooms was a bargain.

Upon arrival we found out that we indeed not only owe the balance we were under the impression of paying but that we had to pay more by $175 dollars. We went ahead with the check in and everyone here is very accommodating. The service is very friendly, food was good and the accesses here are wonderful. I would come here again, but through a different app so I wouldn’t be surprised with extra fees later.

El hotel va acorde al precio, lo que mas nos gusto fue su playa, tiene 3 accesos, nosotros siempre ibamos al ultimo, la playa es como una alberca para los peques, no tiene oleaje fuerte y es muy bajita, lo que no nos gusto es que nadie del personal nos atendio de buena manera, nadie contestaba el buenos dias, buenas tardes, ni el gracias... me toco en las pizzas estar esperando a que el se;or terminara de hablar por telefono, me fue muy incomodo tener que interrumpirlo para pedirle mi pizza, el tampoco se digno a preguntarme nada o en interrumpir su llamada unos segundos, me hizo sentir que yo estaba mal en ir a "molestar", muchos de los del bar igual atendian sin ganas, y se molestaban de que llevemos los vasos con algo de arena, como no van a tener arena si estamos en playa?, en el buffet igual nadie que nos acercara una servilleta o unos cubiertos, los platos sucios duraban mucho en la mesa, el hotel tiene potencial, es muy tranquilo, su playa es bella, pero sin duda se ve como si los empleados no fueran felices trabajando ahi, hemos visitado distintos hoteles y en todos nos saludan y nos atienden con una sonrisa y muy efusivos, muy contentos, vimos todo lo contrario aqui, lo que me da a pensar que es algo que viene de mas arriba, no precisamente de cada uno de los empleados, no digo que no volveriamos pues la pasamos bien en la habitacion, playa y albercas, fuera de estar viendo caras cuando pediamos una bebida o un omelette, el hotel es bueno, solo si mejorar la actitud

The staff at Dos Playas were exceptional! Everyone was really nice and accommodating, from the front desk staff to the servers. Guadalupe and Luis were particularly great servers, and they made our stay all the more enjoyable! The beach area is great, and it is easy to access excursions from this hotel. The buffet was great every day, from breakfast to dinner. There are also pretty good snack options on-site, like pizza and burgers. There is entertainment in the nighttime, which was enjoyable. You can walk to Coco Bongo from here in about 40 minutes. The hotel does appear to be a little older. The room will not be the best you've ever stayed in, and some sections of the resort could use a little physical love. If you're more interested in a great and picturesque room, this resort probably isn't for you. If you're more interested in the beach, excursions, and exploring Cancun, this resort will allow you to do that at an affordable price. There were tons of families vacationing at this resort while we were there, and they seemed to be having a great time! I think people of all ages can enjoy themselves here. This hotel is located on the northern side of the hotel zone. Access to the beach is convenient, with views of Isla Mujeres. The hotel is right next to the Ultramar ferry that leaves for Isla Mujeres from a pier on Playa Tortugas. This is not the most upscale hotel in this area, but we thought we got more of a local feel staying at this hotel (compared to the other typical US hotel chain names) especially in their food menu. Unlike many hotels in the hotel zone that looked like maximizing the number of rooms in tall buildings, this hotel has smaller sized buildings (2-3 floors) with plenty of open space, including five pools which our child loved. The smaller scale of the number of rooms and fellow guests, and plenty of open spaces meant that we felt comfortable letting our child explore the premises more independently, which was nice. There were also plenty of iguanas and peacocks nonchalantly walking around on the property. The staff is very friendly.

Not overly pretentious and had all we were looking for. Friendly staff but unassuming lobby. It seems attention was for the other area. Our room overlooked the beach . 3001- nice enough room but basic.

Good location, good food, friendly staff, our room was cleaned well every time we got cleaning service. Beautiful green landscape. Nice beach with plenty of lounge chairs for everyone. Smaller resort but we liked that about this place. Good for a laid back vacation. Just what we wanted. Keep in mind there is stairs throughout the resort and no elevator. Our room had a good working AC which was a plus for us. The entertainment was great!

O Hotel tem um bom custo benefício! A localização é perfeita, pois fica bem pertinho da saída do ferry para a Isla Mujeres. A praia é ok,mas é melhor pegar praia no hotel do lado o RIU. Dado o preço é excelente. Recomendo!

The location is great, rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Loved the walking trail. Resort is small so easy to get around and food was good with options for eating throughout the day. Staff goes to a lot of effort to give you a real taste of Mexico

Property is very old . Dining was not good. My daughter got food poisoning the second day . Walk in clinic and pharmacy is right next door. Only two bottles of water in room no other beverages included in frig. Buffet was very limited and other restaurant was Mexican and was very bad quality. Bathrooms near buffet smelled terrible. Have been to Cancun over 10 times and this place was the worst by far. Would not recommend .

Very little dining options and hardly ever had a waiter come to our table to offer drinks. Rooms were clean but water temp was cold and shower faucet in poor condition. The peacocks and iguans roaming around the property were the highlight of the trip for me. Ok for the price I suppose.

The room was clean and the site was beautiful. The cost was absolutely worth the stay. The room and facilities had some broken cabinets but otherwise was fine. The food was okay, we are vegetarian but could put together something every meal. The on site entertainment was not professional but it was fun.

Website stated they had car rental on site, they do not. Workers did absolutely nothing to help or to rectify this issue. Charge you $150 for 2 people to eat at the buffet if you didn’t choose “all inclusive”. Food was absolute TRASH. Like completely inedible. Didn’t have beach towels available in the am. I could’ve stayed at a 5 star resort for the cost of food and finding a car on my own.
