The room was so small I was hardly able to move. Worse was the shower and wash basin.

The steps to the cellar where this room was are very steep and difficult to climb. the room is very small, there was black mould on the walls above the bed, sadly my wife had difficulty breathing and asthma was triggered due to this, we opened the window to address this but found that homeless people sit on the step above the room, and talk loudly and smoke this smoke fills the room, exacerbating the breathing issues. the window then of course had to be closed. We were minutes from having to call an ambulance at 2 am but she managed to sit in the windowless bathroom and run the hot tap to manage her symptoms. Having said this, the staff were very nice and the location near Kings cross hotel is very convenient. I guess in a nutshell, and typical of London, what was historically a lovely building has simply been built with too many rooms meaning awkward stair and tiny rooms. with a bit of maintenance the room we are in would be fine for a few days.

Wardonia Hotel is a lovely hotel. I booked a single room. It was a very small room, but it was very clean, the single bed is comfortable, and although it is really small, there is a shelf by the bed, with a double socket. There is a shelf with a kettle, and hot drink provisions. The shower and toilet is very clean, and easy to use. The liquid soap is situated in the shower space, rhere is a shelf and a mirror above the sink. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. They were friendly, communicative and happy to have a chat with you. I booked for 2 nights, costing £178, which for King's Cross, is really good. It is extremely close, about 6 minutes from the station. The reception is manned 24hrs a day. I will definitely stay there again.
