Very nice hotel in a quiet street close to Sunset Blvd. Spacious rooms with nice view. Loved the rooftop pool. Public Parking 5 mins walk away if the 65$ valet parking isnt your thing.

Incredible property just a short distance from all the action. The staff are fantastic, from the minute you arrive! We were even upgraded and given a bottle of champagne as it was my boyfriend’s birthday! The team are always very happy to see you and chat, or help you with what you need. The rooftop pool is wonderful but fills up very quickly, so get there early! Wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again.

The front desk staff person was apologetic that the hotel was fully booked so she could not offer the VIP upgrade. She offered this, so I did not have to ask. The room was great. The overnight parking at $65 seemed pricy.

The carpeting throughout the Montrose is dated, tired, and in poor taste in my opinion. The rooftop deck is excellent and a reason to stay at the Montrose, with great views of the LA area and an excellent bar. The pool is a bit small. The restaurant serves good food but has a ho-hum atmosphere. The parking at $65 per day is excessively expensive, although the valet service is quick and convenient. The room is nice, but nothing special.

We spent six nights at the Montrose and it was a wonderful hotel. We had great views of WeHo, the area is very quiet and walkable to shops and restaurants. We rented a car for a few days and the valet service was friendly and quick. The staff were friendly, we at in the restaurant a few times. The rooftop pool area was great as well; nice big loungers, the pool itself is very tiny but it was not busy during our stay. The rooms were very spacious, seperate living area and bedroom, large bathroom. Everything was in good condition and we had no problems. This is a great quiet little hotel if you are thinking of visiting LA. We used Montrose as our base and easily drove around or caught Lyft's where we needed to. Highly recommend this hotel for the price and what you get quality of room and quiet neighbourhood.

The location was nice but the hotel was a little dated and musty. I thought it was weird that I had to ask for bedding for the pullout couch- the past few hotels provided extra bedding in the closet. The decor was fun and bathroom was clean, but the property would benefit from a refresh to get rid of the old smoke/water damage smell.

From the reviews I expected a lot more up to date modern style room. When entering the room there was a bad smell as in old basement smell, the room furniture was out dated. I called down to the front desk to ask for room spray which took forever and had to call a second time which irritated me even more.

Smelled kinda musty but overall wasnt that bad. Bed was uncomfortable, tv hardly worked. Staff was great and very friendly. The best thing was the soap in the shower. My skin hasn’t been this soft in a long time. Overpriced for the quality in my opinion but it is Hollywood. Wouldn’t stay there again but not the worst place to stay if you need to be in that area.

Great location. Very friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. I requested housekeeping and even called to confirm and they didn't clean the room so that was a disappointment. Also $65 for parking hurts. But overall I would stay here again.

I liked the rooftop pool and the spacious suite and the location of the hotel. I didnt like that the sofa bed mattress was filthy but they did replace it although it was late at night and they could have checked the condition of this before we arrived knowing full well that we required the extra bed. I also had to request the extra bedding prior to discovering the state of the mattress.

Overall, the stay was okay. Likely won’t go back. The rooms themselves are nice enough, but there’s major construction on the far side of the building so you may end up with noise the early in the morning from it. The doorbells on the rooms are very annoying when you have neighboring rooms ringing each in at all hours of the night. So between that and the construction, there wasn’t much quiet. The WiFi was unusable and I couldn’t keep a connection long enough to do anything from so had to use my phone hotspot instead.

Very spacious rooms that are clean, comfortable and well maintained. The small balcony is nice to have, as well the fireplace. Comfortable beds too. The staff are very helpful and polite and have helped to make my post surgery recovery as comfortable as possible. This will likely be my choice hotel anytime I'm in the area.

This property is in a great part of LA, in between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Our room was spacious and offered a balcony with views of both the Hollywood Hills and downtown LA. The room was large and nicely updated, although there were some items in less than perfect condition. The valet parking was expensive and sometimes cumbersome. The rooftop pool and tennis courts were a nice touch. The beds and towels were both great quality.

From check in to check out, this is one of the best hotel stays we have EVER experienced! The staff were superb all around (check in desk, restaurant, market store, house keeping, check out, room service, valet) and our every need was taken care of. The rooms are fun and eclectic, while also clean and full of function. Having the mini fridge and the living area was so nice, and our private deck off our room was a wonderful added bonus. We can't wait to visit here again!

We chose the Montrose because of its proximity to West Hollywood, where a sick relative resides. As we dealt with this family crisis, The Montrose became an oasis from the stress my wife and I were dealing with. Every morning we were greeted with a smile, and every evening doors were opened for us with a "welcome back." When we needed things printed, the staff was quick to accommodate, and every question we had seemed genuinely important, and was thoroughly answered. Our suite was roomy -- more like an apartment than a hotel room -- and it was clean and well-appointed, and it was nice to have the mini-kitchen available. It was easy for us to get the rest and relaxation we desperately needed at the end of often long and frustrating days. The thing that set The Montrose apart from other places we have stayed was how genuinely friendly every member of staff was. Their warmth was something we greatly appreciated, as was their insight about the area. When it became clear to them that we were visiting for less than pleasant reasons, they sent a bottle of wine to our room. There were things we saw that we didn't get to take advantage of, like the rooftop pool, but we know that when we return to Los Angeles, this will be the place we stay.

There is a clear difference in personal interactions with Montrose employees and any highline hotel. Let me be clear: Everyone is helpful and courteous. But that subtle difference that makes a place truly shine is missing. An example is in the verbiage used to answer the phone, check someone in and address issues. "Its my pleasure, thank you" "Oh I apologize about that but it will be handled immediately" "would you mind holding for just a moment and I will check right now" (instead of "O ne minute" and a click as I am put on hold. The little things make a BIG difference. Just some training...along with a team who understands and enjoy displaying example after examply, daily, of great service. Again, Montrose is better than 90% of hotels. Another ladder rung up would be the attention to detail and utmost courtesy in every interaction.

A decent hotel in West Hollywood, walkable distance to a lot of things. Room was clean and a good size, nice amenities, but I was treated horribly by staff. I checked in like a regular guest, and gave them my card for payment/incidentals/etc, get to the room and everything is fine. The next night security bangs on my door at 10:30 at night yelling that I need to come down to the front desk for payment issues. It was late and I was startled and cut my arm trying to

Andrew was rude. He was stalking my friends and I. We felt very unsafe. Every time he would walk near us stare us down. Whenever my friends and I were out and about, he continued to make comments to us and just respect us. We definitely will not be back as we do not feel safe.

I could not fault this hotel - a great find. The location within walking distance of both Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Boulevard was excellent whilst still being in a quiet residential area. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The room size and roof top pool with city views were also a great bonus.

Pool was a little chilly in the evenings and the pool bar was closed which was a shame as we were told when we checked in it would be open but then later advised it’s too early in the season. Fridge on the room was a little noisy at night but nothing unbearable

I arrived several hours before my room was ready but the front desk was very friendly. They held my bag and gave me a key to access the elevator to the rooftop pool/bar area along with the WiFi access. I spent those hours “roughing it” poolside, enjoying the view and a wonderful lunch.

Nice hotel in a very quiet neighborhood. Walkable to Melrose or Santa Monica We Ho in about 15 minutes. Not much in the way of restaurants in the hotel and no bar area. I guess you’d call it boutique. I’d stay again, my room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean.

Parking was unexpected and expensive- $60 per day! Wifi was spotty. Smoke detector would get set off by shower steam. But the staff were kind and helpful. The room was cool and the rooftop pool was great for hot days. Really lovely Malin&Goetz products. You can ask for a Keurig for the room.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Montrose! I was upgraded which was a nice treat and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s too bad the restaurant is closed right now, but the food itself as room service was delicious. The pool is cute and it’s especially nice in the afternoon when the bar is open and the music is playing. A great place to stay!

The front desk ladies were great , house keeping was great, valet gentlemen was a pleasure . However the server in the restaurant was not friendly so we didn’t dine, also the barista was bothered by our request so it was a 1 and done on coffee options. The toilet paper should be of better quality , it was cheap and rough.
