Second time here but never again. Was not advised when I booked that the hotel was under major construction. Upon arrival poor signage to find the hotel entrance. Management said that was thw contractors fault.The bar services were limited. We moved rooms due to the noise. BUT the management stepped up with a perk. Two free drinks total for a 4 day stay- that was the ultimate insult.

The worse experience of any hotel I have stayed it - and I didn’t even make it inside! I arrived to park my car in the excuse of a car park, the reason I got stuck was that there were cars waiting, then cars waiting behind me leading into the busy carriageway road - cause mass issues and extremely dangerous. After being stranded in the car park for 15 minutes I made the decision to ring the reception for some assistance. Unfortunately I got a guy called Frank (the Manager apparently). I explained the car parking situation, and that as there are no spaces I will book into a different hotel at my cost but I’m not paying for parking as technically I have not ‘Parked’. I asked him to put my reg in and clear it off so I am not fined. He would not cooperate, was extremely rude! He explained that he does not have the time to help me - I asked for a call back when convenient - he said he would be too busy. You had vans parked in disabled spaces also, without displaying a badge - I raised this also and Franks extremely professional response was ‘it’s first come first served’. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, I spend £1000’s a year with work on hotels, and I will never book into a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express again.

I was promised a refund for the parking fees but was constantly given the run around about getting it. I was told the manager would have to approve it but he was never there. I was told to park on the street behind the hotel and got a parking ticket the first night. So not only am i out my parking fees, I had to pay a £60 ticket. I can't wait to go back to London but will stay somewhere else. This place will lie and steal your money.

The front of the hotel was covered in scaffolding so entry was by a side door with. Metal ramp that was a tripping hazard

The property was covered in scaffolding and a covering. No access to the front door we had to use side fire exit. There was one small notice telling us to use side entrance. It would of been a good idea to inform us of the work being done. The staff were welcoming and friendly, food was excellent.

Pleasant stay, rooms are clean and service was good. Great location and the parking charge wasn’t too bad (best to pay in advance as more expensive when booked on check-in). Breakfast ok

Property was just ok. It was kind of strange that you enter on the ground level but reception is on the second level, Not seeing a friendly face upon entering affected my experience at this hotel. However when I did encounter the staff they were amazing. The hotel served its purpose for the time we needed it. Would I choose to stay again? It would not be my first choice considerig there was no gym facility (I missed this fact when reading the property details) and not much to do in the area.

Not a great stay at all, won't ever be back here. When we checked in the lady sent us around the back for parking which was not there so ended up driving around London in the end, there was no parking so we come back to the hotel and parked on the side which the other lady said was ok, I paid the parking fee & 7am the following morning the front desk lady was ringing my room saying for me to move my car as it was blocking a road which was not the case(she should of told me this when checking in & saying it was ok to park there) Another thing is the work noise around was awful. Terrible stay.

I liked that this hotel was relatively close to the transit station. The room and hotel was very clean. AC worked very well. It was nice to have breakfast available. It was the same choices everyday but there was enough variety to not get bored. It is a bit of a ways out of all the action but it didn’t take very long to get to any of the major sites.

The linen was clean in the room, but the carpets throughout the facility were all stained. The exterior of the complex was under renovation, so all windows were covered by scaffold and mesh. Breakfast is the only meal available in this hotel and the nearest eating outlet was about 15 minutes walk away.

Room was not clean, table sticky and hairs not belonging to me in bathroom and on pillow. Major works going on and side entrance didn’t feel safe. Very noisy in the am due to works

The bedding was dirty and the staff gave me two single beds when I asked for a double and they made me wait 20 minutes for no reason and check out

The morning after I arrived, I was covered in bug bites. I am not saying there were bedbugs, I am just documenting that I had several bug bites on m y arms, back and legs after the first night. I did speak to the person at the reception desk. I asked for the bed linens to be changed and the reason why.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, a really warm welcome by the two lovely ladies who were checking everyone in. The room was spotless and smelled so clean. Bed and pillows were super comfy too

Property is extremely old and unkept. Mildew around the window and facility is dirty and dated. Only bright light was the breakfast.

Clean and comfortable room. Amazing shower. Lovely staff.

The location is an easy walk from the DLR station which takes 3 stops to Bank underground. The staff are extremely friendly the breakfast is very good. The room is clean but the carpet looked tired. The bathroom did appear to have been recently refurbished .

The room was very nice and even though it was on the street side, car noises didn't really bother me. However there was a locked door between my room and the next room, and I could hear everything from that next room which was sometimes annoying. Breakfast was very good compared to most London hotels. Location was also good, only a short walk from Limehouse station.

Our stay was ok, poor sleep due to noise, and it was hot so had to have window open. But noise can’t be helped as it’s London and the weekend. Breakfast was a let down as they had no breakfast tea and staff showed no interest in helping with that, just told us they don’t sell it. Cooked breakfast wasn’t great, as eggs seem like a powered mix, mushrooms are out of a can and sausages and hash browns were old and tough. The one thing that I will say was positive was our welcome, Samona who was on the reception desk when we arrived was super helpful and friendly. So she made it a better stay. We are here for a birthday weekend, so stay was ok, not sure I’d book here again though. But thanks goes to Samona though.

The Hotel is in walking distance to Troxy which was great benefit. Room was basic, but clean. It is worth noting that some repairs took place and it was rather noisy and overall soundproofing was not great as we could hear (unfortunately very clearly) our neighbours next door getting frisky which was a bit awkward. Also the accessible door downstairs is always open (you don’t even need a card to enter) which compromises safety. But overall it was good for what it was, it was clean and staff were nice and polite.

It was awful to arrive late at night at what looked like a closed hotel building site. Other guests were outside distressed, thinking the hotel was shut down. Luckily, a passerby told us about the side entrance, down a litter strewn alleyway. Much bigger signage is needed to guide guest especially those arriving after dark. The hotel should also have send an email warning guests so we were are. Not doing so speaks volumes about a lack of consideration, especially to women travelling alone who might find this scene on arrival very unnerving. Once inside, Reception staff was efficient but rather cool - not addressing multiple guests' shock at the entrance is not the way to inspire confidence, even if it's not the staff's fault and they are sick of hearing about it (which was the impression I got). Once inside the room it was a lovely room, despite the view of scaffolding... See photos for the view and putiside in daylight (which is less scary than when you arrive in the dark)

family bedroom was too small. can barely move around. the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy. woke up several times during the night because of discomfort. have to book another single room for the sister so she can rest better. air conditioning automatically turns off at midnight i think. have to turn it on again as wakes me up feeling hot.

Clean room however unable to use the thermostat so had a cold room.

Good and clean hotel with breakfast & airconditioning. Good beds (even the extrabed), silent rooms and friendly service. Room was not that big for 3 people (normal standard DBTL room), but was big enough for sleeping (as we were circling around London daytime). Breakfast was better that I expected, but during the park times you had to wait some stuff (go to the breakfast early enough to avoid rush).

Small size, No refrigerator and micro oven. No cabinet to stack luggage. Less cloth hanger. Staffs are excellent and cleaning the room everyday that’s excellent.

The stay was OK but we really wanted a lie in bed in the morning after a late night. However twice we were woken up with the sound of workman banging on the floor below us. Not impressed!!!

All was awesome!! The staff accommodated our special requests; for early breakfast, kept our luggage, early check in and loaned us a uk charger as our didn’t work. Special commendation to Hafiza, her coworker on that shift, Murad, Hassan and lady on reception on Tuesday 26th( gave us early breakfast) grateful and thankful.

The staff was terrible not helpful at all, the lady on the desk didn’t help at all after a long drive and arriving at the hotel to check in to then be told we had to pay a £100 holding fee which wasn’t told in the terms and condition so we was left with nothing to our name till it was cleared wouldn’t recommend

Perfect location for the Troxy and a good walk on Thames path But it was the staff that really stood out , from our initial warm welcome and help in getting our room ready to the genuinely helpful chap at breakfast

Just back from a 4 night stay. Overall a good experience but some aspects do need attention: Breakfast - only poor quality scrambled egg ( no choices), tasteless canned mushrooms, limited fresh fruit, berries to go with yoghurt in a very sweet thick sauce(not fresh tasting), no choice of jams/marmalade just open jars of marmite and choc spread( knife left in the jars for communal use-unhygienic), bread and breakfast tea not replenished, mugs not replaced had to use paper cups. On our first evening we decided to eat in, we ordered 2x pizzas, one a veggie which was on the 24/7menu, the staff member said "we don't have that". The veggie pizza was pointed out to him and after some hesitation stated they didn't have any. The same sort of thing happened on the Sunday lunchtime when my wife ordered soup. It was supposed to come with freshly baked ciabatta bread. The soup came without the ciabatta, the staff member said "it doesn't come with it", again the wording of the menu was pointed out to her. She went to get some but came back with ordinary sliced bread - they'd run out apparently, not only this but the soup was cold. Staff should know what is on the menu and what is available. Whilst all the staff were very friendly there was very poor cover of the bar area. Staff on reception were pretty busy and it was usually down to them to cover both areas - long waiting time. Everything else was really good, the room was large and comfortable, very good covered parking, good location.

The staff at the Holiday Inn, couldn't be more helpful. The ladies of the front desk and serving as bar staff 1st and 2nd March made the stay with my daughter very comfortable. I would return there again based on the staff alone. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was filling and varied. The staff were helpful in guidance to our venue ( The Troxy) for the evening. It made us feel safer getting there and back. They really couldn't do enough for us. Exeptional service.

The staff were not very friendly. My name was entered incorrectly, so my check-in was under another guest’s name, and I had to wait a long time to fix it. Two staff members even argued in front of me while dealing with the issue, and they didn’t resolve it in a timely manner.

The staff is very polite and helpful, the rooms are comfortable. Big problem is that they don't have maintenance service over the weekends, so there was an issue with the sink in my room on Friday and it wasn't possible to fix it until Tuesday. 😳Because the hotel was full, there was no option to change to a room in the same category. It is unacceptable that a hotel like this, in central London, can't sort out a maintenance issue because it is weekend. It wasn't a cheap stay, so I expected to get a proper solution for the issue.

Worst experience ever. We had stayed only 1 night and checked out before 11 am next morning (21st July) after being assured by Anita (Front desk) that the balance of the 4 nights amount will be refunded if we wanted to check-out early. In case it was not so, Then my plan was to continue to stay there rather than move to another hotel. I double-triple times reconfirmed and was assured by Anita that 'I need not worry' and she will initiate the refund. On following up the day after, I was informed that it will not be refunded. Pedro Teixeira, the reservation manager, accepted a mistake on part of their staff but said he cannot do anything. Now, this is an error from their team. They cannot put the cost of not training their staff on me. I chased Pedro requesting that the mistake is on their part and why I should I suffer by ending up paying for 4 extra nights. They need to refund and be fair. Pedro, just chose to ignore my plight. I asked him to be fair and not take advantage and be fair to compensate for their team's mistake. However, he is not refunding and hate Holiday Inn Express for this! THEY HAVE JUST CHEATED ME. THEY HAVE CHARGED ME FOR 5 NIGHTS AGAINST THE ONE I USED BECAUSE THEY ASSURED ME THAT THEY WILL REFUND MY 4 NIGHTS IF I CHECKED OUT AFTER 1 NIGHT! If Holiday Inn has any customer service policy then this is a classic example for them to step and resolve. Remaining in anticipation.

Great place, not very expensive for London, quite good location with access to downtown. Take DLR from Limehouse, which is right around the corner, but you will need to get on another train to get to the main attractions, all in all about 30-40 min. Room was quite cold though, especially since the heating turns off during day and also during night. Sofa bed is hard for adults, children should be fine. Breakfast is what can be expected from a Holiday Inn, good enough to get some food, but nothing special.

To far away from the city. No direct Transport to the city.

Out of the way location. Dirty surroundings. Homeless individuals at the train station.

The hotel is a very good value for a city break. Bus no. 15 is just a couple of minutes walk by which we can easily reach the centre. Staff was very kind and freiendly, we appreciated the delicious breakfast which was included in the otherwise fair room rate. We would return and would recommend it to others. Cheers!

This hotel is located in sketchy part of town. We felt unsafe walking around.

was at the troxy for a gig this was ideal for that 2min walk plus overall stay was good

The hairdryer in our room did not work. At breakfast, it was chaos, so many people. People were taking many pastries/food out of the restaurant so there were none left for other guests. The restaurant was short staffed, tables left uncleared, food ran out and took a while to be replaced.

The room was fine and clean and easily accessible. I was disappointed with the breakfast as the 'hot food' was cold

The number of items possible for the "full English breakfast" - beans, scrambled egg, vegan sausage, sausage, bacon, was quite restricted compared to the range of items that are in similar breakfasts elsewhere (tomato, black pudding, hash browns, fried eggs etc.)

The breakfast was generous, lots of options and delicious :-) All staff were super polite and helpful. Wonderful start to our trip.

the staff and service was great! would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in east london. two disclaimers: expedia says laundry is included in the hotel, we found out that they actually outsource laundry and you need to pay for it. also for the breakfast, there aren’t too many filling halal options

Property has great breakfast but no other restaurant facilities and pubs or restaurants are not close.
