Our entire floor smelled like weed…and the smell came into our room every time we opened the door. Someone pulled in the pool so that was closed the entire night…including the hot tub for some reason. When the pool is one of the mason reasons for selecting this place, there should be some reimbursement/discount.

Fun bar (Bennigans) attached. Housekeeping is doing a great job, including daily room cleaning which I really like and don't see much anymore. Pool and hot tub are good. The gym is really small by any standard and doesn't have much there. The breakfast is not a good value. It's equivalent to a free breakfast in most places and they're charging $17 for it. A bit of noise (knocks and bangs) throughout the night prevented me from getting good sleep.

Our rooms were on a floor that had water damage The hallways smelled and so did the rooms. My son's room had a over powering smell of mold and their was mold in the closet. They did move them.to.another room. Our room their was no any hot water and the shower had more water coming out around the shower head than through it. I work in the travel industry and would never recommend Holiday Inn to anyone.

The room smelled horribly of cigarette smoke in a non-smoking hotel. There were no extra rooms that were the same so the hotel couldn’t move us. Got the suite with the jacuzzi tub to celebrate the last day of spring break for my wife and 2 little girls.The tv didn’t work. Not a good experience. The hotel said they couldn’t refund because we paid through hotels.com. Now all of our stuff smells like cigarettes. Pretty upset about the whole thing.

I stayed in a king suite on the 8th floor. Outside of my room there was a spot light aimed towards the building I’m assuming to light up the hotel name. The entire back wall is a window and the bed next to it, the curtains in the suite are opaque with black out curtains that only close 1/8 of the window length on each side. The middle 8 ft of see through curtains have a blinding spot light pointed at them. My room was lit up all night long. It was like trying to sleep with the lights on. I have absolutely no other complaints, but I spent $200 on a room to sleep in and was not able to sleep. I asked the front desk if they had received any previous complaints about the lights in which he replied that they had not but further stating that the rooms were going to be renovated soon and that included having full length black out curtains. That was a rather specific detail to note, obviously this was a much larger issue than they let on. I did need to stay another night in which I have decided to book a room at different hotel for tonight. I did stick with Holiday Inn, but went to the next city. I should have been reimbursed for the stay since I have to get my family packed up and moved to another city so we can actually sleep comfortably tonight.

Two-night stay while attending a multi-day sports event at Now Arena. The hotel is conveniently located and a very nice property overall. Front desk service was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. Only complaint was the in-room wi-fi was very weak that I relied on cellular data to stream video on my devices. The pool is nice, but the fitness room (which I used) is cramped for the amount of equipment they have. Bennigan’s is a decent restaurant. Lastly, it is a safe and secure building. Will stay here again if I’m back in the area!

We were in town for shopping and visiting friends. Staff was courteous and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Rooms need a little TLC. We left our first room because it wreaked of cigar smoke. We moved out of our second room when the heating unit would not work properly. Room #3 was comfortable and as I said staff was apologetic and helpful, but items like broken window shade, broken towel rack and loose floor tile need to be addressed. We will stay here again.

I have no complaints. The staff was excellent. It was close to the conference I attended. The room was clean. I always say this, “You get what you pay for, but I got what I paid for and more.” People who complain are people who don’t travel and have expectations that are over and beyond what they paid for. Comfortable hotel. It is a large hotel, 8 floors, lots of activity. Has a dining for breakfast, not included. Bennigan's restaurant is attached to building. Easy to get to, located in a business park which was quiet due to holiday weekend. Room has clean. Mattress was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel room. Only complainant was we requested a handicap bathroom and the room had a tub shower and a low toilet. Overall a good experience.

Should get with the town of Elgin/Dundee to install sidewalks. I couldn’t walk anywhere. There aren’t any sidewalks. Also, maintenance or someone should walk around the building(at least once a day to pick up obvious trash/sacks of garbage

Like that they are finally updating the rooms , over night staff was rude and not attentive, breakfast was horrible, all pastries were hard and dry , breakfast sausage was hard and old , bacon broke into glass pieces , potatoes were cold and hard , then they had the nerve to charge me for an extra person, just because my sister that didn’t eat had a taste of my daughters biscuits and gravy . Yea I was highly disappointed with the $46 I spent on breakfast.

Overall a very good visit. The One issue I had was that the breakfast provided for an extra $14 is bad. I’ve had much better for free with other chain hotels. With this hotel one of the more expensive in the area and they still charge for a substandard breakfast? Not nice. With Bennigans connected to the hotel I expected better. The fruit was not ripe, the biscuit gravy was terrible, the eggs barely warm. No waffles available but were advertised. You can get a better and cheaper breakfast elsewhere.
